Pier Masala in Newham

Ordered the lamb tikka masala from Deliveroo and it was the worst takeaway I've ever received. It literally had no flavour and was so watery. It tasted like a defrosted sauce that just came out of freezer and was reheated hence why it was delivered in 15 mins. The naan was also tasteless. Your off better eating from a hospital. Terrible!!

Just ordered an Uber Eats from this place, this was a Boxing Day bonanza for us. I dont usually leave reviews the food was so amazing it got me out of my comfort zone to sign up to google and leave my first review. We ordered a variety of currys to share. - King Prawn Curry - Meat Bhuna - Chicken Shashlick - Tarka Dal - Chicken Biriyani - Garlic Chilli Chicken The smell was amazing as the food arrived. We started to tuck in, as i complimented the food my son suggested i should let the restaurant know on google which is why im here. I had taken these photos halfway as i was eating, so my apologies for the bad camera work. The King Prawns was amazing, the Chicken Biriyani was from heaven. My son and daughter inlaw loved the Garlic Chilli Chicken, Shahslick chicken, King Prawn and Meat Bhuna. My husband loved the Meat Bhuna, Tarka Dal and King Prawns. I mean all the dishes were our favourites across the board. All the right notes were hit with us. We kept some leftovers in a pot for tomorrow! Can't wait! Thank you Pier Masala! Maybe next time we'll come and eat in.

Ordered food from Uber, delivery time was accurate. But I could really taste the difference between Korma and the Chef’s Butter Chicken, also the curry was very watery as on the photo. The Naan bread or really good but they also forgot it from our order but the service was fast and the driver came quick to complete the order.

Very disappointed. Ordered pilau and got plain boiled rice, Chicken dish was very bland, no sophisticated spices. Oily texture. and chicken tasteless and had the texture of being very low quality. Poppadoms were stale, Onion bhajis were extremely over fried and inedible. Overall, a waste of money and tasted like a cheap supermarket ready meal. Just didn’t taste freshly cooked. Money wasted, food binned.

Ordered via Uber eats. Food came in a timely manner. Ordered Chicken Korma, Chicken Madras and Lamb Saag. Sauce was watery, wasn't rich in flavour and not much meat.

We have been ordering from Pier Masala for 4 years now. Tasty meals, fast delivery, never had any troubles. Highly recommended.

(i order from liam naylor on just eat) nothing less than a 5 star service from Pier Masala always. dishes always come hot and fresh, plenty of vegetarian options and stellar service. i typically get my Motor Paneer with no peas but forgot to put it on one day so they called me and asked if i wanted no peas. top tier customer service and my main choice for a takeaway. keep it up guys 👍🏻

Nothing less than 5 star service from this place. Food is absolutely delicious, staff are incredibly polite and friendly. The service is very quick and efficient. The restaurant is always clean and very well kept. Hygiene standards in this place is high. Been to this restaurant 4 or 5 times now, and not a single fault on any occasion. Definitely a favourite, will be going more often!

Full of lies!! The pics looked lovely but this is Def not what was there it was a shabby little takeaway with a couple of chairs and tables I ordered a pizza which gave me food poisoning!! And it wasn’t even cooked properly it was a 7” pizza and looked like a mini Chicago town pizza avoid at all costs if u need food go to Stratford on the train

Have visited many times because this is the only restaurant in the area. Did not click the food. We ordered dal tadka was not fresh and there was a weird smell. Noodles ordered were not good at all. Taste is not good at all. Veg pizza was good though

Avoid by all means the other day I went there to buy one dish then I was treated in very strange way weird looks by the teenager they put at the reception he literally said six pounds then after he put it in the paying machine he said 6.5 very fast I told him why then I took my card of the machine and he changed it to six and he said 10 minutes I told why was it 6.5 he left me and went inside!!! this people is very rude and I think they are racist or something because that is weird attitude their chicken madrases was disgusting the chicken is really old and strong to chew you need to be careful eating and this place unfortunately Bangladeshi takeaways is known for having this kind of issue with the meat quality be very careful

The manager and the peeps at Pier masala are one of the kindest people i have met. They nearly reduced a good amount in the total bill to look after students like us. Best Indian food in the area, love the Paneer and the cheese naans, absolutely lovely. Will be coming in one day instead of uber eats to uel! Cant wait to see the masters of cooking in real life!

Pier masala is without a doubt the best Indian restaurant i have experienced. The biriyani is enriched with flavour and as if I couldn’t have asked for more they have now added pizza to their menu.

I dined at this restaurant during my visit to university of east london. Yummy food ( I had paneer tikka with naga chilli in it ) and of-course naan and rice. Owner was very welcoming and listen to my food requirements. I like really spicy food so he used naga chilli in my curry. Absolutely loved it. Will Definitely visit again and this time, want to try their naga chilli pizza. So you like super spicy food MUST visit 👍🌶😁

Recently moved to the area. Thought I’d try as 3 mins from us and excellent reviews!! So ordered via website! Entered address twice! As website wasn’t displaying the correct address on entry? So called to make sure they understood the correct address! Get call! Driver sent to wrong address! We waited for him to arrive downstairs. He was waving the bag around and double checking with restaurant! Despite having the correct address and my partner’s telephone number (which just rang)😟 Finally get the food our, excited, our first takeaway! Food seeping out of bags. Lukewarm. Greasy marks. Typically my partner was starving so ate some of his with extra chilli 🌶. My butter chicken was greasy lumpy gloopy completely inedible! 🤮. So I only has onion Bhaji Partner so disappointed, rang to complain! Kept being offered a new butter chicken. But by this stage I couldn’t face it! Partner asked for a refund and said he would leave bad review. Was told “You’re new to the area! Watch your back”. Asked if it was a threat ? Phone put down! Be careful 😡

Got a mixed grill today. The lamb chops were too salty and it was over cooked. Same flavours from all the meat and it only looked great because it had food colouring in it, so will give it a overall 1 out 10 maybe pushing it a 2. The sauces were quite bland, not the best you could get. The only tastiest part was the naan and that was a 3 overall out of 5. Wouldn't recommend this place to be honest rather get a kebab, if your thinking to get abit of meat and maybe naan. Very disappointed of this place

Pier Masala is one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to I found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the food delightful I have tried various dishes at Pier Masala and found them all to be of very high quality I would personally recommend the chicken tikka masala which I found to be excellent my wife enjoyed the lamb tikka we will be visiting again thank you Pier Masala

Peir Masala is a fantastic Indian restaurant I have eaten here for about 6months I've never had any complaints I recommend the lamb or chicken Masala which is very tasty or chicken Madras which is also excellent I highly recommend this restaurant the owner Abdul is a very friendly guy who appreciates his customers

I checked reviews before i had a takeaway so only right i leave a review. I saw some good feedback on the garlic chilli chicken masala so i gave it a go im normally a madrass man but i was NOT disappointed. It was ready for collection fast and the food was fresh as a daisy. Definitely be returning

Worst Indian food I have ever had. Vindaloo - a red watery mess... it came with no potatoes.... even though its advertised as coming with on their website. I called the restaurant and they said their customers no longer wanted potatoes in a vindaloo....ridiculous. Chicken Jafrezi - see the pics its a watery mess, disgusting, using the same sauce as they used in the Vindaloo but less spice. Keema narn - dry, not much mince and totally tasteless. Bombay aloo - i swear its not a lie when say I had to spit the potato out my mouth, it tasted and smelt rotten. These guys need a visit from the health inspector. £30 down the drain, it all went in the bin. See my attached pictures for evidence of the filthy food these guys serve up.

Ordered a delivery which all went smoothly and pleasingly quick. However the food itself was very disappointing. I got a lamb balti with pilau rice and a plain naan bread which, with the delivery fee, came to almost £17. The curry was over soggy and barely edible, the naan and pilau rice were cold and dry.

We ate here on the off chance and the food was very good indeed as was the service. It’s a small restaurant and doesn’t serve alcohol but has great lassi’s to wash the great curry down with.

Staying at beckton premier Inn for a couple of nights and not wanting the pub fayre attached to the hotel we googled options and this restaurant came up. Short bus ride but worth the journey. Excellent starters and perfectly spiced mains. I'd visit again

I like a nice curry. Walked into an empty restaurant and sat down. The host seemed a bit tired and not with the program. Had the freshly made poppadums and chutneys - really nice. Followed up with a tandoori mixed grill, garlic naan and a side of dhal. Again, really nice. Ate the lot and it was lovely. If in the area again, I’ll revisit. The only thing I think a new patron ought to know is that they can’t offer beer as they have no license.

We moved to the area recently. 3 of us visited in November for sit down meal. We ordered starters, 3 mains and lots of sides-none of which were very good (except the peshwari naan which was lovely!). The dansak was much spicier than I’ve had elsewhere, unbearably hot in fact! The staff were really lovely and friendly, but it doesn’t excuse the food! We ordered a takeaway for collection this time for 4 of us. I was extremely disappointed by my chicken tikka masala, the curry was runny and watery, it had no flavour or spice. The chicken was very poor quality! And a real shame they don’t offer vegetable options for the regular curries! The other meals ordered did not meet expectations- dry, small onion bhajis, poor quality curries, dry naan breads. Such a shame as it’s the only nearby Indian restaurant, but will gladly travel further afield than return here!

Went to this restaurant with my husband and we thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband really enjoyed his vindaloo curry and I liked my lamb biryani.

The table was all laid out when we arrived. Waiter was real friendly and informative. We had a slight discrepancy when the bill arrived but it was dealt with swiftly. Food was real tasty too

Fantastic little place that we stopped into for dinner during our stay near the airport. Tandoori King Prawn Masala and Lamb Jalfrezi were very tasty, and just the right size portions! Egg fried rice had great flavor and both the garlic and keema naan were cooked to perfection. Ignore the other irate reviews..though a small inside dining room ( take-out is obviously the main business here) it was a pleasant experience and delicious. Would definitely come back!

I stayed in a bed and breakfast in the area and was looking for somewhere to enjoy a meal. Pier Masala came highly recommended. I received a very friendly welcome, prompt service and the food arrived in a reasonable time. The food was tasty and of a good standard. I particularly appreciated the subdued atmosphere and lighting, and the quiet atmosphere. This is definitely a restaurant I would return to when I'm back in the neighbourhood.

Staying overnight at a hotel before flying out the next day, I wanted one last curry fix. My UberEats order didn't go through, so I contacted the restaurant directly; easy to place order, delivered hot and at promised time, great flavors, fresh ingredients and a very fair price (cheaper than UberEats). Very Very Good .... Would not hesitate to order again.

This is the first time i have used this restaurant and after years of looking for a good Indain Takaway i think I have found one, This is one one the best, I placed a very large order for 13 adults and asked for it to be delivered, when it arrived it was very hot ( A good sign) We all sat down to eat it and everyone said this was very tasty and very good infact not one bit of food was left we eat the lot, Thanks guys and thanks Abdou we will be definitley be using your restaurant again and again.

Ordered delivery while staying at an airport hotel. The food was absolutely delightful (chicken jalfrezi, rice, naan and poppadums). No excess oil on the sauce, and the chicken perfectly cooked and fresh tasting. The delivery driver was right on time, and really pleasant and courteous about having to wait a bit. I cannot wait for my next opportunity to dine here. Thoroughly recommended.

Having moved to Barrier Appoint in East London we tried our first Takeaway. The food was authentic and superb and how Indian Restaursnts used to be. No more to be said really it was absolutely superb and we will now be regular

Waiter recommended us some tea, but it wasn't in menu. We thought that is't a present (free one). After checking the bill, there was 2,5 pounds for masala tea price!!! He didn't say anything about it. So the tea price is really high! Be careful. And try not order dishes with fish. Small portion and no taste of fish.

Well, to be ohnest this place is nothing special. The owner/waiter wasn't really polite. Description is misleading is not an Indian restaurant, it's a Pakistani one. Food was so so, waited too long. Fish dish was really awful. The most disappointed thing was a Masala tea, the guy was offering us it over and over and then put £2,5 per cup! So all in all, I wouldn't recommend this place, there are plenty of similar which are way better in terms of price, quality, taste and owner attitude towards clients.

I visited here with two friends and we had a great dinner. Food quality was good, and portions were plentiful. Note that they don’t have an alcohol licence, so no beer! Service was also good.

Pasamos la noche en el aeropuerto de London City entre vuelos y nos apetecía un curry. Encontré el Pier Masala en Trip Advisor y fue un corto viaje en taxi a un costo de 6 gbp. La comida era excelente, con poppadums muy frescos y una maravillosa masagh murgh. Es estilo café y económico y muy buena relación calidad-precio. Nos costó conseguir un taxi a nuestro hotel y el propietario del Pier Masala nos llevó de vuelta en su propio automóvil, ¡lo que realmente está haciendo un esfuerzo adicional!

Delicious Indian cuisine. I had a great time with my friends for a first experience in an indian restaurant. Good service. I loved the chicken masala and chicken korma. The delicious chutneys with poppadom was great.
