I was in here twice during our recent stay at the Hilton and neither would i report as positive. On arrival to the hotel we visited here for a quick drink and nibble, the serving staff were really very poor in both their knowledge of drinks and their communication skills. We asked if they had any Crisps or nuts and was greeted with lost faces! The ordered some Aubergine fried pieces, but they were really awful - VERY greasy and tasteless. We also ate here for Breakfast and again the service was pretty similar and the food very confused - we ordered smoked salmon and poached eggs on toast but nothing about it was really positive - the very small eggs on served on a circle of toast about 3 cm wide (of what use that is supposed to be i have no idea).

Lovely afternoon tea for myself and my son. The teddy bears picnic tea was very cute and my son liked the personalised bear as well as the teddy bear he received. They catered nicely for my allergies with not a fruit salad in sight! Thanks to the kind staff, especially one of our servers Rajani (hopefully got the name correct!). Recommend this tea.

Attempted to extend the expiry but unable to due to expensive “handling fee” of £20. Voucher has now gone in the bin.

Soup was served room temperature instead of hot Calamari was served room temperature instead of hot Balsamic vinegar bottle served completely locked Beef 🥩 served tasteless And when the head waiters asked me of the food, and I answered him “not excellent”, he said that’s okay 😃😃 Second experience at this restaurant…..poor and staff literally relaxed and don’t care

We visited The Podium with friends and four children for a wonderful Christmas teddy bears picnic afternoon tea. The food was delicious and beautiful themed. The wildlife teddies given to each child were made from 100% recycled plastic and so fluffy and soft. The waiting staff were so accommodating, patient and kind, so a huge thank you to Rajni and Nevada.

Nuestra reserva se canceló dos veces, primero debido al cierre y la segunda porque el restaurante, a pesar de aceptar reservas, no estaba abierto.Al llegar, nos colocamos mascarillas y nos lavamos las manos según las señales solicitadas en la puerta. El personal del restaurante tenía mascarillas, pero no todos se molestaron en usarlas correctamente. Algunos se los colocan sobre la barbilla para hablar con los clientes y otros tienen la nariz descubierta. Si desea que el personal se cubra la cara, insista en que lo hagan correctamente.Nuestra comida y bebidas llegaron de manera oportuna y los sándwiches estaban bien. Los bollos eran pequeños, pero calientes y frescos. Teníamos cuatro pasteles de pastelería entre nosotros, por lo que se requería una cierta cantidad de picar a la mitad. Solo uno era en realidad un pastel de chocolate, por lo que difícilmente se ajustaba a la descripción de "Chocoholics". We utilised our ‘buy a gift’ voucher for a 3 course meal with Prosecco for two. We were not disappointed! Fabulous food and wonderful service. Would highly recommended!!

We did not have time to eat a full meal this time as we were going to Les Miserables but the Seafood Main courses we had were excellent!

My husband took me here for my birthday. We were not disappointed. The food was 5 star, our 3 course meal was fantastic. Service was impeccable and Lea was wonderful, she tended to our every need. We certainly recommend Podium. Thankyou for making our evening memorable.

Ambience lovely, seating comfortable, staff outstanding and good value. Cheaper with Buyagift than just turning up. You eat off the same menu but with just a few restrictions if you want to stay within your voucher price. Excellent value for 3 courses and a glass of Prosecco for two people.We've been 3 times this way and have no complaints whatsoever with the food. In fact we were so full we didn't eat another thing all day from lunch time. I had soup and hubby terrine for starters then we both had haddock and chips....delicious. Their creme brulee is to die for. They've cut down the size but it was huge and far too much.Lovely meal don't hesitate to go

I bought a Wowcher coupon for this tea it really isn't worth paying the original price of £39 per person.The hotel is really in need of a refurbishment....you think Hilton / Park Lane this has got to be good ....but it isn't :(The staff were very friendly and we were sat at a large window at the front of the hotel so you could watch people arrive in their cars / taxis My friend ordered a coffee and I opted for a breakfast tea ,these were brought promptly along with 3 little egg timers for you to time the strength of your tea these were a joke as my tea was like dishwater , it didn't matter how long I left it brew there were only a few tea leaves in the teapot .The positive things were the food , we were given a plate of dainty sandwiches which were fresh and delicious, the scones were delicious and as it was Valentines Day the cakes were set on a red chocolate heart .......the cakes also were good and what we couldn't eat were boxed up for us to take home. The staff were excellent and attentive . My advice to you is checkout the Wowcher page for deals and don't expect luxury

I dined here tonight from Manchester with my partner for my birthday meal. I must say the service is outstanding, the staff go above and beyond. The food was one of the best meals I have ever had. The price was very good for the standard and quality of food. If I was to visit London again in the future I would definitely come back. I don’t remember the waiters name but he as a tall man with a foreign accent, he was such a lovely, friendly and welcoming man and a credit to the place.

I booked a Chocoholic Afternoon Tea for two through buyagift. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and seated quickly. The staff were very friendly and attentive and explained to us how the afternoon tea worked. We had a choice of organic teas and a glass of champagne. The first part of the tea was a plate each of mini rolls/ sandwiches which were fresh and the fillings were lovely. The cakes and scones followed. The scones were the best I have ever eaten! The cakes were delicious and everyone was different. We were offered a top-up tea and water was supplied throughout.We could not fault anything and happily paid the optional service charge. Overall, a great experience and would visit again.

Después de haber disfrutado de un té de la tarde fabuloso aquí en dos ocasiones anteriores, reservé esto a través de Groupon para el 13 cumpleaños de mi hija. Éramos una fiesta de 4, mi madre, mis hijas de 7 y 13 años y yo. Reservé cuatro tés estándar de la tarde, según lo previsto para el picnic de los osos de peluche para mi hijo de 7 años, ya que eran dos por el precio de uno. Gracias a Dios que era como si hubiera pagado el precio completo de nuestro té de la tarde, incluso me hubiera decepcionado más de lo que me siento ahora.Llegamos diez minutos antes de que nuestra mesa estuviera reservada y el personal fue muy amable al tomar nuestros abrigos y llevarnos a nuestra mesa, lo que nos permitió poner un globo sobre la mesa que habíamos traído con nosotros. Not great. Tables and decor need a refresh. Staff are not helpful (in our experience). reluctance to setup new tables if they are empty.

Giannis served us very well and taught us how to enjoy the afternoon tea. This is our first time visiting London and also our first time at Podium. It was very nice and an enjoyable experience. Thank you Giannis.

I recently was treated to 'Afternoon tea for two' at the Podium Restaurant & Bar, Hilton hotel for my Birthday and I can't imagine anything better than spending an afternoon in beautiful surroundings eating Tea & Cake! Unfortunately this experience wasn't great and downright awful for a Hilton Hotel!

We had high expectations given the pastry chefs were Bake Off the Professionals 2028 winners. Sadly we didn’t enjoy any of the patisseries. They were dry, the one with a mango jelly was a solid gelatin with not much mango flavour, the macaron ... let’s just say we’ve had better. A lot of chocolate ganache based patisseries but nothing refreshing to taste. Would be nice to have a included some cakes with a nice light sponge. Another thing we noticed was that whilst sandwiches were served individually, pastries were only one each between two people despite charging per head for the afternoon tea.

Cakes were delicious and afternoon tea was beautifully served. The staff were very friendly and attentive to serve the food and drinks. All our family enjoyed very much.

I had afternoon tea here at Podium. They were very accommodating with dietary requirements of some of the members of my group who were vegans etc. The sandwiches were okay and some of the cakes were quite nice however for £50 it was pretty sparse and the waiter was reluctant to bring any more out. The tea selection was pretty good however I was left very disappointed when I asked for a refill I was brought the same pot with the same leaves so it was far weaker than the first potful. The service was generally sub-par for a restaurant of Podium’s standing, the waiter was only nice when I was ordering something (read spending money) otherwise he seemed dis-interested. Finally we sat for about 45 minutes after the table was cleared before I had to get up to ask for the bill. The waiter said he would bring it in a minute and then stood there chatting to a colleague for 5 minutes, cleaned a few tables whilst deliberately avoiding my gaze before finally bringing it over. I wouldn’t go again.

I enjoyed the tea and selection of sandwiches, scones and pastries. The service was good and attentive without being intrusive. The venue unfortunately is a let down. The decor is tired and dated, and no sufficient effort was made to lift the tone up perhaps with a nicer tea set, or even a crisp white table cloth to brighten up a dull, chocolate-brown table. They have the potential to excel though if they improve the room decor, as the sandwiches and pastries were both beautiful and tasted good!

We had a great evening and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is friendly Thank you and we will return :)

Adequate food at an acceptable price point only if you get a cheap discount voucher, look at Groupon, wOWCHER, they are everywhere, do not pay full price,

Had a very nice meal with excellent service and pleasant surroundings, so lots of ticks! However the meal was given to me as part of a birthday present by way of a voucher, this was very good value, but I must admit I would not feel the same if I was paying full price!

We decided to go for chocolate afternoon tea in December as we wanted to experience the Christmas theme.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. We had to wait an hour to be seated so had a drink at the bar. The prices are exclusive of VAT so paid £7.50 for a bottle of beer which is steep, however the whole place appears geared up for people with a bit more money.

Fuimos con cupones de Groupon (comprados con dto.del 50% en la versión inglesa) y si bien disfrutamos del "Afternoon tea" y de sus deliciosos pasteles, la experiencia no fue todo lo satisfactoria que esperábamos. El servicio fue deficiente: hasta 4 camareros se acercaron a nuestra mesa a servirnos, creando con ello algo de confusión: en ningún momento nos preguntaron si queríamos repetir los sandwiches (aunque al ser la parte más floja del "afternoon tea" no nos importó demasiado), tuvimos que pedir nosotros tomar una segunda taza de te y por último, no nos sirvieron las 2 copas de champagne que habíamos pagado en nuestra opción de "afternoon tea" (y que a nosotros se nos olvidó pedir). En resumen, una experiencia mejorable donde eso sí: los pasteles estaban deliciosos.

We have visited the Podium twice now for Afternoon Tea and on both occasions we have been really impressed by all aspects of the experience.

Four of us visited the Podium on Saturday evening for a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine per couple which was a Wowcher deal.

Was given afternoon tea gift voucher from buy a gift. Worst experience ever, I took my children with me and having told the restaurant in advance they told me only 2 hours before my booking that if they eate from the afternoon tea they would charge me £15 each!!! Outrageous!!!! My children didn’t want the afternoon tea and they gave me the bar menu to select something which was very limited ended up paying £17 for a club sandwich. Like all other afternoon tea’s in park lane, no sandwich refills. The service I received through the experience from booking to the day was shocking. I would recommend it. To top it off they tried to charge service charge for the extra food and afternoon teas voucher nearly £20!!!! Do not bother going here!!!

We had a voucher for afternoon tea. Considering it’s within the Hilton on Park Lane this restaurants interior is very dull and dowdy comparing to the hotel. The tea consisted of 5 tiny square sandwiches - these were quite bland and nothing special. Then came the sweets which consisted of 4 small scones with cream, jam and caramel and 6 small cakes. The scones were warm and delicious. However the cakes were quite gooey and sickly. Anything left you can take away. However the box they packed it in was a bit big for the items so even though we tried to keep the box straight etc everything was a big mess when we got home and therefore went straight in the bin. They charged a 12.5% service charge which in my opinion should be included within the voucher. It wasn’t very busy on the day we went and I personally wouldn’t choose or recommend this place if you wanted to experience an “afternoon tea”

We had a fantastic afternoon tea here, the food and service were both exceptional. There were a great selection of sandwiches and the cakes were delicious. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend this to others!

We had an afternoon tea for two bought as a gift for Christmas. This was the chocoholics version and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant has a distinguished classy feel with live music. The waiters and waitresses were extremely professional and nothing was too much trouble. We aren't really tea drinkers and they were more than happy to substitute coffee. The sandwiches were a tad on the small size but we could have had more if we liked. The scones were great but this was really all about the desserts. The plate arrived and looked like a work of art, the chef(or artist) came and explained each of his creations. We really should have taken some home as they can become a little sickly and a box can be provided for this purpose. We were however going out afterwards and therefore just about managed to polish off the lot.

Had champagne afternoon tea at the restaurant at the London Hilton, which was delicious. A good variety of sweet and savoury treats. Good service and very friendly staff.Highly recommended 👍🏽

A nice place for Afternoon tea. We went on Halloween and the selection of cakes reflected the occasion. Really enjoyed apart from the waitress making a mistake on the bill ( obviously over charged), but this was quietly rectified and no embarassing fuss made.

We went there for an afternoon tea. I have mentioned vegetarian option as a special requirement, when making a booking. Reception was fine. We were seated immediately despite that we came some 5 to 10 minutes earlier. The interior is rather bland and lacking any atmosphere. They don’t have a special vegetarian menu available neither in the restaurant nor online, so we couldn’t get familiar with the vegetarian sandwich options before we actually got them on the table. Sandwiches were not classical finger sandwiches but open ones. We received 5 different kinds. They tasted fine but weren’t much flavorful nor interesting. They would have tasted better, should they use better quality ingredients. It felt like they were made really quickly just to have it going and without putting any thought into it. Scones on the other hand were remarkable and are to die for. Deserts are beautiful and big (which balances at the end rather small size of the sandwiches). Some of the deserts were delicious, while the other ones could have been better. We have waited for over 20 minutes for our tea refill and had to ask for it again, despite the venue was pretty empty. I have observed that other guests waited really long for the sandwiches to be served and a waiter had to check with the guests what they were waiting for before finally bringing the food. The other guests checked with us, if we also had a vegetarian option. While we got 5 different types of vegetarian sandwiches, the other guests claimed to get 4 pieces of the same type of the vegetarian sandwiches. I have also noticed that this venue offers discounted vouchers (groupon, etc.), which could be a sign that a business is struggling and could explain an inconsistent and meagre service. The whole experience was rather mediocre and a bit disappointing. I am not likely to become a returning customer here, as there are better afternoon tea options at the same or slightly higher price.

I was surprised how lovely this place was. Truly wonderful filet steak and our waiter Csabawas a totally joy and very helpful!

This is the second time I’ve visited this restaurant at the Hilton Park Lane and I love it. The service is impeccable and very friendly and worth the 12% discretionary service charge. The food is wonderful and even though it was a wowcher deal, you get the same menu. The food is delicious and as a vegetarian you have a choice not just an option.

Went for lunch today and staff were delightful and efficient. The Groupon deal was explained clearly and it was very generous. You are made to feel very relaxed and they check everything is fine. Loved the food, carpaccio and sea bream:absolutely delicious. Have been previously and I am glad to say nothing has changed. Always professional and welcoming.

We’ve visited this restaurant on many occasions and always enjoy it. Good food and well located for us. However on this most recent occasion we paid £7 for a side dish of veg consisting of one tiny carrot, one tiny piece of broccoli and one minuscule piece of cauliflower. This is the highest price we’ve ever paid for a side dish and the smallest portion we’ve ever received. We should have complained but it’s embarrassing when you’re trying to have a pleasant, stress free evening. Oh and it was also very cold seated next to the glass windows...they definitely needed to turn up the heating. Several people around us had draped their coats over their shoulders to combat the chill!

We go fairly regularly to this place for the set menu deals especially when via Buyagift or Groupon.

I purchased this experience through Buyagift for my friend and myself in celebration of my friend's birthday. We were warmly greeted at the entrance to the Podium restaurant and shown to our lovely table. Claudia who served us our tea and subsequently took care of us throughout the afternoon was both friendly and knowledgeable about the different teas and pastries. We had a variety of open sandwiches including prawn, chicken curry and smoked salmon and they all tasted gorgeous. The pastries took things up a level and were outstanding in both presentation and taste, as were the scones (two plain, two choc chip) which were as light as a feather in your mouth and served with clotted cream, jam and salted caramel as a third option. Claudia presented my friend with a special cake designed in the shape of a candle on a plate with the words Happy Birthday written upon it in chocolate sauce (yum!) The Podium restaurant itself is light and welcoming and comfortable to sit in with plenty of room between tables so you can chat freely. All in all, a wonderful experience that has created some happy memories for my friend and I. We loved it!

Friends of mine purchased a Groupon voucher deal for Podium as a 40th birthday gift for me, after I had said I'd not been there, and had bought them the same Groupon voucher deal. My friends notified Podium of my booking date to ask if my birthday could be acknowledged in some way, and Maria promised they would.

We have eaten here several times using a voucher and the restaurant remains consistently good. On our last visit the sweet was exceptional. The ‘Russian Tower’ not only tasted good it's appearance was a perfect work of art and in my opinion deserving of a Michelin Star. Keep it up.

I stayed at this hotel so essentially ate a few meals at this restaurant. Breakfast was French toast as I don't eat on buffets and they kept asking was I sure I wanted French toast as it wasn't on the buffet and cost 9pounds. Yes I understand-- people must often complain about that option- several food options on buffet for people willing to do a buffet. Staff was friendly.

We went for lunch at the Podium on Saturday having bought a groupon voucher. It was absolutely brilliant, the Maitre d’hotel was so lovely, we’d emailed to change the time of the booking and they hadn’t received it but he found us a table within minutes and was so welcoming and pleasant. The service was fantastic and the food delicious. The lemon and coconut Russian tower was divine, as was the chicken soup and to be honest everything else that we had. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

My husband loves his breakfast and Podium sure proved its worth!! The little bar in the front was refreshing and staff were helpful and courteous. My early dinner was great with many choices to choose from!!

We have eaten here before and we were not disappointed this time again. The food in this restaurant is so good, very tasty and very fresh and hot on your plate. The service is very good, the wait staff are very professional, very friendly and very professional. We were there to celebrate a late anniversary present, after our meal we were presented with a plate with happy anniversary and two wonderful small cakes on. This was a very nice surprise, as we were full up they put our cakes into a lovely box so we could eat them the next day. We will definitely go back, it's so nice to get spoilt in a restaurant like this.

We took advantage of an offer on three courses and a glass of Prosecco. We chose from the la carte menu. We were told the price limit on each course. If we chose an item over the limit the difference would be added to the bill. Everything was reasonable but side dishes were not included and cost £7 each.

My Mum and I are big fans of afternoon tea, so my Mum bought me this one from BuyaGift.com. It's by far the most luxurious we have ever had! Everything we were served was a real taste sensation! The staff couldn't do enough and were literally everywhere, so we never had to wait long if we needed anything.

Visited with my husband, cousin & her husband whilst they were visiting from the US. The food and service were excellent - our desserts a work of art! We had a nice quiet table so we could chat, as we hadn’t seen each other for several years but we weren’t forgotten fir a minute, even as the restaurant filled up. This restaurant is on the ground floor (I had hoped for wonderful views but that’s a different restaurant). Decor was very tired and badly in need of an refresh, it all felt the same as it did in the 1970s (when I used to work nearby)... So, no “wow factor” but great food & staff!

Great place to have afternoon tea and a few drinks. Book early to avoid disappointment. Will make a lovely stop off during any trip to London.

The Podium at the London Hilton on Park Lane has become an old favourite and a destination restaurant for us several times a year. It is always reliable and serves dishes with a great deal of imagination and flair. This time we tried the Quick & Tasty section of the menu for our starters and were not disappointed. Omelette & fries for a first course may seem odd but it went down very well. My own Scottish smoked salmon was served with avocado, spinach and a poached egg atop sour dough bread - absolutely delicious and almost a meal in itself. I followed it with the Beer-battered fillet of haddock, a beautiful piece of fish, piping hot in its carapace of crisp batter, with chunky chips and mushy peas - well, who could ask for anything better? My guest enjoyed his Vegetarian burger, comprising beef tomato, caramelised onions, Portobello mushroom and chickpea pate on a beetroot bun - sounds good and it really was. After all that we could still manage desserts which at Podium are really obligatory as pastry chefs Emmanuel and Sam always come up with totally original ideas. Their Lemon & Coconut Russian tower and the Mango mousse with white chocolate ganache on a slab of shortbread were the best yet! We will certainly be back again, and again, and again!

We stayed at the attached Hilton Park Lane (which was wonderful) and we really enjoyed our breakfast each morning at Podium. The issue is the one time we decided to have dinner at the restaurant, we experienced all of the same service issues referenced by other reviewers. The meal itself was prepared well, but all of our interactions with the evening staff made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. We continued to have breakfast there every morning, but we never went back again for dinner.

Good example of how incompetent front of house service can ruin an experience, despite good service from staff in the actual restaurant. We visited for a ‘champagne chocoholic’ afternoon tea on weds 21st at 2pm, using a voucher we’d been gifted. I gave the woman at the front desk (a young lady in her early 20s) our name for the booking, which she found on her list. I gave her our voucher saying I wasn’t sure if she needed it, but I had it in case. At this point she opened it up and held it to my face, looking at me almost incredulously. I didn’t know how to respond and she finally asked me if I’d read the details of the voucher. I said yes. She asked me if I’d followed the instructions and booked online. Again, I said yes - explaining that that is why she had our name on the list of bookings. It soon became apparent she thought I hadn’t booked online (despite the fact our booking was on her list as an online voucher booking). Clearly this lady wasn’t the sharpest tool in the box, but she soon began to realise her mistake and attempted to backtrack. I asked her if there was a problem as her reaction was implying there was and she quickly said no and there’d be a wait for our table - we waited where she told us to for 15 minutes. Having then not heard from her, we went back inside to ask if our table was ready. She told us she’d looked for us but couldn’t see us (despite the fact we were sitting directly in front of her) and showed us to our seats. The service from Eli, Agnieska and Antonio was lovely and professional and the actual content of the tea was lovely - but the overall experience was somewhat dampened by the attitude of our totally incompetent, yet strangely over confident host! If the sole purpose of your job is to welcome and seat guests - and you’re failing at that - I’d advise some re-training is required (or a career change).

We were very much looking forward to our 'chocoholics afternoon tea' however felt that it did not live up to our expectations.

We had bought a voucher for a three-course meal for two with a glass of champagne as had the two friends we were with. On arrival we were shown to our table and the glass of champagne was produced. The waiter explained what our voucher covered from the menu and what the surcharge was for some items. We choose a variety of starters all of which were very tasty. We all went for the fillet steak for main course which was delicious served with tomato, mushrooms, fries and a choice of sauces and each steak was cooked exactly as ordered. We all managed to squeeze in a desert. Will definitely be back.

We had a voucher for 3 courses and wine and I somehow thought we might not get the "proper" meal. We did. It was perfect - the food, the service, the seating. Thankyou for making it special for our 30th Anniversary.

El plato de tomate y albahaca Terrine es una broma; Se compone de dos pequeñas piezas rectangulares de tomate y poco más. La carne estaba cocinada y nunca la encontramos en un carpaccio. Bastante sabroso, pero está mal. El plato estrella fue el tagliatelle que era excelente. El Stonebass estaba bien pero no increíble. I bought a voucher ahead for the afternoon tea as I wanted to treat my sister for her Birthday. Unfortunately the service was really disappointing, we were served quite quick but after that the staff just disappeared. We were hopping to have some kind of top-up of water at least as the cakes were quite sweet.

I enjoyed an excellent meal here with first class service. A bonus was, when coming out of the hotel we could ere Celine Dion singing in Hyde Park.

The ambiance is nothing special, menu is not very inspiring and the food and service is okay. We had the cauliflower soup and chickpea fritters to start, steak and cod for mains and the chocolate mousse and fruit plate to finish.

We were on a 2 day visit to London and this meal made our trip. As soon as we arrived the warm welcome we had made us feel at home and not just diners for the night. Time taken to discuss the menu & wines etc- couldn't be faulted which was greatly appreciated as some places can treat you as second class diners if there on a deal, not here!. Everything was perfect and the presentation, taste, textures and service couldn't not be faulted in any way-It was the best lamb I have had since last century but to die for was the chocolate dessert with the citrus foam -absolute perfection. We were so impressed, we are now returning again to London in 2 weeks time and have booked there for both evenings for our meal. Actions speak louder than words! A very big thank you to Luca and Antonio for rescuing our trip which had been marred by problems where we were staying as they made us completely forget , relax and enjoy- a credit to the Hilton and we cant wait to return . After getting married at the Hilton and returning for an afternoon tea special visit... well .. what can I say! The most amazing, warm and welcoming atmosphere, MOST delicious afternoon tea my mother and I have ever had made by the most incredible Chef Anthony Marshall and great team!

We have visited the Podium several times for afternoon tea but I must say that our experience this time was fantastic from the minute we arrived until the moment we left. This was a Groupon deal for 4, not that anyone would know from how we were treated. My husband has recently needed to use a wheelchair which I had not informed the restaurant of but that was swiftly dealt with, moving our group to a suitable table. Choices of teas was great, although I would like to see the silver needle tea back on the menu. Sandwiches came promptly and were delicious. Then came a beautiful selection of cakes and scones, when the waiter came with these I asked if the 2 chefs who won Bake off the professionals still worked at the Hilton, oh yes he replied one of them is working today would you like to meet him. Emmanuel came and chatted to us for about 15 minutes which was fantastic. We enjoyed all of the delightful desserts, scones and champagne, some of which had been made for the TV programme too. As we were leaving another chef came to chat to my husband about our afternoon, as well as door staff on the way out! I spoke to a member of staff from the management team to express our thanks for a wonderful experience, made extra special by staff who are clearly happy to “go the extra mile”. I would highly recommend the Podium, we will definitely return.

We enjoyed our champagne chocoholics Afternoon Tea and the venue was lovely. The sandwiches are ok. A bit tasteless and dry. I think they probably bulk make them. A little short on the toppings on a few but you can always have more sandwiches. One of the Afternoon Teas ordered was meant to be Gluten Free. When we arrived we checked with reception of the restaurant and our waiter that they were and we were assured one was. The sandwiches which arrived first were but when they delivered the cakes we realised we were not given a the gluten free ones but luckily realised just in time before any was eaten and after querying it they brought the Gluten free ones. The service was not great. Did not get the champagne until half way through the cakes despite asking twice for it. The same for more tea and water. The tea refill came about 20 minutes later!

Had a traditional afternoon tea. Very good but the cakes were a bit too sweet for our taste. I suppose this is how they are meant to be... Good services and good tea

Stopped by for drinks before lunch upstairs at Windows. Staff were friendly and attentive. Cocktails were lovely. Pretty pricey and a service charge was added.

The best I have had. Light, delicious and and divine food. Had a glass of champagne to accompany it which was lovely. Service was great. Will do this tea again. Fabulous selection of teas.

This was an amazing buffet breakfast. The service was impeccable and the food great. The fresh squeezed orange juice machine is very useful. The pastries were all incredible and the fruits fresh and tasty. The cooked section was well maintained and properly cooked.

I attended with my mother in law for a chocoholics afternoon tea. The staff were pleasant and the food was delicious. My only criticism is that there was too much sweet food! We couldn't actually eat everything that was delivered to our table but what we did have tasted divine. Recommend this venue.

The Podium Restaurant and Bar is located on the ground floor of The Hilton Hotel, first class service in pleasant surroundings.

From the excellent table service to the freshly made open sandwiches and scones, which were still warm. To the brilliant cakes and fancies what a way to while away an afternoon. We asked for some more tea which arrived in a few minutes. We were not pestered to pay a service charge like other places we have been to. The Ritz is still my favourite but this comes a close 2nd.

We had a lovely afternoon tea here recently. Although the actual restaurant is not as formal as places like The Ritz etc, the actual food itself was very good quality and the cakes were little works of art. I would definitely recommend it.

Went on a Groupon and had an excellent three course meal, plus excellent wine. The staff were great-it was within walking distant of our hotel. All in all a very pleasant evening-would recommend a visit.
