Came for lunch with ex colleagues. Lovely meal with plenty of choice. Great service from a very friendly gentleman. Will definitely be back.

What a fantastic place to go for a quiet drink & food, plenty of seats inside & outside the food was absolutely gorgeous staff were very friendly.

Encantadora comida familiar para 10 esta noche, el personal era muy servicial y la comida era encantadora, teníamos 2 personas con alergias alimentarias y esto se trató adecuadamente, quería un postre del menú infantil y eso no fue ningún problema, el personal era tan servicial.

Went for Sunday dinner with family members, we were great with a warm welcome and shown to our table very fast. Our server was Seren she was fast and very thorough with taking our order. Food was lovely warm and did not have to wait long for our meals.

Lovely lunch, no need to book as on a Monday, sat by a roaring fire, beautiful meal and surroundings, all served by the lovely Sue. Thank you.. Can't wait to return ☺️

Came in Valentine’s Day evening The waitress Sue was fantastic attentive & friendly, sue made sure we had everything we needed The food was delicious we had the chateaubriand to share & vanilla cheesecake for dessert Will definitely return soon

DO NOT GO HERE AFTER AN EVENT. We were loyal customers for many years and unfortunately its my birthday just after Valentines. We went there tonight for my birthday meal to be told bluntly that our choices from the menu were not available so we were forced to order what was available. Birthday drink? Forget that one too. I was told that as they are moving away from Fever Tree. They only had slimline tonic and that was the on tap slimline. So. not only were we forced to order food that was not our first choice. We were also forced to order something different to drink. The starter was awful. Mine was underdone. My husband had some that were under. Some that were over. Our main course consisted of 90% gristle and fat. Cooked like the starter. We had asked for a doggie bag with the starter (which resulted in us being given a container for us to fill ourselves). Having tried to eat the main. I asked my husband to pay so we could go. I couldn't face having to look at the dessert menu only to be told what wasn't available. My husband explained it hadn't been the best meal. It got quie heated. Gristle was taken off. But we still paid through the nose for what we couldn't eat. No apology either. Do yourselves a favour and give it a miss after busy events. Pic of our doggie box. Not sure our dog will eat it either.

Delicious Sunday lunch, friendly and efficient service from Sue, dog friendly and a toasty log fire for a lovely winter atmosphere.

Lovely experience today for lunch. We did arrive early for our booking and management were more than accommodating to us. We were served by Seren who was very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us :) thank you :)

Came here for a day out and decided to stop for lunch at the Plymouth Arms. Food was delicious! I ordered the Baked Scallops & King Prawns which came with toasted ciabatta & my partner ordered the Fillet Steak. Service was great. Adam & Piers came & checked on us, plus a nice surprise from the chef Stuart. Will definitely be returning.

Came with my 2-Son’s and friend of mine, which we all enjoy the food @ Drinks just so good service, most definitely come back again. My 2-son’s are Autistic they enjoy it most important as they just relax had a lovely time.. 3rd of Feb… Mon… We went to Plymouth Arms Last night and we were very Disappointed of the outcome Service wise, we had a long wait for our food plus my youngest son has Autism and waiting not always easy for him.. What we don’t understand we order our food but these people who came in afterwards, had there’s b4 us which I find completely backwards my poor boyz weren’t happy.. When the woman brought our food she then caught my meat b4 it went on the floor.. by hand… it wasn’t busy night… It was nearly an- hour for food, we decided we won’t be coming back again.. Very Disappointed @ very poor service.. We will be going somewhere else, plus there wasn’t much choice in the Menu not good for a Restaurant:…..

The staff were very helpful and efficient especially Molly who made sure our celebratory meal went so well. She was great!

Had a lovely meal here with friends. The food was well presented, good size portions, hot and tasty. It’s cosy and warm in the pub with three log fires around the premises. I will definitely be back again soon!

Everything was excellent- the food was delicious, the service was great. We were a large group all wanting to pay individually, which got complicated when we had to work out taking off the deposit but the staff explained it clearly and made it easy for us, though it took much more of their time. We also really enjoyed the real fire, the decorations, the setting and the ambience. It's a really attractive pub, very nicely decorated, including the toilets!

Difficult one this. The food was good, but they were very short staffed, due to illness. The staff who were there were very apologetic and kept us informed. I am fully prepared to give them another go, as, all in all, it was a nice pub.

We had an amazing Christmas dinner at The Plymouth Arms and were served by Molly, she was incredible from start to finish! Such a great day!

I booked a table weeks in advance of my son and daughter’s birthdays but on arrival at the venue was told by the manager that he had been trying to contact me literally 2 hours before our booking to let me know that there were limited vegetarian choices as they had supply issues and had run out of most of it. I had missed these calls and, as 3 members of our group are vegetarian, it wasn’t ideal but said it was ok, we would manage. We were seated in an empty restaurant which surprised me as online they were fully booked for the evening. We were then advised that they had run out of nearly half of the items on the menu, not just vegetarian options. It appeared that this had been the case all day and frontline staff had had to bear the brunt of unhappy customers. With no other people in the restaurant (I can only think that they were contacted and all cancelled due to the limited menu available), staff setting up tables for the following day around us along with pretty much everything we wanted to order from the menu being unavailable, the evening was extremely flat and disappointing. We were given a 20% discount but this hardly made up for our birthday celebrations being completely spoiled. Given the high number of bookings in the run up to Christmas they should have been better prepared than this and to be honest would think twice before booking a meal here again.

Good spot for a family lunch. The pub has definitely improved since I was last in. It feels a lot lighter brighter cleaner then I remember. A good selection of drinks and varied food menu with plenty of choice for adults and children. Good . Great attentive service from Molly too.

Really enjoyed the Plymouth Arms. We had visited St. Fagans heritage museum with family visiting from Australia. We ordered food at lunchtime as it was delicious. The bar staff were very attentive and it was a very enjoyable trip to a delightful pub. Would certainly recommend.

Food was great and dog friendly which was a must for our group. The manager (I think), rearranged the table bookings so we could remain on our table after our meal for drinks. Very impressed with the venue - would be great in summer with the large garden. I highly recommend the Plymouth Arms in terms of food quality, fantastic service, great venue and plenty of parking. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

The only thing damp and squibby was the torrential rain dropped by Storm Bert. However, as soon as we stepped into the Plymouth Arms we were greeted with warm smiles, surroundings and obvious cleanliness. The service was good, the food was delicious and eventually the rain abated and the dry walk to the car park was much appreciated.

I had the delight of eating and dining in the Plymouth Arms yesterday, the food was lovely and the service was even better. The waitress Nadia was really helpful and really went above and beyond to cater for us. We will most definitely be coming back in the near future!

Always been one of my favourite pubs on the outskirts of Cardiff. I think some changes have recently happened the new decor is lovely and tastefully done. The menu is fresh with a good mix of gastro pub classics along with some exciting fusion ideas. The portions are massive now compared to how I remember and the food is equally delicious the only thing I noticed was tram was stretched thin on the floor. But this isn't a slight on them but just more of a sign of the times if you're patient like myself and come from hospitality you won't find it an issue. If like some you're an impatient want everything now sort of prat you should probably stay home.

Not worth the money. Management is not good. Offers available are not honored, will be taking to trading standards. Asahi is 6.35 a pint. In London it's 5.45. Not loyal to existing customers. Lost a loyal customer

Ate here on a Thursday lunchtime very disappointed, food was brought out all different times , my daughters burger had fallen apart on the plate and the waitress dropped one of the onion rings on the floor and just left it there , my fish & chips was stone cold so it went back to the kitchen then come back out once the others in our group had finished there food , starter plates was left on the table the whole duration , really poor cold food and poor service definitely one to avoid , I had a email offering me a voucher I responded back and it’s been ignored !!!!

Went for the set price lunch on a Monday. Food was good. Despite there being quite a lot of staff, the older ones were too interested in talking to each other or telling the younger staff what to do.

Lovely welcome and service from Sue and the food was lovely . If I had to be picky gravy cake with pie on thin side but more than enough lovely gravy in the steak and venison pie so no issues

Some veg and potatoes were hard to chew, gravy portions small and runny.

Food was cooked well as well as presented, but I think was slightly overpriced for the quality.

We were a bit disappointed with the Sunday lunch. My turkey had more fatty skin than meat and my husband had the trio of meats which was very fatty too. The carrots were huge (one way to fill the plate) and hard, parsnip was hard too, the roasties weren't crisp and the cauliflower cheese wasn't particularly cheesy. The gravy was delicious though.

Have always liked the atmosphere at the Plymouth Arms, food has been a bit hit and miss in the past but called in today and very much enjoyed the fishfinger sandwich. Lovely, chunky pieces of haddock on tasty ciabatta with decent fries included. What really blew me away though was the service, my friend and I called in with our two young babies so asked for a table out of the way, the gentleman who served us provided a fab seat in a separate room where we could make as much noise as we wanted without disturbing anyone! He was very attentive and although we were juggling lunch with babies, he made it really easy and enjoyable. Didn’t catch his name but he was a Lancashire chap - thanks again! :-)

It's the best Sunday roast I've ever had.. I went for the slow cooked pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious.. the meat was simply just melting in my mouth, the crackling was crispy, the Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, and vegetables were as good as you could expect from a proper restaurant. No complaints at all from me. Hubby had fillet sea bass and king prawns, served with baby potatoes, peas, broccoli, and a creamy white wine sauce and he was content with everything. Definitely will be my go-to place for Sunday roast.

A solid quality pub with food quality you would expect from a Vintage Inn chain.

Lovely meal with lots of choice. Weather outside was awful but our experience was cosy, friendly and welcoming . Our server, Nadia, was very sweet and nothing was too much trouble. We left feeling completely satisfied and look forward to returning soon.

Had a lovely meal celebrating my mums birthday. Italia was our server and she was fantastic. She helped us with the birthday cake and balloons. Definitely recommend visiting!

Very disappointing experience. Tasteless food - 2 of our party chose garlic prawns. Totally lacking in taste, no sign of garlic or any oil they could have been cooked in. We asked for a small change in side dish. When it arrived - no change.We queried but was told no change at all could be made to the menu. Chips worst in a long time. We are used to dining out but this was an experience not to be repeated and very expensive for the quality.

The food was superb with durst class service. We had a local sparkling wine, Glyndwr, which I highly recommend.

Not impressed at all very disappointed with the food it was undercooked and lacked presentation and the length of time we had to wait for it was ridiculous. The only good thing about the whole lunchtime was your waitress she was polite and helpful. Will definitely not be returning again.
