Attended this venue for a post funeral reception, staff were very attentive, and the food provided was very welcome for the sad circumstances that brought me here. Parking is free, however be sure to enter car registration at bar before you settle down for the day. Parking bays quite numerous, Be aware if coming from M42 / Stratford direction, will require turning across traffic on dual carriageway and not everyone will pause to allow you to enter driveway as this section of Stratford Road can be very busy.

Really disappointed with our latest visit. We have regularly ate at the Plume in Shirley for several years ..including Christmas Day lunches. I'm really quite sad to have to write this but the pub, the service and the quality of food has drastically dropped over the last few months. The service is dreadful. The new staff aren't up to anywhere near the level the previous team were. The toilets were scruffy as was the furniture and the whole of the pub. The bar was empty compared to how busy it used to be, the drinks were flat and the carvery just isn't as good as it always was. It was ages after we finished eating before our plates were cleared and when they did clear the table, they didn't ask if we wanted dessert or anything else so we ordered desserts via the app (strawberry shortbread sundae). After waiting 20 minutes we asked a waitress where they were. She checked and bought them out so god knows how long they had been there for but they were warm, melting and very badly presented, half the size of what they used to be, hardly any strawberries or shortbread and looked an absolute mess. I don't know what has happened over the last couple of months or so but it really isn't anywhere near up to the standard it was. I don't think we will be visiting again to be honest as Hillfield Farm and the Toby Carvery (Robin Hood) have far exceeded the Plume over recent months. We definitely will not risk Christmas Day lunch this year.

Came for a quick drink before an early evening meal at a nearby restaurant. We have not been here for some time and we were surprised to find that the lounge bar resembled a kindergarten along with a variety of parents who had obviously been imbibing for quite a few hours. Most of the toddlers were allowed to run amok, with no restraint but more like encouragement from the adults. Absolute bedlam. Beer was good and well priced.

Fantastic food as ever ! Big shout out to Carl on the pizza deck, makes the best pizzas around 🍕 always so friendly and happy to see us. Will be back for more pizza very soon…

Lovely staff, great carvery. the male manager was very welcoming to our party. Shame that one individual customer was verbally abusive to him, and caused a scene upsetting the children around. The manage handled it professionally and did not deserve the abuse he got.

Fantastic experience here at the plume, quick and effective service received we came in here for carveries and might I just say it was truly amazing, everything fresh and hot. Great service and always good too know they are so helpful when it comes to allergy advice around orders

Usually enjoy our visits here but today was a bit slap dash due to the lack of staff just one poor lady running the bar and restaurant on her own, there was management there apparently but didn't see her getting help of them sadly I just hope she gets the praise she deserves 😢

The food is definitely fab, but the service and the staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Especially Neive, she cannot go enough for you and us always pleasant and smiling. I would definitely recommend this for restaurant

The food here is excellent and all chefs very friendly and helpful. However the pricing structure continues to frustrate me. They have a fixed price menu which last night I ordered three mains and three Desserts from but because I did not state that I was ordering from the fixed price menu, I was charged full price. I have never heard anything like this. One thing I think is a backward step is to now have to go to the bar to order but whatever happened to customer service. Every other place I go to, the staff clearly point out special offers etc. If as the young lady stated I should have pointed out that I was ordering from the fixed price menu, then it should clearly state that on the menu.. This is bureaucracy gone mad and I feel that I am losing interest in this place. It might explain why the place is nearly always empty when I am there. Whatever happened to good customer service.

Came on Sunday 13 august , family of 7 we all had Sunday roasts , and we had a lovely girl who took are orders of drinks and food, the carvery was lovely and plenty of choice piping hot, place was spotless, and the manager was very helpful and accommodating, makes a lovely change to go in a restaurant and have a nice meal and relax , we shall be returning very soon thank you all

Went here for my friends dads 90th birthday meal. 28 of us & we all had a great time. Food was fabulous & the staff looked after us all, especially my mom! She’d been here for lunch 2 days previously with friends & fell carrying her food back from the carvery. After her fall the staff called paramedics but it was a good few hours wait for an ambulance The staff cleaned & dressed her wound & sat with her for an hour to check she was ok before leaving. I took her to the hospital after. When we went into the birthday meal 2 days after, Gareth the manager recognised her straight away, even remembering her name! Made a fuss of her asking how she was doing now etc. The staff here are so genuinely nice & the food was delicious!!

Visited this place after a day out with the kids. Catered well for the kids, who done surprisingly well, and the food was lovely. Had mixture of pizza n burger meals, all done with a reasonable wait. Best pizza I've had in a while. Best bit for the kids was the desserts, with ice cream and toppings. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Pleasantly surprised. Would recommend to others.

This is one of the best carveries around. The meats are always nice and tender( even the beef) and a good selection of vegetables. Good price too, very reasonable and the staff are always friendly and polite.

Visited for a family meal which was pre booked for a party of 10. Arrived on time and restaurant was not busy. We ordered a mix of Carvery dinners burgers and pizzas and were not made aware of any problems or delays. People having Carvery waited about 15 minutes than had their meals assuming other food would follow shortly but an hour later the others were still waiting. It was just so bad from here that all I can say is don’t bother!

Amazing restaurant & amazing staff it's a shame STONEHOUSE has decided to use EUROPARKS THE most thieving car parking company in UK. It says register your vehicle we did we spent 1hr 19 mins betsween eating /7 setting up satnav for homeward journey. The Manager a blond haired lady was lovely even waited to show us to our table while we registered. And then we got a PARKING FINE FOR 85£ Which I will not PAY as it's day light robbery & as we were dining there why would we pay? I hope the Plume of feathers picks up the phone & speaks to me as so far they're NOT ANSWERING the phone. So if pubs & restaurants or anywhere else wants to use this NEFARIOUS BUNCH OF ROBBERS WE WILL not SUPPORT they're businesses.

We have visited other Stonehouse Restaurants recently so we thought we would try breakfast here as we were impressed with the others but sadly this restaurant didn’t live up to the expectations of the others.We arrived and waited at the entrance as instructed by the sign, nobody came and we could see through the window and door that it wasn’t particularly busy. In the end I stuck my head around the bar area to see if I could get someones attention.We were shown to our seat without any explanation of how to order or covid measures ( we were asked at the other restaurant if we had been since the new measures were in place) obviously we knew but it wasn’t very well organised or explained for someone who had not been.We ordered and were then told we would be called up when it was our turn.Nobody came for ages and our drinks and toast were getting cold, there seemed to be no chef at the hot plate or any other customers. We had to ask if we could go up, the staff member said casually, yeah you should be ok. We waited for the chef to appear, another member of staff approached and said she would fetch the chef, it appeared like they had other important things to do rather than looking after their customers, I felt we were a nuisance rather than a customer. Something I’ve not felt in the other Stonehouse establishments.The food was hot and tasty and we were served quickly and had plenty of whatever we chose.Again we had to track someone down for the bill.We used the toilets and was appalled to find no toilet paper or hand soap and in this current pandemic where we are encouraged to wash wash wash our hands I felt this was most unsatisfactory.It was only about 10am, therefore should have been checked and stocked ready for the day ahead and not really had chance to “run out” from that morning. My feeling is probably hadn’t been checked for a while, leading me to wonder if they had even been cleaned thoroughly.Great little breakfast but sadly due to other factors, won’t be returning.Felt completely safe and at ease with covid measures at other restaurants but not confident in the team here. So pulled in on off chance today as saw carvery sign So greeted shown to table after being told where to enter car registration for the parking Choice of seat Chef told us to wait and replaced all veg so fresh Good serving size and very friendly server Food was a great quality , piping hot and tbh as close to a home cooked roast taste as you can get Jamie was waiting the tables and again was very polite With two large carvery, two pints and one pudding it came to £28I def feel this £14 per head was well worth it for the food quality and service provided which was far superior to many more expensive inner city restaurants Well done guys

This has always been a favorite of my family. Always clean, hot food and great service. We had worried about what C-19 would change. It actually got better. I would have never have thought it could improve as much as it did. You need to pre-book, but there was plenty of spaces. Once there you are checked at the door. Shown to your seat by the extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Drinks and food orders taken at the speed you want. No pressure, no rush. Food from the carvery is placed on the plate by the chef. No constantly checking if you want more or if your food is ok. But as soon as you need someone they are straight over.Would 100% recommend and we will be back

Absolutely disgusted. Issued with a parking ticket when dining in your restaurant with our 2 grandchildren. We dine with you regularly. We have bank statements to prove we were there at time stated. Can you explain this.

I have been meeting my friend at the Plume and Feathers for more than twenty years or more, most Thursday evenings. It is a convenient place for us to meet. However, they will no longer get our custom. To be honest, the terrible state of the toilets and the loudness of the pub quiz on Thursday evenings has made the place uncomfortable but we encountered the last straw on Feb 13th. Fairly recently, the pub has brought in cameras to scan entrance to and exit from the car park. Although the need to enter the car's registration is clearly signed in the pub, it is very easy to forget. I have just received a notice of a fine for £85, or £50 if I pay sufficiently quickly. I had met my friend on Feb 13th and we had spent our usual evening in the pub together but it turns out it was an expensive one. The use of the cameras strikes me as a money-making exercise as in my experience there is never any pressure on car parking space. In fact, in rainy times, the car park is full of massive puddles which is another sore point. I am not willing to risk forgetting to enter my registration again so we will take our custom to the Saracen's Head; it is not quite as convenient but it is cleaner, quieter and where we will not be subject to arbitrary fines.

Whilst I could see the food was fresh, There was a limited choice of what I could have. It started poorly, I asked for a drink and there was an extra charge for that. No hot drinks included in the £5?. Already I’m thinking it’s not £5. I go to get breakfast and it’s completely empty. I requested scrambled eggs but was told they don’t do them as I don’t like fried. I then went to get toast. Only white sliced bread but looked a bit stale. I prefer brown bread so went back to the bar to be told they only serve white bread ? I was also disappointed that no cereals / fruit / yoghurts as is standard for buffet breakfasts elsewhere. Finally hot drinks, I prefer latte so requested this but was told that it would not be unlimited...Felt a bit ripped off as what is there is clearly all you get and no flexibility on even basics. Will go back to weatherspoons!!

Called for lunch and ordered a carvery. I have previously visited this restaurant and generally it has been satisfactory. On this occasion found the beef had a small amount of gristle and the tray holding the roast potatoes was tilted at an angle allowing the potatoes to be "submerged" in fat.

We attended for a Christmas meal, all 3 courses were beautifully cooked, hot and very tasty. Wasn’t overly busy either which was nice, some places really pack you in on Xmas day! The only issue I had, out of 5 of us I was the only one who didn’t have a carvery, so when a member of staff said they would get my Salmon Wellington, the rest of the family went to get there carveries........I eventually found the guy who was going to check on my food, seemed to me like he’d forgotten so by the time the Wellington came out, the rest of my family had eaten, so essentially I ate my Xmas meal on my own.......wasn’t impressed by that.

Went to the Plume today for a pre-booked Christmas Lunch for 14 of us. Just to say none of us were disappointed, all the starters were presented in tip top taste. Carvery food, varied and hot. Puddings to die for. This place has gone from good to excellent, all to the thanks of the Manager and his staff. All very helpful, pleasant and happy. A very enjoyable meal from start to finish. Went today to celebrate a birthday and our first Christmas party.we ordered the three course Christmas meal for just £11.79 and we had a good choice of starters carvery and desserts.everything was nice and well presented and tasty.the manager and the staff where lovely and could not do enough for us and it was a very nice afternoon and was enjoyed by everyone

My wife and I received an offer from Stonehouse of a 50% discount on all main meals. We decided to try this restaurant on arrival we noticed how quiet the place was. we found a table ordered our drinks and meals we had ordered the carvery. There was 3 meats on the carvery (Turkey Gammon and Beef) I had beef and turkey my wife tried all 3.The turkey was good but the beef was awful and after try for sometime to cut gave up and put it to the side of my plate.also the cauliflower was really soft definitely over cooked the sprouts very watery and over cooked. The table who was sat next to us also returned all trier beef as it was so tough. My wife went to the the bar to tell the manager about the beef and whilst there discovered that we had been charged for 2 pigs and blankets which we had not ordered or had put on our plate.We were refunded the cost of the pigs in blankets. The table next to then had there beef replaced by turkey however this was not offered to us. So all in all a really disappointing experience and will never go againt to the Plume and Feathers.

Its cheap but you get what you pay for cold rubbery breakfast in an extremely dated setting could do with a revamp food and interior wise. Staff are friendly but only so much they can do.

I went for breakfast here as I hadn’t been for a long time and now I know why. There was a long wait for eggs. There weren’t any sauces. Food was very mediocre. When I left there were a load of tables uncleared. Although it was breakfast, there was a pile of unappetising looking salad in the salad bar.
