A friend recommended this place to us as we tried their samosas at my friends. They were to die for. The best samosas EVER. Also had dhokra and bateta vada. PHENOMENAL taste just like my mum used to make.!

I have been going to Pilli Pilli for a numbers of years. I have place a couples of orders, but last week I ordered for a pre wedding events. All my guests just couldn't stop complementing how lovele the food was and were asking if it was home made. All their farsan and sweets are amazing. Especially the Kenyan Chevdo which I have bought and sent all the way up to Bradford. They have never disappointed me as the food is scrumptious and the place is very clean.

I have just started to get regular takeaway from Pilli Pilli to feed the family guju food and they love it. Its like home made food, fresh and tasty and decent portions for the price you pay. Highly recommend them, so happy they are local!

I have to give one star as there is no option to give half!! On 9th September I bought a number of items including Thali, crispy bhajyas and masala mogo. Thali was diabolical, crispy bhajyas were stale and could smell the oil that seemed to have been used several times prior. I was charged £17 but was not even given the receipt. Later on the same day when I called to complain I was made to feel like I was lying and of course no apology was offered never mind a refund! I was also overcharged for the items purchased but sadly don't have any proof as I was not given a receipt. Really disappointing and feel like I need to take this up further because they should not be allowed to get away selling stale food. Never setting a foot in that place again.

I have been to Pilli Pilli a number of times to place orders for parties, weekend take away and also just picking up snacks. They have never disappointed me as the food is scrumptious and the place is very clean. Couple of times on lazy days I have picked up a thali which consists of 3 veg curries, couple of roti, rice and a savoury. All food is freshly prepared and that's what I like about this place.

Sent an email to inquire for a catering order for a small party - No response. After a few days followed up with numerous phone calls - No response; they can't be bothered to pick up the phone.

I was advised by a friend that this place makes authentic Kenyan food. So i gave it a try. Mamri was delicious but rest not a lot to say. I had barrazi, bhadhali bhajia, garlic potatoes and vada, These latter did not have any speacial taste and was not al authentic like when made in Kenya. Its a take away place and a place to sit down and eat. I would certainly visit again only to buy mamri on Sunday morning.

I visit this kenyan infused place from time to time and highly recommend their food. Its more so a take away place but being close to me, this works for me. The staff are friendly and as long as its not near closing time you can always order via phone to have what you would like, freshly prepared. The food here is always tasty and my favourite dish from this place is Crispy Bhajiya. They really do know how to make bhajiya that hits the spot. Pilli Pilli is a credit to the Kenton area!

We had a family get together for around 30 people, and everyone enjoyed the delicious food, the portions were more than enough too. Thank you Pilli Pilli.

Take away food with average taste. I don't consider value for money. Good selection of someone who doesn't want to cook at home. Not for me.

looking for somewhere to have a vegetarian take away or lunch then this is the place to go. Good food and service. A thali for around £3.50 is not bad at all. For those like me who do not like to make chappati's or thepla they do them as takeaway as well

We wanted to treat ourselves, as both off work and not been to Castle for a while. We were not disappointed. We both had sunday roasts, which were excellent. Roasties, yorkshire pud, quality of meat, cooking of veg, gravy, all superb. Staff very welcoming and efficient. Definately be going back. Only quibble is main dining area very dark, maybe take screens off windows in there to let some light in. Table numbers would be useful. Other than that, brilliant!

Heriots cakes used to be awesome and really good, however the chocolate fudge cake (8 inch £40) was just as terrible as it can get, it tasted cheap and when we cut it it was as hard as you can imagine and pretty sugary in a nutshell it was probably the worst cake we have ever purchased from cake shop.... Too bad this the last time we are buying after they were the first name we always think about whenever it comes to cakes!!!

Came for lunch at 1pm on the Bank Holiday Monday, ordered drinks and got a high chair. Tried to order food a few minutes later for my toddler while we decided what we wanted; to be told A) they don’t do half the kids menu that I had looked up online and B) the kitchen was temporarily closed while she covered the bar. I asked how long food would be as my child needed to eat soon, and was told 20 minutes. My family then decided what we wanted and I tried to order about 10 minutes later to be then told the kitchen was still closed she couldn’t take our order. Clearly food would then be longer than 20 minutes. Would have been nice to have been told we couldn’t get food when I asked for the highchair as we wouldn’t have wasted our time or money on drinks and just gone somewhere else which we ended up doing anyway, but now with a very grumpy child. Have been coming to this pub for 25 years and the service has never been so poor.

We were a large group (13) celebrating a ruby wedding and as we arrived we were offered a function room, which was a lovely surprise. Service was helpful and unhurried. The meals were delicious and beautifully presented. A memorable occasion , thank you
