I've eaten Pilpel falafel pitta for a long time Freshly cooked to order with a good selection of salad. They are still as good as they have always been. If you've not had one and you like Falafel you need to try it. They are much better than many other falafel bars in the area.

Great vibe, great staff and amazing food. It’s a great value for money where you can get top food at a very reasonable price and really quick. Their main asset is the vast amount of products they sell a day, because of this everything is fresh. Love it.

I mostly come here during lunchtime at work. By far the best falafels around. Not very keen on the mixed salads very much. Everything is vinegar-y, pickled or are lemon drizzled over them so it's basically delicious falafels with sour mixed salads. Staffs are friendly and polite but they could not hear you well when ordering as the music is too loud!

This is a vegetarian quick fix but the most delicious one if you like chickpeas. Anyway, we tried the one in the OLd Spitalfield market but the queue was so long. Sat in a stand alone bar and had a drink, watching the queue to see if it would go down but never did. Anyway so we walked over to the Fleet Street one, by this time it was 2.30 and lucky the lunch hour rush had gone down but so had the choices for the side dishes to go with the falafel. This did not matter as, the falafels were great as usual and whatever that was left, it was still all delicious. Such generous portions of falafel and side dishes. It is obvious all fresh on a daily basis as they seem to sell out. Even a carnivore will love this place me thinks. It's quick (as long as you are not stuck in a queue, filling, healthy and tastes great.

So I just got back from walking in the rain to Fleet Street Pipel. It was worth getting completely soaked as the falafel pitta with aubergine was brilliant. Added bonus the Falafel pitta is vegan. I've also been to the Pipel branches in Aldgate and Spitafields market and they are always magnificent. The service at this fleet street branch was also 5 star. A falafel pitta with Aubergiene came to £5.60 which is totally worth it for the quality of food. Pipel is one of the best Falafels in London.

Si estás en la zona, GO GO GO!

Visited here to compare to another falafel takeaway nearby. The food was great, on par with the other restaurant, tasty falafels that were crispy and a bit better than the others I'd had locally but it is soooooo noisy! I was asked to repeat my order twice and after shouting over the counter it was still wrong when I got back to my desk! Also, much like the other place, you are really rushed to order and get frowned upon if you need or want to make a decision. No need for the music to be loud when you have queues of people trying to be heard. That's said, great veggie food and I will certainly try them again

I love this place because the food is so fresh no matter what time you go in, they never run out of ingredients and the warmest staff whip up your falafel box or pitta at lightning speed. The place gets rammed every lunch time, but you never have to wait long and you nearly always get given a free piece of falafel whilst you wait. For just £5.25 you get a huge portion that will fill any belly and there are quite a few sauces and extras to finish it off if you want. The loyalty card is a real bonus because you get a free lunch every 9 or so purchases (be kind enough to pick up your friends' or colleagues' lunch and you can have their stamps)!! It's (small) chain food, but what's not to like? The falafels are perfectly crisp and dry outside and soft inside, the accompanying vegetables are varied and fresh, prices are correct, quantities are plentiful (and they are very ready to give out a little extra falefel if you wait too long or if you are new and are standing around undecided...). Maybe hummus and gaucamole can be improved a little. One characteristic of this chain is that staff are selected/trained to be incredibly kind and pleasant. Looks simple and obvious, but it ain't! Let's hope this philosophy lasts as the chain expands, and in the meanwhile congratulations to the management. Thanks for making London a bit more like NYC in this respect!

Visited here on a Sunday - it was quiet and we were able to grab a stool, but whilst there there was a gentle stream of customers (mostly regulars from what I can gather) grabbing a takeaway. We opted for a white pitta with falafel. The pitta was stuffed to the brim with lots of fresh salad, chilli sauce, gorgeous tahini and hummus. Whilst we were waiting the server gave us a falafel bite dipped in the tahini as a taster. For drinks I had one of their special Israeli canned beverages - apple, and my friend had the strawberry one. Nice change from Diet Coke.Everything was excellent and as I mentioned, extremely fresh - we left full with a bill for 2 coming to just £12. Only thing to mention is that it's cash only, but that's not a huge issue with such low prices. Recommend.

Stopped by the branch at St. Paul's for a take out lunch one day due to the tantalizing smells coming from this place. Ordered the standard falafel in whole meal pita. Being from the Middle East myself I must say the falafel is excellent and authentic. Plenty of salad, crunch, and spice with every bite. Very reasonably priced for lunch in London compared to many other places. Can't wait to go back!

The best falafel I've ever had. Better than anything I've ever had in the Middle East, shame on your maroush. They are also very generous and always give you a falafel while you're waiting and are very polite

I'd never normally pick veggie food, but this is a game changer for me. By far my favourite take out lunch place when I go to London. Falafel is stunning with great salads & wraps too. This is a treasure.

Great service and great food at Pilpel. When they are not busy they will offer you a tasty falafel dipped in tahini to eat whilst you are queuing up to order. It's also excellent value for money.

I am a big falafel fan but not a fan of takeout lunches as I always feel that they really don't offer value for money, especially around London. Having exhausted most of the places around my office over recent weeks I quickly searched 'Falafel near Liverpool St' and found Pilpel. After diving headlong into the furore which is the ordering experience and watching the faster falafel filler I've ever seen I emerge blinking into the daylight with falafel pitta in hand. Knowing the danger that is tahini dip vs. clean shirt I decided to return to my desk to eat it. One bite and I knew it was going to be amazing! It was ram packed full to the brim with some of the tastiest falafel, salad, chillies, onions and sauce and it knocked me sideways. I would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a filling, nutritious, value for money, tasty lunch around London. Just bring cash, because they don't take card and dive in feet first!

Since going out with a veggie i've started eating a lot of veggie food and become somewhat of a connoisseur of falafel. So decided to try Pilpel. Let me start with the fact it's very good, but it's not wow. Mr. Falafel in Shep Bush market is wow, White House (Kosher) in North London is also wow. The actual falafel are quite average. I had one to eat on its own. I'd give that a 3/5. Where the overall experience comes up is the extras. they have lots or variety and don't skimp and they offer wholemeal pitta which is a prerequisite in London. You have to pay for everything which is a not good so my pocket with everything was about £9 (but it had EVERYTHING). If you're in the area i'd say you'll have a good time and you might even think it's the best you've ever tasted. However i'd say the Mr. Fafafel is the best in London by a country mile. They focus on wraps over pockets and everything is included, so ann XL wholemeal wrap with 5 falafel, avocado, feta, mint, sauces etc is only £6.30 which is amazing value. I have to say Pilpel is great but i'm comparing it to better places and with that it falls short.

I have visited various branches of Pilpel over the years and I have never been disappointed. The choice is limited to falafel in a pita or on a platter. The latter is better in my view and comes with a pita (choice of white or brown) anyway. Extra toppings of feta, hard boiled egg or deep fried aubergine can also be ordered but really are not necessary. The basic proposition is a plastic bowl which is spread with hummus, then a choice of salads and pickles is added, then half a dozen freshly fried falafel balls and then topped with optional chilli sauce and tahini. My visit was a lunchtime on a weekday. The place is very popular and the small shop was full of people. Despite a slightly shambolic arrangement of two queues and one till operator, the staff worked a lightening speed and within a few seconds each meal was skillfully assembled. Most diners were taking their falafel away and so I was easily able to get a seat in the window area. What strikes me about this place is just how fresh everything is. Each element is so simple and yet works together so well. Salads include grated carrot, picked red cabbage, shredded white cabbage, raw onions in a dressing, taboule, pickled chilli and picked gherkins. I think they are different each day.The falafel is amazing because is it cooked fresh every few minutes. Is is crunchy on the outside and soft inside, flavored with green herbs. The only possible criticism I could level is that the falafel is not spicy as one would get in Israel, but I suppose the shop is aiming for a broader appeal. It is all delicious and is also great value too. Highly recommended and I'm looking forward to my next visit already.

First time when I went in, there was a long queue as usual but worried what will I get in the rush. The people at the counter are very friendly and helpful. They also give Falafel to try it out.The fragrance of their food suppresses the nearby restaurants flavour during afternoon (near st Pauls).Very good quality, excellent fresh taste.Cant wait to go back.

I love the Pipel stand at Spitalfields market: freshly made, perfectly crunchy falafel, served in a pita with lusciously creamy hummus, a tasty tahini sauce and a large selection of fresh and pickled veg.

If you are bored with Pret and M&S sandwiches and don't fancy ITSU, but still want to stay on the side of healthy then try Pilpel in Spitafields. The falafels are ace and the service is fast and friendly.

Extremely disappointing experience. Have visited a few times and previously enjoyed but this visit will probably be my last. The Sunday Roast was not very flavourful at all however the service was the crux. Honourable mention to ponytail guy who was pleasant until the end where he became very obnoxious and rude as they 'didn't accept card payments' despite having paid previously with card and could see the customer ahead of us paying with a card. Overall, mid-level roast and uncomfortable service, won't be revisiting!

We booked a table at this restaurant online and had all the expected emails (including one a couple of days before asking us to confirm that we were definitely going). However on arrival we discovered that the restaurant had closed and there was now something else in it's place. I was told that the restaurant had closed over a month ago! All their online booking seems still to be in place, including the emails telling me that I was successfully checked in at the restaurant and the one asking for feedback on my experience! Very misleading. Also very disappointing given that we'd travelled a long way and desperately needed Gluten Free food and there was nothing else suitable in the area that we could find. What a disaster!

Fabulous restaurant serving Middle Eastern cuisine with flair! Ate here three times over the course of a long weekend and the food was consistently amazing. Fresh ingredients and imaginative menu. Not extensive but what they do they do really well. Lovely staff and relaxed atmosphere. Loved the grilled chicken, the aubergine salad and the sea bream. My husband’s flat iron steak was one of the best meals he’s ever eaten. Highly recommended.
