Surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night but great service and food! Saskia is new to the restaurant but did brilliantly,thanks for a lovely visit.

We are regular visitors at pizza express Rochester and can’t ever fault the meal or service we often visit on a Saturday and Izedin is extremely friendly and a great server. We last visited yesterday and again we weren’t disappointed. Would recommend 😊

Food doesn't taste better than a fancy Grocery store yet you're paying ×4 for it to be served to you so if that's your thing it's the place to be. Also a bottle of wine ....you could've bought 4 at the grocery store too ....so defending on your priorities.....it's hard to rate fairly🫤

Very nice lunch for our visit to Rochester. I had Calzone which was very good served with Polenta chips. Air con made it a bit chilly but it was soon dealt with by the staff.

We didn't book a table but they accommodated us easily. I had £13 of tesco vouchers to use and not much money to spend. We got the American and a piccolo kids meal and shared with my two kids aged 5 and 3. The kids meal was great value. They got a small pizza 🍕, dough balls and dessert 🍨 for £7.99. Bare in mind during summer holidays, You get a kids' free meal if you buy an adult main. My bill was a total of £9.50 and we throughly enjoyed it.

Partner requested pizza express delivery for her birthday. Order placed through Deliveroo for GF pizza turned up with a vegan sticker and the wrong pizza. Attempted to to call the store multiple times in a 30 minute period with no answer. Awful service, we will never come to this store again.

Had pizza express through just eat at the weekend as a well earned treat, just under £50 you would expect food to be half decent and when I have eaten there before it had been so I had high hopes! Food took over 2 hours to arrive, ALL food was stone cold including the meat in the calzone, pizza had not even been cut up, tomato salad disappointing and the sauces I paid for had maybe a teaspoon of sauce in each pot, so disappointed no apology from the restaurant, I even called to express my frustration as it was taking so long. Really gutted as I love pizza express and this is the first bad experience I have had, food was honestly stone cold, maybe just eat is not the way forward? Really truly gutted and I never complain :( just eat offered me a £20 refund which I will be appealing as I would like the whole bill refunded.

We had a leaving lunch at pizza express, the food was great but was a bit slow for a lunchtime, particularly if it's lunch hour dependant. Staff lovely and overall good. Perhaps a quick turnaround menu would be good for lunch times? May attract more ?

My friend and I came here the other day and had a great time! Our server was lovely and super helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was fast to come out and tasted superb. Would definitely come again!

We had a very enjoyable meal with friends. Our waitress, Demi, was very helpful and friendly. The Manager, Caita, was also very friendly, we recommend it.

It's been a long time since mum and I have visited PizzaExpress, Rochester High Street, Medway Kent. We've not been back since COVID, other stuff getting in the way. On arrival, we noticed the place has been redecorated. Mum and I were very impressed. Mum is elderly and very frail. She cannot get out and about easily but we've agreed it would be good for us both to do more social stuff again, so hopefully we can make more regular visits to Rochester PizzaExpress, especially after our first trial run, was such a rip-roaring success! Quiet, clean, low key, with a safe and friendly atmosphere and great food and drink. This was good for mum's mental health and my tummy too. So much good can come from simply having a great time. To be honest, the atmosphere is equally important to food and drink as the main point of the journey was to get mum out of the house and somewhere nice, with tasty food.

1st time visiting this restaurant and ended up with the Bosco salad! It was divine!!! So nice I've bought the ingredients to try and recreate it... I took mom who had pizza - can't remember which one but she inhaled it and loved every bite. I wish I could remember our servers name as he definitely made the visit even more enjoyable with his lovely, warm attitude.

I had a meal at the Rochester Pizza Express for my best friends birthday. The service was incredible. We were served by a lady called Demi. She was constantly attending to us and made us feel really welcome. The food came quickly and she made sure we were topped up with drinks. I accidently broke a glass and felt embarrassed, however she was so attentive and told me not to worry. I wanted to tip but unfortunately didn't have any cash on me. It was the best customer service I have experienced in a long time and this lady was def an asset to the company. The food was also amazing. I am now thinking of booking a table for my birthday, especially after the extremely professional waitress showed us the pizza express app and told us what deals we can get if we become regulars. Thankyou!

A very pleasant experience at their Rochester branch. Lovely and warm inside too! We had a half and half pizza which is a great idea. Thin and crispy is our choice, one side was Margherita with some tasty ham added and the other with goats cheese,onion, caramelised onion and spinach. The tomato base was very tasty which I often find lacking elsewhere. Would recommend downloading the Pizza Express app, we got a free dough ball starter just for downloading it. Once we paid for our meal another free item was added for next time. We didn't have dessert as we felt they are really overpriced with most being almost £7. IMHO £5.95 is the maximum for the type of desserts they offer. The staff were all friendly, they checked back on us regularly. The restaurant was clean and it's possible to see the kitchen which also looked clean and well organised

Never order a delivery from here. I’ve ordered 4 times and each time I’ve either received the wrong dish or entire dishes were missing. The restaurant never pick up the phone, but if you do manage to get through they blame Uber. When you contact Uber they blame Pizza Express. Each time I’ve emailed customer service to complain and they could not care less. A complimentary starter does not make up for a pizza being missing or a meat pizza being delivered when you’re vegan.

Booked Saturday lunch and service was SoW and food only tepid when it arrived. Pizza and cannelloni.

1st day of Christmas Market. Dirty tables, long wait even when seated had to wait 25mins for order to be taken, then food came, missing item which had to ask for. Then paying for bill had to wait another 20mins for someone to even come with pdq machine to take payment. They knew it was 1st day of Christmas Market so why not more staff who actually know what they are doing.

Still no carbonara. But recent family meal was all you could ask for. Service with a smile was especially welcome.

I attended a family meal last week and the food and service were impeccable ! Got to meet the manager with long blonde hair. She was lovely and created a very inviting atmosphere - i will definitely be coming back !!!

Have eaten at PE 40+ times over the years and this was the first time have had delivered. Away for work and had a hard day and have to be up for 4am tomorrow, so ordered in to the hotel that I am staying in as trying to chill and relax (did not have the energy to go out to eat). The order ended up being 30 mins later than expected and when it arrived was stone cold. The pizza had not be pre-cut and there was also no cutlery so was tricky to try and eat. No napkins either and the dough balls had gone soggy. Hadn't noticed that the coke was a bottle when I ordered and needed to have a bottle opener so was unable to drink it. I have got another 3 nights staying here and based on this experience would not use delivery again. Order#4430

Had my daughter’s 9th birthday party here. She had a pizza making party, it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the kids had the best time making their own pizzas, they all loved the food and the whole experience was much better than I expected. Great value for money, I would definitely recommend it for a child’s party.

We had booked a table for two, when we got there I asked for a quieter table, we were shown to a table next to the kitchen and toilet entrance so busy and loud, the doughballs were cold, altogether not a good experience, won't be using again. With out a doubt the worst overpriced meal out I have ever had.

All the comments about an hour’s wait, is true sadly, service will forget about you here and there and need reminding. The food is passable.

Firstly I must say once my food arrived it was very good. OK so we ordered 3 childrens meals when their starters came we were told my partners side of coleslaw was not available and given an alternative. The kids mains came still no sign of our mains. Then about 15 minutes later (45 after we ordered) I was told there was no lettuce for my salad I ordered an alternative and then our mains came about 20 minutes later. The waiting staff were actually really good but I do feel that the kitchen need to get it together. Running out of simple things mid week is not acceptable or good practice and to leave it so long before we were told was also not great. I would return but if I had the same experience again it would make me think twice about.

Our experience was extremely poor. We were seated next to the kitchen and forced to listen to the crashing and banging of crockery throughout our meal. Additionally the restaurant was so loud that we couldn’t hear ourselves speaking without raising our voices, that was without the constantly screeching children with the family adjacent to us! Then there was the food. The calamari that we started with was either burnt and crunchy, or soggy. The best part was the mayo dip. When my partner ordered the Pollo Pesto, the waiter said that they had ‘run out’ of pesto. Instead of removing the dish from the menu, she was offered it without pesto or with red pesto. She opted to have the dish without. When it arrived it was just plain chicken in bechamel sauce. I ordered ‘Nduja Calzone without fiery chillies, but the waiter returned and said that I couldn’t have this dish without fiery chillies, which suggests that this dish is not freshly prepared in the restaurant. I reordered and had a pizza instead. It was okay, if a little crunchy in places! And all this, three dishes and two drinks, plus the overbearing atmosphere, cost £50… Overall, a very disappointing evening, one that we will not repeat nor recommend.

Awful!! Terrible starter, advertised as king prawns but not king prawns. Probably dumped in from frozen and when we mentioned the hot and cold parts in the same dish were told it’s because it has fresh tomatoes and onions. Cannelloni had to be sent back as burnt and inedible. Sat us right next to the kitchen and toilets even though we’d pre booked. Paid £84 for 4; 3 pizzas, 1 cannelloni, 2 perroni’s, a coke and the (same) 2 disgusting starters. People who don’t know how to cook are currently here

Always have to wait long even restaurant is not busy this is last time here the Owner or company do want to spend money or staff waiting for my.collection order more then 30 mints even I ordered online before what a bad management

Awful experience. This used to be a failsafe place for an easy dinner or something more special. Booked a table for relatives visiting from abroad. Were given the worst table opposite the kitchen, banging and crashing ALL evening. Burnt pasta dish served to the table had to be sent back. Tasteless garlic prawn starters that were half cooked, half uncooked with no garlic taste and lumps of raw onion. Flies annoying our table all evening. No hot honey doughballs. Got to the end of my pasta dish and there was a very long hair. Couldn't be sure it was mine or theirs; by that time couldn't complain anymore and just wanted to get out of there fast. Will never come back, such a shame a good safe restaurant for friends and family is now unusable. £80 for a very poor experience.

I have been a fan of Pizza Express for several years, but no more. I ordered a Romana garlic prawn pizza. Firstly, there were no butterflied garlic prawns, just a few bits of defrosted ordinary prawns and not many of them! There was a lot of red onion and some sparse spreading of cheese, but not much else. We live about mid-way between the branches at Canterbury and Rochester. Both of them have recently become very sparse with their toppings. I want more than one and a half defrosted prawns, a teaspoonful of cheese and a sprinkling of red onion for £16.95. Other food outlests are available and in the future, I shall be using one or more of them.

Very nice food but service is slow and all those disinfectant bottles and cloths hanging around and a grey bowl sitting on a table in the middle of the restaurant like somebody was doing the washing up is an eye ache. I also counted 4 tables with used glasses, either under staffed or someone isn't doing there job right. Theres lots of stuff laying around on the sides too at the back, looks untidy. From a Deliveroo perspective, awful communication between servers, the lady on Sunday 13th August was trying to put together the orders so she is far away from the front door but server with glasses on duty, couldn't care less about Deliveroo drivers. My order sat in the hot box for 10 mins, even the young girl said it was in the hot box for 10 mins. Absolutely disgusted with this service, that young server needs training better, he could have told the girl I was waiting but instead he was seating down customers, he even went past the girl 3 times. Frankie and Benny's do much better job, order from there if you want hot food

Popped in the other week for dinner and was served by a great lad, with a great sense of humour, wasn't just interested in getting our order and clearing off. The new app was a bit confusing but he sorted that out, food was good and the ability to pay through the app is a bonus as it was busy when we wanted to leave.

My kids have celiac. Amazing choice of gluten free pizza's. Dough ball's etc. So glad they made the change.

On the one evening we called in without a booking the restaurant was very busy, hot internally but we were welcomed and shown to a table without difficulty. Food good from a good menu, the staff were all working hard but Andrej deserves special mention for his attentive helpful manner

If you have family members who cannot eat carbs I don’t recommend bringing them here as there isn’t much choice unless they want a salad..

I think you go to a Pizza Express for reliability rather than an especially memorable haute cuisine experience... but the Rochester branch doesn't really deliver on any front. It's not terrible. We visited early on a Friday evening and ordered pizza. It took a long time to come; the table behind us (who arrived much later) received their pizzas before we did. My wife (who's vegetarian, but not vegan) asked whether the veggie calzone could be made with mozzarella, and was told that (for a reason the waiter didn't know) it was the only pizza which couldn't be modified. My garlic prawn pizza came without garlic, and was borderline undercooked. The cider was warm. The restaurant seemed over-endowed with waiting staff (not all of whom knew what to do with their time, so seemed to be hanging around the open-plan kitchen area, chatting) and under-endowed with chefs... the two of whom were lobbing food around (sometimes in the direction of plates, sometimes a bit less carefully) with something approaching abandon (they seemed stressed and overworked). We were seated nearby; it was disconcerting to see how many times food had to be replaced on plates with hands rather than other utensils (probably doesn't help on this front, having an open plan kitchen...). So... nothing awful happened, but overall it was just-about-acceptable and nothing more... which is shame, since it's a crowded marketplace and I have a fondness for Pizza Express. They need to try harder to survive, I feel, though...

this lovely waiter, i believe his name was charlie, looked after me and my family on the weekend. he was friendly to us all and patient with my young kids (sometimes they just don’t know what to get !) the food did not take long to come and tasted amazing. thankyou!

Good pizzas, Good Service, what more do you want. The new Hot Honey and Chilli Doughballs are a must, as is the Calamari.

Lots of small flies around our table and my pizza was well over-cooked. Strange that there were no small flies anywhere else around town.

Nice place, only 3 staff members including the staff so service is lacking a bit. Portion sizes for pasta are small considering the price also.

As someone who basically lives opposite, I feel I am able to give a fair review. The food is constantly cold and disgusting with little effort regarding presentation and taste. At least the previous management acknowledged their failings and constantly provided us with free drinks because the chef "didn't understand" Cheese and quorn being given as cheese as prawn wasn't really what we was looking for.... Latest complaint, the dough balls came plain without any butter. Upon complaint was told they had "ran out of butter" but was guaranteed they had put salad dressing as a "substitute" which they hadn't. Terrible overpriced meal, would recommended eating out of a bin comparatively. Wish I could have given 0 stars.

Extremely slow service. From arrival to having someone ask for our order was 25 mins. Order took 40 minutes and was missing some sides when it arrived. The food was, overall very nice but very few prawns on the pizza.

We had a lovely meal here last Saturday. It's the perfect place to take kids in my opinion; colouring in and activity books for the little ones, pizza and sides for everyone and a nice glass of wine for the grownups. We also had exceptional service from Charlie, and the manager was kind enough to offer a bit of flexibility on our booking as we didn't know exactly what time we'd get there.

The food is always delicious at Rochester and our waiter Andrzej (sorry if that's the wrong spelling) is so welcoming, cheerful and helpful. The Pizza Ecpress App is fabulous.

Pizza normally just falls to pieces. Food is normally quite nice although the staff constantly give the wrong order and provide slow service. New manager is very rude.
