A waste of money. £3.30 for a tea in a disposable cup. Staff looked wildly unhappy. And the Nevis range wonder why they don’t make enough money??

This place needs to be closed it is an embarrassment to Nevis Range and all the fine facilities available. Limited food available at a ridiculously high cost , this was compounded by the fact we had To pay £5 to get out of the the car park. No tables cleaned - staff really at odds how to run a restaurant. We know why this place was quiet because everyone has already sussed this place out. Owners/Management need to sort this place and benefit from the Gold Mine it should be.

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, originally from fort William thought this would be a nice place to go for coffee with family and perhaps a breakfast roll. No menu and breakfast finished at 11.00. No freshly made sandwiches, soup, only items were haggis or black pudding panini, (strange option) sausage rolls (expensive) , let’s just say not appetising at all, selection of cakes but again didn’t look fresh. Ended up just having a coffee which took ages, was seated and then they shouted when it was ready. It was weak and in a paper cup, tables were filthy and not once did I see anyone cleaning. So disappointing and such a waste of what could be a very successful business!

Popped into the Pinemarten after an hours walk round the forest. Ordered the macaroni, Fanta and a Redbull. Macaroni was gorgeous and so filling. Not sure why reviews are saying food wa stale, mine was lovely. Staff kept walking around and looking at me (I was round the corner) so felt a bit rushed. Other than that, servers were lovely and the gentleman gave me a discount as I didn’t want chips. Still quite costly but happy to pay it as I was starving and it was a lovely atmosphere in the cafe. It’s always expensive in the highlands at tourist spots!! Nice people, filling food, great spot.

Rode here from Fort William to hit the trails but before getting our shred on though we should grab a bit to eat. Won't be doing that again at this cafe. No menu just the food they had under a hat lamp, a great lamp for flips sake! What is this, a 1980's motorway service station!? Dried out unappetising offerings and ridiculous pricing made me want to flip all the tables over and run out screaming. Unfortunately this is the only choice of food available and with hungry boys we decided on hotdogs only for them to be served in stale buns! Asked for fresh ones, this freaked it the staff as it meant defrosting some new plastic bagged rolls, oh dear me. Then they got the order wrong and put onions on all the dogs. Jeepers, this place, even the music's bad. We, as customers deserve better. Take your own food if you can

Dropped in for a quick bite to eat after parkrun - big mistake. Worst breakfast rolls we’ve ever eaten… roll was stale, no butter, two small COLD sausages and served by miserable employee. £4.25 per roll would have been acceptable if they had been edible… however plain hot chocolates priced at £4.50 each is absurd. Seen someone else describe eating at this place as a “dire experience” and I couldn’t agree more.

Arrived at 11:25 with a small baby, toddler and dog. Sat down and took coats etc off, and began to look at menu. We were the only people in the cafe. Server came over and then informed us that the kitchen was closed between 11:30-12, to allow the chefs to have a break, so we would not be able to order until 12. We were offered no other options (i.e. drink/coffee and cake etc). When we asked where the closure was displayed to advise customers, the server indicated to the menu, which said in a number of places ‘open all day’ ‘served all day’ ‘open 9-5’ which obviously contradicted what was being said by server. At this point, we decided to leave before we would be charged for the car park. We understand giving the chefs a break during the busy season. However, we were the only people in the cafe at the time and on a day when the gondolas were off, so the cafe was unlikely to quickly become busy. Or the server could have spoken to us when we first came in. Or the closing times of the kitchen could have been displayed somewhere. Won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend. Try one of the small, independent cafes close by.

Whilst mountain biking at the Nevis Range we stopped at The Pinemartan Cafe for lunch to take away. The atmosphere is good and the presentation of the cafe is really nice. Unfortunately the prices of the prepacked sandwiches are astronomical, as you can see in the photos for a simple pickle and cheese sandwich. The restaurant at the top of the hill is much better value but again you will need to pay for a gondola ticket.

Shockingly bad! We’d booked tickets for the gondola and decided to start the day with breakfast before we headed up the mountain. Checked out the menu online and it looked great for our 3 kids, decent choice and reasonably priced. Arrived at 9.30am and asked for the food menu only to be told by two miserable looking members of the team whilst pointing at the most sorry, dried looking scrambled eggs, haggis and one sausage “that’s all we got, we’re not serving the usual menu due to the weekend event that just taken place” I appreciate that teams are stretched and that sometimes things have to change BUT CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE AND TRAIN YOUR TEAM! No happy ending as we then paid £17 for the last 4 croissants they had as we didn’t feel like driving back down to Fort William to get food. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

The food was very disappointing. Even the teenager wouldn't finish the burger! In his words, 'how do get a burger so wrong'. A simply Jacket potato with cheese and beens cost £8.50 - rather expensive and this was only an average sized potato. It is a captive market but the quality of the food was terrible and expensive. AVOID! Hope they sort this out before the UCI World Champs next August.

After a full day, of the weather finally being perfect enough to use the Gondola to explore the new Blue Doon MTB trail with the family, it was so disappointing to realise that the cafe shuts so early! Only half of our group were off the mountain by 4pm and suddenly to be told we were only just in time... some cake and drinks were hastily bought, something promised to the younger members of our group for riding so well, but actually not enough for the whole group as the youngest had not got to the cafe earlier as we had assumed. With the sun shining and the gondola still taking people to the top when it had been closed all week, surely they would want to be taking people's money but not so. The cake we had been able to buy, that was shared between us, was lovely! As was the tea and the bottles of local ale. But we really would like to understand the reasoning of closing so early! Is it a Scottish thing as we nearly missed the cafe at Wolftrax also... MTB riders look forward to a treat at the end of a ride - why deny those that make the most of their day?

Absolutely shockingly poor quality of food. Dried sausage, egg and bacon that's been sitting on the hot plate far too long. Came with dry rolls. All of this (and a ginger beer and apple juice) for almost £14! More experienced staff on the till would see that the food was so dry. I love the whole area but the quality of the food and the cost was shocking.

We chose this cafe especially because it looked good on the internet. And the food was nice BUT We were shocked that we had to pat £4.50 parking on top of the coffee/sandwich that we bought. The way it works is this: - The car park is £4.50 for the day - Whilst there you can use the Nevis Range facilities (for which you have to pay) So all we wanted was a coffee and a sandwich, we ate inside (to cold and misty outside) and were there less than an hour. and got stung for £4.50 parking fee. So BEWARE I would never go there again just for the cafe - there are many other good cafes nearby in/near Fort William.

We visited the Nevis range for my husband to spend some time mountain biking. We arrived on the 15th of July around lunch time and went straight into the pinemarten for lunch. One server was pleasant, but the others were just plain rude and treated you as though you were a nuisance and they were doing you a favour. The food was the worst I’ve ever had. We ordered hot dogs and chips and to say they were freezing cold is an understatement. The hot dogs had a funny taste and were chewy. My husband went back to the counter to ask for salt and for the food to be made again as they were inedible, but he was completely ignored the whole time and the servers were completely unapproachable to say the least. He gave up and we ate some of the “meal” and left. We both regretted trying to stomach it as we didn’t feel well a few hours later. Honestly was just a terrible experience through and through. Will NEVER go back again

Although the food is good, the service is always disappointing. We got there at 2:45, got a table, looked at the lovely menus and decided what we wanted - the whole time, the staff were watching. Got up to the counter and placed our order, only to be told that the stopped food (apart from what was left on the hot counter) between 2:30 and 3:00 - it was 2:50 at this point our order had been for a sandwich, and x2 chips and beans. I don’t know why a sandwich was to hard to make, or why chips could be done but not beans. Throughout the staff never smiled once and didn’t seem phased that the still had menus out on every table suggesting they were still serving their full range of food.

Went to the bar and ordered our coffees and cakes. The attitude of the staff was terrible. Neither of them said hello or even smiled, extremely dour faced. They carried on having a conversation between themselves and we felt we had put them out by ordering. Coffees were slapped down on the bar and we were not told where to get milk, sugar etc. Once we had located where these things were I asked for some more milk as the jug was almost empty, to which the staff member stood in the middle of the bar with her hand outstretched waiting for me to go to her with the jug. Once the jug was filled it was purposefully placed out of my reach. The attitude of the staff made the whole experience very unpleasant. I would suggest the manager teach their staff some simple manners or get some staff that are suited to the hospitality trade!

After a long walk, me and my mother fancied a bite to eat. After ordering from what can only be described as a surly, rude, fairly tall, blonde waitress, I had my drinks chucked at me, had to ask for a glass and then sat down. When my food arrived, the nachos were littered with extremely spicy jalapeños, even though the surly woman has said it was only cheese on top and there was no mention of said jalapeños on the menu. I ate them anyway, even thought I despise spice and picked out the jalapeños - though there was still a strong spicy taste left. I thought that as the service I reciebed before was so poor, there was no point complaining. As local customers, I am overall VERY unimpressed.

Having driving for 2 hours, with a further 3 to go we stopped here to take in the views on the gondola. Unfortunately the gondolas weren't in operation due to high winds. Instead of just heading into Fort William we stopped at the Pinemarten Cafe.....how we wished we had just driven a further 5 miles down the road. Having waited in a rather disorganised queue the girl taking the order looked a me strangely when I asked for a cheese and onion panini, turns out you can't deviate from the menu, so cheese and ham it was. Then asked for a children's ham sandwich, would think that would be easy but again she had to go and ask if this was ok......I settled on a tuna melt (safe bet as it was on the menu) plus a bowl of chips. I returned to the table with the chips and waited on the rest.First issue, chips weren't that hot however as my three year old was hungry and the queue wasn't getting any smaller (people must have been asking for onion with sandwiches) we settled on the cold chips. Shortly later the girl came over and said they had run out of ham, it was 12:45 and middle of lunch service how can you run out of ham?So was offered egg mayo, tuna or cheese for the children's sandwich. We had hoped we might get cheese and onion as a panini, but nope it was more cheese or tuna.It then all came out.Egg Mayo sandwich, think they forgot it was a children's one I asked for. It was huge, ok not a major issue. However the top slice of bread was stale, as if it had been left under a heat lamp while the paninis were made. So much so my daughter just pushed it away.Paninis were ok, however the crisps on my plate were clearly the last few in the bag and we're all broken, tiny pieces (small hint, just open a new bag). Coffee was ok, nothing special but certainly now worth the price.Overall, I wouldn't go back. In fact I was very disappointed when I discovered there was a burger van round the other side. At least you know what you will get there for your money.

They only usually do kebabs at the weekend but my goodness it is worth the wait. I’ve eaten doner kebabs all over the UK and these are possibly the best I have ever had! They are also lovely people and go out of their way to help customers. Top marks to Jodie, Ryan and their colleagues.
