Pizza Express - Ashford in Ashford

Highly recommend the Romana pizza which is a thin base meaning you get more ingredients to dough. Ask for the chilli and garlic oil infusions to drizzle on top. Special offers are now through their app which also lets you pay the bill directly.

Ordered at 7.03pm arrived 8.35pm and was cold

I couldn’t fault the food itself. My only criticism is that it was only warm when it arrived.

Our favourite Pizza Express, really tasty pizza and great service from Amelia again. We’ll be back soon.

When ordering I got told that they couldn't do any of my particular kind of pizza at the time when I asked why the waitress said she didn't know when surely it could have been a simple explanation of "we have run out" but offered no such explanation or excuse. To go with that having to wait 20 minutes for drinks to be served and then 35 minutes for something as simple as dough balls to be served and when told "sorry about the wait" we didn't get to hear the excuse as the waitress was walking away from us whilst talking, to be sat also in a table around a dark corner about 60cm away from a set of stairs that if I pushed my chair back to get up I would fall down said stairs, very poor service and definitely not what I would expect from a pizza express.

Certain members of staff are clearly lazy and incompetent. I ordered a delivery on the Deliveroo App at around 9pm Christmas Eve. The order was accepted by the restaurant. I waited for around an hour and 10 minutes. The estimated delivery time was just continually changed, so I eventually phoned the restaurant at around 22:15, having Googled the store and seen that it said it had already closed for the night by that time. I had no communication from the restaurant. A woman answered (out of breath, like she'd run the catch the phone) who gave her name as Izzy to say that they were all going out the door and it, to paraphrase, was just tough luck that there were no drivers available and to ''go through Deliveroo''. She was rude, curt and continually referred to me as ''my lovely'' in a condescending manner. When I put it to her that I was not informed that my ordered had been cancelled despite the fact that they were all off out the door that minute, Izzy again brushed it off and just told me to ''go through Deliveroo''. She knew of the order but had no explanation at all as to why she wasn't going to bother to inform me that it wasn't being delivered. All very well saying ''go through Deliveroo' when it's gone 10pm, and you've no way of getting any dinner for the evening! This is not the kind of service I have come to expect from a company like Pizza Express. Your branch were at fault here for your staff's rudeness and not informing me that the delivery was cancelled!!!! It seems to me that the staff just do as they please and pass the buck onto Deliveroo whenever it suits them. Customer service is clearly not a priority. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from or visiting this branch again. It has become clear to me who's running this shower and the type that they are. NO EXCUSE FOR BAD SERVICE. SAD!!!!!!!!!!!

Waited 2 and a half hours for food, in the end just ended up getting it in a take away box and leaving, during the waiting time no staff came to our table offering us drinks or anything! They said we had to “pre order” the food but had only received one email just confirming the booking… what a joke 18/12/24

Pizza Express always provides a consistent experience. The food is good but not flashy, the service is efficient and understated and the prices are competitive. It's a great place for a casual but satisfying meal.

This restaurant has been going down hill for a few years now. Shame as it always used to be decent and consistent. Prices are now silly and the food is below average. Went in for early dinner on 18/10/24, dough balls over cooked, salad with kids dough balls looked like it had been hanging around all day, calamari was soggy, lettuce in the salad was old and limp. Overall very disappointed, especially considering the hefty price tag of £80 for two adults and two kids! Cant justify that sort of money for under par food. Service was decent, so credit to the only waitress on at the time.

entire pizza was missing from the order, as well as a side. the crispy potatoes are soggy and undercooked and missing the cheese that's meant to be on top. poor quality and very disappointing. no help from restaurant with missing pizza. one person went without their dinner!

Been coming here for years, most of the waiting staff here know our order by heart but today we walked in more than an hour before closing and this waitress we have never seen before tells me and my wife that they were short-staffed and can’t serve us so we should do takeaway. How hard is it to carry two pizzas to a table? Ridiculous!

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful Manager who remembered us from a previous visit. The pizzas were delicious having been cooked to perfection and were served in a polite and friendly way. This Pizza Express has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that is down to the professionalism of all the staff. We will certainly return soon.

It was totally the wrong order. We ordered 3 pizzas and instead we got cabonara pasta and peperonata pasta.

really let down. pay for extra toppings on a creater your own pizza. mainly just cheese 4 anchovies on pizza. 5 tiny bits of pepperoni and some ham. cost £23 ridiculous

Pizza was tasty, hot and very much enjoyed. Child's drink carton had expanded and tasted horrible, surprised the restaurant included it, as was obviously not right.

Pasta was undercooked, tasteless and cold. Delivery driver was rude. Apparently he’s tried to call me and it wouldn’t connect so he had a go at me and practically threw the bag of cold food at me. I’m only in town for work so if he had struggled to find the address I doubt I could have helped him. Either way, unprofessional.

Very friendly staff, great service and prefer this pizza express for atmosphere. However the Romana Spicy Guiseppe had hardly any base sauce or cheese on it so in the end it felt like I was eating an extremely thin wrap and had to get something to eat when I got home. I’m not sure if this is because it’s a romana but a bit deceptive. Dough balls, great as always.

One of the over hyped average pizza venture. Everytime when we order the same thing it tastes different every time. So much overhyped overpriced pizza. Just worst. Even if we pay for a garlic spread they are giving you some cheap butter.dont know what these guys are doing.

Ordered nearly £70 worth of food and it turned up 20 minutes later stone cold and two of the pizzas still had raw dough. Doughballs were burnt and cold. The pollo was a joke and looked like it was somebody’s leftovers. Will never be getting food here again and when you try to contact them about it they completely ignore you

Staff on the whole, very friendly and helpful. Small mix up with kids food but was very swiftly rectified and didn’t impact our visit. Only really mentioning as a positive because it was dealt with so promptly that my 8yo didn’t even notice. Food was also extremely tasty. Our waitress was really lovely and efficient and great at building a rapport even with the kids. Handled my kids menu adjustments and wife’s gluten allergy with easy, confidence and understanding. Really nice visit, thank you!

Pizza is VERY dry. I can’t see any sauce on it. Had to get the ketchup out. Also ‘romana’ was supposed to be ‘thinner and crisper’. It was definitely thinner but had no crispy aspect at all. The supposedly hot green peppers tasted like pieces of dried up cabbage and looked like it. Disappointed considering the top level price.

Always a family favourite. Service is good and staff are always helpful. The food is great here too. Having been to other branches this is our favourite. Close to a carpark. Would definitely recommend this branch of pizza express.

Having gone to two pubs, neither of which were serving food, we were running out of options. Fortunately we bowled into Pizza Express. And it was a great night. Prompt and polite service, lovely setting, great wine (Argentine Malbec) and the food was great. High quality and good-size serves. Big thankyou to our waitress Jasmine. She looked after us really well. We'll be back.

Great service, we were seated in our own area upstairs, there were 17 of us, a family group. Genuinely helpful staff, great food.

It was absolutely pleasure to share time with my teammates on our lunch brake. We sat outside on sunny weather. We’ve been well served by our knowledgeable waitress. I went into this establishment not expecting much but was appalled to discover that the standards of food had slipped so far and the price mark had jumped so high - it was absolutely bonkers. If you want a great pizza, do not go here, if you want great wine, do not go here, if you want soggy calamari, go here. That is all folks.

The staff and food were quite excellent. The premises themselves must be due refurbishment in side and out. A deepclean, and fresh coat of paint would not go amiss.

My husband and I visited here yesterday we had visited a couple of months ago and were disappointed with the bad service so we thought we would give them another try. Megan our waitress was excellent she gave us her undivided attention and made sure I was looked after because of a food allergy I had. Our drinks were quickly brought to us and our food too the food was hot and very tasty the chef even changed what I ordered to cater for my allergy. When I thanked Megan and asked her name she informed me that this was only her second shift I said to my husband she has been trained well and had taken to it like a duck to water. We shall be returning she is an asset to Pizza Express a big thank you to one and all.

I simply love this place for their most caring and ever smiling staff. They greet you very warm and take care of you till you leave. Extraordinary temperament with very friendly gestures. Food is great and seating arrangements are cozy n comfy ..I would love to go again n again ..

I placed the order shortly after 17:30 to be delivered by 18:45 which should have given the restaurant enough notice to ensure it arrived on time and hot - it actually arrived 19:45 and the food was only lukewarm, the pizza's were also not cut properly into slices as we expected - overall it was pretty much the worst experience we've ever had with Just Eat which was extremely disappointing as we love Pizza Express pizza's.

My husband and I went here recently it wasn’t busy as there were only 3 other tables inside which had people at plus 3 tables outside. We were shown to our table and given menus. We waited at least 15 to 20 minutes before we were asked if we wanted drinks we finally placed our drinks order and also our food order. By the time we received our first course there were only 2 tables left with customers including ours then once we had our main course we were the only ones left. We waited quite sometime for our plates to be removed then my husband asked for the desert menu. Once he ordered it he waited and waited it was becoming busier by then but there were plenty of staff all in all the service was bad considering that they weren’t busy we have visited here quite a few times and have never had bad service before. On a positive note we enjoyed our meals the pizza I chose was the best pizza I have had it was delicious. Come on Pizza Express you can do better.

I really love this restaurant and order the pasta alot. Had my normal pasta but via delivery and when you pay £14 for a dish that you know is of ample amount in the restaurant but turns up not even full in a foil carton, it's very disappointing! A few mouthfuls and it was gone.

Wasn't happy with meal. It was completely different to last time I'm guessing different chef. The egg came boiled and cut in chunks on pizza not like normal u have egg in middle. Was not tasty and I got extra thin base rather than base I ordered. Not happy

Booked a table for 4 friends . One person had a voucher so we went for the 2 course option Dough balls tasty starter . Pizzas came enormous but delicious ! One person was GF which was well catered for The issue was paying using the voucher only worked for 1 so we all downloaded the app but then bill couldn’t be amended not that the manager tried very hard This could really effect people if they don’t end up paying what they expect the bill to be

Lovely meal shame most of the team serving went on break leaving 1 poor waitress serving the whole busy restaurant and we waited an age to get dessert. Shame it spoilt a beautiful meal as my kids were getting very frustrated!
