Do not waste your money here. There are far better places to eat along the same street. Service was appalling. Not friendly and not efficient in the least. Left with dirty plates for ages, wasn’t asked if we wanted a third course, just presented with the bill. Food was ok, nothing special. Service was the worst part. Don’t bother with this place.

Overall it was just a very lack luster visit. Overall the restaurant was nice, bright and had a warm vibe. We came for Sunday lunch & had the sharing roast. Being fair to the chefs it was very tasty, that is however without some drawbacks. I’ll start with the service. After reading other reviews I was somewhat expecting to be a little disappointed on this front but went with an open mind - you never know quite what other people’s experiences/demands were and whether the review was reasonable. Safe to say the waiting staff were shocking. There was three tables in at the same time as us but yet service was a snails pace. When our platter was delivered it took another few minutes to receive plates - all whilst the food was going cold. This leads into the food, on the flavour side it was great, meats were cooked to perfection and the sides were great! However it seemed that the meat had been sat for ages and was room temperature at best with other sides being piping hot. Not the end of the world and the food overall was great. One positive on the service side, when we asked for some extra sides they went above and beyond to over provide more than we could need. This was an option mentioned when ordered which is great, however took nigh on the whole meal for the extra sides to arrive by which time we’d pretty much finished. That being said they didn’t skimp at all. All in all the food was decent & very good value for money. If you can look past the slightly lack lustre service you are getting a great value meal in a popular spot. I would return - yes if I was wanting a roast and I was in the area but I wouldn’t come here specially for it.

Went for dinner here as it was listed as being ‘very festive’ in an article I read. The dining room was small and cosy, the Xmas decorations were ok. The room has a nice view onto the Covent Garden Xmas tree. Service wasn’t great, we waited a long time for starters even though they were both cold and didn’t need cooking. Then our mains came before the starter plates had been removed. The food was tasty but nothing special. There are so many places to eat in this part of London, I wouldn’t return here.

We came with my family for my wife's birthday and they all loved it. Such lovely food by the Chefs, great table overlooking Covent Garden and brilliant friendly service from the lovely staff. We will be back regularly.

Shocking. Absolute ineptitude. Terrible service and below average, over priced food. Almost raw poached egg on the asparagus. Over seasoned main course. Main course arrived and we had no cutlery, waiter went to get some and didn’t come back! We got it from a different table. Living in Covent Garden we like to try different places….but stay away from here.

Bears no relation to anything I've read. On a Sunday at least, it's fairly basic pub grub, with dodgy yorkshire puddings at that.

Le cadre est sympa et atypique, plusieurs restaurants partagent le même espace le coin assez chic. La carte est très British et c’est pas mauvais. Mais une souris a traversé la salle ?

Wanted a Sunday lunch for my grandchildren after spending a few days in London. Had a wonderful day and booked for 6:30. Had to wait and repeat the drinks order. Choice of chicken or beef for dinner. We all opted for beef. Waited and waited, trying to keep 2 children happy who by this time were very hungry. The food arrived .............................. The children went straight for the roast potatoes but couldn't cut them. I tried and to my shock, I couldn't cut them either. They were rock-hard and had clearly been deep-fried over and over again. It was impossible. I resorted to picking up one with my fingers to take a bite. I admit not very ladylike but it was the only thing I could think of. You have guessed it. I couldn't even bite it it was too hard and by this time cold and greasy. The veg came so trying to get the children to eat some vegetables would be the best option so I thought. Wrong green French beans covered in cold oil it was awful. The Yorkshire pudding must be OK I thought until my granddaughter asked why it is burnt Grandma. It was huge and quite dark in colour but I tried it! She was right it tasted burnt. I didn't even try a second mouthful of beef, the first said it all, it was so tough. At this stage, we just wanted to get out of there. So we did and ended up in McDonalds before taking the children back to the hotel. I should, however, apologize that when attempting to cut a roast potato, that failed miserably, it shot off the plate onto the floor. I am sure you would have found it at some point. What a waste of over £80.

Was in the area and just wanted a simple breakfast before heading back. Took the bullet and ordered a very very expensive omelette. When it came out was very disappointed by the portion size – a couple of mouthfuls and i was practically finished. It tasted ok. What prompted to write this review was the slight rudeness of the staff, paid up and not even a 'thank you' and they just walked away. I got up and left and again not even a word of thank you when passing one of the members of staff that served me. Wow, astonished! Maybe some training might help – in my mind service is everything even when food is not that great! Awful experience.

Such a lovely dining room looking over the hustle & bustle of Covent Garden. It felt like an oasis. Food was delicious - fresh, tasty, well thought out & excuted. Would return in a heartbeat.

We ate upstairs in the bistro. Great service and overall good food. The chicken terrine, poached pear and sticky toffee pudding were exceptional. The beef & bone marrow pie was disappointing and it was a pool of oil inside - tasted like pure fat which was really off-putting.

So excited as the website and menu look great. Arrived to a warm welcome to be told restaurant on higher floor closed due to “fumigation”? Led to a Ground floor back table with no view of piazza in a cafe? Lacked a vibrant atmosphere and vibe. What a shame as was looking forward to it but left.

With the show booked, a quick search for pre-show dinner locations found this wonder. Table booked and attentively asked for which show and start time so they could suggest best time for us to book - done. What a meal - starter and mains were delicious accompanied by excellent wine and friendly service. Not doubt we will book again for next show in town

Visited on Saturday evening. We were in the upstairs restaurant which was not overly busy. The food we had was tasty . However we were disappointed for two reasons. Firstly not all the main courses were bought to the table at the same time. As the food was going cold 2 of us had to start eating. After 10 minutes we had to remind the wait staff that we were short of 2 meals. They were bought to the table immediately so must have been waiting to be bought out. Secondly one of the beef and marrow pies only had 2 pieces of meat in it, the rest of the filling was mushrooms so this was not good value at £25 per pie. The other pie had plenty of meat so an issue with portion and quality control. Overall therefore not somewhere we will visit again or recommend to others.
