Came for Sunday roast, left with happy belly. We had scotch egg, roast beef, roast pork belly, and spatchcocked chicken for lunch (too much for 4). The food was delicious, great Sunday roast. Enjoyed a bottle of Mercurey 1er cru, which was lovely. It was game day for Chelsea FC, and we were amused by the signboard outside. Highly recommended for Sunday roast!

Not sure what I preferred, the fox or the pheasant. The pheasant delightfully marinaded but goodness me the fox put up a good chase. We had it running up and down the Fulham road before Barnaby was able to corner it in a dead end. If you want an evening pleasant, Get a bead at the fox and pheasant!

Not family friendly and rude staff. No high chairs available so my 17 month old daughter had to sit in our laps throughout. This was despite me leaving a request on booking to have a high chair. There was also no changing table so we had to change a dirty nappy with her in a cubicle whilst standing. Staff completely unapologetic about this and just say that it’s on their website that they don’t have high chairs, when in fact it is not. Picking a fight with my wife during dinner about this and then changing to say it is on their open table page (again it is not). Daughter didn’t eat any of her meal as she does not eat whilst sat in anyone’s laps. Meal not even offered to be refunded. Their excuse is that they don’t have space for high chairs and that other local places don’t have high chairs. As someone who lives in South-West London and works in the area this is a bare-faced lie. Any parent who goes here will have been to smaller establishments with less space in the local area that cater for families. Ultimately whole experience could have been improved if staff actually showed some empathy for the situation, but lack of facilities was compounded with rudeness. Food was meh too. Edit following response to review: Whilst you have apologised in the response to review this is actually the first time you did offer an apology. The rest of the message negates any attempt at sincerity. I have checked with all other members of the party and nobody was offered an apology at any point (one sample of messages confirming as such in the attached photos) despite your claims. Also to make a passive aggressive comment about two parents and a young child by referring as all other guests as delightful underscores the contempt you showed towards young families, particularly mothers, on the day itself. We would have been more than happy to listen to either you or Rafaela, but all you did was try and argue that it was on your website when it was not and did not acknowledge that we had also left this as a request at the time of booking (photo also provided as evidence below). Ultimately we would have struggled through without a high chair either way, but it was your attitudes on the day which made us leave early I am sorry to let you know.

We had such high expectations of this place which weren’t fulfilled, sadly. We booked a table, came a bit early and waited outside. It wasn’t obvious how to get to the restaurant part of the pub, so we had to ask the bartender who was busy. He then tells you the table number and you go downstairs. The restaurant looked nice and my sister and I had a lovely table under a tree. The service felt rather rushed. We ordered a starter to share, two mains and two desserts. The starter was mackerel pate on a toast, a bit too salty, but fine. The sea bream for the main was good which can’t be applied to the pork t bone with potato terrine which was so salty that gave no good taste. The cheesecake was ok and sorbet serving was so big that we couldn’t finish it. Together with 2 Bellinis we paid 134£ and we won’t be coming back for sure. Beautiful ladies room, by the way, with some framed pages from the Soviet botanical encyclopaedia for some reason.

Very good Sunday roast, pork in our case. The rest of the food we saw looked amazing and generous portions, too. If I had one criticism, it is that we felt a little rushed to start with. It’s kinda like a beautiful country pub in the playground of London. You come off the busy Fulham Road and immediately feel the village vibes, with dark wood furniture and the loveliest team and beaming smile from my friend Dan at the bar. If you choose to venture further into the pub, like entering the wardrobe to Narnia, you’ll find a vibrant, earthy restaurant in the back, which I highly recommend too. I have tried now quite a few pub classics executed to perfection, like the fish & chips and the pie & mash before, but on this occasion ventured further into the menu. You’ll always get a canapé, which is unheard of at a pub and quite brilliant in setting the scene. Dan was great at giving us recommendations, where we’d not eaten all day, which led us to indulge in a shared lamb croquette the size of a babies arm as a starter… the largest monolithic dish with delicious melt in the mouth pulled lamb, that will forever be etched on my brain as the godfather of starters. It was lucky then that we opted for two mains if the torpedo starter hadn’t already taken us down ;) Veal Schnitzel took me back to Germany and my grandmothers pile of amazing schnitzels she gleefully used to continuously cook. We attached it to a fried chicken burger side main, that I heard has connections with the gents at Fallow in its creation. Both really great fun and knocked our back wheels off that we were amply full and ready for a happy food coma. I really do love The Fox and Pheasant. Its not only an incredible foodie pub, with fantastic energy and a lovely team, but it has a lot of great family memories I can’t ever repeat, only go back for more. Thanks lovely Dan and team!

Love this gastropub and have been several times. Menu choice very good, food is excellent, service friendly, knowledgeable and very good. Tonight however was a real disappointment. Chicken Kiev was almost burnt so very dry, chicken bap with bacon was tasty but the bun was dry, crumbly and felt stale. Friend had spinach, walnut and ricotta pie - pie pastry was good but the pie was all spinach, a couple of walnuts and not really a good combination in flavour. Off night perhaps. To add patrons behind us had 2 dogs which barked the entire time we were there which was incredibly annoying.

I love this pub I wish JB would open more pubs as this is the standard all other pubs should aspire to. The food is excellent and the place is always busy. I handed them an American driver’s license which they promptly returned and claimed “didn’t work” which is ridiculous considering that I’m three years over the drinking age in my home country. I asked why and he said, “i need a driver’s license or passport” to which I replied “that is a drivers license.” This insipid bartender had the gall to mockingly shake his head and tell me “not for us it’s not.” Avoid like grim death. I rented the upstairs private room for my work Christmas party, the Fox & Pheasant were extremely accomodating and attentive and the food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I wanted to bring my own table decorations and a member of the staff, Tania, voluntarily assisted me to put them out in time, she attended the table of 19 people all night and was very polite and helpful. I think one of the biggest things to say about this private room and about the whole pub in general, is that the atmosphere is very cosy and full of character. They had the open fire on and had a Christmas tree and wreaths all decorated impeccably. I was in contact with Rafaela who was quick to reply and keen to be helpful during the whole booking process. The booking system was very easy to use. I will definitely be returning and judging by how happy my colleagues were, I am certain they will be as well.

thats the headline. and i can understand that youre not going to stop till you get one. this is a natural human response to the beerskis. this is what found me down the lebanese express grill on brick lane. the second you arrive you knowwwww for sureskis its gonna take a while for scran. but youre invested. so hey ho lets ruddy go. however there still exists a realm of bossman obfuscation which is beyond even your drunkest ideations. the order is a normal one , and youre sitting pretty, chilling, chewing the phat with your pals. and then, the chill sets innnn. and all of a sudden, the local entourage of dealers rocks up. fair play you think, they get first dibs. theyre powerful people. then the string of this category of bloke keeps coming and youre sat by the till wondering if your time in the sunshine will ever materialise. perhaps, as you feared 15 mins ago, the bossman, so in charge, so on top of his worldly duty, has forgotten you. but this would seem bizarre given its legit his job and you dont wanna karen it up. well yeh thats what gwarned. you ask for your scran, get given some and only once youre home do you realise its the wrong thing. am i bitter? well obviously i am but really im normally quite pleasant

We booked a table at this restaurant online and had all the expected emails (including one a couple of days before asking us to confirm that we were definitely going). However on arrival we discovered that the restaurant had closed and there was now something else in it's place. I was told that the restaurant had closed over a month ago! All their online booking seems still to be in place, including the emails telling me that I was successfully checked in at the restaurant and the one asking for feedback on my experience! Very misleading. Also very disappointing given that we'd travelled a long way and desperately needed Gluten Free food and there was nothing else suitable in the area that we could find. What a disaster!
