Lovely little cafe with a great vibe and amazing vegan food. Very community minded.

Great vegan food and not expensive. We enjoyed our meal at a sunny outside table and there was just a short wait for the food to arrive. Date of visit 19th March 2025.

Amazing vegan food and cakes. A little in the pricey side but definitely worth it! A real gem hidden away.

Delicous food, great selection of toasties, burgers, cakes, fancy drinks, teas, coffees, matcha lattes etc, generous portions and friendly service. The schnitzel burger is a favourite. I wish the place was bigger as I have a baby now and would take up a lot of space with the pram. Nice to sit in the courtyard in lovely weather.

What a gem of a restaurant. We had vegan sausages in ciabatta, they were delicious. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and made our 2 little dogs extremely welcome. We'll definitely be back.

Brilliant place - great food and really lovely staff!

It was very busy so no availability to sit we were happy to get coffees and cake to take away a lovely place all of the staff are incredibly friendly. Would love to return when less busy to sample to food menu.

Quite possibly the best food you will eat in Stratford (if anywhere!)- we absolutely love this cafe and go as often as we can. Really interesting food, a wide range of options, generous portions and amazing friendly service to go with it. I think our dog loves it even more than us too…they always make her feel super welcome Highly recommend paying them a visit!

Lovely little independent cafe tucked away in a Stratford side street. I've lived in the Stratford district for years and was chuffed when a plant based cafe opened up. This place sells simple, very tasty food and serves excellent coffee. The cakes are a must!

We were driving from Birmingham to London. Going here was a 1 hour detour, so I wasn't pleased - but my wife insisted... ...Boy am I glad I did: the place was full (you can't book) with happy diners enjoying the most amazingly clever, inventive and delicious vegan food I've ever come across in a cafe... It's not cheap, but it is excellent value... If your a vegan, you'll understand the joke on their drinks menu!

I came here for lunch with my 7 year-old daughter. We absolutely loved it! The food was extraordinary, lots of different dishes to choose from and very particular. The portions were big.

This is a wonderful little vegan restaurant. We found it by chance and were delighted at the range of excellent vegan food. As we didn’t have long, we were only able to enjoy two lovely hot chocolates, but we look forward to going back. Definitely worth your time.

El servicio fue genial, bien informado y servicial. Y el café estaba muy bien decorado y cómodo también. ¡Baño genial!

This cafe is AMAZING for vegans because you can choose anything! The atmosphere is at a whole different level!

We went here today on a friend’s day out. It was so lovely and there wasn’t much space but the lovely lady brought in a chair from outside for my friend. The food is amazing! One of us out of three is a vegan, I do sometimes eat vegan food but one of our friends doesn’t usually like vegan food. The food was actually incredible. I’d put it way above most restaurants that serve typical food choices. I had the ‘schnitzel’ option and it was so tasty! I have no idea how they make the cheese taste so cheesy! If they could make a cookbook, I’d never eat animal products again. It was absolutely lovely and the staff were wonderful. It’s a real little gem that can’t be seen from the main street and I can not recommend them enough.

This is such a great little place! Hidden away in a lovely spot in Stratford and the food was just divine. Also fabulous coffee which is always a win! Will definitely be going back! Thank you.

It’s a very comfortable place and it’s pet-friendly. There are cute dogs everywhere. Vegan eggs taste really like real eggs The burger is also very solid and tastes great.

Some of the best vegan food I've ever had.

I cannot even begin to express how amazing the toasties here are!! For both vegans and non vegans the food is absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was lovely, with soft piano music in the background. Having so many interesting drink options is a rarity in cafes now days, which is exactly how I would describe this little gem of a cafe, a rarity. Visit for the best toasties in the UK, and some lovely tea, coffee and hot chocolate options!

Recently moved to the area and was so excited there was a vegan place! We came here for lunch and we loved it! Felt like you were sitting in a friends living room whilst you wait for your food to arrive. The coffee was great, the pistachio and rose cake was absolutely delicious. I’m not usually a cake fan but me and my partner demolished the cake before our food even came out. I would absolutely give 5 stars, but the vegan fried eggs just let us down a little. We’ve had vegan fried eggs in the past and these were very different than what we thought, and the egg taste was lacking. We will absolutely be back and will give 5 stars next time I’m absolutely sure!

What can I say?? I Absolutely Loved Plantarium Cafe. I had the smoky bean and chickpea stew! It was Amazing!! I’ve never seen such a varied vegetarian menu. I was with 2 vegetarians and they also said the menu was great. The staff were lovely and the cafe really cosy. I am not a vegetarian, but can honestly say, I would choose this over a meat-focussed restaurant in the future. Great job everyone!!

Exceptional service for vegetarians some dishes almost taste like meat

We were touring Stratford and stumbled across this place and it was the highlight of the whole town! (My wife and I arent even vegan and loooved the food) The toasties were absolutely to die for, even with the interesting flavor combinations that were on offer I had the bean and chickpea stew with cibatta bread and it absolutely hit the spot on a chilly winter day Pair that with quick and lovely service and this place is an absolutely adorable gem The cherry on top was that it is dog friendly, so we got to sit outside and enjoy a puppy parade the entire meal!

It's a small little shop inside a alley which leads away from the main street. They not only serve absolutely vegan delicious food, on top the menu has the cutest name ever (Plantosaurus). I was taken away. I ordered a Jalapeño Cheese Toastie and it was so good! The active charcoal had me questioning first if it was good, but as soon as I took the first bite, I knew that that was one of the best decisions ever. Highly recommend a visit.

Encontré esto por casualidad cuando deambulaba por la ciudad y tuve que regresar por la tarde ya que mi hija es vegana y estaba en la luna! Tenía un café con leche de almendras y ella tenía una naranja de chocolate caliente, además optamos por una rebanada de pastel cada uno! ¡Wow, las rebanadas de pastel eran enormes y deliciosas! ¡Las bebidas también eran geniales! Mi hija estaba tan contenta de que todo fuera vegano y no solo tenía una opción! Nos sentamos arriba en un ambiente muy frío y el personal era genial también!

An absolute gem of a find. Fantastic vegan food, lots of choices, quickly served, very reasonable price. We only stayed in Stratford for two days and having eaten here on the first day we came back on the second. If we lived nearer we would be eating here at least weekly. It looks tiny from the outside and you might think they're full inside but there's more seating upstairs. We had the shawarma crunch, trip to Mexico, tofu bbq burrito and I don't give a schnitzel. All delicious. And on both days we had the orange hot chocolate which was divine. Other sites list Plantarium as vegetarian, but all the food is vegan. Maybe it's their offering dairy milk as an alternative to all the plant milks they have that got them the veggie label rather than vegan. It was nice to see the 30p surcharge on the dairy milk instead of the plant milks for a change :) Highly recommended. Edit: it's a good indication of how much we like this little restaurant that we decided to return to Stratford Upon Avon in Oct 2024 purely to eat there again. For us it's a 160 mile journey each way. We stayed for 3 days and ate lunch there every day, enjoying the same meals as before but also trying some equally delicious new ones, such as the "cheese omelette". I don't doubt we'll go back in 2025.

Incredible vegan cafe in the heart of Stratford. Relaxed feel with a dedicated following. We had the avos and ‘feta’ on toast, and the ooomlette. Decent portions, absolutely delicious. Should have tried the cakes.

The pastry on the left doesn’t have enough taste though the dough is good! Nice to find a vegan pastry except Pret’s

Such a lovely cafe for lunch and cake. They looked after me and my dog really well, with very nice staff. The menu is varied and original, with generous portions and flavour. I'll definitely visit again next time I'm in Stratford!

Do yourself a favour and go here! :) You won't regret it, especially if you get the meal we opted for, which was bacon sandwich and dippy egg, buffalo tofu wrap (which was huge!) with chips. Great coffee and pumpkin latte too! We sat outside, so I can't comment on the inside. But this is great. Do it!

Having tried a mass of different vegan dishes over the past three years, due to one of us going vegan, we have never come across a place with such vast and unique meals. Staff were incredibly friendly and the decor only added to the enjoyable experience. Coffee was amazing and the food had unbelievably generous portions, great value for money. We wanted to come back again the moment we left, and will be returning next time we come to Stratford. 12/10 from us.

We popped in for brunch and enjoyed our visit. The vegan fried eggs were very good. The charcoal bread cheese and onion toastie was nice, not amazing. Cakes looked good but we didn't get to those, next time!

We are not Vegan but really fancied a salad so though well vegan… Honestly the food was exceptional! I really wanted to come a second time but we couldn’t.,, We only have one regret is that we are 2h away from this cafe or it would be one of our regulars! damm

Excellent vegan cafe with amazing cake!

After travelling for 8 hours we (me, my son and his father) were so glad to arrive at the planetarium. Only to stand there on the terrace, being ignored by very busy staff. When I approached the woman I told her we have read a lot about the place, that we would like to sit and enjoy some food and drinks but they were full. (I just read they have an upstairs, I was not aware of that, downstairs there were only seats outside if I recall well). So I asked if we could walk around town a bit and then come back or if she could call if a table was empty but there was no way she could be of service. We had to stand there in between the eating people like doofusses and wait. We refused. I feel bad as I thought vegans all over the world was some sort of community but I did not get that feeling. At all.

I had the cashew and cranberry toasties which was delicious.

An absolutely brilliant find. Fantastic, friendly service and quick. The food was ace and truly the best toasted cheese sandwich (with sauerkraut, this time) I've ever had. It all tasted fresh and great quality.

Great food, great location. 3 non-vegans very impressed with the choice and quality. Shawarma crunch and jalapeño burger were 10/10. My only improvement would be that the sausage ciabatta was pretty empty with only 2 small sausages, but still very tasty.

Whether you’re vegan or not, you will love Plantarium. Everything we ordered was so delicious! The seating area is limited and the place can get busy, which is not surprising given the wonderful food and generous portions.

Love this little place so much. I go every time I’m in Stratford. Sometimes it’s the reason I go to Stratford. In fact, and this is true, I was once off work on a Thursday and thought ‘It’s a nice day, maybe I’ll go to Stratford’ and when I checked and this place wasn’t open on Thursdays, I went somewhere else instead. I can’t remember where.

Top vegan eats in Stratford, in fact the only fully plant based in Stratford. We went for breakfast (coffee and cake), lunch (amazing schnitzel) and tea (hot chocolate and more cake). Sit outside in the Minories yard or upstairs in a warm and cosy room.

Outstanding food and service. We valued the varied menu and the different dishes available. We enjoyed the mushroom and sauerkraut tortillas and the snitzel. Portion size was very good and the prices were reasonable for the quality and individuality of each dish. Service was prompt and enthusiastic. We had cake as take away, again the variety was very different to the offerings at other cafes., which we greatly appreciated. We enjoyed our lunch so much we returned the next day for more 11/10 in my book.

Rainy Lunch Even though the sun did not shine, we sat in the courtyard under cover and it was lovely. Coffee was awesome and the food divine. Full of flavour wholesome and very freshly prepared. Could not fault our delicious lunch. Thoroughly recommend this little gem, with all the right ethos. .....

I'm in love with this place. Every time I pass through Stratford, I always make a mandatory stop to have breakfast here. The quality of the food is incredible and the service unbeatable. It is in a small square 1 minute from the main street in a completely quiet area.

Sat upstairs with my family. All ordered coffee and teas. The I love yoga tea and Cannabis tea were delish!! Herbivore burgers were so yummy. Will be coming back for another! Whole family were very happy with their choices. YUMMY VEGAN FOOD 😍😍

Outstandingly good vegan food. It’s rare to find a vegan place that gets the balance right between nourishing dishes and burgers, fries etc but they got it totally bang on. Lots of clearly marked gluten free options- all of the toasties can be made gluten free! We got a good variety of food and drinks and everything was a hit, but shout-out in particular to: - the iced blue matcha latte - shawarma crunch (the firm favourite of our group) - the rainbow bread for LGBTQ+ Pride Month! (Which had a real positive impact on our group, especially having experienced homophobia during our 2 days in Stratford-upon-Avon- this nod to pride felt super meaningful and celebratory for us ❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Friendly staff, large portions of delicious cake with a good variety to choose from. The blue matcha was very good, although the peanut butter and caramel hot beverage was too sweet.

I absolutely love plantarium cafe, they make the best oat latte and their food is really nice. Absolutely loved my falafel wrap and the salad my mum had was brilliant too. Always friendly and helpful staff, in a lovely atmosphere.

Always amazing food!!! Wish we didn’t live so far away and it is quite pricey but totally worth it, as they have large portions and the cake portions are insane! We love this place but there are a few downsides, you can’t book, so tables not guaranteed, it’s quite small & not child friendly, no changing facilities or chairs very dog friendly though… they offer treats and blankets… Shame we first started coming here with our dog and got great treatment not the same since going with a baby…but that’s been the same with multiple places…

It was ok, so busy so sat outside freezing as no blankets left but that’s not a big deal. But the mushroom tortilla I had was so so peppery it just tasted of pepper, I gave it 3 rather than lower as my husbands tofu dish was lovely :)

The cafe is really cute and from the moment we stepped in, the two people working there were so lovely! We ordered tea, two cruffins and a blue matcha. The matcha was the best matcha I’ve ever had! Thank you for the great service and food!

Nice Lunch. Two of us went for lunch and sat upstairs. There are some tables in the quiet courtyard outside, but the day wasn't that warm and there were no free tables in the sun. We had a Shawarma Crunch and a Trip to Mexico, both grilled wraps, and we cut both in half and shared. You get a nice side of salad and some tortilla chips included. I had a beer, my partner had water. Good atmosphere, if a little quiet. The food was nice, and all vegan. £36.

This is our favourite place to eat in Stratford. The coffee is the best, always lovely and hot, try the biscoff latte, mind blowing! The food is always delicious, we’ve been for the breakfast baps, lunch and just coffee/cake and the service is always so friendly and kind. They always bring our dog a little blanket if we are outside and a plate of treats. Make sure you’re hungry as the portions are generous. Can get very busy but with the better weather hopefully coming there is plenty of outside seating, blankets provided if it’s a bit chilly. Lovely staff, cosy atmosphere, banging food!!! A gem that I’d like to stay a little bit hidden please??

One of my absolute favourite cafe's to visit! Been many times over the last few years. The food is always spot on, the cakes are also hard to resist!

Our first visit and certainly not our last. Loved this cafe, with its outdoor seating, blankets and cushions were most welcome on a chilly spring day. Coffee was great and the cakes absolutely delicious. I’m not vegan but would definitely be tempted to try more from the menu next time. Thank you for making us and our pup so welcome.

We stopped here without looking at the reviews and had a fantastic vegan jalapeño cheeseburger with salad and side tortilla chips. The food was even nicer than the picture and that’s saying something

Fantastic fully vegan cafe with a delicious and varied menu, excellent coffee (even the decaf), great portion sizes and superb service. We go here regularly with our whippet; who loves it as much as we do and always tries to go in whenever we walk past. It never disappoints anyone we take there, including non-vegans as the menu is varied enough to suit all tastes 🌱💛😍

Had a wonderful first visit to this cafe. I find it hard to find fully vegan restaurants and cafes and I discovered this gem. Food was lovely, great portion sizes, awesome selection of food and cakes! I have the Mexican tofu wrap and my partner had the jalapeño cheese burger. I also had to take 2 slices of cake with me, made in house! I had chocolate hazelnut and a biscoff. Thank you so much we will definitely be visiting again.

Visited during a weekend away in December. This was actually our second visit as we deliberately sought out this cafe having visited on a previous trip. Excellent cafe with plenty of tempting options. Will visit again on a future trip. Highly recommend.

Came here for brunch-y stuff ahead of a matinee on a bitterly cold early March weekend. They serve an excellent range of vegan choices (pickle toastie, shawarma crunch) and the coffee (oat flat white)was good, too. Upstairs was perfectly cozy but I intend on coming by in warmer times with cycling friends and the outdoor seating area looks promising for that. Superb!

I’m currently challenging myself to eat Vegan only for at least a full year from 1st January 2024 so I was pleased to find this gem of a vegan cafe. I had a bowl of chickpea and peanut butter stew with flatbreads and my Mum had a “trip to Mexico” spicy tofu crunchy wrap. The food was amazing and the service friendly. Recommended.
