I visit Nibana regularly and very happy to recommend the restaurant. Shah runs a very tight ship, with the staff being very attentive and helpful. The food is excellent too, very tasty and always arrives at the table hot. A excellent range of spicy and milder curries for the the not so adventurous diner. A great range of beers to complement the food too!

Disappointing Anniversary Meal – Would Not Recommend We decided to order from this establishment for our anniversary celebration last night at 8:00 PM, hoping for a memorable meal. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but enjoyable. We ordered the Korma King Prawn, Buhna King Prawn, Peshwari Naan, Chilli Naan, and Sag Aloo. Given the positive feedback from friends and my partner’s previous visit over a year ago, we had high expectations. However, the food fell far short. The King Prawns were unappetizing—mangled, reconstituted, and completely flavorless. The Korma sauce was watery and lacked any depth of flavor, while the Buhna King Prawns tasted oily and artificial. The Peshwari Naan was dry and powdery with no discernible sweetness or flavor. The accompanying dips were equally disappointing. The mango chutney tasted like warm, puréed syrup, while the white and red onion pickles were just plain chopped onions, completely unseasoned and lacking freshness. The yogurt dip was watery, bland, and unappealing. To make matters worse, both my partner and I experienced severe gastrointestinal distress after eating what little we could stomach from the meal. I attempted to contact the restaurant by phone to raise these concerns, but no one answered. Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this establishment to others.

This is what happened: so the waiter asked what drinks we would like while ordering the food, and we ordered a lemonade and a soft drink. Then he asked, “With that, would you like some pappadams?” and we said, “Sure!” He made it seem like they were complimentary. Right after he left, we checked if they were complimentary because if not, we weren’t craving them enough to spend £4 on pappadams. We quickly went to the waiter to let him know we didn’t need them unless they were complimentary. This was maybe 30 seconds after we placed the order. However, another waiter (a different guy who was standing at the reception area) stalled us until the pappadams were served to our table. Then he said they were already “cooked”, so we couldn’t cancel. The pappadams were served with a pickle tray. Honestly, the pappadams tasted okay with the different flavors in the pickle tray, so my friends and I were fine with it—until we checked the bill. They charged £4 for the pappadams and ANOTHER £2.95 for the pickle tray, which we didn’t order but was just served alongside. I wouldn’t have minded paying if I’d known we were being charged beforehand. We spent around £70 in total, so it’s not about the money—we’re not stingy. But don’t mislead customers by making food seem complimentary and then charging for it. Also don’t stall and force customers to pay for something they tried to cancel when they realized it wasn’t free. And definitely don’t charge customers for things they didn’t order, like the pickle tray. They never asked if we wanted the pickle tray. It just came with the pappadams, and we were expected to pay for it. This kind of practice is not acceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If you’re planning to go, DONT GO. If you still don’t have a choice make sure they’re not trying to scam you with extra charges for things you didn’t order or misleading with foods like showing them are complementary but charging you later. Very bad experience—extremely disappointed. Never going back there again.

New favourite restaurant, ever. Having been recommended this place from multiple people, we finally gave it a go tonight for a takeaway. We got the set meal for 2 as the price was incredible for the amount of food you get. Each dish was unique in flavour, they were so moreish and hearty. We already can't wait to try more of their dishes, this time in person! If you love Indian food, this is absolutely the restaurant for you!!

Christmas works evening out. Seven of us dined, starters, mains, sides and dips. Good selection of beers and other drinks. Food was brilliant, the service matched it. Everything about the experience was great. I will definitely eat here again.

I had a takeaway curry and garlic Naan from there. It was amazing. Best indian restaurant in Plymouth. I will Difinently come back.

Given it 3 stars for the atmosphere as everything else is great but confess I haven't actually eaten in. That said the food it great I only use 2 Indian in plymouth and this one is my favourite food is great service is great delivery punctual absolutely no complaints and def recomend the options for dishes below doesn't have what I eat gf loves the tika masala the jalfrezzi and the pathia are great

Can’t lie this was one of the best curries I e had. Lamb Rizzala. Nice quality meat and a decent spice without being too much. Bloody lovely!

Always consistent with a delicious meal, whether you eat in or takeaway, this is 100% the go-to for most Plymothians who like curry.

Our first meal here for the 3 of us and what a treat! We're all curry veterans, 2 of us from Manchester and its curry mile and This N' That. The verdict of all 3 of us was our meals were faultless and in fact I had the best lamb biryani I've ever tasted - the lamb was succulent and plenty of it too. All 3 of us said we'd be back and we're already passing the word around. Keep it up please.

Please make sure you understand the difference between indian restaurant and bangladeshi restaurant. This is a Bangladeshi restaurant and the quality is aligned. If you are from london and habitual of good quality of indian food this is not your place to go. Choose a high street nandos or wagamama instead

We had a takeaway, Tadka dal, Rice and Chilli-Garlic Naan. The Tadka dal was simply bland and had NO tadka ….at least not visible or in taste!! And the chilli-Garlic naan seemed to be an off the shelf, grilled/toasted one rather than freshly made.

The best curry I’ve had in the UK the saag panneer was delicious and the chicken with stuffed keema masala was amazing Kids had butter chicken which was also beautiful

Awfully bland food not worth the atrocious price. Ordered starters and main course with water, cider and organe juice. Ended up spending £100plus. The balti came in a serving dish instead of a wok pan, the flavours were just the same in all dishes. Mediocre restaurant, wonder where does all the high ratings come from. The basics of the place was allright, clean tables, good ambiance etc however still not the best curry house compared to what you can get in London, Birmingham or Manchester.

We had a works do meal here. The food is amazing, the service was brilliant & the place was spotlessly clean. It was hot & sunny, the air con was a blessing.

Had a takeaway delivered on a Friday and cannot fault Nibana for anything. Food arrived on time to the minute, was excellent value, order was perfect and the food was amazing as always. Would recommend Nibana to anyone.

If you enjoy a chocolate mint at the end of the meal then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a good quality authentic Curry then don’t go here, it’s absolute rubbish. I have no clue what any of the positive reviews are about. Totally gutted I took the time to visit. 1 hour of my life I will never get back 👎👎

Picked up a vindaloo,bubna and Bombay aloo last night. Vindaloo has to be the tastiest one I've ever had. Food was delicious.

I've enjoyed a curry since my first try in 1964! Many different locations and standards, the Nibana is the best in all those years. Great food, service, attention to detail sets them apart. Never disappoints!

Booked a table of 12 to celebrate my mum and dad's 60th wedding anniversary. My son had a birthday on the same day, and my daughter also had a birthday 4 days earlier, so we had a joint celebration. The service was great. Nothing was too much bother for them. They even allowed us to play my parents the song my dad sang to my mum when they were courting many years ago 😍 🥰. The food was delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thank you, Nibana, for helping us to create a beautiful treasured memory ❤️.

Ordered 2 chicken madras, egg fried rice pilau rice and sheesh kebab. Well what can I say the madras tasted like chicken in gravy no spice at all. Both rice's were tasteless. And as for the kebab I Can't even describe. Very disappointed as loads of people said the food was nice. Total waste of £35

Visiting from USA and dined there tonight , food was excellent as was service and ambiance would not hesitate to recommend this place. Looking forward to next visit.

Was a nice restaurant, polite staff, food was okay but found it a little bland even ordering a hot curry.

Thought we would try a restaurant rather than a local for our valentines takeaway. They said it would be 1 hour 15 however 2 hours later it hadn’t come - 2 phone calls later it arrived. To be fair the food was piping hot and quite nice, although the korma was tasteless and had split. Not good enough for £40 these days

Had such a lovely evening here...the food was the best Indian I've had in Plymouth for sure.

We love Indian food. My wife (not Indian!) is a great cook and the best we have been used to having is what she cooks at home. Occasionally we go out to Indian restaurants which we find either offer friendly service and not bad food or the other way around. Nibana is the first we have found to combine both to a high level. No wonder they are busy. Long may their success continue.

Now here is a a find! Classy, authentic Indian restaurant. Superb menu choice and exceptionally friendly owner and staff! Will be back!

The food was decent, not outstanding like it used to be, but still pretty good. Expensive now too though, 35 quid for a takeout for 2 people. It used to be a treat to dine out, now it's a treat to take away.

Great food at reasonable prices with good service. Very busy when we were and ended up being quite noisy which was a bit unfortunate.

We visited for a birthday celebration. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was plentiful and tasty. The atmosphere was pleasant. A good venue for an intimate family gathering.

Used this takeaway for years but gone down hill. Meat is tough, always over charge by about £2 hoping we wouldn’t notice

We went for our Wedding Anniversary like we do every year and never disappointed. It is not the biggest of restaurants so I would always advise booking if you can. But because it is not the biggest makes it so much nicer because you get more of a personal service.

First time of going here last night and won't be the last, great find! We went in to order our take away, the staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. Although we had a take away we could see into the restaurant and it was spotlessly clean, really nicely decorated with a great but relaxing atmosphere. We had a drink while we were waiting for our food order to be prepared, again a nice little seating area to wait for take aways. Very pleasantly surprised with the wait time, was 12 minutes for our order to be ready. Really recommend.

First time here,will certainly return. Lovely food from extensive menu,served quickly by very pleasant staff. For a Tuesday evening in a non tourist part of Plymouth it was surprisingly busy. Very reasonable prices too!

Well, we have a choice. Really good or evarage taste for Indian takeaway. Nibana is the top. Genuine Indian food flavour. Their service is fantastic. All food serves taste amazing and original. From all Indian food I've tasted, this this the best and nobody can beat them in Plymouth.

Ordered a takeaway Sunday evening, the meal was only warm when it arrived, ordered Chicken sags which contained more onion than chicken, the order was wrong when delivered. Phoned to inform them and was told they were busy so they would phone back to refund the overcharged amount never heard from them. Will never use this restaurant again.

Just finished an excellent garlic chilli chicken at the Nibana restaurant in Plymouth. Previous reviews views of this dish on Google were not wrong; it was really good. Hot, but not too hot (spice-wise), just right for me. Coming from not far from Wolverhampton - one of the curry capitals of the world - this is certainly up there. I travel all around the country sampling curries, and this is certainly on a par with anywhere. Give it a try. I am staying in the Futures Inn on business, which is only 15 mins walk away, so a good alternative for a super evening meal. Oh, and by the way, the sheek kebab starter wasn't bad either. And a couple of pints of Cobra washed it all down nicely. Cheers, Graham from Shropshire.

I have been a frequent customer at Nibana for many years, and I have always been impressed with their consistent high quality of food and service. No matter how many times I visit, the staff always provides great service, making sure that we are well taken care of. The menu offers a wide variety of options and the quality of food is consistently high. I particularly enjoy the taste and variety of their curries and the side dishes, everything is always cooked to perfection and full of flavour. We also always order takeaways from here whenever we want a good dinner at home. Even though I have moved around Plymouth throughout the years, I always make sure to go back to Nibana for their delicious food and great service. I can confidently recommend Nibana to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for a sit-down meal or a take-away, Nibana is the perfect choice.

Food was delicious! We ordered garlic chilli chicken which was spot on, we loved the hot and soft naans, and ordered a chicken tikka biryani. The biryani was the only item that is a 4 out of 5 for me as there were some fennel seeds in there and when we don't usually use fennel in our biryanis.. maybe it's just a regional thing.. but all in all lovely and I'd definitely recommend this place. We go to a lot of Indian restaurants so you can take our word. My husband and I didn't do a reservation, just called beforehand to make sure there was a table.

Only ever ordered take-out/delivery from Nibana, but food has been consistently good every time. We do get the odd chewy lamb from time to time, but it doesn't happen often. We tried many places in Plymouth but Nibana is easily the best. We used Nibana when our family visit and they say it's the best Indian they ever had!

Have only ever ordered takeout/delivery from Nibana, have done so for at least two years and keep going backs as broadly have always been delighted with the taste, spice and heat of the dishes. Not every order has been issue free, particularly at busy times, but usually they have done their best to resolve. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and efficient.
