This was a first time visit after a West End Show. The concept is great. You can chose from a buffet of Tapas and pay afterwards. On every plate is a stick. As I understood the price for every plate is the same. 1 stick equals 1 dish which you have to pay at the end. They have savoury dishes, meat, fish and sweet desserts. Good selection of wine and other drinks. They also have Estrella Galicia on tap which is great for beer drinker. No pints though. People are lovey in there. Perfect for plenty of occasions. We will be back for sure.

The atmosphere of this restaurant was so positive. All of the staff were extremely friendly. This is a self serve tapas, where you're on the honor system. You just keep your flags from the dish and turn them in at the end of your meal. Booths are TINY in the front but I managed to hop in and out without falling!!! Food was excellent.

Voy a volver a visitar.

Traveling through London for a couple days, my friend and I happened upon this very fun and friendly spot. We found the food to be good, the people to be great and the atmosphere to be amazing! It is a small spot "or from what we saw" but the energy of the people that worked there as well as the vibe of the customers was amazing. My fav was the garlic and oil olives but that's a personal thing... LOL The food is tapas and for the Americans, it's something we are not used to "the honor system" hopefully everyone will do right by these boys because they are not only cute but deserve your respect! Cheers and best of luck :)

We happened across this amazing restaurant last night and would like to share with others our experience which was, in short, outstanding. The food (generous self-serve tapas, served on an open bar) was richly flavorful and beautifully displayed. Although we had originally planned to stop in for a glass of wine and a bowl of olives, we were so tempted by the array of creative and perfectly constructed tapas that we made a meal of them. Scott, the manager, made us feel very welcome. He’s clearly an experienced and professional restauranteur and takes great pride in his restaurant. We’ll be back there on our next trip to London.

A group of 4 of us came here 2 weeks ago on a Sunday - £33 for unlimited pinxtos and unlimited cava. Very friendly service making us feel very welcome, and said we could just start helping ourselves whenever we were ready. They brought over 2 bottles of cava to begin with, and just said to let them know when we needed more. All of the food was delicious, and a good mix of hot and cold food, as well as deserts. New food kept on coming out as well which meant there was a great selection. We finished the 2 bottles of cava and they brought us another 2 (they have 3 different cavas to choose from as well which is good). Our allotted 2 hours passed and they didn't ask us to leave - we had stopped eating but we were free to finish our drinks and carry on chatting which was great (this may change if it was very busy but when we went it wasn't too bad so they didn't need the table back).I've been to other bottomless brunches where they only serve alcohol by the glass and are very slow, but this place had great service and were very generous with everything - definitely worth going to!!

I can't get off the fence about this place - I both loved and disliked it in equal measure. It all depends on your take on how much you like the hustle bustle of the tapas experience. The dishes here were pretty nice for the most part. I particularly like ham bread and cheese so was really appreciative of the lovely bites of jamon and quail egg, the melted cheese delights and also found the croquettes nice. But I did find it a bit samey after a few and even though I tried around 7 or 8 different plates I didn't feel like I'd had anything that particularly stood out as a 'wow' dish. It was nice food and as I mentioned earlier, if you understand that you're not going for a quiet sit down meal but rather a noisy atmosphere where you have to keep getting up to return to the bar for more food, then it's ok.Also remember that this is the spirit of genuine Spanish tapas so beware if you have particular dietary needs. My wife is gluten free and doesn't like cheese so about 80% of the dishes were a no-go. Admittedly it was my fault for dragging her here because I wanted to try it out but I thought there would be more seafood plates that she could have eaten. In Madrid I saw a lot of prawn and mussel tapas dishes but our visit here was sadly lacking. The dishes rotate a lot through the evening so we may have mistimed our visit. Anyhow, what seafood there was on when we were there was breaded/battered - unfortunately no good for her. Pricing wasn't too extortionate but a bill of £60+ (including wine) had only really satisfied one of us. The fussy wife was left still hungry!A tale of two appetites on this occasion; I was happy with some of my favourite things to eat - Spanish charcuterie and cheese. But as an overall eating experience, I won't be rushing into a place like this again - not with the wife anyway!

We came upon this place on a wander through Carnaby Street and thought we'd have a late afternoon snack to keep us going before a later dinner. We were seated outside by the extremely friendly and helpful staff member. It wasn't a great day to dine al fresco but the patio heater kept us nice and cosy! As I said, this was a pre-dinner snack. We ended up having two pieces of tapas each, one short straw at £2.95 approx and one long straw at £3.95 approx. The tapas were ok, quite tasty but not the prettiest I've ever seen, or the largest selection. I ordered a sangria, as did my husband who changed his order from a beer but my daughter just had a soft drink. We enjoyed our visit but were a bit shocked by the bill, just under £50 for our pre-dinner "snack, not including the tip. The sangrias alone had cost .£10 each! Other reviews mention a set price deal which includes beverages. I think we must've visited outwith the time as there was no mention of it but it seems to me that'd be the way to go to get best value.

The food is pinxtos- tiny tapas. You help yourself to little morsels buffet style and keep the picks to tally up the prices. Every single thing we tried was delicious. The food was fresh and staff continuously replenished the trays. The ricotta stuffed deep fried olives were epic. The meatballs were flavourful. The churros were crunchy and delicious. I cannot fault the food at all. The staff were lovely. Very helpful but without being overbearing. My only slight negative is that the toilets were slightly dingy and dirty and could do with some more maintenance. I do like a nice toilet and did feel quite "studenty" as I spent a penny. If you choose to go for the deal eat as much as you like within the limit of one hour. You can have great food and then good valu to if you eat alot. But if you like us just want a in between meal not to ruin your appetitte before dinner, you will find this VERY expensive and the check may be a surprise not in a good way when they count the sticks. The tapas had some nice bits to it, the cheesy fried balls were great, but the rest of it was pretty average. The cocktails were really tasty, especially the English Garden. The service ruined it completely though. They have a nice style where you help yourself to the tapas bits you want and pay based on the sticks that are left when finished, my kind of thing. But we had to get out own cutlery and had to go to the bar to order more drinks. The staffs attitude was pretty bad and they added a 12.5% optional tip on. That's fair enough and we expected it in London, but when we asked to remove it so we could give a cash tip, the server asked why and we explained our reasons behind it. We shouldn't be asked that question and found it rude, the gratuity is optional, I shouldn't have to explain it to you in a restaurant where you serve the food yourself.

Christmas Eve lunch and some difficulties as the usual favourite places were shot however this small Tapas joint was open and very delightful it was to. Multiple tasty snacks delivered in a very relaxed atmosphere enjoyed greatly by all the family. It was quite pricey (£120 for four including only two glasses of wine) but there is a much better weekday deal and after all it was Christmas Eve. Go again any time

Went to the Bateman street pix for a quick meal before a show. Food is really good, presented on a bar and you go and help yourself as often as you want. All dishes have a wooden skewer in and the size of the skewer signifies the cost. At the end of the meal they count up your skewers and present you with the bill. We were both full and the food bill was about £35 which we thought was very reasonable. Drinks are a bit expensive, cheapest wine is £20 a bottle and the one on offer at that price doesn't warrant a price that high. Beers were about £4.50 which seems standard for the area. Worth a visit but book a table as it was packed by 6.30 and they were turning walk ins away.

Really excellent food and atmosphere for an unexpected find near the Shaftesbury Theatre in London. Great variety of Pintxos, and lots with no bread so easy to choose a varied and balanced selection. The vintage cava was excellent and flavours wonderful. Would definitely visit again. Shame we haven't got Pintxos in Cambridge.

I went to Pix with 4 of my colleagues, thinking that we would get good food without spending too much money. The place is really cool, I loved the fact that you could just take your plate and help yourself with tapas.Food was good, although not the best tapas I had in London, but definitely decent. Now, about what we paid... we ended up with a bill of £200. Ok we got 1 bottle of cava et 1 jug of sangria, which turned out to be £54 in total. That is still £146 of food (for tapas!) including a 12.5% service charge. I'm sorry but making customers pay such a high service charge for only bringing your drinks to your table is outrageous and so cheeky.I would have gladly gone back to Pix as I think the place is lovely and has a great location. But I think I paid too much for what I got and therefore will not be back.

New style of tapas to me. Basque region, all prepared freshly and laid out in the open for you to pick and choose. Large skewers and small skewers left after eating determine the size of the bill. Value is in the £33 all you can eat and drink offer (cava). At £5 a glass of wine you quickly nudge this with a 4/5 dishes and a few beers.Excellent location and very 'current' being past 50 we were by far the eldest but I covered myself by having a beard and wearing no socks. + Neal street , buzzing and competitive . You won't survive unless you are good.+ excellent mix of ingredients and superb bread + hot selection as well. All self service. - service is a bit eclectic but they get there in the end- sometimes dishes take a while to be replenished , we never did get the patatas bravas !- it's a bit cramped but it's buzzing !

My friend booked this poky little venue for her birthday and made a point of finding out about dietary requirements before confirming the booking. She was reassured that everyone could be catered for and that vegan food was no problem. When we arrived at this small dark venue we were given a different story. I introduced myself to the staff and advised that I was the vegan to the response "oh, this is a Spanish restaurant", like I didn't know that already! I was a bit taken aback and said that my friend had made a booking which included a vegan guest. He merely handed me a grubby piece of laminated paper with allergen advice on it. Needless to say the only thing on the menu I could eat were olives... When I handed it back he was less than helpful and asked what I wanted to drink as he ran through how much Spaniards like cheese and meat!! (I've eaten in many Spanish restaurants as a vegan). I walked away and my friend later queried with the waiter what had happened because she had spoken with them about the requirement at the time of booking. The response was "I don't know who you spoke with" and when she wasn't willing to leave it at that, he came over to ask me if there was anything they could make for me. It was too little too late because everyone else was well into their food and I would have expected that approach when I spoke with him on arrival. It was a seriously poor effort for a food establishment in London in 2016. None of the other guests raved about their food, with criticism of the desserts, cheese dishes and drinks.

Great little find whilst shopping in Carnaby St. Different from the rest, you help yourself to various tapas whilst enjoying a nice bottle of wine! The food is changed regularly and to can help yourself as often as you like. The staff are lovely and friendly, and the place itself is quirky but cosy. A perfect stop off. Only downside is that it could do with a few more gluten free options, but as a coeliac myself I would still definitely go back! Think you should open one in Brighton!

Great idea! I always struggle with tapas bars because you never really know what you will get, so this was great! You sit and pick the tapas you want (hot or cold) and get it to your table. There are 2 different price catagories (long/short stick) which will be counted at the end for the bill. The tapas where changed frequently and there were always fresh ones coming! We wanted to try almost everything, but that would have been kind of expensive. They were really good! Would definetely go there again, but not for a whole dinner. :)

Popped in here with a girlfriend . Great system where you just pick your own tapas and bring it back to your table . You pay for the sticks ! We had a very exceptable bottle of the house red and two sangrias . The sangrias are quite strong so beware ! They made me feel quite drunk ! Great atmosphere , will return for their bottomless cava deal . Staff are lovely , service excellent . Couldn't fault them

This little tapas place is incredible. You get seated and watch various tapas, each more delicious than the other, be served on top of the bar - then you help yourself to whatever catches your eye. I like being able to see my food before ordering so it's a real visual treat, the presentation is incredible and the taste is second to none. Each piece of tapas has a skewer in it - some longer, some shorter (the length depends on the price) - simply put them into a jar on your table once done eating, take them up to the till, where they will get counted. The wine and cocktail list is very impressive, too. We will definitely be back x

Great concept: You pick the tapas you want (the place has a wide choice of varied dishes) and pay for each item consumed; since you pick them up yourselves there is no waiting involved and it is therefore particularly convenient when short on time; the tapas were tasty and the quality was decent (though not revolutionary); the place itself is cozy and the staff was friendly; seating was not very comfortable and could be improved; relatively pricey considering the more bar type atmosphere.

Had a great lunch on BH Sunday, it's small with bar stools around the outside with benches out the back. You can pay as you go or have a set deal, which we went for. £33 each includes all you can eat Tapas & unlimited Cava. The food is laid out at the bar and you go up to help yourself to whatever takes your fancy hot & cold and desserts. We had 1 bottle of Prosecco 11%, worth £25 and 1 bottle of Rose Cava 11.5% worth £30 and lots of food. The food comes on wooden sticks that you collect at the end and pay for each stick if you pay as you go. We counted at least 16 so we really got our money's worth on the deal. You have a time slot of 1.5hrs.

Great variety of tapas, they weren't slow with the bottles of Cava either. The tapas dishes are constantly replenished although the more delicious varieties did run out, we started at 2.30 so maybe that was why. Lovely friendly staff, had a great time but feel that we didn't get £33 pounds worth.

Visited for the Sunday unlimited tapas for £33 which includes bottomless cava, at the Portobello branch. The set up is that there is a selection of freshly prepared & replenished tapas dishes laid out on a counter & you simply take your plate up and help yourself as many times as you like (90 min limit though!)The dishes aren't as varied as what you would get in a normal tapas restaurant set-up, but that is of course to be expected for a deal like this. We tried a lovely sweet potato & spinach tortilla, meatballs, patatas bravas, cod croquettes Spanish tortilla, walnut & goats cheese salad, some lovely smoked salmon, anchovy & creamy dressing on a garlic bread, calamari a white chocolate & rasperry dessert and a chocolate ganache with biscotti to name a few of the dishes on offer...The restaurant was nice and dimly lit, cool relaxed decor and the staff were great. We felt very relaxed & welcome, and would definitely go back. It was a great chilled early evening Sunday dinner

Out I went, for a thoroughly intense knees-up with Janto, Chunger and Big Mervyn. After drowning our sorrows with Big Merv’s inheritance from his deid Mam, and ingesting some lighter fluid avec workerman’s glue, we headed to The Joker for a knees up. First in, Chunger got in the pints which were all exceedingly tasty and helped wash down the acrid tang of glue at the back of my throat. It was only after Janto repeatedly and brazenly kept impersonating a couple on a date next to us, by doing the young man’s lovely, soft posh accent that things really got funny. ‘WHAT IS SO FUNNY?’ He boomed. ‘Please let’s just leave, these men are savages and I think they’re on something, they’re out of their heads!’ said his date. We laughed some more and Merv said, too right, we’re out of our heads on good times, and also a heavy dose of my deid Ma’s dosh. ‘You sick freaks’ intoned the gent. ‘You think you’re so funny!’ It was then that Chunger stood up and roared with the strength of a hurricane into his own pint glass - ‘I AM TRYING TO HAVE A LAUGH. MY FATHER WAS NOT VERY NICE TO ME’ We fell about the floor laughing and ordering more pints which flowed as fast as the beautiful currents of the Arno. Things became decidedly ugly when I took a gulp of the young gent’s gravy which was on his plate, but Big Mervyn settled accounts by leaning on the man’s shoulder and whispering a few sweet nothings. Overall, I had a cracking night and the craic was 90 as we Ho Ho Ho’d all the way home with the young couple’s umbrella which they very kindly gave to us, as well as £50, which was very generous.
