Cozy place with great food! I had the goat's cheese and fig salad and my husband had the chicken, ham and leek pie. Both were delicious! Our company had the fish and chips and it was enormous! Will be certainly looking for the same pub in other locations in the UK.

Great Sunday roast here and a new favourite in Oxford! The pork belly was very tasty and the Yorkshire puddings are amazing, very satisfying after being disappointed by a few different pub roasts in town. Our server was great, the only downside was one rude member of staff who looked like he could be the manager, marching over to our table when we’d already been sat down for 20 minutes and rudely saying “this table is reserved for [name]” and I replied “I am [name]” and he marched off without even apologising to us. You have a booking system for a reason, maybe check it before you start accusing people of stealing tables or at the very least, ask politely and don’t be rude! 😂 Other than this guy, it was a very pleasant experience being seated upstairs.

You have to go upstairs to order, but that is not mentioned anywhere. The food took a very long time due to an error in the system but they got it. This was resolved very neatly. The food is also good, fish and chips were excellent. The chicken was a bit dry but the taste was fine.

Went in to watch the football (after seeing a sign saying they were playing the game) a good hour before KO. 20mins into game and still no sight of the football on the TV (which was playing some looped Guinness book of records video), we again asked and was told “we are dealing with customers first then will put on” several other angry punters all waiting. Turning the channel was too difficult so my group all left. Next time go the Grapes, much better service.

Food would have been just OK ( if a bit bland) if it was hot - lamb steak came out cool, lentils came seemingly out of a freezer. Still decent, but got the feeling this sat on someone else's table for quite a while🤨 Cocktail was good, though. Feels understaffed - proper staffing would solve most issues. Would give it another chance.

The bavette steak was good, the burger was slightly burnt and the fish'n chips were embarassing - fish was tiny and they tried to compensate with a thick layer of dough. The venue is nice and the tables outside are even nicer weather permitting.

If you're visiting Oxford, this is a very middle of the road pub. Conveniently located in the centre of town with outside seating and a pleasing historic look inside, it'll do the job. The selection of beers has gotten a bit worse since they opened, but I assume they're catering to their customers. The food is fine. A tad expensive but not bad.

It was busy and perhaps needed a few more staff to help out. The staff that were working were very welcoming though. There were multiple tables that needed clearing which meant new customers waiting at dirty tables which wasn’t ideal. We ordered Caesar salads. Not the best I’ve had but not the worst. For pudding we had the Eton Mess which was a huge disappointment. A total of three raspberries (should have been strawberries). And just a very small amount of meringue and cream. We didn’t send it back because we were on a time limit.

Went in here to have a family meal, ordered a pizza and 2 drinks, the waitress over charged me massively which wasn’t clocked by her so I mentioned it. She wasn’t the most apologetic, and had some attitude problem from the beginning of our interaction. Maybe a busy day? But the staff seemed vacant and not at all present which is a shame as the pub itself is lovely. Any who, the manager came to sort my refund, but refunded me 9 lemonades as the waitress put through 11. After leaving the restaurant, I have now been over charged as the manager actually should have refunded me for 10 lemonades. As my other drink was a coke. Such a shame I had a bad experience as was really looking forward to trying the pub but sadly the staff really didn’t hit the mark.

Not sure why this pub closed for so long and only just reopened, its not been long opened as a pub anyway, but nothing has changed it seems so no refurb or major improvement. Its ok as a pub, been several times but never seems to have to wow factor. The reason for the poor scoring is the beer, they are terrible and served in generic glasses, so the entire pub has people sitting with sad faces and flat beer. These are not cheap either and the prices are on par with the head of he river, London prices as we say, so flat beer for your money = two points I am afraid.

Popped in for a snack and a drink. Asked what the soup of the day was, then went back to the table to tell the rest of my group of 3, went back to order about 5 minutes later and was told there’s no soup left. So then asked for 2 scotch eggs and they only had 1 left so went for a sausage roll. We also ordered chips and watched 9 tables get chips or chips on the side of main meals and waited 45 minutes to ask someone what was going on. We chased up the order with a young girl who went to the kitchen to ask but never came back and carried on serving other people and cleaning tables. We then went up to the bar to ask what was going on and the chap was the first friendliest person we met. He ran up to get them but they had to be cooked and we decided to just get a refund. Which we got. But really we should’ve had a refund and the chips for the inconvenience. But it’s fine. Lessoned learned as we won’t go there again.

My son and daughter booked a table at the Plough Inn for a Mother's day treat. When we arrived, it was very busy but we were showed to a table and given the menus. I chose roast chicken, my son ordered vegetable Wellington and my daughter a veggie burger. When our food came we could not believe our eyes, my roast was £18 , it was a side plate with half a chicken breast, 1 potato, 1 slice carrot, 1 slice parsnip, a small dollop of bread sauce and a small piece if stuffing topped with a Yorkshire pudding. My sons dinner was of similar size and price but no Yorkshire pudding. I gave him half of mine , and my parsnip. I think we were just a bit stunned before I decided to speak to a waitress. She was lovely, listened, agreed and said she would speak to manager. We started eating, it was cool and bland. When she came back she shared manager's response that as they were doing a set menu for £25 they were doing smaller portions to leave room for dessert!!!!!!! Ridiculous, it was £18!!!! I requested that the manager came to speak to me as unfair on lovely young waitress. He did not come!! But response came back as, meals had been put through as child's portions, they would be happy to bring us remainder of portion and would charge us child price£11!! We declined, lunch had been spoilt and would never recommend! The manager should have spoken to me and not hidden behind lovely waitress, disgraceful behaviour!!!

Worst experience I've had in quite some time, ordered 2 sandwiches and drinks via the QR code on a table outside, everything went though and I was charged. All is good so far! Waited around 30 minutes and nothing had arrived, so went to the bar to check and make sure they had my order. I was told that they did and the kitchen was a bit backlogged so it'll be another 10 - 15 minutes - Not great for a small order, but fine we'll wait. Another 15 minutes pass, still nothing, so I go inside to cancel the order and go over the road to PRET to get a sandwich. It turns out that the food was "out of stock" and it was never processed, but know one thought to come out to tell us or cancel the order and send an email etc??? I came here with my family because of the good reviews, central location and how cozy it looked from the outside. We weren’t told when seated about certain things not being available. Instead, when ordering, 4 different things we wanted to order weren’t available. This was despite the smaller Sunday menu. Because of this, one of our party didn’t have anything on the menu that they wanted, and didn’t eat. When food came and asked if we wanted any condiments, asking for ketchup was also met with a “we don’t have that.” A thoroughly unenjoyable experience because of this, all made worse by one member of staff laughing at the prospect of so much of what we wanted to order being unavailable. Incredibly disappointed.

What a pleasant surprise this pub restaurant was. Saturday night and everywhere else in central Oxford was rammed - not a table to be had the length of George Street, so we sauntered round the corner and came across The Plough Inn which had tables free, a mixed and relaxed clientele and staff that couldn't have been more welcoming. There is table service, a good and varied menu with pub food classics and more but we ordered the house speciality - a unique fourteen inch square pizza that is claimed, quite rightly as it turned out, to be enough for 2-4 people. What a treat, delicious, perfectly cooked and served in a wooden box lined with a metal tray. Such fun, a superb couples or date night meal and fantastic value. Thank you all at The Plough. I’d like to leave a good review on this place, but seriously can’t. Literally waited an hour just to go up to the counter and realise that our orders hadn’t even started being prepared. We were the only 4 people who had ordered and had watched people leave and get food before us. Some worker came around with some food that wasn’t ours, instead it was some people who had already left because they were sick of waiting too. Same waiter left randomly before serving us, the manager was stoned and the whole place was in shambles, so we got a refund and left at bloody 8:30. I’m very confused cause it says the pub was made in the 1600s. Something at this place has got to change.🤷♂️

Beer was what you would expect from a Brewdog venue, food was extremely tasty. Nav looked after us well and was very attentive when needed

Had read the reviews on the Cafe and thought it looked promising but we were to be disappointed. We visited for Breakfast and did like the premises with its vaulted ceilings and historic ambience. However, the Food was disappointing. An uninspiring Croissant and the Full English for me which was just okay but nothing more. The main issue is that the whole place is in need of a major refurb, including the toilets which have seen much better days. There also appears to be all sorts of supplies piled up in odd spaces, needs a reorganisation. Could be great with some investment and TLC.

We hired the white dome for our daughter’s 21st birthday. It looked really pretty when we arrived. The service was very attentive all evening, the food was all really tasty and the wines good. It seated 25 of us and was really warm and cosy with the heaters. All in all we had a great evening!
