Absolute gem of a place you could easily miss if you didn’t know it was here but you’d be missing out! Fantastic coffee and hot chocolate and delicious seasonal bakes. A very quirky, old atmospheric building with lovely staff and a relaxed ambiance. Highly recommend a visit!

In this coffee shop the most tasty coffee in Stratford!

This café is located on a popular pedestrianised street not far from Shakespeare’s birthplace. We have passed it by many times, but never visited because we mistakenly thought it had a very small interior. This time we sat outside on a pleasant day and realised that it was much much larger inside. The coffee was good quality, we enjoyed sitting outside and watching all the tourists go by, we will definitely visit again.

The coffee here is really good, one of the best in town to be fair. I had a jumbo croissant as a treat the last time we went and it was lovely.

Great specialty coffee. I had the espresso of the day which had a really funky taste but was sweet and balanced. My wife had a chai latte that was really great. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for good coffee.

The best coffee in town! Box Brownie clearly think carefully about how to source and serve their coffee. Very tasty, strong, and well presented every time. I like to visit with my family whenever I'm in Stratford - make sure to get a seat outside if the weather is nice! Great service and food too but the coffee is what keeps me coming back.

This place was recommended to me by a local. The coffee is good and it is a pleasant location but this is where the positives stopped for me. The sizes of the portions are smaller than at other places, while the prices are higher. Service was below average. We had to wait more than 15 minutes for two cappuccinos and no ‘sorry’ was said. (Had the person who was serving us apologised, I might have given it four stars.) And this was a windy Saturday morning in April, not even the height of the tourist season. Disappointing.

First visit in my lunch break, great coffee with a frangipane cake and excellent service. It beats the usual coffee shops. I highly recommend giving it a try ☕🍰🙂👍🏼

Best coffee shop in town easily. Lovely little hide away upstairs to if it's busy downstairs. Bacon butty to die for but it's the coffee you keep coming back for.

Excellent service, coffee and cakes

Stopped in for a coffee and cake. The coffee was just about perfect. An Americano, I mean you can go wrong with them. Costa quite often does (by using water too hot and scalding the beans), but BB was just the right temperature. pair the Americano with the apple and blueberry cake for a perfect combo. The barista of the day, was welcoming and knowledgeable (sorry fella, didn't get your name, but you were an ex butcher). Next time we're in the area, we WILL be back for more...😋

What a fantastic little coffee shop this is. The vemdor was friendly. laid back and knew all about the coffee he was selling. I asked him what these two coffee's were... he explained very well. So with the coffee underway all that was left was to taste the goodis lined up....i opted for the banana bread with cinnamon butter and wow!!. Superb coffee and divine food! heaven on the high street.... When you are in Stradford Upon Avon...you have to go to this little gem of a coffee sop....everything is made out of love for what they make and sell.

Following previous reviews, we searched this place out. The quality of the drinks were excellent and the service was good, courteous and helpful. If you love coffee, you will love this place

Quaint, rustic small, privately owned cafe serving really good coffee, cakes, scones and croissants. Quite narrow with more seating on squishy settees upstairs. Always like visiting here with its mix of non-matching little tables and chairs and made to feel welcome.

I love artisan coffee shops and Box Brownie really enticed me in. Loved the decor and layout and the coffee was great but I was shocked to pay £4 for a small cappuccino. Apparently decaf and oat milk are 50p extra each which I struggle to understand when so many other cafes include it for free nowadays. It's a shame as I can't justify these prices so I won't be going back.

Very overpriced standard coffee however. They didn't have brown sugar, or sweetener - no coffee shop should be without either. Dirty tables, no care for cleaning in covid times...

Slow service today, waited at least 5mins before being acknowledged at the order counter. Can't knock the coffee though.

Popped in for breakfast as a spur of the moment thing and was not disappointed. The food was great, the hot drinks were good and the staff was brilliant. Would come here again!

Absolutely fabulous independent coffee shop- helpful, friendly and skilled staff serve up the best coffee we've had in months, as well as great sandwiches etc. All in the heart of Stratford. Wish we lived close enough to go regularly!

Box Brownie es un pequeño café sin pretensiones en la parte superior de la calle Henley con quizás media docena de mesas afuera y una docena más o menos adentro. El café es excelente, los pasteles también se veían bien. Creo que sirven comida. El personal es fantásticamente normal y no pretencioso, encantador y típicamente inglés. Muy amable y una joya escondida en el bullicioso centro de la ciudad lleno de cafés, la mayoría de los cuales tienen su propio encanto, pero si quieres un café realmente decente, recomendaría Box Brownie donde disfruté de un Americano sentado en una fresca mañana de febrero (con mi perro ) sentados afuera disfrutando del glorioso sol charlando con un encantador miembro del personal. Altamente recomendado.

The coffee was too small for the price and was very sour and the hot chocolate was undrinkable. The actual cafe was also quite dirty and staff was cold to us.

Casual, bijou, friendly service. Need mountain climbing experience to get upstairs to use the bathroom! Great carrot cake.

Love the vinyls and board game upstairs makes going there a treat! Server called Lola is super sweet and friendly :)

I’ve been a few times and every time I’ve had very good coffee, rich and tasty, not too bitter. They do some good cakes and biscuits but don’t push them. Service has always been friendly and helpful

We had two coffees which were fine. They weren’t busy but still the counter Service was not good, very ‘take it or leave it’ very expensive two regular coffees £6.10, more expensive than fine dining! Also charged 50p extra for decaf-really??The guy serving at the tables was friendly. Would not go again. A lot more friendly, welcoming, reasonably priced places in Stratford upon Avon.

We had two days in Stratford and despite a 20 minute wait for our coffee the first time we went here, we came back a second time.The coffee was excellent, the brownie was a little hard.

Can't rate this place highly enough. All coffees are inferior in comparison to a Box Brownie coffee. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and a good price for the best coffee around.

Nice little coffee shop that sells great coffee, cakes and other bites. Art on the wall, super friendly staff, formica table tops, what's not to like! Biodegradable cups and lids made me feel slightly less guilty. First take out cup I've bought this year. Arg. A visit to Shakespeare's birth place along the road was a nice bonus.

What a stunning little find on our latest visit to Stratford. Coffees lovingly crafted with really nice blends. We had the bacon sandwiches which were delicious!! It's a real community feeling in there with regular locals and artists who go there regularly. Great conversation, brilliant service, highly recommended!!

Cakes are very pricey at 3.50 for a very small piece of tray bake ie flapjack or brownie Can be a ten minute wait at busy times

Coffee was not too bad, just the prices were over avarage and the roast was very specific, maybe not the best choice for everyone. More expensive than in London. 50p extra even for soya milk.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Quick service on early Saturday morning. Asked about the coffee blends and had a great conversation. Even tried an indian coffee!

Spent a week in St-u-A and had breakfast here every day. Loved it. Best coffee in town - and staff knowledgeable about coffee (blends, origin etc.). Lovely porridge and the banana bread was out of this world. Loved sitting outside and watching the world go by.

Having just moved into the area we wanted to try various different cafes before choosing a favourite. We struck lucky with this one very early on. The coffee is delicious and the carrot cake is the best, literally the best, I've ever had and I've had my share over the years! Staff welcoming and friendly. We will go back again, and again and again......

lovely little coffee house with very attentive staff just near Shakespeare's birthplace. If your travelling in with a bus tour it's a great last stop before you get the bus home.

Great place, set in the heart of the City. Cool decor and really good coffee ( and brownies). Staff were spot on and it was nice to sit, chill out and watch the crowds.

Called in here one weekday as it had some seating outside and the sun was shining. Went inside to place our order, service was mediocre not gushing or welcoming! We ordered a couple of coffees and a couple of slices of cake £13!!!! The drinks etc were bought to us outside, cake a bit thin and dry, drinks ok, nothing special.
