Pizza Express in Dacorum

A great night out for a 3 generational family of 8. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, lovely surroundings , food to suit everyone’s needs ( including coeliac) and they made our day by bringing in our birthday cake !

We have dined in this restaurant a few times and have historically ordered takeaways pretty regularly. However on the last few occasions the standard of the takeaway has been very poor and no where near the standard you would receive in the restaurant. Pizza misshapen and smaller than usual and small, overcooked/burnt doughballs. Can only assume they rush or don’t care about takeaway orders. Very disappointing.

Awful service last night in Pizza Express. Unattentive serving staff, my husband had to go looking for someone twice during the meal to order more drinks and at the end again, to pay the bill. Every time he found the waitress around the far side of the bar looking at her phone. When it came to actually pay, we didn’t add a tip. Food was “ok” nothing to get excited about and generally felt as though there was no direction in the restaurant last night. Slow service and useless staff who looked bored. Truly dire and it feels like unless Carlo is on duty-you should expect this level. On the plus side, Carlo is the best thing about Pizza Express Berkhamsted. Maybe I should call ahead to see if he is on duty.

We had a lovely evening meal here on the recommendation of someone we met nearby. We were not disappointed, great friendly service, nice food and relaxed atmosphere.

Visited on a Sunday because nowhete else was open. Bad customer service, partially unavailable menu and they for reasons unknown locked the door between outside dining area and restaurant. Weird vibe, felt like work experience kids were running the shop floor.

Visited Pizza Express for a second time in Berkhamsted on Saturday for late lunch. For our first visit I had given it 5/5 and it’s 5/5 again for our second visit. Love this restaurant. Nice and big with nice seats both indoors and outdoors. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The manager was very helpful. This time I had the pesto pollo pasta which was excellent with nice salad. My husband had the calzone with salad and dough balls. The kids menu is great. The desserts were excellent. I love the fact they have the option of mini desserts to have with a coffee for 1 price. It was a bit expensive at £97 for 2 adults and 2 kids but still 5/5 stars. Would definitely visit again. Excellent clean toilets. Easy to park in the Berkhamsted carpark at the back.

Tried the big Pizza Express in Berkhamsted high street for the first time with my family for dinner. Great big restaurant - lots of space lots of tables - very nice. Great location - easy to park. Our waiter was Marius and he was very attentive - thank you. We all ordered 3 courses and lots of drinks. We didn’t have to wait for anything too long. The kids menu was good too. The salad was very fresh. Toilet facilities were good. No complaints. Would go back again.

We popped here at around 6pm, midweek, for a quick bite to eat. We didn't have a booking but we were able to get a table. The kids menu is good value, 3 courses for £7.95 (I think!) but I was a little disappointed with my pizza (one of the Leggera pizza) as it was quite burnt - I still ate it but it was a shame. I will also say that I do find Pizza Express pizza to be on the small side and not necessarily the best value for money. Overall the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly but it turned out to be quite an expensive meal for 2 adults and a small child.

Great location, beautiful outdoor covered area with lighting all around, really is a lovely area/atmosphere to eat. Greeting was very welcoming on arrival and no problem to move our booking outside. Pizzas were perfect, and large too. Very well cooked, great flavours. Service was very polite and prompt. Delicious deserts too. Toilets very clean. Overall, restaurant had a welcoming feel inside. Great menu range, large public car park behind this restaurant, about a 2 min walk away. We will return, for sure!

I have been a fan since I first visited a Pizza Express back in 1967. I believe it was in Bloomsbury. Over the years I have never been disappointed in any restaurants in the chain and was looking forward to trying the Berkhamsted restaurant as it looked so pretty with all the lights outside. However after my visit, I found my evaluation dropped from a usually consisitent 5 stars to a three. I found my pizza just did not live up to my expectations and I'm not sure why. Was it too much expectation on my part or have the standards dropped?

We have given this Pizza Express branch 3 goes and each time it has been a bad experience. Waiting for ages to be served and when we got our food it was luke warm and the vegan pizza was shocking!! We sent it back. The service is terrible and as another customer observed there seems to be a 'don't care' attitude. It's really sad as we used to love Pizza Express and it is our local spot. We are now going to Amersham as it's better but we don't eat at Pizza Express as much as we used to because we can get better for the same cost at other eateries in Berkhamsted. Remember, there are a lot of good restaurants in Berkhamsted and if you don't improve soon people will not come. I would hate to see that happen so please start doing something to improve the food and the service that Pizza Express used to deliver.

Went in and the waiter was very rude. Not friendly not polite. When I spoke to him he was very abrupt and spoke down to me. Spoke to the manager she was also rude. Zero customer service skills. Employer needs to review their staff members. The preparation of my food was very Unhygienic the manager was making it herself and used her hands and touched my food. I don’t need someone to touch my food!!! Cancelled my food and left. But before I left the very rude waiter threw my receipt at me. Never have I seen staff so rude and disrespectful. Please don’t visit this restaurant.
