Lost Bar & Pizzeria in Preston

Cocktails was great, pizzas were ok. Overall atmosphere was good but when me and my friends walked in we was approached by an older guy behind the bar looking very unprofessional in a hat and dirty tshirt. The young lady stood next to him was very pleasant and welcoming but he insisted on talking to us. As a group of women one of my friends turned round to him and asked him to stop talking to us to which he walked out the front door. I’m sure he works there unsure to what his position is though. Could possibly be the owner the way he was walking round and talking . Will go back but hopefully not greeted by the man.

We found Lost Bar thanks to a friend and one of their monthly talks. It is a lovely space, even on a wet March night when it felt cosy. The pizzas were crisp and tasty and the Romanian red was a good choice.

Pizzas were very good. Drinks were OK. Pleasant atmosphere in the Dickens Room. Service was good with pizzas delivered in good time. Forgot our table water which wasn't great. It's worth reading the pizza menu carefully as only three come with a tomato base with the others being cheese only. Pizza bases are excellent but quite hard to cut.

Great cocktail and lovely pizzas. The outside courtyard is a wonderful place to sit on a sunny day.

I had an undrinkable Mojito for nearly £10. I would recommend sticking with unmixed drinks from the bottle or from the tap because the staff appear to be untrained.

Had my family hen party here last night and was absolutely blown away by the service we received. The Lost Bar team were amazing and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had an amazing time. There were 20 of us in the conservatory area and we had the wine and charcuterie board deal. A great selection of wine was all set up ready for our arrival. The food was served as soon as we asked and they accommodated a gluten free vegetarian option. A complementary shot was given to the Bride to be and a glass of wine knocked off the table was quickly replaced free of charge. I honestly wouldn’t hesitate booking another event there and can’t thank the team enough for hosting such a brilliant night.

Nice place but absolutely woeful pizza. When we asked why ours had absolutely no tomato sauce, the waitress pointed out the four half sliced plum tomatoes in each corner of the pizza. It wasn’t even a good garlic bread. If you made this pizza in Naples you’d be deported. As for the size of it, £11 for a 9” pizza? Does not compare well to Rudy’s or Franco Manca.

I've been a couple of times now and the pizza is really good, authentic stone baked pizza, with a good amount of toppings and oils on the tables for you to add to your crusts. The pricing is good for a city centre pizzeria and drinks aren't expensive either. It's good to have a couple of vegan options too, although I wish the garlic bread was also available vegan without cheese. The only slight annoyance was yesterday evening we felt a bit rushed by one member of staff trying to take plates while we were still eating and cleaning the table after had just ordered more drinks. It felt like we were being pushed off the table which was why we didn't then stay for another drink again.

Six of us went for a girls meal out. The drinks were very good. The Pizzas were awful. They came out a few at a time, were burnt and very difficult to cut or slice into. We'd all not go back.

We heard good reviews and decided to try this place. It is tucked away but glad we came. Lovely place. Friendly and attentive staff and the food delicious.

An excellent cosy bar on Market Street West offering a well stocked bar area with craft beers, wines, spirits including signature cocktails, and hot drinks. There's an intimate function room/pizzeria to the left of the bar for those get togethers and celebrations. Through the bar is the solarium, a windowed seating area with ambient lighting looking out to the seated courtyard, great in Summer but equally as good in all weathers as it's partially covered. The pizzeria serves delicious hand crafted pizzas with various and unusual toppings. So if you just fancy a drink after work, a night out and/or a meal this is the place to go... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Would but minus one star if possible. After being stood at the bar for 15 mins and being fully ignored by the girl with the long brown hair, her lovely colleague skipped completely past us in the queue and proceeded to speak to those behind us and easily turned away £300 of business between the lot of us. Well done guys! Keep up the great work and you’ll follow all the other businesses that last no longer than 12 months.

Pizza was very very tough and absolutely tiny for the price, the size of a large hand. And paid an excess amount for what we got ? The garlic bread was so tough it had to be binned, I’d recommend making the sizes larger and the dough less tough

Came for lunch today and the pizza was delicious and the Lager I had was lovely both reasonably priced

Busy place with indoor and outdoor seating including booths with heaters and roofs. Lively vibe and often a DJ outside. Relaxed atmosphere. Food seemed popular but we didn't eat. Rosé didn't have much flavour which was a downside but good place for a sunny afternoon in Preston.

I took 2 pizzas to bring home and they were dry, small and expensive (26 pounds). One of the worst pizza I have ever had. Never again, so so disappointed as I used to like the pizza here. It’s a shame, clearly they changed for the worst

My favourite pizza in Preston, really chilled atmosphere, lovely staff and the nicest looking beer garden I know of.

Despite the rain we were fine and sat in their wonderful glass extension. Really enjoyed our first meal here, service was great. Will definitely be back to enjoy this wonderful hidden gem 🍕🍷. Thank you.

Really enjoyed our pizza, garlic bread and drinks. The pizza was fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed in a very nice bar area - would recommend. Need to try the cocktails next time!

We visited Lost as a family on Saturday night after our daughter had just finished a 4 night stint in the musical Matilda at Preston Playhouse. We wanted to have some celebration drinks so asked the bar staff if we could order two mocktails for our children (aged 11 & 8). The manager went out of her way to make us feel so welcome and all the staff were so friendly. The staff even gave our children some free chocolate brownie to say well done! Well worth a visit.

This place is a hidden gem. Great pizza in a lovely atmosphere. I suspect it will be jumping as the weather gets warmer and the courtyard is nicer to sit in but plenty of indoor space in the meantime. Check out the small brewery next door as well afterwards.

Beers were in very poor condition when we visited , 2 were like vinegar. Barman seemed clueless though polite Pizzas excellent usually but today just went for a drink

Me and a friend came here for Valentine’s Day and everything was perfect, the pizzas were really tasty, the biscoff cheese cake was unreal and their espresso martinis are one of the best I’ve had. The staff are always really friendly and attentive, I would definitely recommend

For the pizza rating this is 5* but as like a lot of other reviews the service really does need a tune up promptly. There is a disinterest/disconnect amongst the staff where the feeling is palpable when your in there for longer than 10 minutes. Communication seems to be an issue but the one factor that really bothered me was the barman who was very clearly hiccuping through his night and I distinctly saw him open a can of mixer for a drink he was making with his mouth…. I genuinely wish I would have pulled him at the time but my partner would have had me pulled for making the evening awkward… hope he sees this review… because there’s one thing we all know about after living through a pandemic and that’s hygiene matters….

the pizzas vary from 10.50-14.50 pounds however i have tasted 3 pizzas and my sister has tasted 1 other pizza in my opinion and my sisters the only good pizza is the salame but it get boring science thats the only thing i order i think if they had more options of pizzas i would rate it higher

This pains me to write because the pizza really is excellent but the overall experience was a poor one due to the service. Most of the issues were very minor and could be easily overlooked. No cutlery until after the food arrived; Drinks and food arriving one person at a time; Very minor, and actually the relaxed atmosphere would've been a positive. The problem was that they have a series of "241" cocktails which looked great. We ordered a couple but oddly they brought 2 of one of the cocktails. We said that we hadn't ordered 3 drinks and they took the extra one away. Later, when paying, we were initially given a bill without these cocktails listed at all, undercharging us. I said everything we'd had and paid without being offered the updated bill. Only after paying did I realise how much we'd been charged - £63 when we were expecting ~£44. It turned out that "241" means that you must get 2 of the same cocktail and we were being charged twice. Nobody told us this when we ordered them. The rest of the expanded cost was due to the server adding a service charge without asking if I wanted to pay that, or offering me the opportunity to accept/decline or add a tip myself. As I said, the pizza is excellent. They used wholewheat flour I think, which was a little bit of an odd choice but it wasn't unwelcome. However, after a nice meal we left feeling like an injustice was done and never wanting to go back again. Gutted :(

Tucked away of the main Street, which is lovely. Menu choice is restricted, but what they do do, they do well. Pizzas tasty and the honey on the salami pizza was a revelation. Not a massive restaurant, cozy and intimate

Never seen service like it, its like they didn't want us there. They were a bit rude at the bar but at first we just shrugged it off. Then they tried collecting plates whilst we were still eating literally piled a stack of plates up on top of food I was still trying to eat,didn't even apologise. It was wild we couldn't even work out how to react it wasn't even late about half 7 when we left.

Excellent quiet independent cafe/bar and shop. The quality of the coffee and food is very good. Coffee properly ground fresh with a barista that knows what they're doing The decor is really good with really good outdoor seating, very contemporary and quietly hidden away off Friargate The boutique shop is very interesting selling boutique crafts and goods Update: As of December 2022 "Once Was Lost" no longer exists replaced by a pizzeria. Shop seems to have gone too. Popped in today (17th) place was dead. I was looking forward to a Mexican wrap too and coffee and cake. But nothing. Sadly won't be going here again

Lovely place but advertised as weaver's cottage - as an historian i can tell you that it was not a weaver's cottage, as used in the Domestic System, but a worker's cottage - pedantic i know but it is a great place to visit.

Lovely bar tucked away on Market St West, we went to a private function and had a great night, it also has a wonderful outdoor area we will definitely return.

Fantastic place for parties and gatherings. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and very attentive, prices are reasonable.. I would definitely recommend for small or large parties.. pizzas were amazing from a Stone baked pizza oven, all made with fresh ingredients.. lovely outdoor space, beautifully decorated..

Just been tonight and was served by a lovely lady! I didn't catch her name but she had auburn hair with a streak of blonde, she was very attentive, polite and it was a great atmosphere! 10/10 will be returning, it's such a hidden gem.

Fantastic place, drink selection and customer service... I was catching a train and was searching for places that opened early for a quick drink... Popped in and found out was closed but young girl served me and my mum anyways 😊 and it has an amazing selection of craft beer and good decor and vibes and friendly people.. Will return with my friends as right up my street

First of. What a hidden gem. Should be kept a secret. Attached to The Plau via a route worthy of Indiania Jones you find yourself in an area that's like being away from everywhere. Chilled booth seating with heaters Live DJ and music later. Was chill out style while we were there. Food looked good . Beer in The Plau very good . Lots of selection. See Moorbrook Pub for great beers too. There a roof top restaurant too. Where they have found all this space is very much magic. Plus they have a well on the basement that once distilled Gin I would say go visit bit then its not so secret 😜

Today was the first time I visited this place. The coffee was good and doughnut was amazing. The background music was brilliant to be honest and the staff were friendly🙂 The prices are also reasonable and one good thing about this place is that you can enjoy shopping when waiting for your order. Highly recommended, no matter how the weather is 😊

Once Was Lost, but now am found. Amazing Place. Tried the eggs Benedict with an espresso macchiato. Super ambiance, staff really good especially Millie.

I hav no words reallyi explain my adornment for this unique and quirky setup. I adore the outdoor apres courtyard and then love being inside by the beautiful bar. When I visit, it's rather coffee or a Negroni, particularly a Grapefruit Negroni, they serve the best in Preston from the head bar team members.

First time here. Never knew it existed. Lovely sunny day. Barmaid was lovely. Will come here again.

Absolute gem of a place. Small and unassuming doorway leads to classy stone floored cafe with a homely feel. Carry on through and it opens out into a stunning courtyard which I imagine is great when it’s sunny. We ate brunch and It was delicious. Staff were very friendly and professional. They had a good selection of beers wine and spirits. We will be coming back here many more times as the lunch and dinner menu looked very well thought out. I highly recommend this place.

An outside place to hang out with mates. Serves alcohol and has cool loud music playing, full of retro lights and all bricked walls. Heaters avaliable too. Really cool

A very cool place in the heart of Preston

Nice surroundings and chilled out vibe. Sadly let down by the fact you have to order through an app. This is not normally a problem for me but the app refused to accept payment and just kept refreshing. So we gave up and left.

Awful. Stopped serving food halfway between our order so we had two people with food and four people without food. Dreadful.

Great look and feel to the beer courtyard. Craft beers but no real ales. Order and pay by Round app on phone though a waiter also came to us. Enjoyed the big city experience in the smaller city of Preston. Good luck to all at the Market Street Social.

The place looks the part so I guess that deserves a star however the staff member (shaved head) was so rude to us, initially he said "your better off ordering on the app" no "hi, welcome guys" anyway, we arrived in 3 couples, tried to get the app to work but it didn't. I asked my husband to go and find someone and ask them if we can order, anyway he came back rather upset, he'd walked into the back (unintentially...it was our 1st time at the establishment) and the staff member (shaved head...once again) shouted "get out...we have no insurance for you to be here" ....well I'm sorry mr shaved head man, it was a mistake and it wasn't done to upset you! Anyway we left as we just felt we weren't wanted, shame because looked so beautiful New staff needed...some with communication skills and a more polite manner
