Pokusevski's in Stockport

Spontaneous decision by a friend to take us to Pokusevskis. The food was very good, the service was very good, the atmosphere was very good, absolutely right. The music was loud but not too loud so as to prevent conversation. The food all came at once, perfect (I hate it when one person gets left waiting). But the service here was spot on. All the stars, no doubts.

Stumbled upon this little place and couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome with an absolutely gorgeous lunch at a great price. Freshly cooked food that definitely set those taste buds going. Keep up your service 🌟

Lovely welcoming place. 5 of us had breakfasts on 2 consecutive days. Can highly recommend. Wholesome food freshly cooked. Very friendly staff.

Overpriced food, I ordered a full breakfast for about £15. None of it tasted fresh at all so I saw no need for items to be so overpriced. Not only that but it wasn't an enjoyable experience overall as it took an hour for my food to come, normally I don't mind waiting but it was just ridiculous. The eggs were slimy and quite offputting which has me worried about salmonella. The sausages were rancid and slightly burnt. None of the food was appetising whatsoever and the price is not justified, especially for the small portion sizes. There are no redeeming qualities at all. I do not recommend this place, especially when there are better and more cost effective alternatives in the area or if you prefer to not risk salmonella or food poisoning.

Food was well over priced and average at best. Ordered the beef brisket hot sandwich and a mozzarella, tomato and pesto hot sandwich. The beef brisket looked and tasted like packet sliced beef. And the mozzarella sandwich was heavily saturated in olive oil and barely any mozzarella on it. £45 for 2 sandwiches, 2 chips which were really small, 1 Peroni which tasted watered down and 1 coke. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend and won't be returning.

Came on a Sunday, but the English breakfast was disappointing. Eggs where overcooked and the food was lukewarm. Portions were a bit small. The food was generally slightly bland, with little seasoning. It felt rushed and lacked care. Atmosphere was ok, but I expected better from the food.

We stumbled upon this place for breakfast one day and liked it so much we returned the next day. Both visits we enjoyed immensely. It is an eclectic place with a good atmosphere and obviously very popular. In the summer the garden out the back must be lovely. The cakes looked wonderful as did the lunch menu but we were only there for breakfast both days and enjoyed full English on one of the days (excellent!) and smashed avocado on toast on the other day - both excellent choices and beautifully presented. Good value for money - friendly service and would definitely return when back in the area.

Visited today as we were local to support a local business like ourselves. I can not comment on the food as we did not get that far, however we waited a few mins for somebody to acknowledge us. Upon response we was greeted by a gent who said he can not accommodate due to no tables of two, however he had tables of four, but due to us only being 2 people we was not allowed a table of four because they would make more money if 4 people came in. What if the “table of 4” only order drinks? Or cake? Disappointed, we never write reviews but this has blown my mind due to being a restaurant & bar owner ourselves. Such a shame.

Just want tobsay fantastic customer care and service from Cian! Went above and beyond for us! Had a coffee business meeting, and he gave us the quietest table in the restaurant and demonstrated the privacy we needed exquisitely!! Thanks, and will definitely be returning for food!!! Would give 10 for cian and 10 for the coffee 10 overall!!! Many thanks Marcus

I waited for 30 minutes for a sausage + egg sandwich and a hot drink, but the sandwich came to me very dry. The food was overpriced and tasted cheap. The atmosphere was somewhat OK, but I don't have anything positive to say about this place. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. There are much cheaper cafes that serve better quality food for lower price.

UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING cake, great coffee lovely atmosphere and a beautiful little garden space.

Booked for brunch for ourselves and family. I am coeliac and the gluten free options were fabulous. We had bacon poached eggs and smoked salmon and poached egg and shakchuka absolutely fabulous beautifully spiced. A real fine. Connor lovely thank you We will be back

Great local place to meet friends & have lunch.

Great food, served in generous portions with real pride. Atmosphere was excellent. Families, groups and couples all relaxed. I'd say hip, but not pretentious.

Have been to Pokusevskis several times and the food is always good. I’ve previously had either the soups or the quiche and salad/s and although I’d say they’re a little more expensive than some other establishments, I’m always happy to pay it as the quality is there and the portion size is adequate. I went yesterday and opted for the sandwich, which came with one salad for £12.00. I was told the sandwich was really big, however when it arrived, I was quite surprised at the size of the sandwich which was two smallish squares of focaccia and one breaded chicken thigh. It tasted OK, but absolutely not worth £12.00. As I’ve said, the food is always good here, and this is not so much about the quality or taste but that small sandwich was not value for money at all. I don’t come here often, so it’s more of a treat but if I want a sandwich I won’t be coming here again, there are other places in the vicinity where you’d get better value for money for the same price. My recommendation to them is to beef up your portions, if you’re going to charge £12.00 for a sandwich, make it a proper sandwich, not the measly thing I received on my visit.

I'm a regular visitor to this cafe and often have a positive experience. However I felt compelled to share my husbands most recent experience when he visited with our 1yo for lunch - in short, he waited 45 minutes for anyone to take his order at which point his time was limited and our son was getting by on snacks. He visited the counter multiple times only to be told by staff they would 'be there in a minute' but then no one followed up. Both tables either side (who arrived around the same time) ordered and received their meals before staff approached my husband to say 'oh you've not received your food?' to which my husband replied his order had not even been taken despite several visits to the counter and flagging down of staff. The staff kept reiterating that they were 'very busy' which we appreciate, we're not unreasonable people, but the lack of communication between staff and attentiveness to all customers in this case was unacceptable. What's worse, my husband was seated directly across from the counter and thus in direct view of all staff. My husband did his best to be polite in his frustration when he complained, wary of his tone around our son and other customers, and was offered a free drink. As a gesture this was appreciated however he was not asked what he would like, and was given a white coffee which he doesn't drink. I appreciate perhaps my husband should have been more direct and insisted he ordered at the counter much earlier, but he could see and appreciate the staff were busy and had good faith he'd be attended to, like the tables around him. A very disappointing level of service.

Happened upon this fabulous cafe while in the area for work. I loved everything about it - the decor and relaxing atmosphere, staff were fab and friendly (including the lady who received a previous unfortunate review, she couldn't have been more hospitable) and the breakfast of poached eggs with mushrooms on toast was delicious. The quality of the ingredients was excellent - amazing bread! I found it a welcoming place to get some work done between appointments while enjoying a lovely breakfast and a couple of very nice flat whites! Will definitely return

Lovely cafe with a nice sun trap at the back. Have had delicious things from the lunch and breakfast menu and was impressed with both. They have tasty salads and the coffee is good too. Will definitely return!

Waited an hour for an our full breakfast, it was partly cold, missed items, and dried out / overcooked in parts. Meat sausages were very tasty though! Waited too long to order and then for a drink to arrive too. Also over priced for the value. £84 for 4 people to have breakfast. The place felt dirty and a bit tired - the toilets were shabby and not clean! Fed back and didn’t take anything off the bill! Couldn’t believe it! Will not be returning and it’s really put me off. We were so disappointed

Food is normally good. Had shakshuka. Was overcooked. Egg was boiled not poached. Music was too loud so front of house couldn't hear my order properly. Would normally give 4 stars but being unable to cook an egg is poor. Please sand the tables down because the cleaning products are reacting with the varnish and making the tables sticky.

Nice lunch and coffee. Service was a little awkward but the sandwiches were really well done. Bit on the pricier side but didnt feel overcharged for the level of quality.

Food is mostly delicious and appears freshly prepared & artesan style. My only criticism is that the homemade guacamole has too much chilli as it burned my tongue and takes away flavour from everything else. A but pricey for breakfast, but eating out everywhere is thes days. The coffee is very good.

Food was great, cake a little dry but brownies were amazing. The service from the blonde waitress with the bee tattoo on her wrist was appalling. She was rude to a gentleman wanting a table where she told him to 'move back!' And told if there are tables outside you can sit outside! When we asked her for the bill and to pay for what each of us had, the look of disgust on her face was shocking. She said 'No we are rammed!' Then suggested we split the bill three ways. I refused this suggestion on the grounds that we hadn't all bought a cake. She then turned the tablet around and say well you add it up then, she was then told no, we don't work here. If the tone and manner wasn't shocking enough she slammed a small order pad down and proceeded to add our orders up. We paid, smiled politely and thanked her and walked out. We will not be coming back as her service was rude and yet the other ladies were fabulous and have always been fabulous.

What a fantastic little gem of a place. Food was one of the best avocado on toast I’ve eaten. Phoebe the waitress was brilliant. Can’t wait to come again.

An impromptu brunch with friends from York spoilt by the rude service from the blonde haired waitress with the bee tattoo. She was rude to a gentleman wanting a table- telling him the 'step back!' Then when we came to pay the bill she told us she couldn't split the bill as it was rammed! She then told us to split it three ways when we declined because not everyone had bought cake, She then turned the tablet around and said you work it out 😳 I replied no we don't work here. Appalling rude arrogant waitress service from here but everyone else were fabulous. She is letting down your reputation and we will not be eating in there again. Manners cost nothing and I would not expect an adult to roll their eyes and slam the pad down when she had to add up the items people had.

Lovely atmosphere unless it's really busy. It's dog friendly so you need to aware of this if it's an issue. Staff friendly, but service sometimes a little slow. Cakes and breakfasts are amazing. Not cheap but worth it.

So glad there are other places for a coffee! Cloudy, dirty tasting coffee and tbh it’s hard to swallow a dry cake let alone the £5.75 price tag for it!!!!!!!

I was there on Tuesday this week with a friend. We had to attract the attention of a waitress to place our order which was really simple. We then waited over an hour before it arrived. Pretty unsatisfactory really.

The table was dirty and sticky and we were waiting nearly an hour for our meal. The reservation was for 12.30pm and there was only breakfast menu to order from. Once we got our meal it was cold and the eggs were over cooked. I have ordered a second cup of tea which we never got. Very poor service left us disappointed..

Really great food, lovely selection- very hard to choose!! We all enjoyed the sandwiches and salads on offer, will definitely be coming back to try other options!

It isn't pokusevski anymore. It's a hairdressers called That Hair Place Very good. In fact Clare used to be my hairdresser elsewhere so I've known her for a while. Excellent hairdresser and a lovely person.

Love atmosphere, very attentive staff and reasonably priced food items. Coffee was exceptional...not the normal burnt bitter taste but very pleasant. Will definately return

We come here every Sunday, the best bacon and egg sarnie I've had in my time, but all the food on the breakfast menu is amazing! Very kind owner who has gone above and beyond to help is in the past, lovely neighbourhood staple!

Stopped in for hot chocolate which was lovely, but £5.50 for a slice of very dry cake. Not so much.

Superb brunch on Sunday at 10.00 . My daughter reserved a table on line the day before and I'm happy she did as the place was full by 10.45. I love the decor , the staff were excellent as was the breakfast menu, quality of ingredients used and the coffee. Thanks to you all and I look forward to a return visit.

We went here having seen the good reviews, but we were very disappointed. The food was cold, toast was stale, eggs were overcooked. We were also charged for large drinks despite asking for normal size. It is not good value for money

Impossible for a wheelchair user, difficult for a fold up trolley space limited. Outside ok if the weather is fine. Food good if carefully chosen, toilets downstairs which precludes the elderly amongst us. Overall for the young and trendy.

Our first visit. Large group of us went in for brunch. Nice menu. All our food was excellent. Nobody disappointed. The Service provided was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. Thank you for looking after us.

Nice atmosphere but a bit crowded

I'm leaving this place a 5 star review even if a couple of times they had a wobble.(once they forgot about my cake order as I didn't have lunch and I suppose they prioritize people who were eating more than just a carrot cake but I was there with my mum for the first time so not a good impression) That happens everywhere I suppose and it hasn't happened since. I stop by very often. The coffee is great, lovely food. Pram friendly indoor and outdoor. They do have a changing table for babies which I didn't know until they mentioned. You have to ask for it and they'll set it up for you. Lovely place one of the best in the are.

Fabulous place for breakfast/brunch with good selection and not too expensive at around £10 a head for a drink and breakfast

I used to go here lots of times in the past as it was reasonably priced. We bought one small hot drink and 2 larger ones , followed by a brownie and a piece of cake. This cost £20.80 and when queried we were told it cost £11.00 for the Bannana cake and brownie. In a cafe that is shocking and well overpriced. I was in London last week and went to a cafe and it didn’t cost as much as here. We all know it’s a cost of living crisis at the minute, but this is on another level. An average cafe with decent food , nothing else. Service was fine but please revisit your price lists.

Amazing little restaurant. I love their Tapas, cakes & coffee. Plus their weekend breakfast is yum. The quality of the food is super good. I would highly recommend this place.

Sadly very disappointed by the lack of fresh healthy food on offer here! We used to visit quite often but I’m afraid won’t be returning! Expensive & very limited choices. Asked about a salad but nothing available! Only option was Tabouleh at an added extra cost we chose filo cigars with feta & spinach these were really dry & tough, served with chips so not a healthy option & were told there was a salad with it, nothing but a small handful of red cabbage with a dressing on?! Such a shame! 😔 One waitress was really grumpy & offhand, one was very pleasant. Was also put off by Lipstick on the coffee cup when my cappuccino was served & no mention of an apology when served a replacement by the waitress with the bad attitude!

Excellent little place in Heaton Moor, best to book a table in advance gets busy, service good staff friendly. Food good. Only thing I didn't like they allow dogs in. Just a personal thing guide dogs yes but others no.

Lovely home made tasting good. Restaurant had a lovely welcoming atmosphere, with beautiful quirky art work. I haven’t visited a polish restaurant before, so this was a treat. Would recommend visiting!

The food here is good and the cafe has lovely decor. The main issue is the subpar customer service, some of the staff are unwelcoming and give off this vibe as if customers are a hassle to them (this has been my experience during the last 2 visits).

Had breakfast here. £10 for Eggs Royle with a really small amount of salmon, £10 eggs Benedict bacon was advertised as crispy it looked as if it had been deep fried, shame really as it’s a nice place, friendly staff and a good vibe

Came here on Saturday morming for the first time. The decoration and atmosphere was really lovely with lots to look at. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious! Think this will be my new favourite place

I always head here whenever I'm back up in Manchester. I think I have finally made my way through the whole breakfast menu, which is all wonderful. The sandwiches are great too and the staff are always friendly, polite and efficient.

It was my first time here today and I cannot begin to say what a wonderful experience it has been. Fabulous food, catering for all food allergies/intolerances, amazing decor and kind, friendly staff. The soup is AMAZING as are the sandwiches!!! I will certainly be back 😁

Only been here for breakfast before which was lovely and a decent portion. Ordered a cheese and caramelised onion toastie with a side order of chips and received a tiny, child's size cheese toastie minus onions with a small bowl of chips (10 in total!) for £13, ridiculously overpriced and certainly won't be back for lunch!

The people in this cafe have shocking customer service skills. It's almost like a joke they're that bad. They give you attitude as soon as you walk in and make you feel bad for asking for a coffee. It's like you're a massive hassle to them and they huff around rolling their eyes. Won't be going back.

Well designed coffee shop, I don’t have any complaint about the food but maybe breads could be a little bit bigger and soft because we could not cut it. I want to say that I’m a flat white gourmet, i ordered flat white but instead of that i get milk and foam, coffee is important for me, flat white should has velvety consistency with coffee taste. Generally coffee is not great, my partner did not like her latte as well. Anyway thank you..

My fav there, cakes!! Although the prices are expensive compare with other local places. Understanding life is going up, but this place beats others in the area. Service its OK, sometimes they seems to rush people to leave once they are done with food or drinks.

Been here twice for breakfast food. The food is lovely, you can tell its very good quality. However the price is pretty steep and the portion size small. I'd definitely recommend trying pokusevski as it does taste good.

We came in for a mid afternoon pint and slice of cake. Nice craft beer and I lovely slice of cake. Easy atmosphere that was accommodating as we had a young child with us!

Fantastic coffee, decor and staff. We loved the affogatos and the brilliant sourdough. Perfect poached eggs and the most delicious choc with churros, also. My parents loved it and they're hard to please, so thanks for saving brunch!

Place is lovely and whilst food looks nice I couldn’t face paying £15 for a sandwich and sweet potato fries. Maybe I need to get with the times though.

What a lovely place to go on a summers day. Very inviting and friendly staff couldnt ask for more. Had a variety of delicious plates with our favourite the halloumi which was definately 10/10. Lovely ambience, lovely staff and decent food. Not bad at all! 🤌

Booked only the day before which wasn’t a problem for the lady on the phone, on arrival our table was set up by the garden. Both front of house staff were very nice and accommodating. I had asked for a ‘mocktail’ for my partner which is not something that was on the menu, the staff went above and beyond to create this for us. Although the menu wasn’t the exact which is shown online, there are plenty of delicious plates to choose from! Staff were chatty and friendly. We will be back.

Great food and nice atmosphere.

The restaurant itself has lovely ambiance! Absolutely gorgeous. The service was great, timely with our waiter friendly and attentive enough. I was highly disappointed when I discovered that the menu is so much more limited in the restaurant in comparison to what is available online. Seems that prices have also decreased, with quality decreased. Previously sandwiches served on Focaccia or Rye with a lovely selection of salads/ now just some salad leaves on side :-( Also could do with a better barista, milk was over frothed.
