A little gem of a place has excellent food and cocktails. The staff were helpful and very friendly and will happily walk you through choosing food from the menu. Don't ignore the cauliflower stalks they were a revelation

I sadly became unwell after having their salad selection. The water tasted awful I assume because it had sat in a metal jug, and I am unable to leave my bed because of the queasiness and highly recommend going elsewhere.

Had a company dinner there on a Thursday evening. As soon as we walked in, the host warmup welcomed us and showed us to our table. As soon as we got seated, he handed us the food and drink menus. Some of my colleagues were thinking about getting some wine and he was able to provide some good recommendations, however we decided to go for other drinks. When we placed the food order, he informed us there's a 15 minutes wait on food, but that was ok for us. We really appreciated that he communicated that to us. Once the food came, everyone was very pleasantly surprised by the taste and combined textures of the dishes, as they were complementing each other very well. I went for a lamb shank with a side of smoked potatoes and a mocktail. The lamb shank was absolutely delicious, very tender and it was literally melting in the mouth. The potatoes were also done very well and they came with aioli, which was delicious. We also went for desserts and I got a chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream and lemon sprinkles. Overall it was an incredible experience food wise and we felt the service was extremely friendly. The atmosphere was very nice and cozy - there was some background music, however it was kept at a reasonably low level, so we could have conversations and clearly understand each other. Nothing short of 5 ⭐

Went there absolutely starving and was served raw chicken when in the chicken pita. When I alerted the staff they didn't apologize or seem to care at all. The chicken was genuinely as pink as bubblegum.

My friend and I were on the hunt for a nice spot to catch up, and since she’s vegetarian, we figured Amber would be a great choice—and it totally was! Even though we showed up 30 minutes early (classic us), the team greeted us warmly and got us seated right away. The vibe of the place? So cozy. Loved the wooden furniture, plants everywhere, and the open kitchen giving off all the right energy. It was a long-overdue catch-up session, so shoutout to the team for being super patient with us as we took our sweet time to order. We kicked things off with a great bottle of wine and ordered a bunch of dishes to share. One thing we loved was how the food arrived as it was ready—none of that overwhelming table-juggling. It gave us space to enjoy each dish properly. Speaking of food, we tried the bread basket, hummus gnocchi, crawling flower, torched sea bream, prawns in garlic oil, grilled courgettes, and smoked potatoes. Every single thing was chef’s kiss delicious. The service? Absolutely top-notch. They really made it the perfect girls’ night out. Highly recommend Amber—it’s a gem!

What delights, we never tire of it. Chance put this restaurant on my path, I went there the 3 evenings I was in London. Hummus, pitas, zucchini, eggplant, lamb, desserts, prawns... fabulous!

Great restaurant. The food is comparable to an oriental-style tapas bar. Very tasty and the staff is also very friendly and helpful. Of course it's not cheap, but the quality is good. I highly recommend the broccoli, a super tasty dish!

It’s still nice for brunch, but the food hasn’t been excellent for the past two years. I used to go almost every Sunday but stopped going as often. The food is still okay, just not as excellent as it used to be. I’m not sure if they changed the chef or the quality of the ingredients, but it’s been disappointing. I’m not saying the food is terrible—it’s just that the taste has changed, and I feel sad that I can’t enjoy it the way I used to.

I've been going to Amber for years and it gets better and better. The food is fantastic, very original with plenty of vegetarian dishes you can't find anywhere else. My meat eater friends have always be very happy too. I'm not a dessert person but the pumpkin seeds ice cream is just extraordinary!

I loved the veggie selection here. The zucchini was delicious and so were the lentil kofte. The cornbread was perfectly moist. The cauliflower was a bit salty for my liking. But I will definitely consider revisiting.

It was a very pleasant dinner, all the dishes prepared with care and really good. The staff are smiling and Lucia in particular was really nice, explaining the dishes to us and exchanging a few words with us. The restaurant has an open kitchen and a nice atmosphere.

Service at a very high level, the food is excellent, the portions are the exact size The place looks very clean and tidy, really nicely decorated, the location is really good and the price is completely fair (we were a couple, we drank alcohol as an appetizer and main courses, we paid 50 euros)

We went there for lunch. If you like houseplants, these are your people. Lovely interior and friendly personnel. We had the lamb and the chicken, together with the bean salad and tabbouleh. Everything was very tasty and portion sizes were decent. Only letdown was the bread which tasted like something you would get from a US supermarket. Regardless, great place.

The service was very friendly and fast (there were few people) I ordered hummus and it was really delicious, along with the Jerusalem pita and the glazed lamb shoulder to share, the great plan. I highly recommend it.

Service and vibe are great! Food was ok, the chickpea gnocchi is something to pass on. The lamb shoulder is good. All plates are to share. Cocktails are nice for the value. Overall for 2 cocktails and 2 side plates were around £80

Fabulous restaurant serving Middle Eastern cuisine with flair! Ate here three times over the course of a long weekend and the food was consistently amazing. Fresh ingredients and imaginative menu. Not extensive but what they do they do really well. Lovely staff and relaxed atmosphere. Loved the grilled chicken, the aubergine salad and the sea bream. My husband’s flat iron steak was one of the best meals he’s ever eaten. Highly recommended.

Pernottavamo in zona Whitechapel e cercavamo un ristorante in zona (circa 15 minuti a piedi). Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti sia per la qualità del cibo che per l'accoglienza e il servizio. Nonostante fossimo arrivati alle 21,30 e la cucina chiudesse alle 22 siamo riusciti a mangiare senza problemi. Il menù è molto vario. Menzione particolare per il dolce al mango.

Amazing food here as allways. The salads are allways very fresh at lunch time and the lamb Pitta is great. Pretty fast service so great for a working lunch. Only room for improvement is on price. £54 for two for what is a load of salad

Excellent place, excellent service. The food is really great, finely presented, with surprising tastes. All good, special mention to: burnt butter, prawns, flat steak and mango baklava. Not to mango the bread.

We went with our friends here one night after passing by the restaurant for quite a while now and we were pleasantly surprised. Everything from the small plates which actually are a fairly decent in size and drinks, everything was amazing. The hummus gnocchi was a standout for me. It was so good I shed a tear. And also the smoked potatoes. My god, I never knew potatoes can taste this good. Also the ouroboros cocktails was so smooth and interesting. We will surely come back to try some other dishes. Soo nice

Lovely diner of a mixture of Mediterranean and Persian dishes with very friendly staff

The price of ten to twenty pounds per person is completely off. For that amount of money you'll get a drink and desert, not more not less. The menue is is fourty-three pounds per person, that's what you can expect to spend. It is an expensive restaurant and they also deliver on it. Just the chicken was cold when it arrived.

Amazing place. Great atmosphere and we were lucky to get bar seats with a great view of what was being prepared. Everything was delicious, humus gnocchi is a revelation and Asyak was fantastic. Will definitely be back!

Great modernized Middle Eastern. I think they are actually better than Ottolenghi, where a lot of the mezze taste same-y. Half the price of Ottolenghi. Highlights of our order were torched sea bream, sucuk baharat prawns, smoked potatoes, mango baklava. Others at the table loved the lamb shoulder and the sweet burnt butter with herbs nuts and dried fruit for dipping bread into. The only dud dish was the chocolate mousse which I wouldn’t order again.

We had a fantastic meal at Amber. All the dishes were very good. The burnt butter was a favourite as many comments mention. But I think the prawns are an even superior dish. The flavour of the oil with the bits of prawn shell and spice are incredible. We loved the dish so much that we ordered a second serving. The cauliflower was another excellent dish and we also ordered another serving of it. Lamb and potatoes were very tasty. We were not impressed by the broccoli and cauliflower heads. It was the least favourite dish of the meal. It was bland. Desserts were another hit with the pumpkin sead ice cream taking the crown. Such an unusual and unexpected flavour. Loved the flavour but also the extremely rich and creamy texture. Loved it. The service was outstanding. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and could explain the dishes in detail. I extremely appreciated the honesty when talking about dishes and mentioning what was good or not in their opinion.

Amber is a standout in Middle Eastern dining—definitely not your typical spot! As someone familiar with countless Middle Eastern restaurants, I was genuinely impressed by the modern twist they bring to traditional dishes. The atmosphere is stylish and contemporary, which reflects in the beautifully balanced menu. The freshness of the ingredients shines through in every bite. We tried the meatballs with yogurt, which were delicious, but the star of the meal was the pita lamb shoulder sandwich. The lamb was incredibly tender, and the pita itself was probably the best I’ve ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Amber and can’t wait to return to explore more of their innovative dishes! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fresh take on Middle Eastern cuisine.

I went last week. So i can confirm some of the facts that emerged in previous reviews. The food is very good. I took the baked potatoes and the glazed lamb and they were delicious. What is equally true, is that they have all the main dishes already done, quite common in most restaurants to shorten the waiting time and the workload, the problem here is that they are too quick so the food also in my case became cold quite quickly. I think they should change the method they use to heat it up before serving. The service though was very nice, i mentioned about this problem and as "compensation" they were offering me the dessert. So they were definitively very nice. The ambience is also nice, in line with the general coolness of trendy London :). I recommend it.

What a treat of a place! The food is fresh, rich and bright. A showcase of the best flavours of the Middle East marinades, ferments and vegetables in abundance made for snacking and sharing- superb before or after the cinema. Elegant but also just naturally pretty but ultimately exceptionally delicious and comforting. The Atom fresh and umami with warming and fermented chillies with cool yoghurt. There is real creativity here- hummus gnocchi- a sea of chickpeas tahini cloudlike gnocchi and cheese. I could not eat it fast enough. Then the chicken. Like the best butter chicken - my fav and only chicken dish I order when I am out- highlighting preserved lemon & zough at its best but also the kitchen’s prowess at marination and cooking. Theres a lot of love, creativity and dedication to craft in all the dishes. It was outstanding And the service was graceful. Diligent, steady, considerate, charming, cool and proficient: open kitchens and bars require a team who enjoys working together

What a lovely dinner we just had! Starting with some outstanding and unusual cocktails, every dish was a sumptuous delight. We would particularly recommend the fried cauliflower, seabass crudo and lamb shoulder, but overall all delicious and we would highly recommend!

Reservations accept Middle Eastern food with some other dishes. Tell them that you do not eat pork in them. The shame is that the service is bad. In addition, they brought burnt bread and burnt chicken. The day I asked her, she said so. I paid for the hummus and labneh only and left because of the poor service.

The Challah Toast is nothing short of sublime. The toast itself is a generous thick slice of enriched bread with a good crumb. The golden toast holds well the labneh (strained yogurt), well placed raspberries and blueberries. Sitting on a plate dressed with honey, the topping of crunchy sesame seeds and halved hazelnuts with a playful pop of spice and savouriness from chilli and salt flakes make for entertaining mouthfuls. The vibrant dashes of pistachio nut powder against the red, blue, white and gold make it serves a enchanting sight. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is lively and charming with greenery, bronze Kitchenware, Mediterranean serving dishes, friendly and professional staff. I love the flexibility of the restaurant to accommodate changing needs. Wifi available and clean toilets. Will come back again!

Loved it. The potatoes were divine, probably best potatoes I've had. Cooked several ways and had a smokey flavour. Amazing. The servers were friendly and did a candle for my sister's birthday :) fast service and great food.

Came here for the first time and food was delicious. Very light and very flavourful. Highly recommend the hummus gnocchi, Broccoli & cauliflower hearts, smoky potatoes and Seabream, absolutely delicious. The cloud cheesecake for dessert was a nice end to the dinner, lovely. After my recent visit to this Restaurant, I felt compelled to share my experience. The atmosphere was a clear highlight—calm, relaxed, and welcoming. Opting for the tasting menu at £42 per person, I had high expectations, particularly given the elegant presentation of the dishes. The Mains: The vegetable dishes—featuring hummus, cauliflower, and smoked potato—were a pleasant surprise, cooked well and offering a unique twist. Unfortunately, the grilled chicken, though freshly prepared and beautifully flavored, arrived at the table cold, which impacted the overall enjoyment. Sea bass was served raw, as per the restaurant’s style, but this was not indicated on the menu, leaving some guests unprepared. The lamb shoulder was the star of the meal, cooked to perfection and full of flavor, though the lingering smell of lamb detracted slightly from the experience. Desserts: The dessert course was underwhelming. The “Mango Baklava” strayed too far from a traditional baklava, and the pumpkin seed ice cream was not to my liking, overpowering the palate. While the chocolate mousse was passable, it still did not meet expectations, and after these dishes, I lacked the confidence to try the cheesecake, especially after my colleague’s negative reaction. Conclusion: In summary, despite the inviting atmosphere and some strong dishes, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. The inconsistency in food temperature, lack of menu clarity, and disappointing desserts detracted from what could have been a promising experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I cannot recommend Amber and would advise others to consider alternative options.

Had dinner with the family and everything was delicious. The chicken was surprisingly spicy but the lamb shoulder was a great success with the youngest one.

Vegans will starve. Salads, sides and garnishes without a trace of protein are not options.

Very pretty and low-lit atmosphere. Middle eastern cuisine, and it was superb. Definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in London. The cauliflower had a great sauce and crispness, my eggplant was really good despite my hesitation, and the flavors were super unique!! Would totally go back, not expensive considering how good it was.

I visited London with a friend for my birthday, and picked Amber as a special treat. We sat at the chef's counter which was something a bit different for us. We shared the cauliflower, and the hummus and bread, and I had vegan koftes and the green crunch salad to myself, whilst my friend had the torched sea bream and the smoked potatoes. The hummus was incredible, I actually considered having another portion instead of a dessert but I was stuffed. Cauliflower has no business being as delicious as the dish here, I could have easily just eaten multiple plates of it to be honest! Everything else was great but those two stood out for me. I finished with the vegan pumpkin seed ice cream, which was astonishingly good. Very unique tasting but so tasty. The service was lovely too. A 10 out of 10 experience (although I do wish there were some more vegan options - the hummus gnocchi looked delicious!). Thank you for a lovely birthday treat!

We were staying nearby and didn’t have a booking, however, staff was nice and accommodating. Food was very good! The only thing I would say is that staff rushes to get you out of the place, that kinda ruined our experience, other than that, beautiful spot!

This place did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and full of flavour. I was dining on my own, I had a lovely seat at the window. Everyone was lovely, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.

Amazing value, really helpful and friendly staff who were very welcoming and advised on dishes. I would recommend ordering a few dishes if you are in a group and sharing these tapas-style as is custom in the Middle Eastern culture. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the decor was lovely! Would definitely come back to try the burnt aubergine and the breakfast options!

Dessert: Mango balaclava is a dream; crunchy, soft and not too sweet. They are so good measuring the level of the ingredients about everything we ordered. The atmosphere is comfy and stunning, FULL OF PLANTS 🫶, well looked after. Ah, the stuff was so helpful and kind. Became my favourite restaurant in the first visit, I am so glad. Thanks to my friend Ata, who introduced me to this temple of sensations.

We ordered several small plates to share and they were all delicious, I wouldn't know which one to choose. from simple hummus gnocchi or fried cauliflower to the intensity of pierogi or raw sea bass. And what to say about the desserts! The pumpkin seed ice cream with tahini and the mango baklava were spectacular. The atmosphere is also very pleasant and relaxed. The waitresses were attentive to us at all times. A perfect experience.

The shakshouka and the burnt aubergine were great. The tabouleh could have been a bit juicier. The service was great but I felt they were a bit understaffed (maybe someone was sick when we visited).
