Il Molino in Wandsworth

My wife’s birtday ruined.All the problems emanated from the kitchen where the chef showed complete disregard for our party of eight.All the starters were miserly and tasteless.For the main course the fish(£24) was the size of a fish finger and the three roasted potato’s were each the size of an oxo cube.The anchovy sauce was not appropriate and over powered the fish. One of the steaks(£44) was made up of 40% inedible fat.For our youngest member his pizza arrived when everyone else had finished eating.They say they encourage feed back but the manager has not responded to our complaint hence this revue.

Lovely cafe. Choose Il Molino over Pique next door and chose here as the ambience suited me better. The coffee was top top mark! The service was excellent and staff were very friendly. I was a little disappointed with the pastry. I tried the orange Polenta cake which was a little dry. However can’t fault anything other than that and will be returning

This one was ideal, sandwiches were great, coffee was good, the sweet things were delicious too and it has good option of choices for food. Nice place for a quick bite and catch up

I visited this place today… the pastries were nice, but, the coffee extremely overpriced - the typical place that u just try once and never do back to! You guys should reconsider your prices! They are not balanced with what you offer or even with the amenities/comfort of the venue .

Owner regularly blocks side road next to restaurant. Today he caused me to sit 10 min on my road due to his bad driving/parking. And no it was definitely you the owner blocking the small side road at the back which caused a backlog and stuck traffic.

Visited this cafe for the first time while walking past as it looked nice. I entered was ignored for a good while and then the staff member served someone behind me in the queue. It was incredibly rude. It’s a small thing but it gave such a bad vibe and I won’t be returning.

It's lovely to find a friendly and different place to enjoy a coffee and Danish. Welcoming young lady served a very good flat white. I am not local but would be a regular here if it were possible.

Used to eat here alot but on a recent visit was disappointed,I got lasagne and salad and for 11.95 the portion was extremely small! The lasagne portion was ridiculous however it did taste nice.

Allergy warning. I am allergic to pistachio nuts and asked for one of the small lemon croissant pastries. They confirmed this was lemon. Bit into it and the filling was green - had to then ask and they said yes it was pistachio. Staff didn’t even apologise and had no appreciation for how serious the situation could have been. Unbelievably poor.

Shop open till 5. We appeared, visiting area for event, about 4.20 ish. Staff member made it clear they closed at 5!! OK. We just wanted a brew. She was not happy and made it very clear to us she wasn't. Shame

Croissants and pastry are always stale. Literally, every day, every time I have some faith and try again hoping they’d be fresh… they never are. The food too is just below average. It’s just a cute looking place and they lure you in. I just can’t believe how overrated this place is.

Great coffee.... Nice old building

Sweet little cafe, although was very surprised at the prices. Felt was unreasonable to pay £16 for a tiny bit of quiche side salad(which was very basic and only 1 chunk of falafel) and orange juice. I love going to independent cafes but don’t feel the service was particular good. Lots of lovely places to eat around Clapham Junction which are much more reasonable!

Cute little coffee stop. They have a nice selection of savoury lunch type foods and some Italian cakes and sweets. They sell some niche imported Italian bakes including a delectable brand of panatone. Coffee is tasty, smooth and made well. They do nice smoothies too.

Covid restrictions appear to have hit Il Molino hard. I visited the café on one of my first weeks moving to the area and haven't been back, nor would I recommend it. The look and feel of the place is outstanding and you're immediately taken to somewhere in Europe. However, this is where the magic ends. The coffee has hints of greatness but for the most part is low quality and the service felt unenthusiastic. This is of no fault to the barista however; as it felt under-staffed and that is most likely a result of the pandemic. Edit: It seems I gave them a benefit of the doubt by attributing their poor customer service to Covid-19. Clearly the customer is still their lowest priority as they tell me to F.O. If you see this review - just go elsewhere. There are plenty of other café's within a 5 minute walk.

Little cosy cafe place! They do breakfast, lunch and great cakes. Is my favourite cafe place around Clapham, I will definitely keep coming back ! Staff is super friendly and lovely, specially Maria.

We've been going here once or twice a week since November to get take-away coffees/paninis. The food is great but the staff/service is really poor: - We frequently have issues with our orders being incorrect (i.e. multiple customer's paninis going in the toaster, we getting someone else's, or ordering a latte and getting a black Americano). This is bit silly given we order the same thing every time and have been regulars for months now. - The staff regularly refuse to stamp our loyalty card. They just smile and say they'll do it later. - The staff are constantly changing. There is without fail a new person every time, so the coffee is very very hit and miss. - Staff often aren't wearing masks - there was an instance where a staff member went out from behind the counter, hugged a friend outside the shop (whilst we were queuing out down the road!), came back in and resumed handling food without changing her plastic gloves/washing hands. You want to support local cafes, and I love the Italian range here, but we're drawing a line and are taking our custom elsewhere.

I paid around £5.50 for a chicken, cheese and pesto panini that wasn’t of good quality.

Lady who served me today was definitely having a bad day. I can't believe how careless she was while serving me. She also changed the price of my iced coffee (+30p) while preparing it without any reason. Someone should teach her what is customer service about. At least say thank you and make eye contact after your clients pay. it is not that difficult. By the way, my partner was served by a guy and experience was great! Hats off to him!!

I went here on Saturday morning after staying with a friend in the area. It was nice and quiet and i was pleasantly surprised at the amount of variety they had on offer. The coffee was exceptional, one of the best I've had to be honest! Much nicer than the chain coffee shops! The almond croissant was great as well. When I'm back in the area I will definitely be returning.

Nice food and service usually, unfortunately today the experience wasn't pleasant. I told the young lady twice that I want an outside sitting, she said of course but brought me food and coffee in paper box/cup. I was really surprised (there was a man drinking coffee from a normal mug at another table), and asked for at least some cutlery. The girl said in an annoyed manner that they were "just there", went inside and brought me wooden cutlery, throwing it onto the visibly dirty table. I have no idea what happened to her but would ask to pay a little more attention to the customers.

Lovely italian charm in lavender hill. A really good place to go. Been going lately to pick my espresso and it's for sure the best I've had in that area. Really nice welcoming staff. And as a chef I need to say that the food shelf always looks really tempting from the pistachio cannolis to the colourful fresh looking sandwiches.

Perfect local bakery, definitely try the amazing Italian sandwiches and nice coffee or chai latte!

Not really my type of cafe, but the place was alright. The staff was not really that helpful and quite slow, but the coffee tasted alright, just like an average coffee but a bit overpriced.

Service was ok I suppose but food was way too oily and tasteless. Why is it that all italian pasta dishes no matter how different the name of it is it all tastes exactly the same. Bland, tasteless, boring.

Went there for breakfast and had a great coffee with Italian panini, croissants, Portuguese pasteis de nata or tasty muffins.

Very nice food and strong coffee. I had to ask for a one shot and they were happy to replace my coffee as I found it too strong. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend it

Along with the rude staff, the Italian cakes were super dry and had clearly been out too long. We ordered pasta and it never arrived, and the whole experience was really disappointing considering the potential of the place and the money we spent. Huge shame.

Just moved in To Lavender Hill and found this terrific cafe. They have a simple breakfast menu but it is well prepared and tasty. Got introduced to Marco and the staff on Sunday. All are very happy and welcoming which you want from a restaurant. You feel as if you are dining in an Italian Home. I love coffee and they serve up a terrific blend; true Italian not like the syndicated coffee shops where the coffee is ordinary and people dine solely for the internet connection. There is none of that nonsense here. You are there to eat good found, drink excellent coffee served by wonderful happy people.
