I had the pleasure of visiting The Wharf Tavern recently, and I have to say, the experience was absolutely top-notch. From the moment I walked in, Konrad, the barman, made me feel incredibly welcome. His professionalism, friendly demeanor, and attention to detail were second to none. He poured a perfect pint of Guinness—smooth, creamy, and at the ideal temperature—exactly as it should be. As for the food, Jason, the chef, truly outdid himself. I ordered the Cajun chicken burger, and it was hands down one of the best I’ve had. The chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and packed with bold Cajun spices that gave it just the right amount of heat. The bun was fresh, the toppings were well-balanced, and every bite was a delight. Paired with the Guinness, it was an unforgettable meal. The combination of exceptional service from Konrad and Jason’s skill in the kitchen made for a fantastic experience. Whether you’re looking for a great meal, a perfectly poured pint, or just a welcoming atmosphere, The Wharf Tavern delivers in every way. I’ll definitely be back!

Otra visita fantástica. Un lugar encantador para visitar por la comida deliciosa y un ambiente relajante. Todo el personal era increíble. Ryan ha hecho maravillas por este lugar. Muy recomendable

No hemos venido mucho desde que el pub ha cambiado de manos, sin embargo, está claro que Gayle y Ryan realmente se preocupan por sus clientes y su experiencia en general. Mi filete no estaba del todo bien y estaban felices de ordenarlo sin ningún tipo de alboroto. También vinieron con otra ronda de bebidas, que realmente no era necesario, pero muestra que están invertidos en sus clientes. ¡Somos locales (como ahora saben) así que siempre volveremos! La hamburguesa de cajún y patatas fritas eran maravillosos y los langostinos parecían deliciosos en las fotos recientes que hemos visto. Gran selección de cerveza también.

Visitado el 3 de febrero de 2025 para celebrar una ocasión especial a las 5 de la tarde, el lugar estaba casi vacío. Queríamos el filete, pero nos dijeron que no tenían ninguno disponible esa noche. Los dos pedimos el vino tinto casero Lasaña, y patatas fritas al lado. Las papas fritas vinieron en lugar de las papas fritas , en realidad no es un problema , sin embargo la Lasaña fue la peor Lasaña que hemos comido , De hecho voy a llegar a decir que fue la peor comida que hemos comido en un Pub . Le informamos a la camarera lo mal que pensamos que era y lo decepcionados que estábamos, especialmente porque era para celebrar un cumpleaños y ella dijo que se lo haré saber al chef! Entonces no regresó, Fue realmente asqueroso, piensa en carne de res y cebolla comida para perros con unas cuantas hojas de laurel para un poco de interés, vino tinto que es risible. Luego esperamos 25 minutos a que llegara nuestro postre y luego para colmo los dos teníamos frío. Tuvimos que comer en nuestros abrigos. Los 2 miembros del personal que nos atendió tengo que decir que estaban bien. Pero tristemente después de la comida que probamos y nos vimos obligados a irnos, no volveremos por mucho tiempo.

¡Qué lugar maravilloso! Gran menú, que atiende a todas las preferencias dietéticas. . Volveré a visitar deffo, gracias por el gran servicio! 👍

Absolutely love this place. Me and the mrs are always finding our eating out nights end up going here because honestly having been here compared to others in the area I can’t not pick the Wharf. Food is always top and service very polite helpful. Recommend this to anyone also think it’s dog friendly which is bonus for when us two eventually get our first pup together lol.

Just had the nicest curry I have had in a while. And only £18.99 including a neck oil which is £7 itself! Will definitely be returning. Thanks Ryan :)

So different to my posting 3 years ago! A lot has happened since then. Given the place many opportunities to get things right! However, lately it is just not good enough; from food orders being forgotten (2 times) and uncooked, to bar staff making up an 'altercation'?? The new tenants have the right intentions but clearly one or two members of staff don't cut it.

Food was amazing - home cooked and very tasty. Highly recommended. Great service too.

Food is always fab, service is wonderful and friendly, it's not overcrowded, but a good atmosphere, dog friendly too! But all in all, we enjoy coming here for an evening meal and a drink, great little place 🥰🥂🤩

Visited several times in the last couple of months. Its a lovely cosy friendly pub, staff very friendly and helpful, food great with a wide variety menu.. love that its dog friendly 🐶 bowls of water provided also treats! Would recommend paying a visit 👍🏼👏

Have been to the Wharf for meals and a few drinks on multiple occasions & cannot fault it! Warm & cosy environment, polite and attentive staff and delicious food. Everything is cooked and seasoned to perfection, especially the chips! Entertainment is always on-point, sometimes even with live musical performances & shows a large amount of sporting events. Wonderful location & dog friendly 🐶. Plenty of parking on-site and has a beautiful outdoor space. Couldn’t recommend enough… 10/10!

Food was was great, staff friendly as usual love coming here nothing is to much of a hassle for them.

Brought my son here for dinner. It was so cosy and warm. We both had the haddock and chips and these were the BEST chips ever. They were proper home cooked chips. The fish was perfectly cooked without too much batter and wasn't greasy at all. My son loved it so much he didn't even put salt and vinegar on his and asked me to write this review! Service was prompt and friendly. Even the toilets smelt nice! Will definitely go again. Well done!

Great atmosphere food and staff well worth a visit

Lovely place with a lovely environment. I recommend this highly, with highly trained chefs and great staff to deliver the service you require to have a high quality meal and dining experience. Sunday lunch was to perfection. Will be returning.

Recently changed ownership from greene king to Stout and stone inns I believe it's called having spoke with staff about it. Have been in 2/3 times and can slowly see the kinks ironing out. Had food twice noticeable improvement from GK and then between 1st and 2nd visit noticable improvement. Chips are 10/10 ! So heading in right direction Staff all great and genuinly seemed happy to have the craic with you which aint always the case. Right on the canal. Permanent bouncy castle for kids. Plenty parking. Enough TVs for footy. Dog friendly in certain areas (non carpeted areas staff said) Brilliant little pub!

Been here several times over the years (when it was a Greene King) and didn’t realise it had changed hands recently until dropping in over the weekend. Sadly, our experience this time was thoroughly disappointing and I certainly won’t be visiting again. We ordered food and were shocked when it arrived. The lasagna was completely cold in the middle and had to be sent back, the chicken burger was terrible quality (especially when considering the price!), and the homemade chips were probably the worst I’ve ever tasted. To make matters worse, the pub had so many dogs in, the atmosphere was awful with so much barking (even in the restaurant area). Unfortunately, they arrived after we’d ordered, otherwise we would’ve left before buying the overpriced, poorly made food. The only silver linings were that the Guinness was quite good and the staff were helpful (and apologetic about the food).

In all my years have living we have never eaten a nicer Sunday dinners both presentation and taste , would 100% recommend to all my friends and family and can count on me and my wife coming back for seconds

Tuvimos una parada en Hockley camino a la mitad de York. El amable barman nos encontró una mesa con una sonrisa. La comida era excelente; el ron de cordero servía como debía, rosa. Vegetal perfecto. Lavado con un Timmy Taylor bien cuidado. En el viaje de regreso tuvimos un almuerzo de domingo de carne asada que fue genial. ¿No sabes para qué era la bola de relleno? Pudín de Yorkshire casero 10 / 10. Muy recomendable y el camino de remolque adyacente hace una buena ruta ciclista. Útil para Baddesley Clinton National Trust propiedad.

Waited over an hour for simple food and when it arrived it was wrong! What's happened recently? Normally much better . Not rushing back .

Used to be a Green King menu which was okay food but now it has changed and the food is awful, undercooked chips and soggy veg and Lasagna pasta sheets were raw and made my friend ill later on.

Gran relación calidad-precio, comida muy sabrosa, menú básico, pero el servicio era muy bueno, el personal encantador. Primera vez que visito 30 / 08 / 24 , quería algo rápido para comer en pareja. El menú no era extenso y solo se imprimió en un poco de papel, así que no entró en grandes detalles sobre los platos eh, pero lo que teníamos era recién cocinado, tubería caliente y porción del tamaño de la comida y sabe muy bien. El costo era muy bueno, el servicio no podía faltar, genial para una comida informal con buena relación calidad-precio.

Food was general pub grub nothing fancy, filled a hole. Beer was fine.

Very nice. I have driven passed plenty of times. Always thought of trying it and finally did. We all enjoyed our meals . Everything was cooked to perfection.

Vino el 4 de agosto por 48 minutos a las 10 y 9 de la noche (cuando estaba oscuro). Recibió una notificación de multa de estacionamiento por £ 100 (reducido a £ 60 para el pronto pago ) hoy. En todos los años que he ido al muelle nunca he tenido que pagar por el aparcamiento. Huelga decir que no volveré a ir.

Good clean pub with sports, decent beer, bit pricey. Not as vibrant as it used to be.

No tenía hamburguesas, ni filetes, ni halloumi, ni guisantes, ni salsa katsu, así que creo que era un problema con los pedidos. Nada de naranja, limón o grosella negra. Pero la comida que tenían era buena y las bebidas que tomaban eran buenas

Went to the Wharf on the 4th July for a drink. Was not aware you had to sign in with your registration plate. A parking fine came through the post yesterday. Took a chance to see if this penalty could be cancelled today. . The manager and staff of The Wharf was very helpful I explained I was not aware. They said leave it with us as I will not have to pay. Great service . Thank you.

We had a wonderful dining experience at the wharf thanks to our waitress, Ellie. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Ellie also did a fantastic job of suggesting delicious additions to our meal without being pushy. Her excellent service truly enhanced our visit. Highly recommend!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Came here for food with the kids and there were multiple hairs in 2 of our dishes, it was disgusting and the staff wouldn't even refund!! Depressing environment and the chefs are terrible

Staff are rude and miserable, food is under cooked and tastes stale, me and my wife both ordered stake and it was horrible and not nice at all and the staff don't seem to care, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

Reasonable food and good beer, but got a parking ticket. This is a country pub you wouldn't park here unless you were using the pub so to have parking cameras Greene King are extracting the urine.

Nice pub but to be caught with a £60 parking charge is a disgrace. This is a country pub there is no need to park here unless you are using the facility G&K are taking the pxxx here.

Had a lovely time at the doggy brunch, sausage and ice cream went down a treat. Nice thing to do to raise money for charity also! Thanks to Ellie for being so welcoming!

Not had a meal yet but drinks and Desserts are good here and worth the visit when in the area. I have passed here many times but not been in till today so we diced to visit and we enjoyed.

Nice comfortable pub at a waterside location. Bar staff pleasant. Unsure if kitchen was short staffed or maybe busier than usual over the Bank Holiday but the food took a long time to come out (45 mins plus) and unfortunately wasn't worth the wait, pork tacos were largely lacking much pork filling, it felt as though they were eking it out by over stuffing with lettuce instead. The other small plates lacked the advertised glazes and sauces and were rather bland. We ate the same dishes at another Greene King a couple of weeks ago, so we were expecting the same sort of taste and quality. To be fair to staff, I didn't raise the food issues as we didn't have the time to wait for alternative/ improved dishes, so they didn't have the opportunity to rectify. We wouldn't want to visit again, unfortunately.

Ordered the small plates (tacos) to share between 4 of us. Waited 45 minutes for them. Came out in two lots with a 5 minute gap between and one plate missing. Not worth the wait as they were unappetising, some bits burnt, and the chickenless option was just plain nasty. No-one came to check if all OK. Very disappointing.

Found this pub from a Google search as was looking for something to eat after visiting a nearby NT..glad we did. Easy to find, plenty of parking. traditional pub with lots of smaller eating areas which made it feel more cosy & private. A good pub classic food menu which were reasonably priced and some deals too. Service very good. Meals hot, good portion size and very tasty. Drinks reasonably priced too..will definitely return when next in the area

Had an amazing late lunch was full of lovely staff friendly customers and great food. Service was fast but not rushed and staff were approachable. Will come again. Portions were generous especially Katsu curry!

Visited the Wharf tavern for the second time staying in their caravan site with our caravan. Ate in the pub twice over the 4 days and can only say what a professionally run pub and caravan site this is. Food is spot on...ale similar..My only small criticism is that as this pub is so popular for food there isn't really much of an atmosphere in the bar. All staff were courteous attentive and knowledgeable. Caravan site is fab too.. Grass and pitches tidy and spacious..Toilets lovely and clean. Amenities more than adequate

Nice and warm place that gets busy and is situated by the canal, so it’s nicer on warm sunny days. Portions were a bit too small for my liking given the price. Yes they were presented nicely but I’m in a pub and just want a messy bowl of chips and more onions rings than I know what to do with. That being said, the staff are attentive and food came quick. They also show sports.

Not ideal for a quiet drink , place was really loud with loud music & drunk people singing & dancing about & this was early doors on a Tuesday . I’m all for a good time but this was ridiculous

Had the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time. The batter on the fish was light with chips that were crispy and not limp and lifeless😂. The staff were friendly and made sure looked after. Would definitely recommend.

Such a shame. This pub would be much improved with the right staff. Wrong children's meals served, long wait for desert and had to chase them. Wrong drinks also. Have visited several weeks back and had problems. Food reasonable.

The Wharf is a very welcoming, friendly, down to earth pub. The food is excellent and very good value. We have had the gammon many times and it is always spot on. The staff are friendly and accommodating.

We took our grandson, just popped in on the way home. Really quirky pub. Nice out back with the canal,probably good for a little walk. Grandson got treated really nicely. He really enjoyed his food ,especially his pudding!! Will defo go back in the warmer months as he wanted to feed the "quack quacks" lol. Good beer good honest food, lovely staff....Nice!

Good pub with good pub food and friendly staff. Beware, the pub car park is not free as you would expect. A 21st January night time visit in sheeting rain and high winds courtesy of storm Isha meant that any parking signage was invisible to us, plus the pub staff did not bring the paid parking situatio to our attention. The result was a surprise parking ticket for £100.00 from Euro Car Parks a week later. We feel let down and hoodwinked.

Good pub with good pub food and friendly staff, however, unknown to us, visiting from the south, parking in the pub car park is not free. we ate there on 21.01.24, arriving at 19:20 and leaving at 20:35. It was dark, sheeting with rain, and high winds courtesy of storm Isha, not any good for any parking signage visibility. We incurred a £100.00 fine from Euro Car Parks as a result. One does not expect to pay for pub car parking when eating there. The pub should inform non local visitors of this. Not good, we feel hoodwinked.

Katsu curry was plentyful, very tasty, wife had mac and cheese said it was very nice, i have had guinness before from here and it was a good pint, but was driving this time so had a nice pot off tea,😁,service also very good thankyou wharf tavern,👍

We visited here for Christmas day dinner. The service was amazing and the best we have ever had on Christmas day. We arrived and were offered drinks immediately and the food was served timely. Christmas dinner had everything we wanted and more. It was really lovely as we could take our dog too so he didn't feel left out. Thank you to all of the the staff.

(sharing on behalf of my 83 year old mother-in-law, who doesn't use the internet) A friend and I visited The Wharf on Monday 13th November and had 2 very enjoyable meals. Linked to this, not for the first time, was the very good attention given to us by Victoria.

Lovely country pub which is welcoming and cosy. I recently ate at "breakfast with Santa" where my family with 2 children were made a fuss of while me and my partner had a perfect cooked breakfast. The bar staff are great and there's a good selection of drinks and the main menu has fantastic deals where you can get 2 main meals cheaper than 1 elsewhere. Highly recommended

This should be a great pub. However, the toilets are filthy and cold, The drinks are really expensive and the staff just seem down trodden and openly discuss how much they dislike working there. It seems that Green King need to shake it up and realise its prime location potential.

Sick and tired of the off-putting attitude towards regulars who consistently bring business to slower evenings. Used to be a decent, warm venue to enjoy a cold night, play cards, quiz, or play darts and the atmosphere has changed drastically within the last 2 years. Disappointing, considering everyone has told me pubs were a place for community members to gather, enjoy a drink and have discussions about their days.

Booked a table for 11 people. Some had the festive menu while others had main menu. Starters were brilliant. Main courses were excellent. Turkey was cooked to perfection. Staff catered for allergies & even asked the chef to prepare dishes separately & without certain ingredients. Highly recommend the food & booking is advised. Plenty of choice of drinks & such a relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely be back when in the area. Thanks to all the staff & the chef & his team did a fantastic job. 11 empty plates on all 3 courses. Even the bill was very reasonable. No complaints from anyone in the party.

There were 5 adults and a baby that came here this evening for food. The service from all of the staff we encountered throughout the whole of our visit was excellent. The chef on duty know their stuff we ordered so much food very late and all of it was delicious.

Fantastic meal yesterday. Piping hot, generous portions, lovely service, great value for money. I had fish and chips and my husband had the katsu chicken curry. Haven’t eaten here for a while and so glad we decided to last night.

Met two friends I used to work with here for a re-union lunch on Friday. Chose here as convenient location halfway between Stratford and Solihull. Great value food, as always from Green King, tasty and well presented, and served quickly. Pleasant and helpful staff - reminded me to enter my car registration number on the console on the bar. Hadn't realised it had such an extensive variety of televised sport. Was told they covered rugby as well as the usual football, racing, cricket and golf. Plan to return for the Six Nations next year. Well worth a visit, but REMEBER TO RECORD YOUR CAR REGISTRATION ON ARRIVAL!!!!!
