Nice friendly staff visited for the free pizza

Grand Pollo milanese was so disappointing. Breaded chicken plopped onto rocket lettuce with sundried Tom's, and pesto sauce. Not value for money. Poor presentation. Very plain, and chicken was greasy and tasteless. Lasagna is pre cooked and reheated to order. Pricey and not inspiring. Gone down hill

Just awful. Waited over an hour for our food to come, and once it did, the childrens pasta was under cooked (was rock hard). Sent it back only for it to come back the same a second time. Took a third go to get it right - by this time we'd been there nearly an hour and half with two hungry children. They claimed poor service was due to them being understaffed, yet they were happily sending out take away orders while we were waiting 1hr plus for our under cooked pasta to arrive. We have been visiting various pizza express restaurants over the years but after this experience we have vowed never to visit any again.

24/10/23 - My family and I stopped here on our way home from Thorpe Park for dinner. The manager and his staff were super accommodating and although the restaurant was almost closing, we received a 5 star experience. We ordered two margarita pizzas, a garlic prawn pizza and dough balls and they were made within 10-15 mins!! Presentation and taste was superb and we felt really welcomed and comfortable. The perfect end to the day! Would defo recommend.

Slower than normal service but think it was due to new staff. Food good and nice atmosphere

Tried to dine here this evening and was turnt away due to them being 'short staffed' when they realised we didn't have a reservation. More than half of the tables were empty and could have easily dined 2 more guests. They just simply couldn't be bothered.

Great food and very friendly staff. Never had a bad experience there and I've eaten there a lot. They also offer great 'make a pizza' birthday experiences. Highly recommended.

Average pizza but it’s only pizza express so was not expecting much but the service does not even deserve a one star. Me and my partner are both sick so wanted a quick dinner delivered. Ordered before 6pm on Uber eats, estimated delivery was 6.55pm, then 7.10pm and eventually 7.40pm. Tried to call several times at 7.30pm but no answer. Ended up going and collecting it myself. Quite a rude and condescending manager. Tried to tell me preparation time was an hour for two pizzas despite there being only about 12 tables with customers in the restaurant. I know this is only a pizza order but when you pay you want to receive basic customer service. To rub salt in the wound they finally ’gave our order’ to a driver and he took a picture of my front door for Uber eats. Do yourself a favour and order from somewhere else, avoid pizza express in chertsey.

The pizza is so thin you can see through it.. must be another cost cutting measure

Told collection was 6pm. We collected it at 6. We live 5 mins away. Got it home and they were cold. Looked at the ticket and it said collection time was 5.50. Really didn't enjoy a cold pizza

T’was our first in this Pizza Express. We went on a Saturday for my sister’s leaving lunch. We shared pepperoni pizzas and calzone. I had spagetti Carbonara for my mains. We all loved the atmosphere when we came, Staff greeting you when you arrive… High ceiling, wide window glasses and tables are spaced out nicely for privacy. Our server was very pleasant and helpful as well.

Service was good, food was awful. We ordered garlic bread, thinking it would be a good starter to share for the table. It was almost £7 - pricey for garlic bread even at the best of times - but when it arrived, it was ONE small piece of bread on a plate. The dish was comically small. No one at my table could believe it. Then for the mains, me and my friend both ordered the pesto pasta. The difference between the two dishes that arrived was astounding. They were completely different, both visually and in taste. Mine was coated in an extremely thick, extremely cheesy sauce that made the whole dish too rich to eat. My friend's pasta had a much thinner and much more manageable sauce. I do not understand how there can be so little consistency between dishes, especially when we are talking about the exact same dish. I do not recommend this place.

5 Stars to Chef for cooking great starters and pizza. We liked them throughly. However the service is really miserable. On Thursday evening 20th July we visited. After almost half an hour someone came to take order and then food trickled. No offer of salt, pepper, arlic or chilly oils etc. We wanted to have desert. Only other 2 tables were occupied. No one came or even bothered. Staff kept talking at their counter. After 30 min of waiting we decided enough time is wasted, went to the couter and paid the bill and left. Their loss and we won't be returning back due to poor service. I understand when resturant is busy but when only 3 tables are occupied the level service should be timely.

I would honestly give this a zero, if I could. I ordered a takeaway on deliveroo, waited over an hour and then was told at 10.30pm that the restaurant had cancelled my order because one of the staff had given my meal to the wrong driver and they had now closed. Absolutely no effort to get in touch or to offer some recourse, and then when I tried to call, the restaurant was conveniently closed. Do you think it’s ok to keep an order for that long and then just cancel because it’s convenient for you? They’ve also taken my money and I have to wait for a refund! Unreal!!

I went with my daughter between two shows that she had. I was using the app for the first time and wasn’t sure how to use it. I had ordered the kids meal and my meal and two drinks and as I was in a hurry I asked the waitress if I could pay on the app which she said that I could. It showed me the correct amount but the waitress started to argue afterwards when my daughter had the ice lolly too on the go that that should be paid for as well. I didn’t mind to pay that as well but that was already included in the kids meal. She was shouting and rude and it was embarrassing. They manager was just not bothered and didn’t see him smile once. They have no idea about customer service at all!

Our experience was not delightful. Lunchtime and we 3 were only customers. Thus no ambience. Ordered the light option of prawn pizza with salad in the middle. Not a salad at all - just basil leaves and some rocket! Poor value for money.

Sat for ages before our order was taken' seemed that there was not enough staff on to cover tables. Good was nice and portion size was average. Place was clean and inviting.

I went there on fathers day and it was amazing service by a young male named Geordie he was so polite and always had a smile loved the food and atmosphere it was amazing I would defo recommend going again defo 5star service and food

Came up on father’s day for my dad and i have to say it was amazing the food was 10/10 no faults about it. Also the waiter Geordie was fab he was so friendly and knew what he was doing. When ever we needed a waiter he was straight over helping our needs Well done Geordie !! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Empty restaurant. Long wait. Staff not customer focused. How much for a pizza that was so small I made a sandwich when I got home?

Terrible just shocking waited for an hour just for the food to be the wrong order then waited a further 30+ mins for the correct order and the restaurant wasn’t even busy, staff didn’t check up on us just terrible and the restaurant used to be so good don’t know what’s happened

Careless rude staff.. if you have any allergies don't go here, they do not care about cross contamination whatsoever. Food had to be sent back, because it was so burnt. The chairs had old bits of dried food on them. Will not be back for sure.

Distinctly mediocre food. I dint understand the popularity of this chain at all. The pizza is expensive and tastes like “fancy” frozen pizza. The espresso martini I had tasted thin and too sweet. Staff were friendly but we’re allowing five kids (who were seated at a table on their own away from their parents) to run around and scream all night. The only good thing being that the decor is decent and you know what you’re going to get.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! I would give this establishment minus figures if I could. I ordered a takeaway garlic prawn pizza and got someone else’s order which had nduja in and that is something I most certainly do not have! They blamed Uber Eats, but the manager was terrible at attempting to resolve anything. The sauces I received barely were filled to cover the bottom! That can’t be blamed on uber eats. That would have been Pizza Express’s responsibility. What an atrocity the team at Chertsey Pizza Express are!

We just love this place the pizzas are so yummy.

By far the best Pizza Express within the local area. Very spacious restaurant meaning no stress if you have kids/pushchair with you. Food always exceptional and staff very friendly. Will continue to visit this restaurant over the branches in Weybridge, Walton etc.

Not quite upto their usual standards yesterday. Very slow service for food. And my pasta pollo was okay but could have been better. Good atmosphere in the restaurant though. Still worth a visit.

Pizza is great, but pasta is a bit bland. Portion sizes for pasta are quite small but pizzas are great.

We both had Romana pizza – Fiorentina and Sloppy Giuseppe, hot and delicious. Couple of large glasses of Montepulciano excellent. Great service in a largely empty restaurant with not much atmosphere, but it was a Tuesday night in January …

Just ordered take away - and an £80 order Within the order was a Pollo Milanese costing £7.45 - got home and opened the box to find 3 tiny pieces of chicken. Wouldn’t normally leave a review but no one is answering the phone. Apparently chicken is more expensive than gold!!! Pizza express must try harder with portions! Added photos - the haloumi and salad portions costing £5.95

Great staff and good quality pizza. I normally order a leggera pizza which are low calorie and come with a salad. The team did a great job and the staff were too happy to help with anything. Worth a visit if you are in the Chertsey area

We visit this branch regularly and it never dissapoints. Always great food and the service is quick. The waiting staff are really polite and friendly too.

Disappointing, we were shown to the table then waited 50 minutes to order. Then another 50 minutes for food. My pizza was cold and dry. We had to ask for our salads and dip as they didn't arrive. I had to ask for the table to be cleared . Then search for someone to order desert. The menu said warm chocolate cake , it was stone cold. All in all the food was less than impressive, and tge service was virtually non existent. I certainly would never go there again

When calling up to book a table at 4pm for 8pm.the manager said he will try to accommodate but when arriving at the resturant it was half empty and still was at the end of our meal. When we ordered food at 8pm we waited 35mins for starters finishing our first drink and saying any chance of the starter arriving - once we had starters we sat looking at dirty plates for ages - which were piled up on the table- when pizza come not much of a tomato base it was more of a dough without much topping - because starters were late the manager said give them olives or tomatoes as a sweetener- I think the resturant was so inundated with deliveries that resturant visitors suffered tonight - not sure the manager was bothered too much but the waitress was lovely so credit to her -it's our local pizza place so will come back but pizza express need to address some issues .....

The worst pizza I have ever seen. This is a disgrace and I would strongly recommend people avoid it at all costs. I am deeply disappointed and hungry, how any self respecting restaurant could allow this slop to leave as acceptable is beyond me.

We were staying in Chertsey as we were on a Thorpe Park Trip, and as Pizza Express is always our go-to due to the Vegan Nourish Bowl, Desserts and Tesco Club Card vouchers, we thought we would have our evening meal here. We booked on the App (which is brilliant) and turned up on time. We were given a choice of tables and the decor is very modern, with a loft style ceiling. Sadly the loft style ceiling combined with crockery being stacked and pots being collected made it quite noisy. The waiting on staff were very pleasant, although a little scarce at times. The Vegan Nourish Bowl was as delicious as ever. The lotus biscoff cheesecake is up there with the best dessert ever, my friend loved the tiramisu and my daughters friend loved the lotus sundae. My daughter loved the Aperol Spritz too. All in all the food never disappoints.

Had gluten free and vegan options. Great service from the team and delicious food. We visited on a Tuesday after a day at Thorpe Park after the food there was not to our taste.

Our experience in Pizza express was superb. They have an open kitchen so you can literally watch your food being cooked in front of you. We are vegetarian so had Pizza Padana, it was way delicious that other places. Garlic bread with cheese or Bruchetta were also up to the mark. Their Tiramisu and Hot coffee had a tastiest blend of flavours too. I would highly reccommed Pizza express, Stains to try at least once. You wont be dusappointed. The ambience was plesant and staff was polite too. Only problem is parking as they have limited parking space but one can park their cars near Sainsburry's or station car park which is just few meters away from this restaurant.

We turned up about 8ish.2 Adults 3 children after a day in London didnt think wed get a table but the guy on the front sorted us out No problem made us feel very welcome.and the food was 10/10 the kids meal £7.25 3 course.with the desserts went down very well we were very pleased

We went on a busy evening, we were greeted by a man who did not know what they were doing and seemed flustered. Once seated we met our server, who I believe was called Jack, and all was saved, he was polite, patient and kind even though they were busy. The man we were greeted by (blue shirt) was all too interested in playing on his phone and doing as little as possible, whilst Jack ran round doing everything else, seemingly. Having come from a restaurant background myself I have to say I can feel our server’s frustration. The only reason for 4 stars is blue shirt guy. The food was good and the wait time was minimal.

We stopped here on our way down from the Midlands to Gatwick airport on a Sunday evening (family of 5 including 3 hungry teenage boys). We really enjoyed our doughballs, pizzas and puddings and the service was excellent. The young lady who served us was polite, friendly and really helpful. Only downside was that there was no hoisin duck available for their new pizza which my son was really looking forward to. Apparently there is a shortage across the chain, not just this restaurant, so maybe they should temporarily remove the A board outside the restaurant which advertises this particular pizza until it’s available again!

Good place to chill. Amazing food

A pretty standard Pizza Express experience. Food was standardly decent & service was quick. My only quarm is that it took some time to get the bill when we came to leave, which was frustrating with an impatient 2 year old kicking off! However, I appreciate we visited at a busy time on a Sunday afternoon - so a wait of sorts was to be expected. As an aside, I decided to try the gluten-free pizza base for my order. I'm not a coeliac but try to avoid gluten where possible... but I found the texture of the base a tad strange so wouldn't recommend it on that basis.

Lovely restaurant with plenty of parking nearby. Always good food and drink. Kids menu is good and colour pencils and pads keep them entertained.

The manager served us and he was a credit to the company. Looked after us well, great knowledge of the menu, extremely helpful.

BE AWARE anyone who has a gluten free allergy do not order/ eat here. Even though I have ordered in the past with no problems my last order which should of been completely gluten free wasn't. A mistake was made in the kitchen which is unacceptable at a coeliac uk accredited premises.

Went there today to have a Birthday lunch for my 18 year old son. We were sat next to a 6 th Birthday party. Children there were running around screaming, falling over while the parents there just let them. We could not talk for the amount of noise and chaos these kids were making. I like kids but most of them were adverts for contraception! Was such a nightmare. The servers were doing the best they could but a load of parents who were there were sat away from the children drinking wine a bit caring that the children were ruining a meal for everyone else there. Will only go there again if no feral party

If you’re a vegetarian or vegan then avoid this place like the plague! No jackfruit pepperoni, no problem, they’ll sneak in meat pepperoni instead! Shameful!!!

As it was our son's birthday we took him selected Friends for a meal. The service was superb and the food was fantastic.

Sunday afternoon and just me and my two adult children decided to pop in for lunch. The one guy serving didn't have any customer service skills, even when I mentioned my garlic prawns didn't taste of any garlic nor chilli flakes, he just dismissed my comments and said the chef always cooks them the same way. He then mumbled and left the table. The food is so bland, the legerra pizza was ridiculously thin and dry. I have had this before and it was delicious. No Spaghetti Bolognese available and so my son chose Lasagne, which he left most of as he said the meat tasted like something out of a tin! We all had soft drinks and left with an £80 bill, which quite frankly I'm fuming about. I'll never waste my time or money on this local Pizza express again. I suggest you do the same.
