Pizza1889 in Bristol, City of

Have passed this place a trillion times driving from central Bristol towards Brislington (you catch sight of this Pizza place situated in a Portacabin-type building in the car park of the Avonmeads Shopping Centre) & have made a mental-note each time to visit - well last night was the perfect occasion - looked them up on website & could have ordered online - but took our chances & popped in - on 'puling up' outside - our enthusiasm wained slightly - looked unkept & dilapidated, bit greasy, grubby with dirty windows, - but the sign said "Open"so we continued in - & we were so glad we did as we were to be met by a really enthusiastic & helpful guy who explained the menu & was so happy to help - bonus - had a beer whilst we were waiting ~ another family came in whilst we were there - it was their first visit too & same guy talked them through the menu - answering questions about ingredients, telling them that he could remove chilli's if not required & suggesting a 'combo offer' - really lovely personal service - total professional - within 10-15 minutes we were off back to the other side of town with a couple of freshly baked pizzas, garlic bread, dips & some puddings plus another beer - absolutely 1st Class/5 Star all the way - cannot recommend this little venue highly enough - its tiny - but you can eat inside - kitchen all visible - just a team of two preparing, cooking & serving freshly cooked pizzas - many thanks will most definitely be visiting again..

Ordered two buffalo mozzarella pizzas through deliveroo. They arrived in a pool of water and the entire topping slid off at the moment of lifting one slice. I drove the pizzas to the restaurant and they first of all said "it is just the recipe" because the mozzarella contains a high level of water. This is not a problem I have encountered elsewhere. Perhaps they needs to look at the recipe. Hilariously when I said, don't other people complain, she said yes they do - A LOT! How this place is still in business I don't know. I really hope they sort something out as I would give them another chance. Such a shame.

We ordered this to be delivered. The pizza crust was so thin that we couldn't pick it up without it breaking apart. There were only 4 very small pieces of mozarella cheese on my margarita pizza and very little tasteless sauce. My husband ordered his with olives (total 4!), anchovies (that you couldn't even see) and capers (where are they?). We won't be ordering from this restaurant again.

Turned up for a pre booked 10th birthday to find they had let other people order and had zero space for us. Really frustrating and disappointing. Poor business skills and will never eat there.

Being told you'd wait 15 minutes for your order - only to find half an hour later you're still sat in your car waiting, and a couple who turned up 15 minutes after you are being given their order. Pizzas just sat there and desserts have been forgotten about, so another wait. No apology, no niceties, just tough luck basically. Lovely pizza but won't be going back.

We have ordered from here on several occasions now and always been really pleased. The pizzas are authentic Italian pizzas, not loaded with greasy cheese and toppings! All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. We usually order the deal for 4 pizzas and a tub of ice cream for £30 which is also amazing value. Highly recommended.

This is a little gem. The pizzas are out of this world. Lots of choice and accommodated staff. Outside seating but great for takeaway too

Seriously lovely food! Fresh toppings, the sauce was delicious (I don’t like tomato purée as a base but this was fresh fresh fresh) cooked just right and the young lad that served me was so polite and couldn’t do enough .. thank you Pizza 1889 .. my new favourite 😍

Ordered a pizza without chillies. No problem ... 10 minutes! Waited 10 minutes, then 10 minutes more. An unpleasant argument kept us occupied while we waited. Finally took pizza home to find it full of chillies. Not edible. We decided not to be taken for mugs so drove back to return it. By then I had no time to wait another 20 minutes or so for another pizza - we're all busy people. We were told they don't do refunds but would we like someone else's pizza that had been packed into a takeaway bag for delivery but was yet to be picked up? Would I? NO! The extremely young staff had been given the authority (or training) to deal with problems. They insisted I get a refund from the website. I stuck to my guns and got my money back. So glad that I did as when I checked the website at home I found the "contact us" page doesn't help make contact with anyone. It just gives addresses of their restaurants which are presumably all staffed by undervalued young people. It's quite shocking. I'd love to talk to someone in the organisation to suggest some improvements but I can't see how it can be done. I shan't return until I can be sure these poor youngsters are being treated fairly and proper systems are in place to handle mistakes.

If you would like one of the best pizzas given to you by one of the most miserable and rude members of staff then please visit this place in Bristol on Monday nights If you would like spending your money and feeling like you were bothering them for asking for a pizza you will love it

First time ordered for delivery, pizzas arrived wrong so my boyfriend couldn’t eat with me! They gave us a coupon, We try to use it online but that’s impossibile to use, tried to call the restaurant and the person who answered the phone wasn’t helpful at all. So we decided to take food somewhere else. Third time trying to use the coupon on the website, impossible again, the coupon doesn’t go through and trying to call again but the line is always busy. I won’t order anymore in this place! I’m speechless

I was very satisfied with my trip to pizza1889. By far the best pizza in bristol. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

We thought we'd treat ourselves to a clic and collect, ordered a meal for 4 and were not disappointed. The pizza was delicious, you could tell it was made fresh! Would highly recommend if you want a special treat at a fraction of the price...

Bloody lush mind. Proper nice base, light and thin. Smashed a whole 12" into my face and regret nothing. Not greasy or doughy which I find with other national competitors... Will definitely order again. Super fast delivery as well - booya!

The pizza was delicious and well made, the service was great and pizza came within 5 minutes, you can also see the pizza cooking as you wait.

I have been here a few times and the pizzas have been of a consistently high standard. Very tasty, good value for money. Only one minor issue, white onion used on one of the special pizzas rather than red onion.

I can't claim to be a pizza connoisseur but this was the tastiest one I've had in years, and it was hard not to go straight back for a greedy second one. Congratulations to the chefs for providing a good service.
