Pizza Express in Harlow

Had a lovely meal here over the weekend. Service was great & food was spot on. Flick was our server. She was attentive & helpful. It was very busy but she made time for our table & was helpful with suggestions for food.

Very quick service. Has a separate vegan menu that you have to ask for but shows a lot of choices. Staff are so lovely. Definitely recommend the vegan padana and the bbq chicken pizza!

I recently had an amazing experience at Pizza Express, and I can't recommend it enough! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was, as always, delicious. However, what really stood out was the exceptional service we received from Tiffany. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her attention to detail and warm personality made our dining experience even more special. Thank you, Tiffany, for making our visit so memorable! I will definitely be back!

Had Erin serve my family and I and ensured we were well taken care of, was extremely polite and accommodating to us all during the whole meal, thanks to Erin we had an amazing family day out and would definitely go again for the great service and food!!! I cannot praise Erin enough for the incredible service she provided at Pizza Express today. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with the warmest smile and a genuinely welcoming attitude that immediately set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Erin was incredibly attentive, making sure every detail was perfect. She was so patient and kind, especially with my grandma and mum, ensuring they were comfortable and had everything they needed. She took the time to explain the menu options clearly, making sure any dietary preferences or needs were catered to without hesitation. Her warm, friendly nature made them feel truly looked after, and nothing was too much trouble for her. Not only was she amazing with the adults, but she was an absolute star with the kids. She engaged with them so effortlessly, making them laugh and feel special while keeping them entertained. She even remembered their names and took the time to make sure they got exactly what they wanted. It’s rare to find someone so naturally great with people of all ages, but Erin made it look effortless. The food arrived perfectly timed, and she regularly checked in to ensure everything was just right. Even when the restaurant got busier, she remained calm, collected, and just as attentive as when we first arrived. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her job and the people she serves. If every restaurant had an Erin, dining out would always be a joy! She is an absolute credit to Pizza Express, and I truly hope she gets the recognition she deserves. I come here often with my family as the food never disappoints. Our experience is always made so much better by the staff, in particular the waitress Erin. She is always so friendly and welcoming whenever we visit. She never has any problems with answering any questions regarding the menu, ingredients and drinks. We choose to come back to this restaurant because of Erin and she deserves so much appreciation for her service as she maintains this amazing customer service even when the restaurant is full! I am very excited to continue my visits here.

came in today for lunch with mum so last minute with no reservation and was greeted by a lovely waitress i believe named erin, sat with menus in seconds and had an amazing experience!! lunch served with a smile, will be coming back next weekend!!

What was a lovely experience with my mother in law and two children was completely shattered by a very rude and patronising waitress by the name of Erin. The whole situation was unnecessary. Sadly as a result of by the way Erin spoke to me, smirked at me, and the whole snarky attitude she gave out I will not be returning to this restaurant. Thank you to the lovely manager who took over the situation and apologised on Erin’s behalf. I hope the circumstance has been addressed as promised so Erin understands it is completely wrong to treat customers/people in the way she did. She clearly could use some customer service training

Come here all the time sometimes twice a week and arrived at 20:20 and was waiting awkwardly whilst one staff member was eating and no one came to the door. Then was greeted by a man who we’ve never seen there before saying the kitchen is closed. I did Mention that we’ve come later than this before and he said they are short staffed although there was the same amount as staff as normally has been. He said there’s been parties but was only two tables occupied. It’s so disappointing as loved coming here as the lady manager is amazing at what she does but today was so disappointed with the service. What the guy was saying made no sense. Also understand people need lunch/dinner breaks however stating you are short staffed and can’t sit down customers 1hr 40 minutes before restaurant closes is unacceptable. Might have been bad timing but to state the kitchen is closed but a staff member just getting their food is crazy.

We been here for dinner few days ago, we had great times, food was delicious and service was quick and friendly

Ordered from deliveroo at 19:35 on a Sunday night. Estimated time was 60-75 minutes. Order arrived at 21:10. 95 minutes. For a pizza. On a Sunday night. On top of that it was nice and cold and Pizza Express refused to accept a cancellation at 20:30 when the status was still 'Order being prepared' after almost an hour and I was unable to get any form of compensation or refund despite no longer wanting the order. Won't be ordering from this restaurant again.

We had planned to have dinner at Harlow Pizza Express, but unfortunately, upon arrival, we were informed by the staff or manager that the branch was closing due to unforeseen circumstances. When I asked for further details, I was told it was due to a lack of staff. While I understand that unexpected situations can occur, it was extremely disappointing that both dine-in and takeaway services were unavailable—especially at 5:30 PM on a Sunday, during peak hours, when the restaurant was supposed to remain open until 10 PM. Overall, the experience felt poorly managed and unprofessional, and I was quite disappointed. Unfortunately, based on this experience and given the lack of communication and inconvenience caused, I regret to say that I cannot recommend Harlow Pizza Express.

We like coming back to that particular Pizza Express. Last visit was no different. Food was good, kids got what they like and staff is very professional. They found time to entertain and talk to our kids even though they were busy.

Food started good then hair in pizza and was told by manager that wasn’t their fault. Also people on table next to us, his pasta cold also arguing its ok. Waitress great a shame about how they handle problems **** Can’t reply to the owner so edited this. Bloke next to me which had pasta cold was feeding baby after he complained, switched with wife so she could eat, then you bought it back REHEATED. If its my THIRD TIME then you lucky i gave you any more chances. RUDE when we are there but trying to be nice when it come to reviews. Will be eating else where from now on. PLEASE GO ON A CUSTOMER SERVICE COURSE YOU MIGHT LEARN SOMETHINGS

In reply to your reply I have eaten in many restaurants all over the country and I can honestly say only one other restaurant added a service charge and that was up to us to pay it or go to the bar ourselves for drinks and not pay it, I run a business myself and if a customer is spending well why on earth would you slap a extra charge on top? It's a con and feels like you have just been robbed, will not be going to pizza express with more than 4 people anymore if ever again, and if anyone else is thinking of going here with more than 4 people be prepared to dig deep to eat there. Good luck for the future pizza express. Very expensive, 15 of us went here to celebrate a family members birthday, plates and glasses are all just a little grubby and the toilets are as usual, in needed of a clean, food is ok and pizzas are really tasty, the bad bit comes when you see the price of the drinks and then hit with the bill at the end, luckily the nice people at pizza express will help get your bill up with a nice 15% service charge, it's there way of saying, thanks for coming as a nice big order, we are pleased to charge you that little bit extra to do what most other restaurants do for free, Will be hoping no othere friend or family members want to celebrate the occasion here again. Don't think I could afford again after the rip off last night.

The shift manager was very rude and disrespectful. The food was below average and delivered very late. They were only one person to serve and cook.

I had an amazing Thursday night dinner at Pizza Express in Harlow, even though there was only one member of staff working. She was incredible—welcoming customers, taking orders, serving food, and managing everything on her own while still being friendly and professional. I honestly don’t know how she did it all, but she handled it so well. The food was absolutely delicious. My pizza was cooked perfectly, with a crispy base and fresh toppings, and the dough balls were warm and fluffy. Even with just her running the entire restaurant, my food arrived quickly, and she still took the time to check if everything was okay. The atmosphere was great—relaxed and comfortable—and the restaurant was clean and well-organized. But honestly, it’s not fair that one person was left to do everything alone. She did an amazing job, but no one should have to handle an entire restaurant by themselves. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and will definitely be coming back. Huge respect to her for making the evening so enjoyable, even under pressure, but I really hope the restaurant provides more support for their staff in the future.

Shocking service. Watching paint dry is quicker than the service the waitresses gave. They kept spending time standing around in the back chatting, very poor customer service. Had to keep asking for stuff several times. Female manager just sat on laptop and was so rude when greeting customers in. Never going again.

Went to pizza express Harlow with my family for a birthday, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This was especially important as my family has allergies. The food was hot and tasty and came within a reasonable time. Would return soon

The last 3 or 4 times I’ve been here, the service has been the worst I’ve ever had. The staff genuinely do seem like nice, friendly people, but they’re so so awful at being a waitress/waiters, it takes about an hour to get the bill. Twice they’ve sent my order out wrong. Asking for drinks/ condiments and not getting them. Like I said they do seem like nice people but their service is always awful. Would not recommend

Had a great family lunch today. We were greeted by a very friendly manager. Even though we were late for our booking, he still managed to accommodate is. Our server, Erin, was friendly, attentive and provided great service. The food was hot and delicious, and we had a great experience. Highly recommended.

Guido was really friendly and attentive and made my daughter and I feel really welcome and relaxed. The restaurant was short staffed but Guido was more than capable and remained pleasant and helped entertain a couple of children at two different tables too. I would say he is a credit to Pizza Express, nothing was too much trouble! He looked after us well and oh yes, the food was really delicious too! The truffle dough balls were amazing! I had to wait an hour and 25 minutes for my order, and despite repeatedly trying to call, I couldn’t get through to anyone. Pizza Express responded to my review, attempting to shift the blame onto the delivery company—but that’s simply not true. The delivery driver accepted the order quickly, and I could see they were waiting outside the restaurant. The real issue lies with Pizza Express. I’d like to know who they plan to blame for their failure to answer the phone—surely not the delivery company again? This experience was incredibly disappointing.

I cannot comment on the food as we didn't get any. We walked into this empty restaurant around 1.00pm lunchtime. Sat down and was asked if we had booked, we hadn't. All other restaurants along this parade of shops were full so Pizza Express it was. Only to be told they not taking walk ins until 4.30 pm. However as I explain to the member of staff that the restaurant was empty apart from one lady with her child on a table surely they could fit us in. But no because we had no booking and they were not taking walk ins. We were absolutely gobsmacked and went to Pizza Hut instead where they were busy and managed to fit us in. All I can say is that Pizza express must make good profits on empty tables. We won't bother with this place again.

Been a few times in the past and had half decent experiences but the last 2 visits have been awful. Service is terrible and has gone seriously down hill. Clearly very short staffed and on many occasions on both visits I had to get up to find someone to order or chase things up. Orders messed up, forgotten drinks and no one around. Staff literally by the kitchen/bar area all the time and don’t regularly go around the tables to make sure everyone has been taken care of. Tonight loads of tables weren’t cleared and the whole restaurent looked a mess. Many customers seemed unhappy, constantly trying to chase things up. Would avoid this pizza express, better to stick to the Epping pizza express as always had great experience there for food and service. Had every intention to speak to the manager but by the end of it, couldn’t be bothered to wait for them to come around and just paid on the app and left.

Unfortunately a shocking experience from start to finish. Service incredibly slow, it took nearly 40 minutes just to bring our dough ball starters out of which one portion was burnt and had to be returned. The main courses, especially the pizzas represent appalling value for money. £18 for pizza of this quality is just unacceptable and the size of the kids portions on the piccolo menu are minuscule. £80 total bill for a celebratory meal was a complete waste of money.

Food was great as usual, service however was on another level, a very very low level, it is a shame I can’t rate as zero stars, one is one too many. I may as well have been invisible, the waitress was very happy chatting to staff in the kitchen and cleaning tables but not once did she look in my direction to see if I wanted another drink…20 minutes it took and that is after taking payment from a table nearby. Wholeheartedly would avoid this particular site of Pizza Express until further notice…awful service, verging on rude.

Unfortunately the service was very slow. After being shown to a table It was 40 minutes before our oder was taken and I had to ask for a drink.

Really disappointed, young waitress was lovely, £18 fir a pasta dish with rubbery prawns and no taste to sauce, manageress made us wait 10 minutes before even asking if we wanted a drink never mind food, then started clearing tables instead of serving us, with only 6 people in the restaurant , will not be returning

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Pizza Express restaurant. I booked a table for three people at 7 PM on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn’t busy, with only about 18 customers seated and most of the tables empty. We were seated, and after about five minutes, a friendly waitress took our drink and food orders. Two of our starters arrived, but the third one didn’t. We waited patiently, but after a long delay, the waitress had to remind the kitchen about the missing starter. Once we finished the starters (which were left uncleared on the table), my pizza was delivered by a different waitress, the other two mains were nowhere in sight. All front of house staff were congregating around the kitchen service hatch, so we waited again, hoping to catch their attention. After another long wait, we finally got the waitress’s attention to let her know that we were still waiting for the other mains. By this time, my pizza had been sitting for 6-7 minutes and was cold. A male member of staff then approached our table and asked what we were waiting for. We explained that we were still missing two main courses. At that point, as my pizza was stone cold, I asked him to take it away and cancel it from the bill, along with the side I had ordered. Since it was clear the other mains hadn’t even been cooked yet, we decided to cancel everything and just asked for the bill for drinks and starters. We made the man aware that our complaint was not towards him or the waitress and that there was obviously a serious problem in the kitchen. This is when he told us the head chef was on holiday and they had another chef to cover him. We won’t be returning to Pizza Express in Harlow again.

Came 7th Aug to Pizza Express - WATER GARDENS food was great, my daughter loved the menu. @PizzaExpress How will it ever be okay to have only 2 kitchen staff in the summer holidays, it delays orders and put everyone under pressure, the service team deserve a good medal for trying their best when clearly under staffed.

Wouldn't let me eat, despite half empty as short staffed

Waited over an hour for mine and my children's food. Wasn’t checked on to see if everything was ok food wise. The worst service I’ve ever witnessed. I eventually asked for it to be boxed up as I just wanted to leave. When we looked at our order it was pretty much slap dash. I will not be eating here again.

To “General Manager” worst service of my life, an hour of waiting for my order, it never came, they forgot to give my order to the chef, I had to go to another place for lunch, slow service, Bad management! Never go back! the waiter in black is unhelpful and yes the general manager check the CCTV and you will see poor and slow service concerning me
