Pizza Freak in Leeds

Not bothered to leave a review here until now but these guys are the real deal. Just had a very sub-par pizza experience with another local place and realised Pizza Freak deserve all the recognition. Don't tell Sylvio and the Wolfpack are personal favourites. Great specials, top flavour and 10/10 price per slice. Burley's finest.

The Detroit style was a game changer, wish they could do slices as the serving size as well so I could try the different ones, but that won't be stopping me from giving 5 stars

Ordered the Italian Shroomie and Freak Fries. The fries were better than the pizza but you could taste the oil in them. The pizza was pretty much tasteless and very greasy. Also waited around 35 minutes for the food with only one person who had already ordered before we got there. Disappointed with the food as the menu looked quite good.

Never been in the restaurant but have ordered from here about 5 times and it’s without a doubt the closest to a New York slice I’ve ever had out of New York I feel like I’m back there everytime I eat here. Food did take a while to be delivered (but that’s Ubers fault not the restaurants) and they still managed to keep the pizza warm for when it got here, definitely the place to go in Leeds for a good pie

The best pizza I ever had in Leeds. I won't say it is a traditional pizza but it is flavorful and tasty. This has become my go to place for Pizza and I have dined in and has taken away a few times now and never disappointed. It is a small place and small team, so I won't recommend dine in as they are extremely busy with delivery orders they may not get time to give you a quality service. My suggestion would be is to collect it from there so you could get your food warm. My favorites are dirty little things and Lockdown. Lockdown especially, it is a rectangular Detroit type Pizza, thick and full of Cheese, pizza sauce, jalapeno and pepperoni - I just love it. Their Freak fries are worth dying for.

Ordered the “Don’t Tell Silvio” pizza, and WOW – that ham hock cooked in Kirkstall Brewery is next level! The flavor was unreal – so tasty and perfectly salty, and the combination with pineapple? Absolute genius. Every bite was perfection. Can’t wait to work my way through the rest of their pizzas, but honestly, that ham hock has set the bar so high! 10/10 would recommend. Keep it up, Pizza Freak!

Ordered thru justeat apparently it was made and picked up I was charged even took a picture of the closed restaurant roller shuttered and impossible to pick up anything just eat didn't refund and I certainly never received my food avoid this resturant as I'm not the only person this has happened to and use user eats or deliveroo as you will not get anywhere with the complaints department of justeat located in Bangladesh total joke

After reading the reviews I thought this was gonna be a safe bet. If this is the best pizza Leeds has to offer I feel sorry for the city. Pizza was a bit too doughy. Cheese was very greasy. I've honestly had better out of an Indian takeaway. The hot honey was a bit of a disappointment. Looked like they just mixed a bit of chilli powder into it. I will say the marinara dip was top notch which is why they got 2 stars

Take too long to make order I don’t like wait

Great value for money --- huge portions. Food quite tasty, better than your cheap takeaway. We had to wait some time though, and if you eat in there is a small space. Worth popping in if you aren't in a hurry

Been to Pizza Freak for only a little while now and I've been holding back on reviewing as I wanted to see how this place held up long term. Safe to say it's one of the best pizzas I have ever had, that's not taking into account some of the best sides I have had as well. The owner has and and still continues to put a lot of time into research of what makes pizza so good, as they nail it every time. I have only eaten within the restaurant but have seen negative reviews about delivery, if you have had a bad delivery give this place another chance and come visit it in the restaurant. It's not the restaurants fault if you get a poor deliveroo or just eat driver, not everything is in the hands of the restaurants. This place stands out and it's fantastic. Going to make this place a monthly treat of mine.

It's a fantastic place to sit in and eat, but a small space so only a few tables. Nicely decorated, and clean. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the food is superb. I order from them all the time, and I've been in to try their specials when they're on offer and they've never missed. Always high quality, always delicious. One of the best pizza places in the North!

Food was amazing so filling definitely ordered too much which was great for next day leftovers. Pricier than your more traditional pizzas places but you definitely get what you pay for with these great tasting food

Amazing pizza place. Really decent prices and the quality is top notch! We both had the lunch deals - one with the giant slices of pizza and the other with the meatball sandwich! Would definitely come again!

Excellent deep dish, red sauce is a definite winner! The staff were really accomodating and eating in the restaurant was way better than ordering out!

My partner and I dropped in before going to the cinema, we ordered the Lock down detroit pizza. What a taste sensation, the quality of the ingredients is excellent and the cheesy crust is like eating a giant cheese toastie!! Epic and one pizza is easily enough for 2 to share. Love it and can't wait to try more of the menu.

The first time I had Pizza Freaks, I was enamoured. Lots of toppings, perfectly cooked, delicious and fresh pizza. The second time though, I don't know why, but it was gritty - almost like it had been sat on some fine sand, and I found white fuzzy bits, like it had brushed against a piece of clothing. I didn't finish the pizza the first night, thinking I'd just had a glass of wine too many, but when I tried it again the next day, it was just as gritty - not my imagination. Not sure if this is from what it was cooked on, but I didn't have that grit the first time around...

I was so intrigued to try Detroit style pizza. It did not disappoint!

Was sadly disappointed by this: pizza was stodgy & was not unlike the tray pizza you used to get at school; sour (not tangy) tomato taste, spongey base & sloppy toppings. Had the Korean Chicken Wings as well which were good, just not enough to offset the pizza.

So hard to find places that do non-tomato based pizza, this place has such an awesome selection. The lucha libre was exceptional

Really good Detroit style pizza, deep pan but light and a great choice of toppings. Staff were really friendly, sitting in was a good experience with a good choice of slightly unusual beers and soft drinks for those that want them. We'll be back to try the wings!

Pizza was very bland and oily, not cut either - pictures on Deliveroo looked very seasoned but in real life there was a whole section with pepperoni missing, no seasonings in sight - slightly burning a pizza is cool and all but where is the flavours. I would not recommend. The Garlic knots were decent - best part of the order. Don’t think I’d try this place again to be honest.

Collected our pizzas, garlic dough knots and meatballs from here today and it was all excellent. So glad we tried this tonight as it will be our goto from now on. The 5 star hygeine rating is also attractive considering the many other places in the area. Really tasty and fresh food, plus friendly service.

We called here first thing Saturday lunchtime after watching a YouTube review of this establishment, two hours round trip. The service we received whilst ordering and collecting a takeaway was polite and friendly and playing good tunes. The 'Fat Elvis' pizza and the Ham hock, pineapple and mozzarella pizza were amazing, quality ingredients, especially the ham. We also got a portion of Freak Fries which were great but we unfortunately forgot to order a couple of dips to go with them, which they need. Good value for your money when you consider the quality and quantity. Highly recommended.

One of the only authentically done Detroit-style pizzas I’ve had in the UK. Absolutely fantastic. Moved away now but miss it!

Great pizza. Probably the best pizza in Leeds. Each comes topped with loads of cheese, the toppings are great and the service was good too. Pizzas are cooked and out of the oven really quickly and are served piping hot. All toppings are gluten free and can be put onto a gluten free base, which is one of the best I've ever had. Gluten free pizzas have be be ordered whole, but normal pizzas are also sold by the slice.

If hole in the wall dining is your thing, you will lie Pizza freak. The garlic knots are worth the heart disease qe will undoubtedly suffer in the future. We love the specials but any of the menu will see you happy. Ask for a box to take home. No chance you 're finishing what you ordered. They serve a nice IPA , think it's Amityville? A local Leeds brew.

Best pizza in Leeds. Proper American style pizza with a crispy base and tangy sauce. Cheaper than Dominos and a million times better. Eat in if you can, best straight out the oven.

This is the best pizza and garlic knots in Leeds. The detroit pizzas are big and very filling. 2-3 people size. The garlic knots and marinara are so good, everyone is gonna want their own box. The beer selection is also good. Always unique beers to try. Easy parking in the back. Love the punk atmosphere. Smells like a classic American pizzeria.

Genuinely one of the nicest Pizzas I have ever eaten!

If I was on death row my last meal would be from this place. Never had any issue with quality or service, and the guys behind the counter are spot on. We only work up the road but "pizza freak friday" has been born.

Literally the best pizza place in Leeds, the pizza and omg the honey sauce! The vibe, the loaded fries.... Everything! We literally don't eat anywhere else, plus for some reason my cat is obsessed with sitting on their pizza boxes when we get delivery! Love this place

I felt that I should leave a review for Pizza Freaks as I feel quite concerned about their packaging. The pizza itself was fantastic however I would not recommend spiritually informed people to order from here. The pizzas are delivered in a box that has a literal ouija board printed on it, ordering a pizza from this place means accepting this board and the historical energy behind Ouija into your home… These spiritual traditions and methods of communication are not a trendy marketing opportunity, I hope better design choices are made in the future.

Unrivalled pizza experience, never seen anything like it in Leeds. Highly recommend the Detroit style ones. Lot of great pizza places in Leeds but this one has its own unique twist. Really friendly staff going above and beyond to make sure you're happy.

Ordered a Yonkers pizza and fries. The fries were great, very tasty. But the pizza was awful! It was very bland, very oily, and not cut at all. For such an expensive pizza, I was expecting it to have some flavour other than generic mozzarella.

Awful service. Placed a relatively large order of over £50 via Just Eat, they accept he order, then cancelled it within the delivery window because they had received a 'larger order'. Updated review Thanks very much for your reply. Maybe you don't understand that the customer is always right. And maybe you should reconsider using Just Eat if this is the type of service you receive from them. Also, how about some kind of apology rather than the snarky response.

Over from N.Ireland for a few days, have to say it's the best pizza I have ever eaten, the ham is actual ham, not the sliced rubbish, the dough you can tell is fresh, the base was beautiful, garlic dip is very nice aswel, now when I go home I won't want pizza, that's only negative 😂

Went for night out in Leeds, needed food, could've chosen any one of tens of food places but we stumbled into this place - very possibly the best pizza I've ever had! Absolutely amazing! The decor, the vibe, the food - brilliant. Even the names of the pizzas were refreshingly different - we had a Don't Tell Silvio. Will definitely be back.

Hugely overrated, their highly rated pizza according to deliveroo was not great - 2 stars at best. Chicken wings were huge but that's the best thing I can say about them.

First time ordering from here and might not do it again. I ordered a pizza and some buffalo wings.. Well, I got my pizza but didn't get my Buffalo wings I paid for. So rang the establishment, and because I ordered through Justeat, I've got to email them to get my money back, as the shop wouldn't cook them and resend them to me. I really wanted those wings as well. So this isn't the best in my eyes... It was a shame, as the pizza was really good.

The Detroit style pizza is amazing. There are a few other places in Leeds that do Detroit style, but nowhere nearly as well as pizza freak. The base is bulky as you'd expect, but even though its a heavy pizza, the base still has lots of lovely air bubbles to keep it from being too dense. The cheese and the sauce are tasty and the toppings goof quality, but you're best off just get the one with cheese and tomato. The best pizza I've had probably.

Highly recommend Pizza Freak. Ordered pizzas and fries yesterday for a 70th birthday party. They were excellent, everyone really enjoyed them and many commented how good they were. Thank you.

The pizza was undercooked. It looks like it was cooked on too high heat and the top/bottom looked okay but inside was like chewing gum. Also smaller than it used to be, no branded box anymore, very very disappointed for the price. £17 for pizza that's undercooked is appalling and this company really need to lower the prices or up their pizza game because right now it's a joke. The 2 stars is for the garlic knots with the marinara sauce. I wouldn't waste your hard earned money here at all. If you can't cook a dough then you shouldn't be cooking.

I was intrigued by this place since I had never tried detroit-style pizza before. Unfortunately the experience was mediocre at best and I won't order again. Delivery was reasonably fast and the food arrived hot. The pizza was substantial for the price, the box felt surprisingly heavy and the packaging was very nice. I opened the box up to find that annoyingly it not cut up into slices, something that was difficult and messy for me to do with pizza this thick. The red sauce was perhaps excessively thick and completely overpowered the taste of the cheese, which by the way was extremely uneven with loads on one side but hardly any on the other. The crispy brown edges looked appetising at first but turned out to be mostly cheese which had gone down the size of the pan and burnt giving a bitter taste. I also ordered meatballs and dough knots with nutella and both were OK.

Why is this pizza soaked and soggy with oil? Sorry but awful pizza. £20 for this meal. The fries are horrible like they were cooked in month old dirty oil as were the dough bites (and know what food cooked in old dirty oil looks like as I've cooked in establishments). Everything soggy and absolutely full of oil. What are you aiming at here? I can't believe people like this. First time pizza and fries is going in the bin

Got a deep dish pizza. Simple one. Just with pepperoni etc. Absolute banger. Authentic. Light not stodgy. Full of everything yet not overlord. Guys are cool too. Few nice craft cans to grab once you wait for collection or when you down. Definitely one of the best pizza in this style I have ever tried. Will be coming back regularly now! Well done guys. I get a pizza weekly from here & they are delicious. Large choice for toppings. I’m also dairy free & they do my pizza without dairy/cheese. Never had a bad pizza from here.

I've never actually been inside, only ever done a collection and driven from Bingley; I'm committed you see. This is one of the only places in the UK that does a detroit pizza and eating there amazing food takes me back to being in Chicago! Great service and great food.

Anyone who loves pizza needs to get their order in to Pizza Freak. The pizzas are always delicious but the Detroit's are just on another level. (We've worked our way through the menu!) We always get delivery both at home and with friends. We've only ever had one problem with an order (no-one at fault - there was a technical issue) but the team were great, sorted everything quickly. Great customer service on top of gorgeous food at very reasonable prices. Don't miss out on these amazing pizzas!

Took a chance with Pizza Freak and never looked back, quality is high, taste factor unbelievable (I’ve actually enjoyed pineapple on pizza from these guys it’s so good). Highly recommend trying at least once, go pick it up as it’s cheaper than ordering it in!

First time at pizza freak this week. The pizzas were massive and tasted beauty along with the arancini and k pop wings for sides! They’ve a wide selection of pops and beers, the music was an added bonus. The staff here were welcoming and friendly…will definitely be back!

Literally the best pizza I’ve ever had, it even beats the many pizzas I’ve had in the US. The Detroit style fortune pizza is absolutely unreal, the cheesy crust on the outside is incredible. They must use very high quality ingredients because every single aspect of the pizza is top notch. Great value for money and I would recommend this place to anyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
