Pizza Express in Camden

This place deserves top marks - a friendly welcome; super-efficient preparation of tables (even on a very busy evening); attentive and good-humoured staff; great food. What more can you ask of a drop-in pizza place in central London? Ivo the waiter was awesome - a terrific evening.

Had a fabulous meal @ this restaurant yesterday the manager went above & beyond to get us all seated on such a busy marathon day, so much appreciated by me & all the family.

This Pizza Express is in a great location. It was really busy when we arrived on a Saturday evening and we didn’t book. They soon found us a table though and our waiter Isaac was really excellent. Despite being very busy he had a brief conversation with us and was so courteous, cheerful and polite. He couldn’t do enough for us. The food came quickly and was delicious. The Montepulciano red wine we had was really good. Highly recommend.

As the title says, if you are looking for good food, this is not the place! Service was good, food not that great, not even the pizza. The pizza crust was so thin that I could not literally cut it or hold it in my hand to enjoy it. Will not come back to eat on this chain.

Vine aquí con nuestros niños (4 y 6 años) en medio de nuestro día de caminata en Londres. Incluso con las restricciones de Covid, teníamos un buen lugar para sentarnos y disfrutar. La comida estuvo estupenda. El servicio fue eficiente. Personal amigable. Nos preguntaron si disfrutamos de la comida. Mi hijo respondió: "No solo fue bueno, fue épico".

Visited here for lunch. We were welcomed and it was explained that the table had not yet been made up and would be cleaned prior to us sitting down etc. Service was perfect - there when we needed it and in the background when we didn't. Food was as expected for Pizza Express - speedy, tasty, perfect!

Early evening dinner before the theatre was enjoyable. Pleasant service from our server Jess. I enjoyed my well presented pizza and small desert with coffee. Looked full as we left so a popular location close to theatres.

Having found St Martin's Lane full we managed to get in here. Told them we were pushed for time and waiter was very accommodating. Pizza pretty good, but mushroom risotto very small portion, more like a starter than a main. Friend then needed something to fill her up and they were out of profitarolls... had to get her a sandwich in Pret!

A great place to eat for a pre theatre bite. Excellent service with highly attentive waiting staff. Recommended

Food was good, but at 9pm there seemed to be a never ending procession of staff finishing and the 2 who were on seemed to not like each other. Service ranged from haphazard to headless chicken, via disorganised chaos.

Always enjoyable- cheap and cheerful. I’ve always managed to walk into this busy restaurant and have a lovely meal with good service. I’ve been twice in the last month. Love that you can use o2 priority vouchers here too!

I am a fan of Pizza Expess & don't complain. Had booked a table for 6.30pm & had pre ordered food (19 of us). Due to no trains running to get us back to Leceister Sq, we rang ahead & advised Pizza X some of us would be a little late, part of our group were already there & seated for 6.30. We arrived in 2 groups, one at 6.40 & one at 7pm. At 7.45 both groups had not had their starters, we had to leave at 7.45 to get to the Carnival Comedy club about 10 mins away. My pizza was not cooked and not edible, my daughters pizza was cold. By the time we had eaten & paid the bill we got to the comedy club at 8.30 having missed half an hour of the show. I appreciate some of us were late but having pre ordered our food, it should have been ready for the first group by 7 and for the second group by 7.15.The pizza X fiasco tainted what had been a lovely day for my daughters hen do.

I do like the food at Pizza Express restaurants but the service can be a bit hit and miss so we decided to give this one a try before seeing a show nearby. After some initial slow service with them finding our booking/sending us upstairs and another member of staff searching for our booking again we had a really good meal. The food was great, they served us quickly when we told them we were in a slight rush and the 2 courses for £12.95 vouchers are great value for what you get.

Popped in here after a trip to the cinema - despite it being very busy, we were quickly seated and our order taken and served in good time. No complaints - what I expect from a well known brand whose product I've always enjoyed and seldom had reason to complain about. Total bill for the two of us came to £37.05 plus tip - s/l tonic, large glass of chianti, pollo pesto and leggera padana pizza. I like the 'famous film quotes' themed decor, reflecting the location.

My friend and I ate here yesterday pre theatre. Slight mix up with the order, immediately rectified with abject apologies and free desserts and starters. Staff should be highly commended, well done Pizza Express.

Great location for theatreland, standard Pizza Express menu, food and service as expected. BUT... the seats in our booth at the back were ripped and exposed foam was really grubby. Felt like a 1970s waiting room. No excuse and daren't even think about hygiene implications. Close the booth and get it fixed. We will NOT be back.

Good service I guess but the food wasn’t great including a garlic prawn starter which didn’t feel or look cooked. It looked microwaved from frozen. What a shame. It’s a jaded brand now with such a low threshold of standard now.

5 of us had dessert and drinks by the window and a table was cleared and offered to us once one became available. Very polite staff member, great service.

Myself and 2 teens ate here yesterday, it was a spur of the moment choice. It was very busy, but staff noticed us almost immediately and asked if we wanted a table.

We called in for tea nice place good side with a up stairs room, food was good as usually in a pizza express, staff very accommodating to be honest can’t fault the place if you want a quick tea/ pizza.

No estaba demasiado ocupado y era encantador ver pasar el mundo en las calles de abajo mientras esperábamos nuestra comida. El servicio era bueno, y también rápido. Las alergias fueron bien atendidas, con una lista completa del menú y los alérgenos en cada plato. Las pizzas que elegimos estaban cocinadas a pedido y deliciosas. Los postres tardaron unos minutos en llegar, pero valió la pena esperar. Todo estaba muy bien presentado también. Una comida muy agradable!

I came to this restaurant with my 4 year old son for an ice cream stop off and potential early meal. The moment I walked through the door I was given a dismissive look followed by negative comments from two member of staff as I asked for only dessert and hot drink menus to start off with. They continued their dismissive negative comments whilst I was in front of them seating my child down, so I opted to leave. I wasn’t going to spend a penny or a moment more of our time there. Thoroughly disappointed about your standards of customer service pizza express. Rubbish, impolite, avoid this branch at all costs!!

I was there for lunch with a friend, and both ordered pizzas. The waiter and other staff were friendly and efficient. It was fairly busy, but we did not have long to wait. The pizzas were fine, as you expect.

Three couples went here for a meal before going to the theatre, and even though the restaurant was packed, the service that we received from Giedre was exceptional, and she remembered who had ordered what. We will return.

So we just left the theatre and looking for something light to here so we stumble along until we decided pizza.When we arrived we asked if we had a reservation when we replied with yes the gentleman suddenly said we could only could have window seating cause the tables where booked it’s wasn’t even busy when we arrived. The level of service needs to be looked at as the waiter took his time getting back to us and left us waiting ten + minutes before he took our order once food arrived the food was good could not fault it well done to the but when change of dishes the waiter didn’t bother to ask if we where finished and just took our food away on closing of the evening we where brought the wrong receipt so this is showing me you not keeping a track of you tables properly .Any-who nice place good food probably only recommend when quite

We visited Pizza Express after a show last night only because of the location and just wanted a late night snack.

Después de entrar, esperamos unos minutos para que el personal desocupado nos prestara atención y luego nos sentáramos en una mesa colocada de manera incómoda en medio del restaurante. Esperamos un tiempo muy largo para el servicio, la comida tardaba una eternidad y la camarera estaba claramente distraída por todo lo que se movía. Pedimos la factura y les dijimos que la necesitábamos rápidamente, ya que tenían prisa y la factura tardó más de 10 minutos en llegar; a este ritmo, habría sido más fácil para mí obtenerlo e, probablemente, hacer un mejor trabajo al hacerlo. Muy decepcionado

Fuimos a comer a las 3 de la tarde, nos atendieron con amabilidad y sin problema a pesar de las horas.

Cuando llegamos había por lo menos 10 mesas libres, pero decidieron sentarnos en la peor, apretadas en una esquina y muy incómodas.

We were on a tight schedule and we found this restaurant outside the subway station. The pizza and the canelonni were very good. I recommend and I will return for sure.

Pizza express Charing Cross Road

We went to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and needed somewhere nearby to eat between performances. Great restaurant with very friendly staff and efficient service.

Fab service...really looked after us. Was two friends birthdays and they personalised the chocolate fudge cake with happy birthday which was nice! In fact, the chocolate fudge cake is to die for and surprisingly one of the best that I have ever had!

Nipped in for a quick lunch whilst in Leicester Square, situated a few steps from the underground. A couple of waiting on staff, so service was a little stretched. Food was nice and hit the spot - sampled the vegan giardiniera fully loaded with vegan cheese, nice enough. Could still do with more vegan options on the menu though. Good value kids menu for £7.25, overall bill £56 which included a starter to share and two Peroni’s. Not the cheapest of lunch dates.

I dropped in to this Pizza Express mainly out of convenience (it was raining, I hadn't eaten, and it was the first restaurant I spotted). Living in the US and being used to mostly mediocre chain pizza restaurants, I was really impressed with Pizza Express. The calabrese pizza was loaded with flavorful sausages, peppers and buffalo mozzarella. The waiter provided garlic and chili oil to garnish it. Even though I managed to eat the whole thing, it's big enough to share with (at least) one other person. The marinated olives are a light and tasty appetizer. At this location, reservations are recommended around lunchtime. The place filled up quickly not long after I arrived.

As a family we go to so many Pizza Express branches all over the country that we should write a guidebook!

Sí hemos tenido algunos mal servicio, pero la comida siempre ha sido impecable y la factura ha sido siempre una gran relación calidad-precio. Así que cuando estoy revisando un Pizza Express en el bar es siempre alta, para empezar.

Situado justo enfrente de la estación de metro Leicester Square es un multi nivel Pizza Express justo al lado de Soho y de todas las atracciones, teatros, etc. Visitó en la noche del miércoles temprano en la noche pre-show - un montón de espacio y mesas para elegir, aunque algunas mesas están muy juntos. La comida es cosas normales Pizza express pero algunos precios parecía estar un poco más altos que en otros sitios. El personal era bueno y no demasiado agresivos, el servicio era bastante rápido. Podría ser más frecuentada más tarde y los fines de semana pero en general quedamos bastante contentos con este restaurante.

Ate here on the evening of Saturday 17th March 2018 prior to going to the theatre. The restaurant was very busy (every restaurant in the area seemed very busy) with people having pre-theatre meals. The food was the standard Pizza Express fare and was OK.

Vegan cheese at pizza express is just amazing, and the staff is so helpful on helping choosing the right ingredients for my pizza. Plus my girlfriend love the skinny option with salad in the middle, excellent idea. Bravo

My husband and I visited this restaurant to eat before a show last week. Although it was very busy, we did not feel in the least bit rushed. Our waiter Ademar was very helpful and friendly. Our food was fresh and very tasty. Would recommend for a reasonably priced meal close to the West End theatres.

The usual Pizza Express menu, served promptly, despite our arrival at Theatre ‘turning out’ time. The staff are the stars here: exceptionally pleasant, helpful and efficient with added cheerfulness. Never mind the pizzas, I’d return to this branch just for the staff

Went to Pizza Express for a meal before theatre. We had left plenty of time, the restaurant was busy but not full. It took around 40 minutes to get our pizzas, which were not hot but texture was like they'd been kept warm for too long. Service was polite but slow and we (along with the family at the adjacent table) felt we'd been forgotten. Ended up having to rush our food to get to the theatre.

We have eaten in this pizza express on New Year's Eve. After 20 minutes late arriving after a reservation still got a table on a busy evening. The service was very fast and friendly. The food was very tasty.

Our first issue here was trying to get a Pizza Express near to our theatre which had wheelchair access. This was the third one we found and had a 2nd door where we could get in easily enough.Staff were pleasant enough, we really enjoyed the Malbec wine with our meal but at just short of £9 a glass, wasn't that great value.We opted for the 3 courses meal deal but were not given the special restricted menu to choose from. Luckily, we'd opted for things that complied with that menu so were OK.Mozzarella and tomato starter was pretty bland and oily, pizzas were OK as was coffee. Desserts were mass produced but OK.

A great location next to Leicester Square tube station and a few minutes walk from Leicester Square in the one direction and Covent Garden in the other. The décor is less branded than some other of the chain's restaurants, which is good. It had the current fashionable arty feel with exposed brick columns, white tiles and "labyrinth" prints by the artist Mark Wallinger on the wall. We were there at the busy time for a pre-theatre meal and the service was excellent and friendly. We had some old favourites from the menu and some new - the chicken Milanese was really good - washed down with a bottle on Montepulciano.

I visited Pizza Express with my wife expecting a bit of a wait. We got sat down straight away and the service was second to none. The food was also very good.

We booked for Julia Fordham at Pizza on the Strand back on 8 March. We booked the more expensive tickets at £38 advertised as front or unobscured view of stage, not £20 which were advertised as side or obscured view. We arrived at doors 8.30pm and were seated by 8.40pm at a table at side towards the back with obscured view of stage (see pic). I complained and was re-seated 15 minutes late (8.55pm) into a table in the main section that had been squeezed in so waiting staff could not get to it. The floor manager said it was not her fault as she does not allocate tables. Worthwhile to note that there was a table for 2 right at front which was never used (see pic) and became a joke on stage as to people with poor seating rotating it’s use on each song. As our table had been squeezed in we seemed to be between waiting staff and it took 20 minutes (9.15pm, 45 minutes after arrival) to get anyone to take our order. Julia Fordham came on stage at 9.40pm. We started to enjoy the gig with no food. At 9.45pm, our mains (Lasagne, Fiorentina Pizza and 2 side salads arrived). We told the waitress we had not had our starters yet? Mains taken away. Starters arrived 9.50pm. We ate them quickly (5 mins actually) and then waited for plates to be taken away. Finally got up and found waitress at 10.10pm. She stated that it was a full house downstairs and upstairs and with only one kitchen open upstairs, the place could not cope, so it wasn’t her fault. She took plates and delivered mains (1 hour 40 minutes after arrival). The mains were not fresh. They were the same plates delivered at 9.45pm, 25 minutes earlier. The lasagne was luke warm. The pizza was soft, so I sent back for a fresh one. It was redelivered 8 minutes later burnt and dry, as the pizza produced over 40 minutes earlier had just been passed through an oven again (see pic). Appalling. I had given up by this time so just ate it as we were in the middle of the gig. To make matters worse (it was dark) I started to chew what I can only describe as a small stick in the food (picture attached). I complained when the waiter collected the plates. We were never offered coffee/desserts and just wanted to get out when the gig ended at 11.20pm but, despite all the table around us having gone (see pic). We got the bill just after 11.30pm At the end the Pizza was taken off the bill (around £12 ?) but that does not compensate for a ruined evening that we had been looking forward to for the last 4 months. The table next to us stated they were glad they had eaten upstairs earlier as service looked appalling downstairs. The evening cost us a total of £134 but were there mainly for the gig, which was ruined by all the seating and delivery issues. Shame.

I came here all the time and love the pizzas, my favourite is Fiorentina: light but filling. The lasagna is also very tasty.

After seeing the Harry Potter plays we enjoyed an excellent late night pizza and a glass of red wine here. The tables were spotless, the staff were not just friendly and efficient but fun as well. It may be a chain but we highly recommend this restaurant. They do takeaways too.

Very nice meal and attentive friendly staff. Clean restaurant and tasty food. Obtained 20% discount from a tourist London Guide leaflet - sorry can't remember name but discount for all Pizza Express.

This Pizza Express restaurant was ideally located for a pre-theatre dinner. I opted for the cod crocchettes for starters, the Pollo Pesto and dough balls served with garlic butter for my main course, all washed down with a bottle of Pinot Grigio. For dessert, I had the New York-style vanilla cheesecake served with mascarpone. The Pollo Pesto was particularly good. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We finished a long day, and stopped to eat there, good pizza, a bit expensive, but very fast and tasty.

Food was of mediocre standard for pizza express. The staff were more interested in playing Frisbee with a tray than dealing with customers. They were totally lacking any customer courtesy. Half of our table were still eating as they were clearing the others empty plates. The place was half empty but we felt like we were intruding. Totally begrudge spending £75 on out bill. This has put me off all pizza express..

ideal for when you get out the underground, staff were superb, food was nice and let my partner take her pizza with her in a take out box. would recommend if anyone in the area

I called in here for dinner after a day travelling to London and then a lot of walking around the city.It was around 6.00pm and was busy. There weren't any free tables but we were directed to wait by the bar until one became vacant. We didn't have to wait long.Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Service was prompt - we ordered and received our drinks and then ordered our pizzas. The pizzas didn't take long to arrive - and both were delicious. Mine was very thin and crispy just as I like them. My husband had a calzone which he enjoyed. We shared a dessert, tiramisu as we were quite full and didn't want one each. Also had coffee which was very good indeed.Overall I was very satisfied with our visit. Not too expensive either.

The middle aged lady who wearing glasses at the reception didn't give us a nice welcoming. She didn't even smile and even though the restaurant was empty, she showed us the worst possible table. The behaviour of the waiters was mannered. They keep asking insincerely about food but it was annoying.Also, we really didn't like the pizza. It was like made from thin pita bread. This was our first and last Pizza Express experience.

Ignored on arrival. Had to prompt the manager to seat us as we had a reservation. Exceptionally busy. Very nice waiter. Dough balls for all and lovely. Wrong wine brought to us, that was corrected. My pizza was wrong - had to watch my friends eating and wait. Apology from manager, she blamed the waiter (I don't think it was him to be honest as my order ended up on table next door), no compensation for my delay and it led us to not have time for dessert as off to the theatre. Food quality excellent. Toilets clean. Convenient location. Where you book a table, be assertive and use a bigger to save money!

We arrived at 5:30 without booking and the restaurant was very busy. The staff were helpful and we only had a short wait before they found us a table upstairs. The waiter was brilliant, friendly, efficient and funny. I had a very tasty gluten free pizza , perfectly cooked. It was no hassle to use vouchers. The staff were attentive from the time we came in to leaving, highly recommended.

Cuando llegamos al restaurante no estaba del todo lleno pero aun así nos sentaron tan pegados a un grupo de gente que no podíamos ni mantener una conversación sin gritar. Todo el resto de las personas estaban sentadas espaciadamente unas de otras excepto nosotras, y no solo eso, encima nos sentaron tan cerca de la entrada que no podíamos ni quitarnos los abrigos del frío que entraba cada vez que alguien abría la puerta. Le pedimos amablemente a una de las camareras que si nos cambiaba dos mesas mas allá y aceptó de mala gana poniendo mala cara. Las pizzas estaban buenas sin ser nada del otro mundo y el tiramisú bastante regular, no repetiría con el postre.

Difficult to get a table, always full, but once in and served the pizza was really delicious! Pasta looked good too!

I visited with extended family and we all enjoyed the meal. Some of us had particular dietary requirements and the staff made sure that these were obtained. The pizzas and service were good.

We went to Pizza Express twice while in London~ pretty darn good thin crust pizza. There are numerous locations and worth the trip.

Four (4) of us (adult, 14,13,13) dropped in for lunch on a Sunday. Met by a very friendly and helpful waiter on arrival. We ordered a classic pizza each. Also had the dough balls for starters. We all agreed the pizza was fantastic and would gladly come back.

I went here with a couple of friends for a pre-theatre meal and was not impressed. 2 of the meals arrived but we had to wait another 20 minutes for the third, whilst there was no mention of taking it off the bill or providing something in the meantime. The only thing the server offered was to get another plate and share someone else's meal! When the meal finally arrived, the guy even had the cheek to tell us not to eat it just yet as it was hot- so we had to wait even longer. By far the worst Pizza Express I've been in, though they did eventually take the meal off of the bill, though there was still no mention to us that this had happened. Poor service, though pretty good food.

If it weren’t for the friendly and efficient front-of-house staff, I’m not sure there would be any reason to set foot in this establishment - or any other branch of this chain for that matter. I have always considered Pizza Express way ahead of other high street pizza chains but recently, as prices have steadily risen - and boy have they risen! - the quality seems to have taken a downhill drive to match. My companion on this occasion was a vegetarian and, as such, tends - much to my chagrin - to be rather ‘conservative’ in his choice of eateries. Ultimately, he faced the delights of a ‘Romana Marguerita’ and I, hoping for at least a modicum of meat, went for a ‘Classic Sloppy Guiseppe’. “Inedible,” he described his offering while I tried to find much in the way of any topping on my choice. To add insult to injury both were already nearly cold - typical of Pizza Express who serve their food on cold plates, an absolute no-no for a food that is essentially prone to going losing heat in short order anyway - and my pizza base was stodgy and undercooked. Desserts were a redeeming factor personally but, after a main course of poorly-flavoured cardboard, not even a couple of glasses over over-priced plonk allowed me to come away without vowing to leave this review.

Pizzas buenas y a precio razonable para comer en el local o bien para llevar. Una buena opción a la hora de comer mientras vas de un sitio y a otro.

Two of us walked in to this branch of Pizza Express and were made to feel unwelcome from begining to end. There was one lady infront of us paying her bill, when she was finished being served the waiter looked at us, didn't say a word then walked away. There were several empty tables and staff milling about but we were constantly ignored. When one waiter walked by us again we asked if we could be seated, then called out "excuse me can we be seated please" when he started to walk away from us. He lead us to a table, then to another table, then left us. No one returned to take a drink order and all the staff seem trained to avoid eye contact so we had to catch a waitress as she passed us delivering an order for a table next to us. We said we wanted to order and she said that she didn't understand us as she didn't speak English and she would get someone else. It did sound like English she spoke when she delivered the next tables pizza... but whatever. Another waiter turned up and we said we wanted to order and they went and got the guy that seated us. We placed our order for drinks and pizza and I asked for no ice in my coke. When the drinks came he was really odd and said to me, was lemon still ok, he put lemon in the glass and was that still ok? I said yes thank you then he was really sarcastic to my friend and said, I gave you ice as you didn't bother telling me your preferance, then he flounced off. Apparently asking for no ice in your glass is a major thing in this restaurant, I didn't realise that I was being picky but our waiter obviously did as he acted rather rude and sarcastic and made us feel uncomfortable.I ordered a Pollo ad Astra which came out very fast but was luke warm. There was very little meat on the pizza compared to other times I've had this in other branches. We then had another long wait as we had to ask several times for the bill.The table next to us also had a long wait in paying their bill. There were four ladies who split their bill on their cards. Three of them managed to pay then the waiter walked off and it took them ages to find someone to come and finish the payment. The waitress who apprently spoke no English, fetched their waiter who did a little dance while he handed over the card reader to the lady.We sat watching this while waiting for our bill, which took about 15 minutes to arrive.I'd never go back to this Pizza Express. I quite like going to chain restaurants as you normally know what you're going to get so it's a safe bet if you're really hungry and not in the mood to take a chance on somewhere you've never been before. Pizza Express is normally good value for money and they are comfortable places. This branch seem to resent their customers. I've never been anywhere before where you were made to feel so unwelcome.

Don't really go to chain pizza places, but came here as I had a voucher offer for a bottle of Prosecco. Came here last Sunday evening. Really surprised that it wasn't full (Euro finals perhaps?). We were welcomed by a friendly waitress from Italy. Her service throughout was impeccable. I liked the décor here, it had a bistro look to it. Pizzas were ok. Have to say that the thin crust was much nicer than the classic one and the tomato topping was tasty. Overall, better than expected and would visit again.

I was a little disappointed by the size of my macaroni cheese (which was offered as a starter OR main course). I definitely felt it could have been larger, to match the size the size of the penne dish. The food tasted great but I was left hungry due to the tiny portion.Good for dining on a budget if you have a discount code! (Easily available online)

We came in after seeing a show, and the service was quick and the food was tasty. The waitress who served our table was very polite and friendly, but obviously rushed off her feet. I used a deal with NUS Extra which she had never heard of, and had to wait at least 20 minutes for her to find the manager to check the deal was valid. After finally getting the okay for the deal, she then gave us the wrong receipt and had to spend a further 10 minutes re-printing our bill. It resulted in the manager serving us when I paid. Overall, a decent place but the staff need to be more informed and aware of current deals as this would have saved a lot of time and embarrassment.

We reserved a table for 5.45pm as we had a theatre booking and needed to leave by 7pm. We needn't of booked as there were plenty of empty tables. We ordered our starters as soon as we arrived and by 6.30pm they still hadn't arrived even after asking where they were at 6.15pm. When they finally arrived we were still missing one starter and after asking where it was it became apparent that we weren't going to get it as the waiter had forgotten to order it. The waiter could have helped himself by actually writing down our order, he tried to memorise it all and failed! The mains arrived at 6.55pm (1 hour, 10 mins after we arrived) my lasagna was only warm and I didn't have time to finish it, though to be honest I was so wound up by this time that I'd lost my appetite. I've visited many PE restaurants and never had a problem, this restaurant was an absolute shambles!

Clean and welcoming staff attentive, received my American hot pizza without pepperoni! Quickly sorted

We had pre-booked for an early Saturday evening but a booking was not required, the restaurant was quiet but while dining got busier. This location has two floors with the toilets on the first floor; we were seated on the ground floor.The staff were friendly and efficient with a good service, even as they got busier.We both enjoyed all the food and the pizzas were better at this location compared to another Pizza Express location we have been too.

The partner and I visited here for a bite to eat before catching our train! Upon arrivals I dashed upstairs to use the toilets and my partner waited to be seated, when I came back down he was seated but told me he had only just been seated and it took a while for anyone to notice him, this was a sign of things to come. We were seated on the bar along the window which was nice so we could do a bit of people watching. It took a really long time for anyone to take our order but once taken the food was out really quickly, the partner disappointed they didn't have any Mayo! We both really enjoyed our pizzas and thought they were very yummy! We then had to endure a long wait for our plates to be taken away and the bill to arrive, we felt rather neglected, I think if it wasn't for the fact that we had a voucher code discount we would have asked for money off the bill as we were in the so much longer than necessary! We will only return if we have a discount offer as this will make up for the poor service.

Having experienced a last minute disappointment at another chain of restaurants due to undeclared lack of access, this branch of Pizza Express came to the rescue. Despite a note on their bookings schedule saying not to take any further bookings, this staff member allowed me to not only book, but also select the table to best suit our needs (one of our party is dependant on a motorised wheel chair). Added to that, the service and the food was fab. We enjoyed a lovely meal prior to my son's birthday trip to the theatre so thanks to Pizza Express for coming to the rescue.

We ate here as a family of four. They accept a taste card which combined with the kids piccolo menu we had a great value meal in a sensational location. There was a great buzz with the restaurant, and the service was excellent. The mains took a hike to arrive but it was busy and it meant soaking up the atmosphere and taking the weight off our feet. This is their flagship restaurant and it lives up to its name.

Was travelling through the crowded streets of Leicester Square in the rain when I called in here with my wife and 2 small children. it was lunch time and it was relatively empty. My kids were playing and crying due to being tired, hungry, wet and cold. We ordered 2 child size pasta dishes and 2 adult sized pizzas. I ordered the Sloppy Giusppe and my misses ordered a more spicy pizza. Food was delicious, well cooked and well prepared, waiting time was next to none and very resonably priced, considering you are in an expensive part of London. But the thing that stands out the most is the service. Got served by a waitress who was outstanding. She was so friendly, efficient and patient with my little boy who was screaming his head off and refusing to eat, she bought a whimsical tone to his tantrum, offering him a little extra cheese on his pasta to entice him to eat up. The only regret is I did not take this lady's name as it was truly world class service!

This is one of the better PE restaurants we have visited. It has a superb location, we sat upstairs and watched the world go by as we ate. They accepted a taste card which was an additional bonus. We needed somewhere close to Leicester square and with transport to euston being quick and easy so we could eat before returning to the train station. This ticked all the boxes. The staff were very friendly and we will visit this again next time we are in London.

This chain has some of the best pizza in London. It's thin and crispy, just like how the Italians make it. Can be a bit pricey, but to keep costs down go for the classic pizzas instead of the Romanas - it looks like less food but is slightly doughier and tastier.

We needed somewhere to eat after a late night checking out London and stopped in to Pizza Express near Leicester Square tube station. We ordered the Pollo Salad and Leggera Pollo ad Astra pizza (with centre cut out and filled with salad). It was perfect for what we needed. Service was fast and friendly and the meals were light enough for close to midnight and served fresh, hot and in good portion sizes. Price was even better - 20% off if you had the right free city map with discount codes on it.Recognising Pizza Express is a chain and we wouldn't normally choose a chain restaurant as our first choice, we were pleasantly surprised and would happily eat here again and can recommend for those in the area Leicester Square / Covent Garden area.

I love Pizza Express. Normally guaranteed fast service and a fail safe selection of great pizzas. Not this time. Visited the PE in High Holborn, London. Service was slow, staff chatting amongst themselves even though it was clear we'd finished and were waiting to order the next course/pay the bill. Pizza was both burned (and they had tried to cut off the worst of the burnt bits) and cold, not an easy combo. Pains me to say it (because I really do love pizza express), but this was one of the worst meals I've ever had. :(

We have visited several Pizza Express outlets, and this one did NOT measure up. The salads were limp and the Mozzarella tough. The pizza was undercooked and had to be sent back for reheating. There was 1 (one) bottle of olive oil in the restaurant which had to be passed among the patrons - remember that this is supposedly an ITALIAN restaurant.
