We booked our wedding here in January 22 and recently got married here, this September, from beginning to end Waverley and Amy have been an amazing help, with us living so far away they did so much for us, from answering all of our questions to contacting suppliers to make sure that they were suitable for the building and putting up with us for 2 years, they were professional but in a loving way! It was like planning our wedding with big sisters (but they knew what they were doing!) we're going to miss them so much and our yearly trip to see the venue, our day could not have been what it was without them, the day ran so smoothly and we didn't have to worry about anything at all, if anything they told us to pass off more responsibility to them to just enjoy ourselves, because of them, we did, Thank you so much to The Pilgrims Rest, Waverley and Amy for making our dreams come true! We would get married here over and over again ❤️

The venue and staff were top notch! What a cosy and beautiful setting for a wedding. So much fascinating history in Battle, it was such a treat for us visiting from Canada.

Our wedding at The Pilgrim’s Rest was more perfect than we could have ever imagined. We wondered how our spring wedding would work here but the venue is so stunning, versatile and adaptable. It truely speaks for itself and we were so glad to find it after having our original venue cancel on us six months before our big day. We couldn’t have imagined having our wedding anywhere else and it will forever hold a special place in our hearts along with Amy and Waverley who were phenomenal from our very first meeting, right to the end. They continuously went above and behind to make us feel so comfortable and confident and ensuring our day went as smoothly as possible.

We fell in love with The Pilgrims Rest from the moment we set foot inside the door! Rich in local history, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated throughout, with an incredible staff team! No request was too big or too small, Amy-Lou & Waverley were always on hand to answer any questions & reassure us throughout the process. Our wedding day was perfect & we felt in safe hands - the team ensured that we felt comfortable & relaxed. We had so many compliments on the venue from our guests & the building perfectly fitted our Lord of the Rings vibe! Only heartbreak is that our day is over! Hazel & Ben

The venue was great, the staff were helpful in the extreme and the food was delicious. The downsides were the size of the venue, it was not great so it would be ideal for a smaller party, though I'm not saying it is cramped. There is no parking on site but a public car park is within 50 yards, there are no barriers to stop late leavers. Make sure you book any post party taxis in advance.

The Pilgrims Rest is a wonderful venue. I visited years ago when it was a tea room and was so excited when I found out it was now a wedding venue. My partner and I just had our wedding here and it was the most perfect day. Waverley and Amy were everything you could ask for, facilitating viewings, answering big and small questions, and making sure everything ran seamlessly on the day: having people you can trust is so important on such a huge occasion. The venue is stunning, and the pre decorated areas are beautiful, with flexibility in style. Access the day before for decorating and run-throughs and the following day for collection also takes a large weight off your shoulders. It’s so nice to know you picked the absolute right venue for your wedding and would not hesitate to recommend it wholeheartedly.

This was our Wedding venue on the 21.10.23 and we couldn't of asked for anything more. We fell in love with the venue 2 years ago and booked it instantly. The charm and beauty of the building speaks for itself it is just truly the most magical place to get married. With the separate spaces being close together linked via the main hall it is such an intimate venue, all of our guests commented on how cosy and valued they felt. Waverly and Amy you are the most amazing people thank you both so much for making sure everything went smoothly it felt like you were supposed to be there. I didn't notice a single issue throughout the day you handled everything so wonderfully. I wish I could get married here every day but being apart of The Pilgrims Rest's story is a wonderful thought I will cherish looking back on our day.

The Pilgrims Rest is such a special venue. We got married here end of Sept and everything about it was perfect. We wanted a dry hire venue so we could have more flexibility and so the wedding reflected us. The team are just incredible; Waverley and Amy were so helpful, answered our many questions, gave us loads of helpful tips and recommendations and were amazing on the day making sure everything went smoothly. We got so many compliments from our guests! Thank you again for everything - also super dog friendly venue for anyone who wants to include their pets - best decision we made!

The Pilgrim's Rest. What can I say. It's honestly just magic. My husband and I were looking to get married from abroad, in an area close to his parents. We found the Pilgrims Rest in our research and sent his mum and dad to have a look, who told us about how charming this building was. It was pretty much from this we decided to book, without even seeing the venue! From here, we had impeccable communication from Waverley and Amy while overseas. We chose the venue due to how stress free it seemed. When we finally arrived to see the venue, we we're just astounded! The venue - incredible. The decorations inside - absolutely fitting for the seasons and the interior, I didn't even add any further except fresh florals! The dining room and ceremony table + chairs included - even less stress now to organise. Dressing rooms for bride + groom were just so lovely to know we were both there getting ready, less stress about getting to the venue on time! A bar inside that's ready to be stocked up in a gorgeous room - just so handy! A cottage garden out the front and on such a cute high street - dreamy!! I cannot fault this place. It was literally SO stress free to organise from Australia. They also put together this amazing list of vendors to work with who I just don't think you can go wrong with, whichever you pick. This really felt like a one of a kind venue with exceptional organisation by the ladies, who are just angels on the day helping out as well. Our day was so beautiful and special here, I recommend this gem and treasure with all my heart! Many fond memories forever. Megan + David x

What a venue and a team! We got married here three weeks ago and I haven't been able to bring myself to leave a review until now because I don't want to believe that it's over! We booked our wedding two years ago, so it was a long time in the making! The day was absolutely perfect. Amy Lou and Waverley were both on hand to make sure that it went smoothly. Our guests were amazed by the beautiful venue and it's history and many of them commented on how relaxed and laidback the day was. The recommended caterers were also amazing and knew the venue well, which definitely helped the meal to go without a hitch - everyone had full bellies and weren't waiting around for their food. Being able to set up the day before and collect everything the next day was so useful as well. There is soo much more I could say! Can we do it all again please?! Thank you xxxxx

We recently got married at The Pilgrims Rest this summer. I couldn't recommend the venue anymore, and it was everything that we dreamed of. From the start of the booking process, Amy was so helpful and continued to be throughout. The hire package we chose was perfect for us, allowing access the day before to set up, and then the morning after to take things away, meaning on the actual day, you aren't worrying about everything. The day ran so smoothly with help from Waverly and Amy and honestly couldn't fault anything. Thanks again so much for all of your help!!

The team at Pilgrims Rest are so helpful and lovely! We ultimately changed wedding plans and decided to elope but this was no reflection of the Pilgrim’s Rest and they were incredibly understanding the whole way through. The dressing rooms are lovely and you can get your photos done in the abbey next door which is amazing!

We got married here at the end of June this year and had a fantastic experience. The venue is charming and characterful. Waverley and Amy helped us through every step for a stress free day. Many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they had been to. Having everything in one venue was a real bonus and kept it relaxed for us and the guests. We cannot recommend Pilgrim's Rest enough. The venue is beautiful, full of character and very affordable for what you get. It is 'semi' dry hire which was fantastic. You can really make it your own by picking your own caterer, bar, florist and decor but unlike other dry hires we saw, the venue provides a lot of the basics. This includes basic furnishing/decor, recommended suppliers and a fantastic team to make sure things run smoothly. Waverley and Amy are INCREDIBLE - super responsive and helpful in the run up to the wedding and on the day did everything to make sure things went off without a hitch (e.g. everything from greeting/directing suppliers to making sure me and my new husband got first dibs on the hog roast in the evening). We loved being able to get ready at the venue and there being lots of different places for guests to enjoy themselves across the course of the day rather than everything being based in one room.

where do I start? all the people and recommended suppliers I've come to know really well the last 9 months before the wedding have become my friends for life! I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding! our friends were buzzing about how kind and sweet Amy and Waverly are. I will never forget my wedding date 10th June 2023, just wish we got pictures with you guys too! i will always remember our wedding with so much tenderness and joy as i think of everyone who made it perfect down to picking up the cans on the ground! It's hard to articulate just how special The Pilgrims Rest is as a wedding venue. It has the most wonderful welcoming atmosphere and quaint charm; much of its warmth however comes from the fabulous team who could not do more to help every wedding couple contribute their own chapter to the history of this magical place. We couldn't have asked for a better day, and thank you for memories that we will cherish forever.

What a magical little gem! We was due to get married at Cooling Castle in December 2024 and then we came across the pilgrims rest. From our initial call on a Sunday morning to enquire about viewing we were greeted by a happy and helpful voice who turned out to be Amy ! We were then surprised that on the same afternoon they had a open day so drove in from London to be utterly surprised and so happy we had made the trip! From stepping into this beautiful historic rustic building we instantly fell in love! The smell , the decor , the original beauty and the overall feeling felt magical and so intimate that we knew it was for us! We were greeted by Amy and Waverley who couldn’t be more helpful or lovelier at showing off all the amazing venue has to offer! We felt listened too and they made us feel so welcome and spent the afternoon laughing and smiling about what was to come. Throughout our journey and up to the day the whole team were attentive , helpful and so happy to always go the extra mile to ensure we were relaxed and had everything to hand. They emailed and called us with little reminders ( but not too much ) which was perfect especially as there is lots to arrange with a 12 week wedding schedule! Thank you again for the gentle reminders you are awesome. We took the bells and whistle package which meant we were able to go in the day before to set up. All the staff came out to the car and helped us unload our packed car and then ensured everything was set up beautifully and they took their time despite us still being there near close time - it was so helpful and warming and hugely appreciated and will not be forgotten . Our wedding was the most magical and beautiful day set in the snow - the pilgrims rest was stunning and the inside was so enchanting with all the fires and lighting! Absolutely fantastic venue with the staff to match who ensured our day went smoothly and we honestly had the most fantastic day we could have dreamed of! All our guests have all commented so highly on such a beautiful venue and the atmosphere that was created by the pilgrims rest staff all day long! The pilgrims rest will always hold a very special place in our hearts! We would recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful venue full of charm. From our very first viewing up to and including clearing up the morning after they really couldn't do more. We got married on 3rd December and had the best day. The Pilgrims Rest was our dream venue, and we had so many compliments from our guests. The building is stunning and unique, and the winter seasonal decorations were perfect. Waverley and Maria were amazing throughout planning and on the day itself. We finally got married here in August 2022 - Honestly, there are not enough amazing words to describe the Pilgrims rest, a beyond beautiful venue with an absolutely stellar team!! So many of our friends and family commented on what a stunning venue we had chosen and how it was such a lovely day. We were one of the very first wedding bookings for the Pilgrims rest by Amy-Lou, back at the end of 2018. Loving absolutely everything rustic, Tudor and heavenly, our hearts were set on the Pilgrims rest immediately. We warmed to Amy-Lou and the team instantly and it is evident how dedicated they are to ensuring every Pilgrims couple has their dream, magical day! Throughout the complete chaos of having to postpone our wedding three times & four dates later, Amy Lou was more of a friend, supporting us - listening to us, empathising and weighing up our options. We had heard of so many truly awful experiences other couples had gone through during the pandemic - thoroughly affecting their wedding plans, but the team at the Pilgrims rest always made us feel at the absolute heart of everything, keeping us informed - especially Amy-Lou, giving her time for lengthy, supportive chats! From the set up, to the day itself Amy-Lou, Waverley and the girls helped out and rallied round like nothing was too much trouble at all. You really do feel special and we would have thought after 4 years of having us on their books, they would've grown bored of us - but not a sign of this at all!! We had the most amazing, truly magical day - that had evolved and become much more intimate over time. A* for the AMAZING Pilgrims Rest. We recently had the pleasure of hosting our Wedding at this amazing venue. The team, the building, the location - everything is top class. Starting off back in late 2020, my partner and I enquired with The Pilgrims Rest about our wedding and Amy-Lou quickly responded. We organised a zoom call and virtual tour of the venue and we instantly knew it was the one. Due to the pandemic, we weren’t able to secure a registrar for our chosen date until around February, however, Amy-Lou kept noting that there was no pressure to put a deposit down and no urgency to sign the contract until we had secured the registrar. We were honestly blown away by Amy-Lou’s patience in such uncertain times. We finally were able to visit the venue and meet Amy-Lou in the April of 2021, Amy-Lou and the team were so welcoming and helpful giving us a full tour of the building which was just as amazing as in the virtual tour. The suppliers list provided by the Pilgrim’s Rest team was incredibly helpful, all of the other suppliers we used were recommended by the team and spoken so highly of that we had no doubts. Throughout the entire process the whole team were so quick to get back to us with answers to all of our weird queries and were so good at calming our nerves on the lead up to our day, also providing us with a full final checklist making us aware of things that hadn’t even crossed our minds. When it got to the day before our wedding day, we were given the afternoon to set up the venue and upon arrival we were welcomed by Amy-Lou who didn’t just open the door but also was very hands on with the set up and pre planning of the wedding days organisation. All of the seasonal decorations are beautiful and were already in place for us to use and to add our personal touch to. Amy-Lou and the team were so keen and attentive to anything that was being moved or brought out later on after the ceremony, which really helped us on the day and everything just fell into place. The day was amazing, all of our guests were incredibly complimentary of the venue and all staff involved. We cannot believe how lucky we are to have found somewhere like the Pilgrim’s Rest. We are so jealous of every couple that comes across this beautiful venue and get to experience their day here and with this amazing team, as we wish we could do it all over again. Where do we start?! Choosing the Pilgrims Rest for our wedding was easily the best choice we made. It is a beautiful venue, full of history and character, right next door to Battle Abbey, in an amazing part of the country but the real asset are the staff. Amy Lou was our first point of contact and a constant source of reassurance and humour. She made us both feel so comfortable and relaxed right from our first email to the day of the wedding. Waverley was so beautifully organised and helped us shape the day and ensure there was no stress with our suppliers and took away so much pressure in the lead up. The whole team were so relaxed, supportive, kind, funny and unbelievably accommodating and helpful. We knew we had chosen a great venue and were working with a fantastic team when every recommended supplier we contacted was genuinely excited and delighted to be back. I couldn't recommend this gorgeous, quirky, cosy gem of a venue more.

We got married here on 24th Sept '22. It was everything we dreamed of and more! This venue is unbelievably special. So many people commented on what a gem it is and how much they loved our wedding. The Pilgrims Rest team made the planning process run super smoothly and were always willing to help and do whatever they can, which we were very appreciative of. I had the full capacity of guests and I was worried that during the evening party, the venue would feel cramped. It didn't - AT ALL!! Believe me, you can still have all your guests dance the night away. The most brilliant thing about Pilgrims Rest is the flexibility when it comes to suppliers. You can have whoever you want as your caterer, florist etc (with the help of their 'tried and tested' list if you need) - which is hard to find elsewhere. The team really do want you to have your perfect day - however that may look to you. The day after the wedding, the team had basically packed up everything for us - so it meant we didn't even have to do a lot with our rough heads! Cannot thank you enough Waverley and the rest of the team - you are amazing!

We had the most magical day here for our wedding last month! The girls are all wonderful and we felt at home right from our first visit! All of our untraditional requests were accommodated with ease and meant our day was so much personal to us! Our guests have been talking about it ever since! Thank you!!

The Pilgrims Rest was the perfect wedding venue for us. The staff made the whole planning process stress free and we managed to find most of our suppliers from the venue recommendations. The staff were so attentive during the day and made sure everything ran smoothly. The venue is dog friendly too so our dog was able to be part of our big day. Fantastic staff helped provide us with our perfect wedding. The venue is beautiful and fitted in perfectly to the aesthetic we wanted. Cannot recommend enough.

The Pilgrims Rest was the first place we went to see on our hunt for a wedding venue and we knew immediately that it was the one for us. Nowhere else compared after that. The whole team are amazing and had everything running so smoothly, we didn't have to worry about a thing. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and the fact that it comes essentially pre-decorated with lots of beautiful foliage and candles was an added bonus. We would highly recommend!

Intimate, magical and cosy...perfect for our October wedding! Amy-Lou is an absolute gem and was one of the main reasons we chose the venue...her knowledge and support was incredible (especially with a date change!). Waverley & Elle are also great! All our guests loved the vibe and we would 100% recommend!

We used The Pilgrim’s for my sister-in-law’s wedding in November. Overall it was really good, but we expected one or two things to run more smoothly at the end of the day e.g. announcing when & where teas/ coffees were being served after the Breakfast, announcing ‘last orders’ at the bar late in the evening. Just a few little things that could have been run more smoothly, but definitely recommended overall.

My husband and I had our wedding at The Pilgrims Rest in September and we have to say we had an absolutely brilliant day. Not only was The Pilgrims Rest the perfect setting for our small wedding, but Waverley and Amy-Lou helped us all the way along the process and ensured the day went smoothly. Bad food rubbish service not good

I can't begin to tell you how perfect this place is. It's honestly where I had the happiest day of my life. The staff are amazing, the venue is perfect and... Well, just go look for yourselves. Thank you everyone at Pilgrims rest. I feel like the luckiest man on the planet.

Had our wedding there finally after two covid postponements and it truly was such a lovely place that has left us with such magical and memorable experience. The lasses who run it are superb and soo helpful and accomodating. Sad that I cannot give it another star!

We got married at The Pilgrims Rest in May and cannot begin to tell you how completely wonderful they were through the whole planning process! The team supported us through every chance to covid guidance and ensured we had an amazing time on the day. The venue itself is beautiful and is set up perfectly for a relaxed and intimate day. If we could give them more than 5 stars, we would.

Great historic venue with solid food and staff who did all they could to ensure a great event (wedding, reception and after party.) Worked great with 30 sit-down dinner and more in the evening with a live band.

We had our wedding in December 2020 at The Pilgrims Rest, and it was just perfect! We had a 15 people micro-wedding, and we wouldn't have had it any other way. Amy-Lou was amazing, kept us informed with all the new covid guidelines and constantly suggested ideas on how best to make the day work! We feel very lucky to have found such a great venue. Amy, Amy Lou and Anita were really helpful, have loads of experience and had solutions for every situation. The philosophy of the venue is wonderful as well - you can tailor the event to you as much as you'd like, with your choice of caterers, celebrants, decorations, bands etc. No obligation to choose from a list of vendors, but Amy and Amy Lou will provide you with recommendations of vendors to make life easier if you'd like. We had a wonderfully memorable day, thank you!

Thanks so much to The Pilgrims Rest for hosting our wedding day in Oct 2019. From the moment we walked in the door on our first visit in Jan 2018, we knew it was the venue for us. It was the perfect size for the intimate wedding that we had planned and was so inviting with all the wooden beams, beautiful decor and lovely fireplaces. We didn't want to book any old venue, we wanted somewhere that had a story to tell and somewhere that would be the perfect background for a cosy autumnal wedding. The Pilgrims Rest was just that. All of our guests kept complimenting our choice of venue and loved the fact that we had chosen something a little bit different that had so much character. The Abbey next door also provides another fantastic backdrop for photographs. The venue can be dressed up as much as you like. They provide just the right amount of decorations so that you really don't need to buy anything if you don't want to which is a massive plus for keeping costs down. We brought decorations but tried to stick to pieces that really added to the feel of the venue so lots of candles and pumpkins worked a treat! Last but by certainly no means least, Amy & Amy Lou were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. They were so supportive during the planning process and were always on hand to answer any questions we had etc. Amy helped with decorating the venue the day before (thank you!) and Amy, Amy Lou & Anita really looked after everyone on the day to ensure it all ran so smoothly. The most amazing venue for our wedding, will never forget it

We got married here in August and I can't recommend the venue and the girls enough. Amy and Amy-Lou were such a pleasure to work with and made the planning process so easy. The venue is beautiful and needs minimal additional decorations, which meant we were able to add our own little personal finishing touches. Both girls dealt with my million emails and calls and constantly guided me through the whole process start to the hangover the next day. I would 100% recommend The Pilgrims Rest for any wedding. I celebrated my birthday in this charming venue. It was amazing! The venue is cosy and the decor is full of rustic charm. The flexibility of DIY vendors was very appealing. I had a memorable day from start to finish, just as I imagined. Both Amy's bent over backwards to ensure everything went well. From initial contact to my celebration was smooth- thanks to these lovely ladies. They looked after all the fine details that made my day truly special. The memories will linger forever. Pilgrims rest is a lovely and beautiful venue!

We held our wedding at Pilgrims Rest on May 18th 2019. The wedding day was perfect and was made even more special thanks to the venue. Pilgrims Rest is a wonderful wedding venue. It has history, character and charm. The DIY aspect really makes sure that the day is exactly as you imagine. The ability to supply your own alcohol without corkage is a huge benefit. Both Amy's were fantastic. From our first meetings we had absolute confidence that we were in safe hands. They responded to all questions promptly and met all of our ideas with enthusiasm and made planning a wedding easy. On the day they went above and beyond and made sure that everything ran like clockwork. The Pilgrims Rest has a great selection of approved suppliers, we especially recommend the Boxed Girls and DJ Dean! The Pilgrims Rest is a brilliant venue and very worthy of a 5 star rating! We couldn't have picked a better location for our wedding. We loved every moment.

Beautiful wedding venue. Would recommend fewer people for a seated meal as it was difficult to get out of your seat. Lovely spaces for bride and groom to use in addition to main areas. Shame courtyard area out the back did not have more seating. Parking available at the Abbey next door.

The Pilgrims Rest is primarily a venue for tea rooms. As a Wedding Venue it is very well suited in all weather and is a very beautiful historic building.

My mates got married here and it is a awesome little place. The decor is beautiful. It is perfect for small wedding and there're a lot of hotel and places to stay near by. It also has a cute little bar that is cash only (bit annoying) but there is a cash machine close by. Overall excellent day and location.

What a fantastic day we had at the Pilgrim's Rest. It could not have been a more wonderful venue for our daughter's wedding. Such a gorgeous old building, full of atmosphere, we hardly needed to decorate. The staff could not have been nicer, they were so helpful when we were planning the day with lots of great suggestions, but also relaxed about letting us do the things that we wanted unlike other venues we looked at. Thank you so much - a perfect day!

A stunning wedding venue. My daughter's wedding was held there and it was perfect. The two Amy's who oversee the planning and big day are just lovely - so helpful, knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. I can't recommend it highly enough

Gorgeous intimate wedding venue, attended an event here over the weekend and fell in love!!

Having visited the lovely restaurant over the years, I was overjoyed when I was invited to my dear friend's wedding there. The building lent itself to an intimate wedding without ever feeling small. I was told that the current building was built in the 1420s, and it felt truly amazing to be part of the storied history of celebrations that have taken place there over the years.

I must have missed something but having read the reviews on what a fab place it was we drove to Battle. We did try to phone ahead and the phone was disconnected so that should have given us a clue. But having driven there, got a place in the £4.50 car park we arrived to find it closed and a wedding only venue. It looks charming and the tea shop next door was very accommodating. I don’t want anyone else to make a special journey to visit, as you may be in for a disappointment.

A truly beautiful venue with staff who are very friendly and cannot be more helpful. Very flexible options too.

Went to a beautiful wedding at The Pilgrims. It was such an intimate venue that looked so twinkly and magical at night. Food was brilliant. Would 100% consider here for a party or wedding

Fantastic place for a wedding. Was great to be able for the us as bridesmaids to be able to get ready with the bride at the venue. Loved it!

We always go to the Nook when we are in Battle. At this time of the year the log fire is very welcoming along with Tres the owner who is there at make sure your every need is attend to. We take our grandchildren and who enjoy the home made cake. They now also sell home made marmalade in delightful jars to enjoy as a gift or for ones self. We hope to return soon

Nice and friendly when it’s cold there is a big log fire, rustic and welcoming. Lovely setting opposite the Abbey. Very much enjoyed the coffee.

Only three or four tables so quite small. Just coffee and other hot drinks available, sometimes there is cake or scone to be had. This place is like having a pit stop in a race, pull in-top up-move on. I personally prefer this to other places as there are less temptations to spend your hard earned on. Give it a try.

I've visited Battle Abbey twice, in summer and winter, and stopped at the Pilgrim's Rest Nook rustic cafe & shop both times for sumptuous scones and tea. You find it by walking out the front gate of Battle Abbey (right across the street to your left). What really makes it so enjoyable for me is the ambiance of that c.1420 wonky building and its warm, cozy rooms. The Pilgrim's Rest provided free accommodation to pilgrims coming to Battle Abbey 600 years ago to visit King Harold's resting place. It's a lot more comfortable today but still breathes history. Check out the circle with a dot in the center, carved into the window sill. It's an ancient carving. Ask the staff to point it out.

This place is right next to the abbey and is in a Grade 2 listed building. Amazing inside, the staff were all very welcoming and obviously very proud of their business and venue. Highly recommended

I was lucky enough to win an afternoon tea at this delightful Coffee/ Tea shop situated opposite Battle Abbey. A friend and I enjoyed delicious homemade cakes and scones made by the proprietors mum, and a pot of tea for each of us. Definitely worth a visit when visiting Battle.

What a find...we almost walked past since the signs are not very prominent.........hostoric, delightful, interesting beautifully cared for. We had teacakes, scones, hot chocolate and tea...all delicious, lots of home made cakes on offer as well. Wonderful service from knowledgeable staff. The menu also contains information about the history of this unique building. Thank you...can't wait to return.

This place knows how to do coffee. If you are anything like me and love coffee then you will be all too aware of the dross that can be served up in places claiming to serve "good" coffee. The Nook will not disappoint. Combine great coffee with the joyful happy and welcoming greeting along with the venue and you have an absolute gem. I thought the carrot cake would have to be wheeled out to us in a barrow such was the size of the thing! Goes without saying that this too was delicious. Highly recommended.

This is one of those typically British eateries that mixes eccentricity, history, pleasant service and lovely homemade food.The scones where super, good tea and coffee. A lovely fireplace that must be wonderful on a cold winters day. Along with a historic building, complete with medieval witches deterrents! Worth a visit.

An ideal place to stop for a quick cup of tea and a cake after wandering around the Battle Abbey sites. The staff are very friendly, the building oozes character and the scones are delicious!

We popped in for a most welcome coffee - delicious. What a charming place this is, situated in a very pretty, historic building. Friendly staff gave us a warm welcome and we enjoyed our chat with them. There is the bonus of free wifi.

Always a happy friendly welcome here. Lovely coffee and snacks. I had homemade cheese scones absolutely delicious. Right next to the Abbey the location is second to none. A few chairs outside weather permitting.

Myself and the wife popped in by chance and were treated to a pot of tea and a scone (with cream and jam) for a tenner, brilliant! (I have Jam first, she has creme. First )

We had some tea & lovely scones at The Nook as a late lunch. My husband visited it 6 years ago, and was happy to return to it. The owner is a very friendly woman, and she even got me some other jam than strawberry (which I am unfortunately allergic to). We sat outside and had a great view on Battle's main attraction. We can really recommend this place for a lovely afternoon tea and friendly service with a genuine smile.

Stopped here briefly for coffee and found it to be a quaint and interesting building. Sadly my cappuccino was not very hot but I chose not to complain.

We stopped for coffe & green tea in this very old establishment. Coffee & tea were good - we didn't have any of the snacks on offer, but they looked good & were being appreciated by those who indulged. Service extremely plesant and welcoming.

On a beautiful and sunny day, we visited Battle and find this little cafe nestling in a corner of the village. Soft drink and cake was very appealing and really enjoyed it. It was at the end of the day but there was some cakes left and staff pleasant and happy to serve even though it was getting later in the day. Sat outside but had to use the amenities which were nice and clean. Lovely village to visit and nice to take a seat at the Nook and enjoy the views!

Lovely grade 2 star listed building with charming garden and beautiful views of Battle Abbey right next door. Very friendly service. Unfortunately tea average using those horrible tea bags. Why not loose leaf tea. You can tell a lot about a tea shop by the quality of house tea on offer. Also food very average. Average cheddar cheese sandwich with tired salad and cheap crisps as well as cheap supermarket coleslaw. Scones were better. I feel bad about giving three blobs as service was so friendly and location great but the bottom line is I didn't say what a great afternoon tea this was
