1 guy working and we were the only order. Food thrown down on table, no indication of which order was which (we ordered 2 different wraps). Chips were missing and the guy asked me to clarify 3 times that i was asking for the missing chips. Not a great experience and the food was bland as a flip flop

Ordered a mixed box and sides, was told it would be around 15 minutes. So we sat waiting for the food, after 30 minutes we went to check to be told it is nearly ready. Another 15 minutes and still no food. Then we where given someone else's food, After 50 minutes we finally got our order, the food was pretty good but for the price and long wait it just wasn't worth it.

Offer vegan options but cook it in same vat as meat. What's the point?

Wish I could do no stars Don’t enter this place - just had order taken -payment taken and then told half was out of stock including drinks No refund available as manager meant to be at home sick and told not to contact staff had no issue with taking payment but refused a refund The staff then disappeared and came back to start the order and started slicing the meat and then used the scope with the meat in to pick up food of the food absolutely disgusting - staff sat on the counter that food was being served from - hair not tied up out the way - the lad working there blow into his gloves to put them on After seeing the way they started putting the food together and the hygiene - the refund was secondary as I didn’t want my kids to become ill from the way the food was getting prepared - never seen anything like it Only had one manager that had been sick all night but would be in tomorrow - up sick then serve food the next day 😱 Then called security thankfully they were amazing and supported me in getting somewhere but left with no food and no refund and told us pollo were shocking to deal with - need there shutter pulling down now - the centre manager also came out and said you never see the area manager for Pollo and Keely rarely in - the staff told us they have to take a picture and send it to Keely to prove they are open - so much trust 🤯

Just go to KFC, not much in stock and not any better than KFC for a lot more money.

I didn’t go in this place but witnessed disgusting behaviour from the staff throwing food at each other and some literally came flying out of the shop !!! No wonder reviews are bad !!!!

We arrived at Pollo Chicken Place at Xscape at 12:05pm, hoping to buy some chicken for lunch. Although the website said the restaurant opened at 11:30am, and it was well past this time, there were people inside who refused to open the restaurant. We waited for 5 minutes, and even though they saw us, they made no effort to serve us. We eventually gave up and went to 5 Guys instead. I would give Pollo Chicken Place one star, but zero if I could!

Cold burgers and I had salt with a side of chips that's how salty they where

*** AVOID THIS RESTAURANT *** I will never eat here again. The food is awful. The chicken was dry, only slightly warm, stodgy and just didn't taste nice. One of the staff members was shouting at the chef in front of us, then was on her phone when we left 😳 Don't waste your money !!

Another food place in Xscape that will be out of business before too long. What an absolute joke of an "establishment". Whilst looking to order on the self service I noticed there was no chicken tenders on the menu. As I approached the counter, I was met with a very unprofessional and quite rude response from one staff member telling me to just use the self service. I then asked why I couldn't see any chicken on the menu for this chicken shop. But this chicken shop had apparently run out of chicken?!? How that happens is beyond me but hey ho. Anyways in a rush I ordered a burger and was hands down the worst chicken burger I have ever come across. The brioche bun it came in was burnt yet cold, the slice of cheese on top was freezing and the burger was luke warm. The fries that came with were drenched in dirty oil. And the whole place was littered with food and rubbish and then just moved into one place by the staff rather than in the bin? Oh and the whole place looks like a prison. One of the worst food experiences in my life and I have eaten caterpillars!

Absolutely disgusting all the food went in the bin over £30 spent. Chicken wings so overcooked they were hard and inedible. Chicken peices overcooked, dry and hard grose. Burger was soggy tasteless Chicken dry and lettuce black. No dip came either. Fries not fries chips and even they were awful. AVOID

Awful!! Don't waste your money spent over £35 and all went in the bin 😡 chicken parmo no breadcrumbs on, was a slimy chicken breast with cheese on, lumpy gravy pot, cold chips. Will never order from this place again absolutely shocking!!!!

Tried this place for first time yesterday! And was impressed at the speed, I’m not sure if they see the order as you’re placing it so start cooking who knows but from sitting down to food being served was 2-3 minutes. Think everyone I watched struggled a little with the ordering system as there’s no person to greet you and explain just a large tablet that you order from and sit down - they then come out with food and say your name again I was worried having not given a table number as there is none. Drinks wise it doesn’t say to get yourself out of the fridge and isn’t fetched with the meal, just small niggles but think everyone was abit confused to begin with but having been once I would return and know what I was to do.

Absolutely awful … staff very rude … food hard and not edible… definitely will not be going back also got our order wrong… the place needs closing down.

Staff really rude and argumentative, they dropped my food on the floor then was going to serve it to me until I caught them. Donner meat was burnt and rock hard. Absolutely no in the shop and still got my order wrong. Then refused to refund the full price for the food we never ate. The whole experience was disappointing and disgusting. New staff and new chef needed ASAP.

Staff very rude , iw asked for a list of the calories for the salats , every restaurant and fast food should have a list with each product calories. Kelly the manager, I'm not even sure if this is her name , been very mean when answering about the calories list , maybe she was bothered that I also asked her why she changed the bin with the same gloves now she is cooking.also dear Kelly , you should wear a hair net when you work in a kitchen 😉

£4 for 3 chicken selects is a joke, they are the size if a chicken nuggets, 1 screen is broken so the wait is even longer, no customer interaction

Ate here today for the first time and was so disappointing especially with it being so high priced. The meat in the wrap was so dry and as tough as the sole of my shoe. I informed the lady behind the counter it was that bad And I’m not normally one to complain. She offered to make me another but I didn’t want another, I thought she may have offered me a refund but didn’t so I just binned it all and left disappointed and went to McDonald’s

Came for the day out for my sons birthday and ended up eating here. My son ended up with food poisoning and throwing up all on his birthday!! I am vegetarian so I know it was the meat! My son is now frightened to eat out Incase he gets sick again!

Chicken shawarma from two chicken pots and the chicken shawarma wrap were mostly inedible due to it being overcooked. We were also missing two portions of wings from our order on delivery. Two previous orders were perfect, but tonights food was very underwhelming.

Chicken was good, fries were nice. Not sure it justifies the price tag in relation to KFC or Slim Chicken's though.

Ordered chicken donor and it wasn't fresh and you could say its from yesterday or even older. it was absolutely awful i wouldn't even feed it to my dog. Tried to call them they didn't even answer. Absolutely appalling! Wouldn't recommend it at all.been their customer but not anymore. Hope the business goes down soon 👎

Ordered via deliveroo. 2 of 3 meals was missing. The restaurant wasnt bothered to send a meals and deliveroo didnt wanna give a refund for service charge and delivery fee. Will never use both service again. If you dont wanna loose your money stay away from both of them.

NEVER EAT HERE - Attended Pollo Castleford on the 13th of February. There was a 20 minute wait which we said was fine. However we had to wait at least 30 minutes before I reminded the waitress we had been waiting for our food and she said she would get on it. Our food was out within 5 minutes and it seemed nice at first until my partner suggested they thought their chicken seemed raw. After quick inspection we realised the chicken was not at all cooked and still looked fleshy like it had came straight out of the fridge. My partner tried to send it back, just hoping for an apology and some new food but the waiter sent him back with the food to eat claiming it was spices. WHO IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY SENDS SOMEONE BACK TO EAT RAW CHICKEN ? I was prepared to take this matter up privately with management but since who I think was the manager, Alex Cook has heard no one was ill and we weren’t prepared to accept a voucher from Pollo Leeds as we weren’t from that area nor we have both been fully put off chicken for life now, they have decided to sweep it under the rug and ignore my emails like it isn’t a big deal. This is unacceptable and disgusting and I would highly recommend to never ever visit here. We also spoke to someone else who was eating there and also reaffirmed that their food was disgusting. No level of poor staffing should show such incompetence in a restaurant.

Honestly this place was 5* until they changed the menu. I know it’s a chicken shop but they have removed absolutely everything from the menu that was chicken. Their Dirtiest Donner was amazing but they don’t do it anymore. Just shawarma and chicken. They’ve removed the cheesus Christ chips off the menu which were amazing and the chips are now nothing like they used to be. I’d justify the change if the menu was tastier but for £30 and two mains I won’t be coming again, it’s really not worth it there are much better places for the price. Also got my order wrong after waiting that long they had more than enough time to quality check. Heard the management have changed, it’s such a shame and really shows.

Been here a few times and I can honestly say I've never had an issue with any of the food and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming :) I look forward to my next visit.

Been here quite a few times before and really enjoyed it. Not tonight. Firstly was disappointed by the change in menu and items removed that we’d previously had and liked but still thought we’d give the new menu a try. Ordered and sat down. Realised that I’d forgotten to ask for some sauce so went back up to the counter to see the manager using her bare fingers to wipe sauce from around the basket of fries and chicken ready to be served to us and then licking the sauce from her fingers. When confronted about what I’d seen she tried to tell me that she had made that food for another worker who was also stood behind the counter and would make me a fresh one. Why would she be making another worker food first before her paying customers who were sat waiting and why then say I’ll make you a fresh one if it wasn’t mine? Absolutely disgusting. If she’s doing that in view of customers what else is happening? This place has gone downhill.

Been coming to Pollo for 6 months and found the food was really great and good value for money, I wished I had taken a photo of what I was presented this time around. I was told by the staff that they had recently been taken over and I can safely say I won't be coming here ever again. Portion sizes are now ridiculously small and the quality of the the food is really poor now. It seems the new owners have chosen to keep the original prices but sacrifice the food quality and size including reducing the menu by half. I wouldn't waste your money.

We have been to Pollo a handful of times and loved it however the change of the menu, has left us disappointed. Portion sizes are a lot smaller and realistically it is no longer good value for money. The Shwarma had no taste and was rubbery.

Ordered 3 chicken shawarma's. The salad, the sauce and the chicken absolutely delicious, however the wraps themselves were off. They smelt of a plastic/chemical sort of smell. We informed the staff straight away who told us that's just how they are. We then talked to the staff again after leaving the wraps aside as they were un-edible and they apologised but said nothing they could do. I feel they could have at least offered an alternative meal.

Went to get takeaway. It was closed despite me arriving 20 minutes before it’s advertised closing time.

Food was decent enough, shocked by the customer service, guy in the back was incredibly rude, practically chucked my meal on the table at me just because i asked if it had no salad, bit over the top. Had to get up and go back to ask for a new one cause he rushed off. Definitely just a takeaway style place

YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE!!! Seriously, it's the nicest Chicken Schawarma I've ever had .. .and their doner kebab is even better! And they serve MASSIVE portions too, not these weedy ones that you get at other food outlets. You'll never leave this place hungry and the staff here are fantastic. If you're in Xscape Retail Centre, make sure you visit this place at least once in your life ... you won't regret it. :)

First visit since it opened and after seeing reviews and also the really varied menu - different to what the usual places offer. Start off with the positives - really friendly staff (especially the american girl) and service was very quick. Food quality was really decent (good quality kebab) and portion size spot on. Downsides - burgers and parmos (big part of menu) were unavailable but in fairness due to current climate a lot of places are running on empty. Chips were VERY salty, so much so it put me off of them and although good quality, price is on the higher side.

Wow what an amazing place. Talk about portions! Really good value for money. We had a doner box and chicken mix box. The gravy is to die for and is packed full of chicken. Definitely worth a look in

Unbelievably great service tonight from the team at Castleford, after a genuine mix up on my order i was offered a fresh new order with a complimentary drink while i waited, my 2 shawarma feast boxes were unreal !! Many thanks.

Greeted by friendly staff and ordered 6 wings, my friend ordered popcorn chicken and fries. Sat down to wait for the food to be brought to us for takeaway, and the food arrived quickly. The chicken has to be some of the best I've tasted in Castleford, and the fries are delicious. The hot and spicy dip was so tasty as well. Love how you can see into the kitchen too. Will definitely be back here again soon to try some more from the menu 😋

Move over KFC, pack your bags Nandos, there's a new Chicken Guru in town! Ordered a couple of boxes fries and a kids meal and we were defeated by volume. Seems costly at first but HUUUUUUUGE portions for what you pay. Shwarma fries came in a shoe box, a side of mac and cheese is a full portion of pasta for one, boxes are pizza boxes! It's not all about volume though. They tastes are sensational. Tenders are crunchy coated most filled fingers of joy, Eddie's sauce is a tangy sensation, and even the kids popcorn chicken was cooked to perfection. The side of gravy obliterates the famous KFC by being fresher, tastier, thicker and for some delightful reason, littered with actual chicken meat, Col Sanders would be mightily impressed then weep into his secret recipie as his crown falls. Its not all poultry though as they do burgers too which have wonderful names like "The Kev" "The Pablo" and the awesome "The Gary". And if you're feeling veggie there's Haloumi and plant based too. The only few little downsides is the layout, small area and tiny tables and the lack of real drink options (cans of standard pop and mini water bottles). Its designed more like a post pub munch-station than an eateries as it sits in the Xscape next to the likes of F&B and Bella Pasta, but the unit is small itself. Would crush outside a big nightclub, but in the Xscape will need to focus on the eat and run brigade. The seating coupled with the new laminate flooring meant you could literally slide across the room with a gentle push which entertained the kids for a few moments when I spun round in circles, but nothing a few fabric stickers in chair legs wouldn't solve. Oh......and they do delivery!!!

Very unimpressed. £9.50 for lees than average chicken wrap. Fries very dry and plain, when asked if had any Mayo to dip chips in I was asked for £1.95! Would love to support local independent business but Nando’s round the corner same price and much better food, service and surroundings.
