Aromas Tandoori Restaurant in Newham

This was our first visit to the restaurant. The food was very enjoyable, mostly Indian but with additional Nepalese dishes. We had meat courses but the vegetarian choice is one of the largest I have seen on a menu. Very enjoyable, will definitely be visiting again.

Food arrived hot and on time, Daal was flavourful, baigan tasted slightly sweet and also seasoning was muted in flavour compared to everything else. We always enjoy the food from here so overall was a good experience.

Food was a bit salty and pakoras were dry which is a shame as food is usually excellent.

The food was not nice. The taste of chicken butter was who was like he has a sweet on it the garlic bread was all all over garlic, I could not eat it. I will never ever order food from this restaurant ever again. It’s just a waste of money

Dont bother ordering for collection or delivery from here because they wont make your food. They will confirm the order, tell you the food is ready and then refuse to make or give you the food you have paid for. Apparently it is not the restaurants responsibility to prepare an order they have confirmed themselves it is the customers. The only reason given as to why my food couldnt be made was ‘they dont have a laptop’

A fine dine in with variety of quality Indian and Pakistani food. The roti and curry was so fresh and tasty. Staff is very pleasant and helpful.

My daughter and I had Timur lamb, honey wala with chicken, Masala, pilau rice and butter roti. Everything was finger-licking good. thank you, Chef and thank you to the lovely man who served us. God bless

The comments already posted seem pretty accurate; good quality food and service at a fair price, but atmosphere a tad lacking.One of my party said the prawn puri was lacking in taste, but everything else fine. My vegetable jalfrezi was great, as was my garlic naan. Helpful waitress. However, no coffee available at conclusion of the meal, which seemed a bit strange to me, even though an offer of an instant coffee was made, but politely declined. All in all, a pleasant experience, and would return. My friends have been here numerous times before.

We ate vegan as my friend is vegan and we wanted to share dishes. Delicious onion bhaji, main dishes were superb. We parked outside and they placed us by the window so we could watch out for traffic wardens! Service was excellent and all for under £50 for 2 of us. We will be back!

Wow, all the way from Leeds to stay with some friends 'round the corner and discovered this little gem. Having eaten in many, many high to budget end curry places over the years this ranks near the top. Outstanding food, not heavily spiced or drowning in salt. Good vegan range (my meat scoffing friends were equally happy). And London prices not in sight, and coming from Yorkshire this made me even happier. Heartily recommended. Oh and friendly staff and great service. Meal for three + starters.

Go here loads, was a bit let down tonight. Mutton rara was not as good as normal. Still better than most on a bad night tbf. Will deffo co.e back as usually a 9/10.

I ate pallak lamb with three rotis and dahi, washing it down with a large cobra. As usual food was excellent, tasty, well prepared and authentically Nepalese, service welcoming and professional. I’d recommend turning up and checking the specials boards. The timur lamb is a big favourite. Vegetarians might try the chana chaat.

I’ve recently moved to Forest Gate and had heard from friends about how good this place is. We finally went last night. What a great restaurant. The best curry I’ve had in a long time. Will be returning, many times.

Fresh, fragrant, full of flavour.

Have been coming here for years and thought would return after some time. Biryani was nice and plentiful but made the mistake of requesting standard yoghurt to soothe the spicyness -we have done this countless times and never been charged, as it's never been chargeable- just a bit of tasteless yoghurt. However, today the bill came and we were shocked to read £9 for two small bits of yoghurt- who charges this much for yoghurt we wondered?! We returned to clarify and discovered that one menu states the biryani is served with raita- we had requested yoghurt minus cucumbers- after some confusion we gave up trying to explain. The staff have always been lovely and it must be that things were lost in communication- However, we left feeling sad and a litle deceived today and wondered if Aromas had been a little sneaky with us- subsequently we left with a bad taste in our mouths and not just from the yoghurt.. unlikley we will return anytime soon which we also felt sad about as this place has served up some good food for us over the years.

Excellent service and even better food - can’t recommend thus simple looking establishment enough. Give it a try - you’ll never go anywhere else locally.

Went with three others. All curry lovers, two vegetarian. All enjoyed and thought both mains and sides were well cooked with correct heats etc. Ambience was good and Nepalese as was the Gurkabeer we drank although not many people in when we went (Sunday evening) so a bit lacking in atmosphere. Hope the restaurant does well - it deserves to.

Went here for dinner with my boyfriend and his dad. Staff were amazing, food was top quality and the whole atmosphere was amazing. Aromas' presentation was some of the best I've ever seen in an Indian restaurant. And the livelihood of seeing food coming out still cooking and the small yet cozy seating area was fantastic. Ended up being one of the best places I've ever went out to and I would highly recommend!

Eventhough food was late because of breakdown or something. The food was tasteless. Prawn biryani and chicken biryani felt same other than the meat. Sides are also not good

Thanks to Aromas for providing a fantastic meal for our family group. The food was superb and very tasty. Everybody loved the food and it has become a family tradition. The service is prompt, efficient and super friendly. We are lucky to have this restaurant in Forest Gate!

When I moved to Forest Gate last year, Aromas soon became mine and my partner's favourite restaurant, and we try our best to bring as many of our close friends as we can. It's the fresh delicious made food that feels like home; it's Kirry's wonderful and kind service; it's the music! Our favourites are the Fish Tikka Bhuna, the Honey Wala fish tikka Masala, and the Timur Lamb. Amazing food, wholesome service, joyful music. Highly recommend!

Eating at Aromas last night was a great experience. The food was excellent and the service helpful and not pushy. It has a lovely atomsphere and as mentioned the food was delicious and substantial. Thoroughly recommended, the best Indian restaurant I know!

All round excellent as per usual from Aromas. Delivered early (improvement on previous delivery times) and food was hot and fresh. Very tasty and delicious, only improvement would be the poppadoms as they were a bit chewy? But they were complimentary so no issue really. Lamb Tikka Masala was banging, paneer was spot on and the paratha was great. This repeat customer will certainly be back!

The best curry place in London. The chicken momos are brilliant, as is the vindaloo. Honestly everything is outstanding but you have to get the mutton rara. It's seriously delicious. Get a Gurkha beer to go with the meal, they are large and tasty. You should probably plan several visits so you can work your way through the whole menu. But always get the mutton rara.

Me and my sister used to go once a month when we lived in the area. The food was amazing and the price was good as well. If you like spicy food that's your place!

Butter chicken was amazing but there was hardly any of it. Mainly sauce. Poppadoms were soft. Lamb chops were over seasoned.

Best chicken vindaloo of my life, the mutton rara is a standout, chicken momos so deliciously delicate & balanced in flavour that we took ages to eat them so we could savour every bite. But my god those lamb chops. Sorry Tayyabs, there’s a new king in town & I don’t mean Charles. Aromas chops are firmly number one. The staff are just bloody lovely, our waitress in particular was great fun and just a pleasure to hang out with, they serve gorkha beers and it only came to £25 a head!!! I’m overjoyed, seriously overjoyed!

Very good papadoms and spicy Katai Chicken! Kingfisher for the win. A bit of a noisy street but the music and the fisher are making it up. The host was very friendly.

Just in forest Gate for a flying visit. Fancied an Indian so did the classic Google search and found this amazing place. I don't even do reviews but had to leave one as the food was the best food I've tasted 😋. The service was great and the place has been updated from the photos online not that that matters.will definitely be coming back when I'm here again.

I ordered Mutton rara was my first time ordering and thought £11.99 was expensive for just one dish but ordered it anyway and I’m glad I did .. it was the best curry I’ve ever had . Everything was hot fresh and spiced & cooked perfectly. Thank you 🙏🏽
