the order never arrived!! i have complained but received no responses!

The service was slow. We had to wait a long time before our order was taken. Even asking for the bill and paying wasn't simple. The food was of a good standard and some of the staff seemed efficient.

The delivery driver got very close to us then decided to go back to the restaurant with our food and then came back to us. I have no idea what he was thinking, but the food was still cold.

Lovely pizza but sadly cold when delivered. The driver did not appear to have it in an insulated delivery bag.

So easy to book on the app and easy to pay between different people when with a group. The service is amazing and the dough balls are brilliant as well as the other foods on offer x

Noisy with large parties and other tables invading onto yours but enjoyable esp when quiet

Fab staff preparing tasty food, wide variety of choices and a pleasant environment to eat in. Will be visiting again

lasagne was not delivered very hot, was barely warm, salad was missing completely from order and only a few polenta chips in box, not good value

We’re big fans of a good Pizza Express but the service at the Banbury branch is really poor. Seemingly no manager and overwhelmed floor staff meant we waited an hour for our food on a Sunday evening.

When I placed the order the estimated time was 20-25mins but actually arrived 45mins later, although the tracker was updated. The food was cold so not great.

I use a small electric wheelchair and was spoken to and treated appallingly by the young ‘meet and greet’ female. The young lad that served the table was fantastic though. If it wasn’t for him, I would have left. The food was as expected but service was painfully slow. Wheelchair users please read below I arrived in my small electric wheelchair. The automatic outer doors were not working, so after a short while a diner came to open them for me so I could get in. I was greeted with a young lady and I said I’m part of a group booking which she did not believe and was surprised to see that the booking existed. I followed her to the table where she told (not asked) me ‘I could sit in that (pointing at my wheelchair) or I could sit on that (pointing at a chair). Which is it?.’ I said I would like to stay in my wheelchair. She then asked me ‘are there any more like you?’ To which I asked for clarification with does she mean wheelchair users, to which she said yes. I said no and she left me to manoeuvre my wheelchair into position. I’m very aware of my wheelchair leaving ample room behind me. Shortly afterwards, without asking she put her arm across the back of my head to hold in my walking stick (in its holder on the wheelchair) as other diners walked past When I felt what she was doing, I held it in myself. The others diners walking by were mortified and gave me facial expressions to relay that. On the way out, again, other diners offered to help me through the external door which she decided to intervene very loudly and spoke to me as if I was 3 years old and proceeded to call me sweetheart. I’m a professional employed person. Needless to say I won’t be going back.

Ordered as a treat because house prefers Dominos. Food ranged from burnt and dry to dry, cold and falling apart. I try to avoid negative reviews but last night's food was so bad.

We went to Pizza Express in Banbury for the first time tonight and everything was great! The manager Lunna was very friendly and helpful, as was the waitress Keira, both went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. I would definitely recommend. Thank you

Now visited here twice in one week and both times the service has been excellent and the food fabulous. Staff are particularly helpful, polite and very friendly with a special mention for Lunna who can’t help you enough. Currently one of my favourite places to stop for a coffee or lunch. Food was lovely but service incredibly slow. Took 2.5 hours in total when there were only 2 people at our table and 3 other tables with guests. We ordered fairly quickly but everything seemed to take a long time. The bill was incorrect 3 times (overcharged) and this took 45 minutes to resolve. My older children went there yesterday for a meal with work friends and had a very similar experience...long waiting times and a large overcharge in the bill. Sort it out, Pizza Express, or you'll lose all of your business to Pizza Calzone in the High Street!

We had a party of 24 and I must say Lunna and Jamie who look after us were amazing very attentive , flexible .. and very helpful and the food was great !!

Staff are lovely and tentative. Big thank you to Megan for making my mum’s birthday special, she enjoyed the birthday candle in her dessert despite her reaction, honest!

We arrived Approx 6:50 , plenty of of time to eat and get to the movies . We had booked for 5 and 5 arrived . We ordered drinks and the food the drinks arrived ok . We were being kidded into a false sense of security ? All around us pizza , dough balls salads ! Our table was bare ! 50mins later bare , nothing , nada . Some popped the question to a waiter , said waiter went off and never came back . Hmmm 🤔 suspicious. So we asked another , they came back with it will be 5 mins, But the guilty look said it all . So we asked to see the manger ( by now we had to get going to the movies ) No manger after another 5 mins . So we walked out and my daughter explained why . I was livid , unbelievable incompetence , nobody taking responsibility , all the front of house staff should be ashamed . All the usual hard work going on at the cooking stations people working flat out .

Pasta didnt have enough sauce so was dry.

I went to Pizza Express last week for the first time and everything was just great! From staffs to food. The lady manager Luna was very friendly and helpful and Luci the waitress was simply amazing!. The order didn’t take long and the pizza was tasty and delicious. I definitely recommend. Thank you

I recently dined at Pizza Express and was extremely disappointed with the service. Our waitress, Luna, displayed a shocking level of rudeness that made us uncomfortable throughout the meal. Her dismissive attitude seemed to be uncalled for as we were polite. The other member of staff was also poorly trained and had no basic etiquette or hospitality. Who trains these waitresses? From the start, there was no warm greeting, and basic manners like “please” or “thank you” were missing. The service was incredibly slow - waiting almost 45 minutes for one pizza and dough balls in a nearly empty restaurant. The dough balls were incorrect, but we didn’t complain and just ordered more. However, getting the attention of the staff was frustrating. At the end, when we asked to have our dough balls packed away, we were met with irritated looks and annoyance. I expected better from a well-known restaurant like Pizza Express, but this was by far the worst service I’ve ever experienced. We didn’t allow it to ruin our evening but it really could have. I sincerely hope management addresses this issue to prevent future customers from having a similar experience. Sadly, will not be returning.

The biggest thank you to Lunna and all the team for hosting our group of almost 50 people this weekend. We could not have asked for a better way to celebrate the success of a very long sports event nearby. From start to finish lunna and other managers who helped us organise were efficient, organised and super helpful! The planning made perfect and on the day, things could not have gone more smoothly. The staff were awesome, so welcoming and well prepared. All our orders were ready to go, all the food came out together, brilliantly made, and service was flawless. Many compliments received from across the group to say how well you all managed such a big (and quick!) event. No doubt at all that we will be back to do the same again next time. Thanks again from us all :-)

Went for daughter’s birthday with a few of her friends. Everything was accommodated and just to say we were welcomed, had great food and entertainment here. Nothing too much trouble and staff very attentive and great attitude. Special dessert was done to wish her a happy birthday. Thanks to Grace and Leanne x

Whatever you do, don't order food for delivery around 9pm on a Friday. Pizza may have well been cooked by candlelight it was so underdone... Original bruscetta was folded in two and crunchy?? How is that even possible?? All served tepid, courtesy of our useless bicycle courier from Uber Eats. All for the bargain price of £40. Hang your heads in shame... Will not order again.

My wife and a friend just had a lunch meal at Pizza Express, Castle Quay Banbury, we were all so disappointed with such poor quality food, I had a pizza with next to no topping on it, most of the topping was tomato puree and a light sprinkle of cheese and a few prawns scattered on top, my wife had lasagne with like a mince juice, our friends meal was so poor, we called the waiter over to complain, thankfully we were not charge for that, what a shame really, made our visit there really unpleasant, never again

Food was amazing, really enjoy the fresh ingredients. However as with several other deliveries recently from justeat the delivery time keeps being pushed back and today my food arrived cold.

Went for a meal for my sister's birthday, big group, poor waitress clearly had no training, she did her very best, with no help from the manager. They ended up bringing out the wrong pizza and were so rude about it and practically huffed about it when I had to send it back, due to dietary requirements. Paying on the app is an absolute shambles, over complicated and after we all paid the bill, another payment came up, appearing out of no where, when we asked for some help figuring out where it came from the manager said 'I don't know', couldn't point it out on the bill and then ridiculed us saying 'it's only £3.95 just pay it' I couldn't believe how hostile the staff were, except the friendly waitress who seemed to be the only one trying to help. Appalling service, very disappointed as I used to enjoy going there, such a shame.

Tempted by the offer at the time, so we walked in. We weren't offered a choice of where to sit. It was virtually empty! So, not impressed with that. Studied the menu, found the drinks extremely expensive. Asked about the offer, but was told we needed the app. As a result, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Might try another time.

Just Eat are giving restaurants a bad name. This driver could not be bothered to wait so said I had to call Pizza Express and reorder. Manager at Pizza express was great, and I collected my order. I will not be using Just Eat again.

AVOID if you would like friendly happy service. Greeting by the most miserable woman, who gave the impression that we had ruined her day as soon as we arrived. Seated us much to her dismay, and then added a sigh when asked for the vegan menu. Left without ordering, went next door to pinto lounge for much more accommodating and friendly service

Been here a few times over the years and it has been alright. But this last visit (24th August 2024), was dreadful. Service was utterly shocking. Delays in being seated, ordering, clearing. Tables messy for prolonged periods. Other guests fed up and complaining which brings down the atmosphere. No table check. Food was bang average this time. Drinks were POOR. £3.55 for an Appletiser, that was served to me warm. Unacceptable. Restaurant was barely even half full. A really underwhelming and unemployable experience through and through.

My wife and I ate here on the evening of Saturday 24th August. Greeting was friendly, sat down immediately and our order taken quickly. Sadly we waited nearly an hour for our food (2 x pizzas) and one of the pizzas was lukewarm and had clearly been sat on the side for a while. Both pizzas were served to us uncut and with no pizza cutter - I’d expect one or the other at a place that serves pretty much nothing but pizza! We requested a cutter and advised we weren’t happy about the wait or the temp of my pizza. To be fair to them, the manager came across and spoke to us, offered to make a new pizza or reduce the bill for us so they did make the effort to put things right. Based on this experience however we would not revisit

Very clean and welcoming. Service was great and Luna was brilliant even though it was busy. We will definitely go back again.

I was part of a group for someone's leaving do. About 11 of us in total. Despite this being the largest group she had served up until this point, Megan performed amazingly. The service was quick, the food excellent and she was always there when needed. Will definitely be coming here again, with a quieter and smaller group.

Too small portions of pizza! Seriously?!

They didn't give me menu untill I asked for, I was waiting long time for wine and starters, no point wasted time never again !

I had a salad, pizza and a non alcoholic drink, which came to £30 including tip. It’s expensive, but the food quality is good and reliable. I’m vegan and I love that they have a separate vegan menu. This location is particularly nice in side.

‘Date day’ lunch, the restaurant is bright, clean & welcoming. The food was lovely, it arrived quickly & piping hot. And the staff were just lovely, Fuchsia was friendly taking our order & Luna was brilliant, even recommended a dessert to my Husband which he really enjoyed. Thanks Pizza express Castle quay, we will be back soon.

Currently on our mini-moon in Avon Dasset and took a trip out to Banbury for some coffee, mini golf and lunch. After small deliberations, we decided to grab a table at Pizza Express for some much needed carbs. My wife and I had two starters and 2 outstanding pizzas. The service was as equally exceptional. We were gobsmacked to see our bill was “on the house” as a honeymoon gift. What a truly wholesome and generous group of people. Can’t thank you enough!

Nice spacious restaurant, wait on food wasn’t long considering it was Father’s Day and busy. We all enjoyed our food and our waitress Amelie was lovely and attentive and helped me with my dietary requirement and provided all the information I needed. Overall great experience, would go again.

This was ordered at 16.57 and delivered at 18.20 well over the 30-50 mins as specified. When it finally arrived, it was no longer hot and by the texture of the pizza it had been sat under lights for a while.I am no stranger to Pizza Express and usually pick up myself. This is the first time I have used Just eat and I will think hard before using you again.

Very good vegan pizza and dough balls with dips. We tried their new smoked eggplant, pepper, and vegan mozzarella pizza, and it was quite nice. The eggplant could do with a bit of seasoning, but overall, it's a tasty pizza.

The past 2 times I’ve been here have been slightly different from eachother. The first time was underwhelming as I ordered a chicken ceaser salad and so did my friend. The leaves on mine were quite brown but hers were fine so maybe it was a one off but the most recent time I stuck to pizza and it was amazing, very large but yummy. Staff are lovely

Great pizza with fast and efficient service. The puddings were lovely too. Location is great with close proximity to easy free parking in the evening and access to the cinema complex a stones throw away. Go get yourself some authentic Italian pizza and wash it down with one of their fine selections of drinks.

Visiting by myself for business and staying in Premier Inn opposite the restaurant. Absolutely delicious starter (Bruschetta), main course (Romana garlic prawns) and pudding (cheese cake). All made even better by the loveliest, friendly and hospital staff - thank you very much!

pizza doesn't look at all as the picture. The pizza it's cold and uncut. not everyone has a pizza cutter at home!! and I ordered garlic bread with mozzarella and there's no mozzarella at all!!

Food was delivered cold which meant the pizza was like cardboard. Chicken wings were freezing so overall a very disappointing meal with over an hour wait…

Food was really good the server Lucy was excellent very good with accommodating the children a credit to pizza Express.

Excellent service from Ameli, dealing with the foibles of how we like our tea, not wanting caramel on our dessert, how strong was the coffee. Attentive when required, not intrusive. Food was good quality. Lasagna was nuclear hot, pollo pasta could have done with another five minutes heat. Choice of house music suits our ears. Not had the bill yet but it's a dependable restaurant, convenient for pre or post cinema food. See you next time.

Had a meal here a couple weeks ago, the service was terrible as the woman with blonde hair, who I assume to be a manager , was not being respectful to her staff, raising her voice while we sat there, trying to have our meal! It totally ruined our time. And the food overall was not great, the bicester branch is much nicer. Will not be returning.

The food was cold. The drivers are driving around town delivering 19 different orders at the same time. Sht quality. Deliver one at the time and the food might not be -20 degrees when it arrives.

Really great food and service. The waitress (I think she might be the manager) called Oana is really friendly and capable. I had some dietary issues and she handled them very patiently and well. The kind of service you expect in a much more expensive restaurant.

My drink also was not in the delivery.

We ordered the food 5:15pm delivery between 19:50-1620, the food was delivered 7pm. We called the restaurant 3x!

Unfortunately the pizza was cold, and also unsliced. The garlic dip was smeared into the side of the cup. Pineapple relish missing. Very disappointing unfortunately for the price.

First time ever we've had to send something back. The pizza was slightly undercooked. No fuss all sorted within seconds Absolutely recommended the restaurant. Lucy was AWESOME

we didn’t receive the correct starter. We received halloumi bytes instead of polenta fries.. which was quite disappointing.

Rubbish value for money and I have had better budget supermarket pizzas.

A sorry amount of toppings on top. Never seen pizzas so dry and sparsely topped, look at the state of them. Dry bread in the middle of all the pizzas and pitiful amounts of cheese and tomato. Had to send the cannelloni back because it was swimming in grease, see photo. Pizza Express used to be the gold standard in mid priced pizza, what happened? The service was friendly at least, and dough balls good as ever. They've stopped doing carbonara.

I placed my order at 15:39 and was told it’d arrive within 30-45 minutes. I did not receive it till 17:15. It was also cold on its arrival. Not great to be honest

Our last two orders with Pizza Express Banbury were ordered through JustEat. Unfortunately both our orders (on separate occasions) were never delivered as the delivery drivers never collected our orders. The first time we had waited for over 2 hours before going to the restaurant in person and an hour and a half the second time. Fortunately, once at the restaurant in person the customer service provided by the managers Imran and Sam was exceptional. It is obvious that they care about the quality of service they provided and went above and beyond to rectify the situation quickly and professionally. The food was amazing as usual!! I would recommend anyone who fancies food from pizza express to go in person and experience the food and service at their restaurant. We will certainly not be ordering through a third party service again.
