Food is nice, service was lacking, cost is extortionate.

Just received my delivery and it'll be the last time I order from there. I ordered Meal for 1 Bundle, a basic margherita and doughballs. I received a cold pizza base, smothered in thick tomato sauce with a tiny sprinkling of cheese. Doughballs were cold as well, very disappointed

You know what... Even after all these years... Pizza Express in Preston is still providing the best quality Pizza's and I've never had a bad experience there. I put this down to the fact that Lisa the Manager has been there since I moved to Preston in 1998 and runs the place brilliantly. Always welcoming and fun, great service and Lisa's staff are always attentive - plus the foods great! Burnt Ends Pizza!!! I mean seriously! DELICIOUS!!! What's not to love! Plus the restaurants in a really lovely part of Preston which enhances the overall experience. LOVE IT!

Superb service and all staff lovely, had a starter and a pizza that was the size of a small planet but was amazing and very tasty 👌 Not overly sure about their own IPA lager but maybe a need a few more to come to a conclusion on this one 🤔

Waitress with blonde hair and glasses needs some training on being welcoming and not cold, didn't seem she could be bothered to even be there, luckily the one after her was lovely other than that food and service was great

The gluten free pizza has hardly any cheese on and is burnt and the other pizza is cold . Very disappointed

Went in for lunch with my husband. We had a dough balls for the first time and enjoyed them. Then had pizzas which again were very tasty. The server Ella was so lovely. We have a pizza express app on our phone but had not used it before so was not really sure how to use it but Ella showed us how it worked explaining very clearly how to use it. Many thanks Ella. We highly recommend this branch and the staff.

Found the prices to be extreme although I did enjoy my pizza. My husband however had the lasagne which looked like a microwave meal which was appalling bearing in mind it was just under £17. Didn't even come with any garnish. Place lacks atmosphere....more like a canteen feel. Sorry but won't be going here again.

Not been for a while, so thought I tried the new Italiano.It was absolutely incredible.

We had Calamari as usual, the coating was undercooked on both portions, dipping it into the sauce, it was dropping off. We have never had this happen before. We had different pizzas, but both as thin and dry as a cracker. What has happened Pizza Express? We won't be going again. You've gone downhill 😔

Lovely place for some pizza! Have been here a couple of times and it’s always super quiet. Staff are friendly and service is fast. Me and my partner are obsessed with the dough balls doppio, they’re so so good, we love the pesto and garlic sauce that comes with them. I usually get the soho 65’ pizza (without olives) and my partner gets the double American. For a chain pizza place, I really recommend.

Very disappointed my partner and I ordered dough balls. The only difference was mine were Dairy free and Gluten free this meant I was exceedingly disappointed when I received 5 dough balls and my partner got 8. The size of the 2 pizzas was also upsetting! My partners pizza was at least 50% bigger than mine. Not on PIZZA EXPRESS!! Not on PIZZA EXPRESS!!!

Booked a table for 6:30pm there was only one other table taken so obviously no atmosphere. The service was very poor at one point there was only the chef about. Maybe this is why there are no customers !

It's been 6 years since we have been to Pizza Express. We were regulars before the whole lockdown happened. After talking about it we decided to head up as we were big fans pre lockdown. Overall? It was "ok" We usually always had the leggera Padana so chose to re-live past visits and ordered these. Well, the portions have shrunk a fair bit, they are way more frugal with the toppings and the salad used to be mixed salad, it is now just leaves and sauce. Sadly our last visit I think, it's not worth the price increase for a reduced product.

I wanted a garlic bred with cheese not a biscuit / cheese tosty what is this for £7 not happy feel ripped off not even looked at pizza yet £7 a slice of bread with cheese unbelievable hope pizza is good

Driver delivered the wrong order and left our food at the restaurant (one pizza was delivered when we ordered four) Then just eat refused to rectify this mistake by redelivering the correct food as apparently no driver was available. I will never be using just eat again. Very disappointed with the disgusting customer service it ruined our whole evening.

All the food was cold which was surprising as we are staying less than 5 minutes walk from this restaurant. Pizzas were subpar, certainly nowhere near the quality of eating in at a Pizza Express, the vegan cheese was practically non-existent on both pizzas, the aubergine dish leaked in transit and looked like someone else’s leftovers had been put into a shoddy takeout box. Thankfully dough balls were on point as was the vegan garlic butter. Won’t be ordering from Pizza Express again after this.

Hardly any cheese on pizza and halumi bites are awful

We love this Pizza Express (Preston). The staff and manager are super friendly and always ensure we are looked after. Visited tonight, lovely atmosphere with candlelight, music and Christmas parties. Service and food fantastic, we waited for nothing as staff always on hand. Would highly recommend as this branch never lets us down. Thank you

Food cold - requested refund 6 fay's ago and had nothing

When we ordered at about 2000, our delivery time wa stated as 2035-2050, which seemed like a long wait but, ok. At 2050 the delivery status still said driver allocated. We phoned the restaurant and our food was waiting. We waited another 30-35 minutes knowing our food was now cold wondering what to do. We phoned the restaurant, and it was only then that the driver turned up. It then took approx 15 mins for the delivery to make the 6 min WALK to our apartment. I have no complaint with the food (although it was stone cold on arrival). That was not the restaurant’s fault. I am, however, dismayed that there was no way to communicate with Just Eat to find out what was going on with our order, and how it is acceptable to let food get cold, and charge money for its delivery. I’d like a full refund on our order please.

I live 2 minutes away so don’t really get how this has happened there was no option to collect else I would have done that. Food arrived cold the driver even said sorry it’s really cold apparently is been sat there for 45 minutes and I’ve just collected it

Called in mid afternoon on a Saturday, the place was fairly quiet. Order was promptly taken, and pizza arrived shortly after. We liked the options to customise our pizza, as some in our party prefer vegetarian /plant based. Pizza was really good, thin and crispy base. Will definitely eat here again.

I got the wrong pizza and dough balls instead on garlic bread

Woeful portion size, soggy base and little meat topping. Desert was squashed and looked sad for itself. Not much flavour, disappointing

The food was delicious. The service we got was excellent. Hannah and Joanna were very good and helpful. They explained the menu . Nothing was too much trouble. Very enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back .

Went for my daughter’s 12th Birthday as a family of 4. We visit Pizza Express a lot including this one before but this time the food quality was the best ever. It was all lovely and fresh, piping hot and tasted awesome. I had the Calabrese as I always do, also the new Nduja Dough Balls were great. Our waitress was lovely (didn’t catch her name tho) Overall a great family meal had thanks

A swift delivery but extremely underwhelming pizza. The sauce had no flavour at all. My partner’s GF pizza was shocking. We won’t be trying here again. Local pizza houses are far better.

Had 2 add ons: onion and pepperoni . Only got peperoni and they didn't put the olive's that was already in the menu. Also was cold when arrived!

We got told our order was to arrive between 7.05-7.25 then it got changed to 7.50-8.10. It arrived at 8.10 but was absolutely freezing so not impressed.

Hannah who served us was such a delight, she was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make us comfortable using the app, going through the new items on the menu and bringing out the cake for our friend on such a lovely decorated slate. It makes the dining experience much more enjoyable when the waiter serving you is as helpful as Hannah was. Highly recommend. For my starter I only received two dough balls, which was disappointing considering the price I paid.

We were in the area and decided to stop here for something to eat. The place was very quiet maybe one or two tables with people on. When we walked in all the staff were standing together and gave us a weird look and one of them kept staring at us in an unfriendly manner. We were shown to a table. We ordered drinks and food which I had the 'duo romana' which I chose 'padana' for one half and the other half 'sloppy giuseppe'. The pizza took a little longer to arrive than you would expect from an empty place. The pizza wasn't overly the best and not to the standard for this chain and had from other branch's. The pizza was thinner than a crepe and soggy so you couldn't pick it up. The other food we had was also very poor and not to standard. The staff were relatively friendly but their attitude could have been better. Overall the food isn't up to the chains standard. The place seemed clean, location is good. There might be better places to eat nearby

Was really satisfied with the delivery

We as usual ordered Romano pizzas, kid 3course meal, pint of perroni and apple juice. We found out their Romano pizza dough were super thin and unlikely baked baked like other store. It was soft bottom but a lot ingredients filling. It lost the essence of pizza because you hardly had a base to eat but just like a soft pancake. Went on a Friday. Very busy and so quite loud. Kids loved the pizza, but overpriced for what it is. Lasagne was tasty.

Food was very cold, and some of the pasta was hard like it hadn't been cooked for long. Ended up leaving half of it in ghe end. The doughballs were good however.

That was the worst pizza a ever ordered. Came all rolled up in the box, i regret that i didnt done a pic of that. Base was soo tin like paper you could see through it, had absolutely no taste.The other pizza on half on it had only sos nothing else and for that we payed nearly £30

I'm glad we've been so we now know not to go again. Apart from a very helpful waitress the whole culinary experience was very poor in quality, and in, over pricing of mass produced mediocre food. We were looking forward to taking our grandchildren here despite the negative reviews. I will take more notice next time.

Very quiet so lacked atmosphere. Food was as expected and we were offered pizza boxes to take away our leftovers. Really disappointed that we paid for two dips that we’d barely touched but the waitress just took them away and didn’t offer to put them into takeaway dishes for us. I think this should be something they offer

The food was really good. We originally ordered and was given an estimated delivery time, they kept changing the time until it finally arrived 25 minutes after the original time! It technically wasn’t late because the estimated time changed but it was much later then expected

Typical Pizza Express restaurant. Fast & efficient service, nice food, but very noisy. The noise issue has been encountered at other restaurants in the chain, makes the visit a little frustrating.

The best Pizza Express I've visited. Have been to many different branches and this is the only one where I've never been let down. Good always cooked perfectly and the staff friendly.

Me, my sister , my stepmum and my dad decided it would be nice to go out for a meal , and pizza express is always a good option to choose as their food is amazing! The dough balls especially stood out , they tasted great. Also , the service was very quick so -unlike other restaurants- your not waiting hours when your starving 😂

Both pizzas were deeply disappointing, scarce toppings (literally one piece of bacon on mine, and one tomato on my wife's), sporadic cheese, wet undercooked dough - really poor quality. The only thing that redeemed the meal a little bit was the doughballs.

Making use of the offer of £8.95 for a classic pizza and the offer from a previous visit of free doughballs. Had the vegan Gardiera and 2 glasses of vegan wine, followed by the vegan ginger cake. I couldn't have eaten any more. Friendly staff, okay for dining alone, nice atmosphere.

Lovely people helped me when I nearly passed out ( thanks Lisa ) and then provided me with scrumptious Pizza and chicken wings( take away ) that stayed lovely and hot for picnic on park ! Def will go again x Give it a try

My children really love pizza express, but I must say it was clearly noticeable that the size of everything was way less than it used to be, the Dough balls were very small and pizza super thin. So overall not good value for money 💰😞.

Lovely staff and a good meal with the kids

You generally know Pizza Express is going to be good when it’s in an old building. This one, in Preston, was no exception. Located down a side street off the main road, just past Sainsbury, this is a nice, bright branch. First customer of the day, always good. Lady serving was friendly and quick. Good table. Right by the window, not on a path. The usual food; the classic doughballs and a Romana funghi di bosco. All well cooked; good amount of butter with the doughballs. You like to see it and here I did. Toilets are in the Gods. A bit of a trek. Good exercise though… Would definitely come to this one again. Well done.
