Pizza Express in Runnymede

Eaten here multiple times and always had great service and great food!

When you have pizza express you know what you’re getting. I went for an American in the Romana style (larger and flatter). It was very tasty, pepperoni was cooked well and none of it was burnt. Service was polite and efficient albeit there were only two customers in for lunch. Which brings me on to my last issue which is the pricing. It’s too expensive. My pizza was £15 (my colleague paid as it was my birthday) but I feel like if they did a lunch time deal for £6 they would sell a load more. Would go again if in Chertsey due to limited choice but in London you can get pizza as good elsewhere for much cheaper.

Worst delivery I ever had, small, cold portions, the picture was supposed to be a mixed salad for £5.95, the bruschetta had pesto on it, it all looked like someone’s leftovers

Food was amazing, service was amazing too very patient and kind. Definetly recommend this place for dinner. Atmosphere was good although extremely loud had to certianly raise your voice to make conversation.

Really relaxed and enjoyable dining experience at this branch. Was inviting, well lit and had a great atmosphere. Teen accomplice described it as "bougie". Both had dough balls to start: American hot and Al Forno. Both were delicious, especially the Al Forno if you like cheese. Mains were a Grand chicken Caesar salad and a La Reine pizza. Both were served in a timely manner after the starter plates were cleared away. Both were enjoyable and the portion size was good with no excessive leftovers. Dessert was a Sicilian roulade which was good. Service was excellent, would love to name the young lady who served us but sadly no name badge. Well done, Chertsey branch.

Great pizza express very popular for kids parties 🥳

What is with the portion sizes in Chertsey? Everything was much smaller than other branches. My son was given dough balls that were the size of 20p pieces. All the pizzas were smaller than we've had in other branches. Won't be returning.

came in on Friday, was served by Geordie. Such a pleasant experience and he was very friendly and attentive with us! Looked after us very well. The energy was giving! Would 150% recommend the food and the staff, will definitely be returning! :)

Very nice indeed, lovely pizzas but quite expensive, for just pizzas. We could have had an Indian takeaway for a similar price. Might think twice before ordering on a Friday, might look for cheaper offer on weekdays.

We celebrated my daughters 8th Birthday and had a pizza making party at Chertsey Pizza express for 20 children. The area where we had the party was spatious, great set up, had a separate table for eating and separate long table to make the pizzas which was a great set up! The party host Carlos was an amazing host and made everything so seamless and ticking like clockwork. The kids loved the pizza making and the host kept an eye on the smallest of details, soeverything was amazing! Great value for a kids party too! Highly recommend this branch! All the staff were really lovely! Food was tasty! 5 out of 5 stars! Thank you again, we are very happy!

We booked pizza express for my son 6th birthday party with his school friends and family. The whole thing from booking was amazing... The staff were great with all the children (20 of them!) Would definitely recommend! Well done Chertsey pizza express 😊

Bit of a mixed experience in here tonight! Turned up without a booking and were seated and had our orders taken nice and quickly. It was busy so we were told the wait could be half an hour or so - no problem. Two tasty g+ts and over an hour later, the table that arrived after us have had their starters and their mains arrive. I call over the server who has already “checked” on our order once before and he assures us he will check on our order and make sure it gets done next. Hungry and fed up, he comes back over and tells us it is being made. So imagine our surprise when it never materialises and in fact the kitchen has “lost the ticket” and unfortunately there’s no burnt ends pizza left. Extremely disappointing. Props to the guy in the floral shirt (the manager?) who sorted it out- he couldn’t have been more apologetic and nice. He offered us new pizzas on the house which arrived very quickly and also wouldn’t let me pay for the drinks which was very much appreciated. We had the pizzas to takeaway because, after sitting there for an hour and a half, the time was running out on the car park. Pizzas were very tasty and it won’t put us off returning. We’ll be going back for the pizzas we originally went there for!

Order via the App was easy. Estimated time was about 45 mins (a little longer than I would have liked for a Tuesday evening) but that was more or less spot on for the actual delivery. Courier was very polite and on time to the App estimate. The pizzas were well packaged and piping hot. Really pleased with the look, taste, topping quality and the price. Well done. Will use again,

I took my son and his friend for lunch (2 hungry teens) as they love pizza. The food didn’t disappoint and we all tucked into our starters and pizzas . Delicious and a lots of variety to chose from. We were served by both Hollie and Bruce, both professional in their roles. The boys also had a dessert which they enjoyed. Will return if we are in the area. 🍕⭐️

Great food and very friendly staff. Never had a bad experience there and I've eaten there a lot. They also offer great 'make a pizza' birthday experiences. Highly recommended.

As Pizza Express restaurants go, this has attentive helpful staff, though not the best pizzas I've had from this chain. Maybe I should stick to their classic base. The Romana might be thin, but it's just not that crispy! Excellent polenta chips, as always, though. Seems to one of those branches where desperate parents come when they're fed up of cooling for the children....and I know the feeling. 😀

I cannot thank the waiter who served me, I think his name was Geordie. He was amazing, he was so friendly and kind and welcoming, and so funny. He was so patient with me as I was taking so long to choose what I was wanting to order which he highly recommended the Christmas feast which I went for and I highly recommend this. I was there for a couple of hours. But I will be returning the service was amazing! Thank you.

Ordered a takeaway at 6.45pm. It didn’t arrive until 8.25pm. All 3 pizzas at cost of over £60 were stone cold. Repeated attempts were made to contact the Chertsey branch by phone to resolve but they did not answer. This is totally unacceptable and I would not order from Pizza Express again and would not recommend anyone else do so if they would like a hot meal within an hour!

We visited on a Saturday evening, we were greeted warmly. The manager said it was busy and that he would try and find us a table which he did. The service was excellent, our server was lovely. The food was excellent and very good value for money. We couldn't fault it whatsoever, would definitely recommend!

I come into the chertsey restaurant, looked very busy, but a lovely bloke who worked there Geordie ressured me and accommodated me to my table I was unsure what to get but geordie recommend a dish for me to try he was very helpful and polite. was very satisfied with the services. I will definitely come again

The food was cold. They are so stingy, giving me a literal teaspoon of garlic butter with my 5 dough balls. For it being such a big chain this specific restaurant actually sucks.

Came in today around 6pm, was served by a waiter called Geordie whose service was fantastic, he went out of his way and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, one of the kindest waiters i've been served by at any restaurant

Excellent as always, our starter was a little stale/cold and was replaced no issues. Perfect the second time around. Geordie our waiter was great. Happy with the whole experience

Special family treat for husband's birthday this evening. Very disappointing - doughballs chilled, service unremarkable, excessive dressing on salad, food was nothing special. And charged well over £100 for 4. Pizza Express is not what it used to be. Won't be going again anytime soon.

The service was reasonable. My waitress was a little brash and not as friendly as the other staff. Otherwise she was pleasant. Having a charity donation added to my bill without a request or consent made me a little bit uncomfortable. I'm more than happy to make charitable donations but feel you should at least be asked before it's added to your bill. It's a nice restaurant with lots of seating and the service in here is usually really good. Would recommend 😊

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant for my son's pizza making party (6th birthday). The staff were friendly and helpful - particular mention to Carlos who ran the kid's party. He somehow managed to keep the attention of a room full of six year olds and expertly taught them how to make their pizzas in a light hearted and fun way. Very impressed. The food for the adults was quick and tasty, all in an all a fantastic experience all around. Well done!

Best pizza I've had in a long time, had the hot honey dough balls and calamari for starters which my son loved, then had the American and BBQ burnt ends pizzas which were great. Service was great especially the blonde hair girl who brought the food to the table. Overall 10/10

The food was delicious with a range of dipping sauces with the starters.. i was disappointed with the salad filled middle pizza that i ordered as the “salad” was mostly rocket and basil leaves with abit of ceaser dressing no vegetables involved at all. Also the pizza was cut out so there was about 2inches of the actual base all around. Staff could have been more friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was poor.

It was a huge portion and was very tasty. Really loved it. I recommend Lokanta everyone 👍

I wish I could share a picture of it. The pizza literally had two parts of dough. The bottom and crust and a layer with the pepperoni and cheese on. Absolutely awful and I want a refund.

Grand Pollo milanese was so disappointing. Breaded chicken plopped onto rocket lettuce with sundried Tom's, and pesto sauce. Not value for money. Poor presentation. Very plain, and chicken was greasy and tasteless. Lasagna is pre cooked and reheated to order. Pricey and not inspiring. Gone down hill

Had a takeaway from here. 2 pizza's and 2 sides, excellent value. Food arrived warm and in perfect order. The food was tasty.

Just awful. Waited over an hour for our food to come, and once it did, the childrens pasta was under cooked (was rock hard). Sent it back only for it to come back the same a second time. Took a third go to get it right - by this time we'd been there nearly an hour and half with two hungry children. They claimed poor service was due to them being understaffed, yet they were happily sending out take away orders while we were waiting 1hr plus for our under cooked pasta to arrive. We have been visiting various pizza express restaurants over the years but after this experience we have vowed never to visit any again.

24/10/23 - My family and I stopped here on our way home from Thorpe Park for dinner. The manager and his staff were super accommodating and although the restaurant was almost closing, we received a 5 star experience. We ordered two margarita pizzas, a garlic prawn pizza and dough balls and they were made within 10-15 mins!! Presentation and taste was superb and we felt really welcomed and comfortable. The perfect end to the day! Would defo recommend.

Didn't even deliver my food and took it back to shop then didn't cancel order so then charged me and didn't get money back

Tried to dine here this evening and was turnt away due to them being 'short staffed' when they realised we didn't have a reservation. More than half of the tables were empty and could have easily dined 2 more guests. They just simply couldn't be bothered.

Average pizza but it’s only pizza express so was not expecting much but the service does not even deserve a one star. Me and my partner are both sick so wanted a quick dinner delivered. Ordered before 6pm on Uber eats, estimated delivery was 6.55pm, then 7.10pm and eventually 7.40pm. Tried to call several times at 7.30pm but no answer. Ended up going and collecting it myself. Quite a rude and condescending manager. Tried to tell me preparation time was an hour for two pizzas despite there being only about 12 tables with customers in the restaurant. I know this is only a pizza order but when you pay you want to receive basic customer service. To rub salt in the wound they finally ’gave our order’ to a driver and he took a picture of my front door for Uber eats. Do yourself a favour and order from somewhere else, avoid pizza express in chertsey.

Food was dry and there was long piece of fish in my friends chicken Cesar salad, that was definitely not anchovy. Not impressed

Told collection was 6pm. We collected it at 6. We live 5 mins away. Got it home and they were cold. Looked at the ticket and it said collection time was 5.50. Really didn't enjoy a cold pizza

T’was our first in this Pizza Express. We went on a Saturday for my sister’s leaving lunch. We shared pepperoni pizzas and calzone. I had spagetti Carbonara for my mains. We all loved the atmosphere when we came, Staff greeting you when you arrive… High ceiling, wide window glasses and tables are spaced out nicely for privacy. Our server was very pleasant and helpful as well.

Service was good, food was awful. We ordered garlic bread, thinking it would be a good starter to share for the table. It was almost £7 - pricey for garlic bread even at the best of times - but when it arrived, it was ONE small piece of bread on a plate. The dish was comically small. No one at my table could believe it. Then for the mains, me and my friend both ordered the pesto pasta. The difference between the two dishes that arrived was astounding. They were completely different, both visually and in taste. Mine was coated in an extremely thick, extremely cheesy sauce that made the whole dish too rich to eat. My friend's pasta had a much thinner and much more manageable sauce. I do not understand how there can be so little consistency between dishes, especially when we are talking about the exact same dish. I do not recommend this place.

5 Stars to Chef for cooking great starters and pizza. We liked them throughly. However the service is really miserable. On Thursday evening 20th July we visited. After almost half an hour someone came to take order and then food trickled. No offer of salt, pepper, arlic or chilly oils etc. We wanted to have desert. Only other 2 tables were occupied. No one came or even bothered. Staff kept talking at their counter. After 30 min of waiting we decided enough time is wasted, went to the couter and paid the bill and left. Their loss and we won't be returning back due to poor service. I understand when resturant is busy but when only 3 tables are occupied the level service should be timely.

I would honestly give this a zero, if I could. I ordered a takeaway on deliveroo, waited over an hour and then was told at 10.30pm that the restaurant had cancelled my order because one of the staff had given my meal to the wrong driver and they had now closed. Absolutely no effort to get in touch or to offer some recourse, and then when I tried to call, the restaurant was conveniently closed. Do you think it’s ok to keep an order for that long and then just cancel because it’s convenient for you? They’ve also taken my money and I have to wait for a refund! Unreal!!

I went with my daughter between two shows that she had. I was using the app for the first time and wasn’t sure how to use it. I had ordered the kids meal and my meal and two drinks and as I was in a hurry I asked the waitress if I could pay on the app which she said that I could. It showed me the correct amount but the waitress started to argue afterwards when my daughter had the ice lolly too on the go that that should be paid for as well. I didn’t mind to pay that as well but that was already included in the kids meal. She was shouting and rude and it was embarrassing. They manager was just not bothered and didn’t see him smile once. They have no idea about customer service at all!

Our experience was not delightful. Lunchtime and we 3 were only customers. Thus no ambience. Ordered the light option of prawn pizza with salad in the middle. Not a salad at all - just basil leaves and some rocket! Poor value for money.

Sat for ages before our order was taken' seemed that there was not enough staff on to cover tables. Good was nice and portion size was average. Place was clean and inviting.

Careless rude staff.. if you have any allergies don't go here, they do not care about cross contamination whatsoever. Food had to be sent back, because it was so burnt. The chairs had old bits of dried food on them. Will not be back for sure.

Distinctly mediocre food. I dint understand the popularity of this chain at all. The pizza is expensive and tastes like “fancy” frozen pizza. The espresso martini I had tasted thin and too sweet. Staff were friendly but we’re allowing five kids (who were seated at a table on their own away from their parents) to run around and scream all night. The only good thing being that the decor is decent and you know what you’re going to get.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! I would give this establishment minus figures if I could. I ordered a takeaway garlic prawn pizza and got someone else’s order which had nduja in and that is something I most certainly do not have! They blamed Uber Eats, but the manager was terrible at attempting to resolve anything. The sauces I received barely were filled to cover the bottom! That can’t be blamed on uber eats. That would have been Pizza Express’s responsibility. What an atrocity the team at Chertsey Pizza Express are!

By far the best Pizza Express within the local area. Very spacious restaurant meaning no stress if you have kids/pushchair with you. Food always exceptional and staff very friendly. Will continue to visit this restaurant over the branches in Weybridge, Walton etc.

Not quite upto their usual standards yesterday. Very slow service for food. And my pasta pollo was okay but could have been better. Good atmosphere in the restaurant though. Still worth a visit.

Pizza is great, but pasta is a bit bland. Portion sizes for pasta are quite small but pizzas are great.

Original timings said 2.20 to 2.30 but it kept changing the time and eventually arrived after 3pm, and only lukewarm. Shame as otherwise delicious
