Excellent restaurant with tasty food and speedy delivery. We frequently order from Plympton Spice and we are never disappointed, the food always arrives hot and the delivery driver is friendly.

Ordered for delivery, so can’t speak to atmosphere. Food was an hour late, having had to chase it up. Ordered 1 x Tarka Dhal, Garlic Chilli Tikka Lamb, and garlic rice. Tarka dhal was watery liquid that tasted of nothing and I’m not convinced it actually had lentils in it. Garlic chilli lamb tasted bland, watered down, no heat or flavour to speak of Garlic rice was fine, the only thing keeping it at 2 stars. Shame really, thought I’d try this place for something new and have been really disappointed. Won’t be ordering from again 🫡

Great meal, Onion Bhajis were lovely. I tried a new dish called Achanok and I wasn’t disappointed with it, just the right amount of spice for me as I’m not great with spicy foods. Thank you we will be back and order again.

the driver was courteous and efficient

It was New Year’s Eve so the timing wasn’t great for the food to arrive but it was kind of expected, however the food was not worth the wait. The chicken tikka masala was quite nice with plenty of sauce and chicken although a few bits were grainy, but the lamb rogan Josh was chewy, medium heat and starting to go greasy. We tried a couple of bites to check but had to stop. We then both needed to go to the bathroom 3 hours later and on and off all night! We were both very disappointed

Spot on for timing yet the food was cold on this occasion and needed to be reheated. Food was lovely, yet receiving cold food is disappointing.

Very impressed with the food I received from this restaurant, despite it being new year eve and probably very busy for them the Indian is one of the best I’ve had.

First time ordering from Plympton Spice. I only have a basic curry, it was slightly hotter than others I’ve had before but enjoyed it. It was delivered nice and hot too.

Delicious food, arrived exactly when it said it was going to and was still hot when opened. Very large portions and great flavours

Took My 12 year old daughter out to her 1st genuine Indian restaurant. The service was excellent, My daughter ordered a chicken Mogli, being new experience she didn't know what the dish was, the staff member took the time to explain. Onion bahjis were beautifully cooked. Peshwari naan was cooked to perfection, and the chicken biriani was something else. Served with a vegetable soup cooked with spices. That was taken home for a meal the following day. My daughter and I were suitably impressed. Me and my team from work will be back on the 31st January for a team night out. Thanks for a lovely meal in relaxed atmosphere.

What went wrong? We have always enjoyed our food both in the restaurant and take away but tonight our meal was very disappointing. We are used to fluffy rice and flavour packed curries - tonight we had overcooked bland rice and a tasteless chicken Bhuna and mushroom Bhaji that had no spice to it at all. It was almost as if it came from a different restaurant. Hopefully just an off night.

Excellent for takeaway and very good value - couldn't have asked for a better curry. Was nice, thick and flavourful. Staff are nice, welcoming and professional. Highty recommended - one of the best, if not the best in Plympton.

Great food and good value. Most of us did the set menu and thoroughly enjoyed the food. A bonus that you can take your own alcohol and there's no corkage charge

Rice was watery, chicken was hard, madras sauce tasted like a micro meal, tried it due to good reviews but will stick to the Shapla !!

Amazing food and staff best in Plympton by far

Worst curry I’ve ever ordered. Total waste of money. The curry was watery and flavourless, we ordered two very different curries and they tasted and looked identical. Unfortunately over half of it went in the bin. Very disappointed.

Ordered here for the first time last night and really happy with everything. I collected my order and the staff were super friendly and the restaurant was busy, every table occupied. The food was tasty and most importantly - hot. Nothing worse than getting home to a luke warm curry. Poppadoms came with dips which not everywhere does these days. The onion bahjis are divine! Will definitely be ordering again. - PSA. If you order over the phone on Wednesdays and Thursdays for collection you get 10% off! Definitely recommend

I love indian food, I make a lot at home and dine out at indian restaurants frequently. This is by far the worst Indian food i’ve ever had, possibly the worst meal I have ever had full stop. The dishes were really poorly seasoned, flavours were all off and just simply inedible. They somehow managed to send out doughy, undercooked naan?!! The ‘saag paneer’ was made with cheddar, no paneer at all, what a joke! The food made my partner actually vomit within 5 minutes of eating some and made me feel very sick. We barely touched the food and left shortly after tasting all our dishes. I feel most of the good reviews may be to do with people being able to bring their own booze and having been too drunk to actually taste the food? Dont eat here if you actually enjoy traditional Indian food.

Me and the misses did get food poisoning, curies are very white washed and not traditional but that is sort of expected on the coast of UK.

A large group of 12 all were happy with what we had. All good time as well. I was happy because they do mango lassi, and then I enjoyed the chicken mango delight. Was super yummy. Staff were really friendly. Two people of the group were regulars, and you could tell as they were even friendly to them.

Rogan Josh was very poor smelt and taste rotten half was thrown away. Tandoori starter was alright nowhere near the quality of others around

Best Indian around! We Normally have delivery and it’s spot on everytime! I also visited for dine in over Christmas for a works do and they were very accommodating.

Tasty food which arrived hot and on time, we appreciated the popadoms and pickles which was added to our order.

The worst biryani iv purchased tasted weird hardly any meat in it and what was is tough/chewy not what you expect for an expensive meal I won’t be ordering again il stick with the other Indian in Plympton

We order for delivery, it’s the best curry I’ve ever had. We used to order from another one in Ridgeway but I heard good reviews about Plympton Spice and decided to give it a go. I could honestly have it everyday and never get bored 🙂 😋 food is hot, the delivery is really quick, normally says 1 hour but its half that, drivers are always very polite, i don't know what more i can say besides Amazing 11/10 🙏

Lovely food and the staff were friendly. The restaurant could have been warmer- I did not warm up the whole evening. It was good that you can take your own drink!

Best curry I've had for ages. Used to go to a nearby one, but the service is terrible. A very long wait and the meal was average. So, I thought I'd give Plympton Spice a try. Wasn't disappointed friendly staff, lovely meal. The bonus is not being ripped off for drinks as you can take your own and not be charged for corkage.

Just a great place to eat. Everything from mild British favourites to full on hot, spicy goodness. Genuine food with a friendly professional service. Bring your own alcohol (no extra fee - corkage).

Food was cold on arrival and completely tasteless. Chicken Bhuna was oily with no flavour, taka Dahl was again oily and tasteless. Only think that had some flavour was the mushroom dish, everything needed salt and some spice added. Won’t recommend worse Indian food I’ve ever ordered

Wasn't up to the standard of other times I have visited, food was nice, no more than that.

Order came within 40 minutes of it being placed. All of the food was incredible! This will be our new Indian to go to!

Kukd order delayed. Chased up and given ETA. After 30 mins called to check. Driver couldn’t find address. Driver called when delivering 45 mins late and still missed property despite explicit instructions. I hope it’s not cold, it shouldn’t be. It was…..

Lovely curry, only problem was dish was only 3/4 full which is never the case anywhere else. Rice was very to. If curry had full portion in dish would have scored 5 stars. Dissapointed with that.

The most amazing Indian I've had! Tasted so fresh. We absolutely cannot wait to come back here. The staff where lovely and helpful. Bringing your own drinks aswel was a bonus.

Great atmosphere and very friendly & welcoming staff. We in fact reached just before their closing time, but they welcomed us and served fresh, tasty food - and even made us fresh lassi though it was well past their closing time!! Highly recommended for the great taste and hospitality!!

Sadly it was very tasteless. It turned up on time and hot, but the curry was very oil heavy and had absolutely no taste. The Tarka dal tasted like coloured water. Shame as we will never order from this place again. Wanted to support local but try somewhere new. Sadly it did no pay off.

We have lived in Plympton 20 years and never been here. What a gem! We booked last minute and had such a warm welcome. Food was fresh and tasty - we left very full 😄 Lovely friendly staff with great knowledge of the menu giving delicious recommendations, very attentive, nice relaxed atmosphere. Even surprised the kids with a fun penguin ice cream after we had already paid the bill. We felt really welcomed and valued as customers. Customer service at it's best! Food was exceptional! Highly recommend ☺️

Not bad, but not good either! Mixed starter was meh! The tandoori garlic chilli chicken was swimming in oil, but was ok! The lamb passanda was sweet and more like soup....garlic naan was disappointingly non garlicky. The onion salad was an ONION salad... had only two bits of tomatoe and 4 bits of cucumber! The minty sauce was weird...a bit like Toothpaste. Will not go here again.

All 3 curries were watery and cold. Chips undercooked. Worst quality Indian I have had. Will be requesting full refund

The atmosphere was friendly, nothing was too much trouble, staff were great - onion bhaji were light and full of flavour, all the food was served hot, and the flavours were authentic. There was no rush to move you on, which made the evening more relaxed. The owner is lovely .. we have booked again for next month
