Pizza Express in Richmond upon Thames

We were squeezed in despite it being packed just before an international game at the Twickenham rugby stadium. Reasonably priced compared to some others nearby.

Absolutely amazing lunch here! James was absolutely attentive and a kind waiter to our table. So kind and helpful! Delicious and affordable food with lovely service !

Best pizza and pasta in town and the chocolate fudge cake to die for wow

We are regulars in this place. Today my American Hot Romana pizza came very soggy not cooked properly. No one asked if we enjoyed food so at the end i told them about it (only 1 piece eaten) and although the waiter asked the manager she denied to offer anything. Paid full bill and left. I guess the policy here is you have to eat what you are served, pay and leave. You wont be seeing us for long time. Thanks

This Pizza Express is always consistent with good food and value, we have been coming here for many years. Our favourite waiter is Dominic who has also been working there for years and is always friendly and accommodating to us and our toddler.

Placed the order around 7:30pm, within 5 minutes of being accepted, the order was delayed until 9pm…the poor driver then appeared to be waiting at the restaurant for 20 to 30mins. When the food finally arrived it was all stone cold. It’s as if the food was cooked and then left for an hour to go cold before being given to the courier.

Brilliant service at Twickenham Waitress Gosia was excellent Served us very well as had a big party Also helped and gave us tips and advice on the pizza express app. Would definitely come again Back at our fav place. I've been to Italy once but no need to ever go again when I could go to Pizza Express in Twickenham. The nduja calzone is the best pizza I've ever had (aside from the other Twickenham establishment, Parma Pizza). If I was sentenced to death row I'd have the nduja calzone for starts, mains and deserts plus a liquid version as my drink. Whatever the chefs are cooking up I'm eating as it has been excellent every time I've had it. Pizza express may as well bin off the rest of the menu as I know what I'm getting there for the rest of my life. Twickenham Pizza Express chefs and wait staff, you've rocked my world.

Had such a lovely experience once we got past the older man who 'greeted' us at the door. In fact he didn't greet us he just grunted at us and told us who our server would be and showed us where our table was. Not friendly at all and as a front of house person I suggest needs more training or put behind the scenes as he's certainly not customer friendly. I gave 4* here for the atmosphere because of this rude man. Our server James on the other hand was amazing. Couldn't do enough to make our visit pleasant. He was so friendly and happy to help. He asked about allergies and brought us the folder with all the menu information in it so we could check what we were ordering would be safe. He displayed our birthday cake beautifully for one of our family and brought it out with the usual happy birthday. James is an asset to Pizza Express. Food was lovely. We enjoyed ourselves a lot. The only let down was being met at the door by a not so pleasant man who just wanted to get us in the door and couldn't care less after that.

Ignore all the one star Karen numpties on this page. If you click on The pages they've left one star reviews of everybody. YAWN. 🥱 I had to leave a good review on this page after seeing some of the negative ones because quite frankly this is one of the best pizza expresses I've been in - Both this branch and the Richmond ranch have turned my opinion of this chain around. I now go quite regularly having avoided this chain for almost a decade. Pizza express is reliable Great Pizza So no comments there. It's brilliant as always. Especially because the supposedly amazing independent restaurant around the corner (See one of My previous reviews) put a pizza down in front of me. That was absolutely awful. It made me run back to Pizza express with open arms. No longer will I choose independent over chain after my experience at the independent restaurant down the road. Chains are chains because they are good at what they do, It's a shame we can all get so snobby about it due to choice because often they are the best. I am not really a foodie so my reviews are usually based on service and atmosphere. The service here is consistently brilliant. I see the same stuff every time I go in and they are consistently friendly, attentive, and efficient. The larger Then life guy that usually clocks off around 6:30 p.m. Is so attentive and is sweet to my little girl my toddler whenever we come in. Yesterday I was in there on my own doing some writing and I sent my margarita back because it didn't have enough salt and he had no problem giving me another one without judgement. I find there's an issue in the UK being used to travelling in America. If you Send anything back often. Waiters in this country make you feel like you are a bad person just for even asking, Something that is just par for the course in the states, But here in this Pizza express nothing is too much trouble. Even if they think that it is, they don't let it show with their faces, which is the main thing. The waitress that usually works on into the evening is so funky and friendly, One of the other waitresses accommodating my request to turn off the zealous air conditioning even though I think she struggled with it (I said please turn it back on if you are struggling but she was Very clearly wanting to please the customer, I felt very bad but I do appreciate this sentiment). I have a loud toddler, And if you come in at 5:00 or 6:00 p.m, The twickenham branch is basically Like a nursery, But all the staff are just so friendly to all of the kids. They give out crayons, They don't roll their eyes when toddlers are making lots of noise or trying to climb on seats etc. And when your toddler decides to eat nothing just because they are a toddler and they can do, The staff just take it in their stride and don't take offence that we think the food is bad. They really are great with children in here. Really nice pornstar martinis in here. Never any complaints about the food reliably good. I also really like the atmosphere of this branch. It's chilled but A luxurious feel as well. Thank you to the staff of Richmond and Twickenham branches for turning around my opinion of this chain... Apologies for any obvious grammatical errors or typos from my voice to text software, am I being too lazy to correct them. Only way I can get anything done as a busy toddler mum....

We had been to the rugby and finished the day off with a meal . There is a "no table booking on match days " But the staff were friendly and the food was great We will be returning next year. This was our 4th visit and its been a fantastic experience every time

My daughter and I made an impromptu visit to this restaurant, having not visited a Pizza Express for some time we were delighted to find our favourites still on the menu and tasting delicious. I ordered 2 pizzas from pizza express via Uber eat. The pizza was uneatable I have never seen a pizza base so bad. The dough balls were burned. The cheese garlic bread was ok. Pizza express used to be the best. Sad sad sad. Uber eat did nothing and asked me to contact pizza express. The phone rang with no answer. Mmmm I can only leave a nasty review now. Thanks.

I ordered a take away from Uber eat. 2 pizza. 1 dough balls and one cheese garlic bread. The 2 pizza base was bad. It had a hole. It was not cooked. Really did not look or taste right. I contacted Uber eat with photos. Nothing happens they asked me to contact pizza express. My kids were disappointed and did not eat it. I hat happened to pizza express it used to be the best pizza in town. Sad sad. I sent the photos to Uber eat.

I recently visited Pizza Express and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour for our food, which was quite frustrating. However, I must commend the staff for their professionalism and genuine apologies. They were clearly understaffed, yet they managed to handle the situation with grace and courtesy. To make up for the delay, they offered us a generous 30% discount, which was appreciated. Despite the wait, the food was delicious as always, maintaining the high quality Pizza Express is known for. Given the circumstances, it was evident that the staff were doing their best under pressure. They deserve recognition and, honestly, raises for their hard work and dedication. I hope the management addresses the staffing issues soon to improve the dining experience. Overall, while the wait was disappointing, the staff's efforts and the food quality helped salvage the evening.

Been here twice and I loved it both times. Staff and atmosphere were very welcoming, food was great and arrived quickly, manager was friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend.

The new manageress of the Pizza Express in Twickenham has completely turned it around. I had previously written, in 2023, a review damning the place under the previous manager, but now it’s back to the old, lively, good-food fun place it always used to be. Time to rewrite my review. The waitress Dania was incredibly rude, we had an extremely negative experience. We enquired about student discount to be told by one college that it was accepted on that day, before being rudely told by Dania that we shouldn’t have asked the staff and to look online for ourselves. She then rushed our order and proceeded to stand and linger at the table despite asking her politely for a few more minutes. She then started to clear our plates whilst one member of my party was still eating and tried to clear our drinks away when there was still liquid in the bottle. All around felt that we were unwanted there and felt our dining experience was rushed and ultimately wouldn’t be returning. I hope in the future she gets spoken to about her lack of customer service as this was beyond diabolical on so many levels.

Over an hour late, took 2 hours total and the place is less than a mile from my house. If I'd known I would have collected. Only ordered 2 pizzas and 2 starters. No one answered the phone and Just Eat doesn't have a live chat function - just kept pushing the time back with no reassurance the order wasnt just completely forgotten. Food was fine, a bit cold. Will never order again though due to the ridiculous wait & non-existent customer service.

We had a really lovely family meal on Friday evening. The service provided by Biola was absolutely exceptional! The food was fresh and really tasty and we will definitely be back soon. Thank you so much Biola, for making our evening so enjoyable.

Been back several times since the last review and just wanted to say how good things have been. We particularly enjoy the lunch menu and find the Pizza Wraps with salad very good value as well as being tasty. Dominic was his usual friendly and efficient self when we dined today and we had a lovely time. The Pizza Express Club is well worth joining for the freebies. A great lunch once more at the Twickenham branch. Very well looked after by Dominic. Food was served quickly and tasty and hot. With the Rewards app it was good value too.

Booked a school visit and had the best time learning about and making our own pizzas! The chef was super patient, full of facts and encouraged the children to be independent. It is my second time coming here on a school visit and certainly won't be my last. :)

Second time of visiting this one, and I’ve eaten at many other Pizza Express restaurants. The food and service here is way better than others. The food is very fresh and tastes great. Service is warm and friendly. Thank you Dominic and crew for making my visit such a pleasant one.

Dreadful restaurant. On arrival the manager was too busy to help, passed us to a waiter. He was ace. Sat us, took order. Drinks arrived promptly. Then it went to hell. 36 minutes later no food had arrived. Spoke to manager. Apology made. Chased. 10 mins later doughballs. Explanation given that had an 'unexpected' inspection. Doughballs on us. Cool. 10 minutes later. Pizzas arrive. Mine is a Sloppy, normal, not the spicy ordered. Decide free Doughballs will balance out as cannot be arsed dealing anymore with this incompetent restaurant. So. The result is, I use as many rewards as I can (btw, the restaurant had locked me until we told them!) And didn't give a tip. Paid £2 extra for a pizza I didn't get. Will never, ever use this restaurant again. In fact, at this stage I am pretty set that I will never use Pizza Express again. You ain't cheap, and bad service stings.

Often eat here, and always have the Salad Nicoise which has to be the VERY Best in London! Ate it here again on thursday and my companion also rated the Calamari highly. Well done Chef Richard and Waiter Dominic!

Food was good but the service was terrible. Staff had no interest in serving. Waited over 30 mins and they still hadn't come to take our empty plates. We had to physically go up and ask for the bill. Shames. 2nd bad experience this year. The staff definitely need training.

This can no longer really be called "a restaurant" as Take Aways are now the priority. Twice before this year we have been turned away from the restaurant (late evening) as the order list was 'full with Take Aways'. In July I pre-booked a table for 4 for a mid afternoon meal. On arrival, the restaurant was half-full & everyone in there had been served already, however we were told there was a one-hour wait due to take-away orders. We left & found another restaurant. Yesterday, Friday September 22nd, we were advised - on trying to book for an evening meal with family - that they could not confirm we would get served immediately even if the restaurant was empty, as (quote) "Take Aways are now the priority". Pizza Express should decide whether they are a 'Take-Away Only' or a 'Restaurant'. They obviously can't handle both. There are many other good restaurants in Twickenham.

Absolutely dreadful. Ordered pizzas and after an hour’s wait, politely checked to see how much longer it would be, only to have the manager physically and rudely “square up” to my husband and tell him to sit down. So rude and so incredibly disappointing & upsetting. Came home & ordered in.

We have been told that the food will take more than longer to arrive but we weren’t expecting to wait for an hour on a friday night. Online orders are the priority not the customers in the restaurant.

It was a quiet lunchtime when my husband and I went in with 2 grandchildren. The service was good and the staff patient and helpful with the children. I ordered calamari which had burn marks on some rings and the rest of the coating was not crispy. I also had haloumi bites which were all stuck together and the coating was soggy. A real disappointment. The children's dough balls were rather dark but the rest of their and my husbands food was fine

Absolutely super service received at this restaurant; to the point where we visited two evenings consecutively! Food great on both occasions. Very clean. Very central, only a few hundred yards from the Thames and Eel Pie Island. Parking available in Holly Rd car park and was free after 1830.

Loved going to Twickenham Pizza express as well. Being a gold member we get lots of rewards. Love dough balls along with strawberry Sicilian Lemonade. Children love the bambinocinno and desserts
