Just a great local pub with steak nights on Tuesdays and Fridays. The owners are South African so they've got some speciality food and warm pork scratchings at the bar.

Can't say enough positive things about this pub. I've been in London for over a month, and finally found a fabulous Sunday roast and some really good food. I highly recommend the Sunday roast pork and beef... actually the lamb and chicken were excellent, too!!! You can order extra stuffing, and if you ask for extra gravy, they bring you a large bowl (and not a l ounce, tiny dish). We had nachos and wings on a 2nd visit and were amazed that they made the chips in house! Best nachos in UK by far!!!!! On Friday nights they serve cowboy rib eye steaks (you definitely need to book in advance) and it was so delicious! We had creamed spinach and mashed potatoes for sides, and I loved them both.

Oh wow haven’t eaten that bad in ages. Had a pulled pork burger which tasted like the meat was out all day. Disgusting and disappointing. You eat better at a spoons.

Pets are welcome. Both inside and outside. And staff are friendly and accommodating. Definately a nice pub.

A classic yet classy English pub with a good selection of beers and hearty pub-grub. Plenty outdoor options with their cosy beer garden, quirky pods and seating area out front too. A great date spot ! Or choice of venue to watch the football/ tennis with friends. The pig and whistle is a very special spot

The Pig & Whistle is a traditional pub with log burners and a cosy feel which is centrally located. The food is cooked to order using local produce from land to sea including; Dartmouth fresh fish, meat from local award winning butchers, and local vegetables. Great outside seating and secluded patio area with cover.

For a pub in Wimbledon/earlsfield, really well priced and food is too good to miss out on. I need to make this my daily dinner spot. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely environment and amazing smiley friendly staff. The food ( Sunday roast) was very nice! Hot and delicious, arrived just after a short wait. It wasn't our first time and definitely not the last. Would recommend to friends!

Rubbish pub. So disappointed as been before, but staff (particularly the lady who we assume is the manager) was really rude. We’d booked a table and called up to change the time and told it was no problem by a guy, but then when we arrived the table was booked for 60 minutes after our new booking time which meant there was little time to eat once food arrived. The food was mediocre: roasts very small portions; burgers dry and tasteless; and overpriced. Lots of other lovely alternatives

The worst pub food I have ever had! I visited on a Sunday with my two young children and was served food not fit for a pig, must explain and have some relevance to the name of this pub. Will never come again.

Hadn't been to the Pig & Whistle for nearly 40 years.......it's completely changed of course, but had a lovely evening with friends for a birthday. We doubled the average age! Great atmosphere, and the huge chicken wings and rib sharing platter kept all 6 of us replete with a meaty snack. Wonderful evening.

Food reasonably priced and good pub grub. Was here for Six Nations so busy and good atmosphere.

We were a large group meeting for drinks. We took the precaution of booking an area of the pub for our group and it worked very well. It was a Saturday evening and the pub was very busy with a convivial atmosphere. Service was very good.

We had the £35 dinner special. Really good value and the pork belly was fabulous

Very good service and good food

Excellent food at reasonable prices considering the average in the area. Cozy and warm atmosphere, good choices of drinks. Kids and dog (!) menus available and they also show games if you're looking for that. Big fan of the T-Bone Tuesdays. Just a small point of criticism, the 9£ boerewors for kids we had last week was a tiny single sausage and mash, honestly an unjustified price.

I wanted to update my previous review as I've seen a big improvement in both service and food quality since. My partner and I love coming here for a drink or two, it's such a cosy local pub which feels like home. Service could be a bit more welcoming, but like I said it's massively improved. The warm pork scratchings are so tasty and addictive!

Great quiz night and well kept local ales. The only pub I know you can buy half a pint of gravy for no other reason than you can !!

I visited the Pig & Whistle a few days ago with two others and we had burgers and a few drinks here. After inquiring about the allergen information after our meals, I was so impressed with the response I received from Keris and I would love to leave her a lovely review for being so thorough, attentive and caring. Eating out as a coeliac can be risky but I felt completely in safe hands after speaking to her. Thank you so much, we’ll definitely be coming back!! Kate xx

Excellent local pub. South African owners I believe, great selection of SA food and standard pub dishes. The BBQ Platter is an amazing feast! Great crisps and bar snacks. Watched all of the Rugby World Cup games here and the atmosphere was fantastic. Keep it up!

Good pub with great food! Visited the pub before for a few pints, very friendly staff which is recognised by others as gets busy with local peoplel living in the area. On this ocasion had some food which was very delicious and so fresh, loved the chilli sauce that comes with the burger, good portion sizes for a fairly price. Will always return here, and will try more of items from their menu.

Catered well for a rugby watching crowd. I'm sure it would be just as good on a non sport day

Foodwise this is by far the best pub in the area. Everything we have tasted so far was good but my personal favorite is the homemade pie. Service is fast and toilets are clean. They also have a dog menu which our dog enjoys. Garden space is rather small so if you only want to enjoy some drinks you can find nicer places around but if you want to eat a good meal this is the place.

A really nice local pub. A decent range of beers. The highlight for me is actually the delicious fresh pork scratchings that are kept warm in a bartop cabinet. So delicious with a beer. Most of the tables inside are typically showing as reserved, but the sign seems to go up hours before the reservation, so the tables are actually usually free for quite some time anyway.

A small pub, was quiet when there on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Friendly staff, food appears pricey but portions are generous which more than makes up for it. Good selection of draughts. Clean toilets.

Nice pub serving food. Lovely ambience. Went with a group of friends for late Sunday lunch. They had run out of various drinks on their spritzer menu and wouldn’t take a tab for the table even though most people were ordering food. Roast dinners were pretty good.

Popped in yesterday before 🎾🏆 today. Got a table straight away despite it being so busy with a lovely local multi-generational vibe. Good food, lovely staff. Do go

Love this pub small beer garden but well equipped with heaters and separate “beach style hut “ seatings. They do have a dog menu and sofa are genuinely welcomed not like in other places where they are tolerated

Bar staff bronwyn is miserable and doesn’t want to be there. Doesn’t come and clean glasses and not friendly do not enter on a Wendsday

Popped in for a drink and to do some work after a long muddy walk with my dog, was given a complimentary dog biscuit and encouraged to bring the muddy baby inside in the warm. We sat down and had some nachos which are excellent, and another dog biscuit warm out the oven! Safe to say the dog loves it and the two ladies who served us were wonderfully warm and welcoming. I only live down the street so I will be back frequently. Thank you so much!

Drink prices aren't too dear, food is on the dear side. I didn't eat here, but, looking at others, I thought about having something small, but the price put me off!

Superb pub with a South African twist, great vibe when arriving, managed to grab a table that hadn’t been reserved. Nice selection of beers and the food is outstanding, started with the nachos, then we saw a promotion for a sharing steak only available on fridays, we proceeded to devour the ribeye with 4 sides, staff were friendly and happy to help would highly recommend!! Side note, the desserts (brownie) are a unsung hero but make sure you make space!

Come in for couple drinks before going out for dinner, but decided to stay for dinner as the atmosphere and service was excellent.and food being served looked so good. And it tasted just as good! Amazing night. Now a regular!

Came for wine tasting. Staff super friendly and portions for both wine and nibbles were really good. Very relaxed and would definitely return

A great 'local' pub with a really nice vibe, it has a super range of drinks, does good food and is a wonderful place to watch sport on their tellies, mainly due to the atmosphere that prevails in this welcoming, dog friendly pub. Surprisingly it is also a place that you g families go especially on Sunday afternoons, probably due to the very good Sunday lunches. Always worth popping in for a quick one, only to settle, for two or three more. Great 'local' pub!!!

Saw the sign for TBone Tuesday and had to go. Been back 3 times since for more TBone Tuesday participation. At £17 for a good size TBone steak, 2 x sides and a sauce of your choice this is a bargain as well. No wonder it’s always packed and booking is almost always essential.

This is a great little pub. Good menu, shows Sky Sports and Bt Sports, cask/pump beers available. Has a real homely feel about it with books on the shelf and board games in front of the fireplace. A couple of little outside spaces as well. Well worth a visit.

Staff uninterested in serving you, one was picking her nose. Asked for a medium Burger was told they come as they come then got a rare burger.

Truly awful customer service. Woman serving at the bar today could barely be arsed to look at me. She wasn't exactly run off her feet, either. Just me and another couple. Haven't visited this pub in a few years and won't be returning anytime soon. Abysmal.

A fantastic eclectic venue/pub for all to enjoy... Staff are very professional and helpfully friendly. with a great selection of beers, spirits and a fantastic menu, especially the Sunday roast at £13.95 with all the trimmings. It's also very dogs friendly, with even a Dog menu for your Mut... Lovely diverse beer garden with personal beach hut booths and tables with plenty of space.

Grim customer service. Made a res over the phone noting 2 kids in the group for 7:30pm: arrived and was only told then we needed to be out by 8pm & they wouldn’t be able to serve us all so quickly. I get the rules (& was reminded they were hidden on the website) but they should have told me when I phoned. Manager was apologetic but there was little understanding or compensating leaving us high and dry at the last moment with 2 hungry kids.

We absolutely love, love, love The Pig!! Not only is the food out of this world but we're always welcomed with open arms from the owners Keris & Lee. Whenever we have family or friends visiting, we head to The Pig for a guaranteed good meal and friendly atmosphere.
