Wonderful Malaysian bistroit with delicious dishes and very friendly service in the middle of the shopping mall

Rasa has become our go to restaurant in Westfield Stratford. The food is awesome and service is quick and friendly. Special thanks to Chef Arjun and Front staff Johan for making our experience enjoyable!

Amazing :) one of my favourite places to eat. I’ve been going to Rasa for years and even though I don’t live in the UK anymore I still make an effort to have a plate there or get a delivery whenever I’m visiting. Tasty food, fast service and lovely people. My dad was Malaysian and he also loved it, so that tells you something!

The food was good but quantity was less Solehah Arjun

Really wanted an Asian dessert and Cafe Rasa didn’t disappoint! I enjoyed my cendol and pandan-coconut pancakes and will be coming back for a proper meal next time!

It's like a fast food type of place, you need to order at the counter n pay first. Food was disappointing. Satay n the peanut sauce fell short of authentic. Sirap bandung too. Nasi lemak was OK.

Amazing place for dine in and for takeaways. Chef Ryan personally came to see food quality and service standard. Sohela on checkout was very knowledgeable about the dishes and recommendation from her was amazing. Loved the food and service standard. Very clean inside and outside. Will definitely come back. Hospitable staff, chill atmosphere and delicious food. What more can you ask for. Yasmin, who happens to work behind the counter, always greets with a genuine smile and just makes you feel as ease. Pyan the chef is the secret behind the delicious meals they have to offer. Overall, I highly recommend this place 👌

I have come here 3 times now. Service and food is always very very good. Today Pyan was the chef. Very kind and food was great. He gave us extra sambal and I love it. Yasmin was also very hospitable both times we have been there.

i have bought from this place a couple of times but i really felt that the quality of food has gone down. the nasi ayam aka chicken rice was so bland, the fried chicken wasnt really fried imo, the chicken was so tough. moving on to the kway teow goreng, i asked for very spicy, it wasnt spicy at all and uts very salty. i am absolutely disappointed. as a singaporean i also expected to have better sauces for chicken rice and not thai sweet chili and soy sauce?

Googled where to eat Malaysian and this restaurant popped up & so glad it did! Amazing chef, service and hosting: lots of super recommendations of what to eat with what and even got chatting to an amazing couple on the table next to me, also full of advice and suggestions. Can’t recommend this spot enough! Even had my Malay improved!! Will defs be returning again and again! A****

Food was very delicious and full of flavour, big portions and worth the money.

Tried nasi lemak beef rendang, karipap and bandung for the first time. It all tasted very good and flavorful. Would definitely recommend the karipap and bandung.

I had Nasi Lemak in this cafe for the first time and I can’t stop thinking about it. There are few foods that taste so good that you take the experience with you for days. This is one of them. I’ve also had the vegetable curry and the banana fritters. All with incredible flavours and some of the best food I’ve ever had. The waiter/waitresses are extremely kind, next time I’m in London, I’ll definitely come back here.

Real disappointed with the meal I order Prawn goreng noodle and Tea Tarek hot Noodle was real salty and tea was luke warm is not up to the standard which I paid for £20 😡👎 just had two spoonful I left and go .

Great fresh food We had the karipap and murtabak and a kopi tarik so lovely Malaysian coffee was a bit too sweet for a diabetic but with friends just tasting it we treated it like desert So lovely and polite staff were great

Went there last night with friends. Got chicken laksa which taste good. Asked for spicy level and it was quite spicy. The service was ok and the waiter was nice. Had the ipoh chicken laksa for £12.99 and teh tarik for £4? Total was about 18something. However one of my friend's order never arrived. Ordered roti jala but it never came until we finished. And need to go quickly to go to other shop before they close so completely forgotten until back at home. Didnt get recipe or anything so idk.

The front staff that assisted me was Johan and the chef was Shazwan. The service was great and the food was delicious. The food was very filling. We didn’t have to wait long. The shop felt very comfortable.

I’ve visited this small restaurant on several occasions and the food as well as service has always been great. Would highly recommend for authentic Malaysian food!

Staff were normal / helpful (though they've never tried Singaporean laksa before). Atmosphere was alright (can't complain about the store being a mall store). The curry laksa was honestly the weirdest / worst I've ever had (and the only one I didn't finish in London - note I've tried a lot of Laksa around London). I've never seen broccoli, carrots, kale and cauliflower in a laksa before (these veggies aren't native to that region and aren't shown in the picture of the laksa in the menu). For some bizarre reason, there was also a tomato (which was shown). These flavours don't synergize the laksa. The soup had mild curry flavour but that was basically it. There was no fishy aroma from the sambal or coconut flavour from the coconut cream (if they added any). The noodles were super soggy like instant noodles. The best part is that they have an authentic picture of a laksa on their walls! I hope management reflects on this and that this was a one off. Kopi was alright but too sweet for my liking. Would definitely not recommend coming here for the laksa especially for the price you're paying.

Our first time exploring Malaysian food and it was a delightful symphony of flavours. The bold and aromatic Nasi Goreng (chicken) was exceptional!!Thanks to kind staff Danish and chef Arjun! They both were exceptional. Rasa is true taste of Malaysia 🇲🇾

We had a late breakfast early lunch. We ordered a Murtasak and Roti Chanai - was lovely. Highly recommend.

The nasi lemak was not it… mushy rice and can still see some of the coconut bits. Sambal was sweet rather than spicy and the fried chicken was pretty average. Service wasn’t great either - had to ask for tap water thrice and was made to pay service charge before even getting the food. Not authentic unfortunately!

Quite wonderful food and lovely friendly staff.

This is overpriced, as pretty much all eateries in Westfield are. I regret spending £4.90 on a few crackers. What was I thinking. The murtabak was really not nice. It was served with daal which was OK, but the murtabak itself was dry and the beef minimal. It was £8.90. Also, seeing as I had to go up and order (and the seating is cramped and I'm fairly slim) why am I paying a 12.5% service charge? The place itself feels a bit rundown (cramped, a bit dingy, menu sellotaped together) which I wouldn't care about if the food was decent. It wasn't great food and certainly not worth the price. I came here once before, a few years ago and it was delicious and worth the money. The murtabak was better then.

Genuine Malay food well spiced, cooked to perfection and reasonably priced! Service was fast , courteous and extremely friendly!! I recommend this excellent restaurant wholeheartedly!!!

The food is good - decent hit of Malaysian flavour but not as good as other Malaysian spots in London. Find it confusing that there is a service charge added on given it is in the middle of a shopping mall /near an entrance. I was also charged for an extra piece of lime 🤔🫠

My first time here, I didn't find the food especially good compared to other Malaysian restaurants I've been to around London, there 2 others that come to mind which I feel is much better at the same price. The staff are very nice and customer service is good l, atmosphere and presentation is nice and it does get quite busy in evenings.

The soup was first class. I commend staff named Badrul Ashman for the good advice when choosing the menu and offered an efficient service. Keep it up Badrul and the team at Rasa a taste of malaysia restaurant.

Coming all the way from Johor, it was nice to have an authentic taste of Malaysia in the UK. The variety of dishes ranges from the classic mee goreng, char kway teow, nasi lemak, rendang, to pisang goreng, ketayap and my favourite bandung and cendol, they have it all. The staff was also very courteous and welcoming, props to Front Staff Soleha and Chef Pyan.

The service was exceptionally friendly. I was served by Adam who was very warm and efficient. The portion was generous and filling while the drinks were equally authentic and worthy of praise. I ordered the Nasi Lemak Chicken Rendang and Sirap Bandung. To add, Chef Shazwan's food was authentic and is on par with what can be found in Malaysia and to an extent even better.

The food was outstanding quality and the service was great as the staff is really nice.

It was my first time trying out Malaysian food. However, the restaurant's layout needs to have adjustment no space for wheelchair users or anyone with special needs as well as disabilities. Too crowded chairs and table too compact I requested if they could get me a comfortable chair because the one I was sitting in was too small and unpleasant, and I felt discriminated. I told the head chef that I had several health issues and concealed impairments, and that sitting on the had made my condition worse. The main chef was rude and gave the impression that she didn't care therefore I was unable to enjoy eating my food could not relax. Food was expensive, and I had already paid for it or else I would have left. Regardless of a customer's size or disability, no one should be treated any less.

Had great experience with this cozy stylish little Malaysian restaurant. First time tasting food from Malaysia in London. Wan Daniel & Shazwan were great host to us. We tried Murtakab (chicken) as appatiser and noodles and soup as main.

So far I visited the restaurant three times. Everytime food was great. I would keep coming back insha'Allah.

Good food, good vibes however a tad bit expensive but it makes sense as it is in china town :)

The front staff Danish greets me well and the chef Johan makes me a scrumptious meal. Definitely feels like home.

The food was absolutely delicious and the waiter ensures a great dining experience. That was absolutely chef’s kiss.

Food selection seems authentic but flavours ranged from too salty to underseasoned. Cendol drink is interesting. Better places have crispier prata and burnt wok flavor in kuayteow. Staff were friendly enough but a 12.5% service charge for somewhere where you order at the counter is too steep imo.

A great place to go if you want to sample or have Malaysian dishes.. they are not Indian nor Chinese nor Vietnamese nor Thai, and quite distinctive from Indonesia, although it has Nasi Goreng too.. it's nowhere near the universe of dishes you can get if you're in Malaysia but it's a good representative of the main ones..

Simply the best Malaysian restaurant serving authentic Malaysian cuisine in London. This is the most favorite eating spot for me and my wife, and the food served to us are exceptional, and great portion. The staff and the owner are very warm and welcoming. Can't never have enough and we will always bought extra to bring back home too. Thank you to Adam, Johan & Kak Azlina!

Cafe Rasa Malaysia served authentic Malaysian cuisine. I've tried almost every dish in the menu. The food and the ambience feels like in Malaysia! Sedap sangat! All sedap! Assam Laksa, roti canai, Mee Curry, the tarik, gosh name it!! Highly recommended! The price is reasonable! And thank you to Adam Johan for providing such a good service! Keep it up!

Amazing authentic Malaysian food with all the classics such as Nasi Goreng, Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai etc. Particularly enjoyed the Satay, very well made, chef Ashman is fantastic. Lovely service as well, Badrul was great.

Honestly as a Malaysian , I'm so disappointed with this shop's service . They put me in a very narrow space , when more than half of the restaurant is empty . And they don't prepare changes when they start taking customers , I need to cancel all my order as I don't have smaller change but just 50 pound notes . Need to get improvements for not losing more customers .

I ordered a few times here before, mainly takeaway. The owner is very rude, she puts on a sweet voice but I have received a lot of attitude from her, even when I ask questions she responds rudely and this is unacceptable as you are the owner of the shop surely you should be answering with kindness. Each time I went back her attitude has gotten worse I’m not sure why but she really does need to keep calm and treat everyone with respect. I asked her if a certain dish was going to be sweet as I know Asian food tends to have some sort of sweetness which i wasn’t quite looking to get, she responded with “it’s not sweet it’s not a dessert” in a rude tone. I laughed it off and mentioned just incase if there is peanut sauce etc and she replied “it’s not Thai food, this is Malaysian” REAL FUNNY when they actually do sell peanut dips etc and most of their cooking has got coconut milk/ flavoured. Honestly unacceptable coming from the owner of the shop. I will not visit this place again. Respect is key!

Saya orang Indonesia, dan suka sekali kulineran masakan Indo dan Malaysia di London. Saya beberapa kali makan ke sini, makanannya enak, pemilik, chef, dan front staff nya ramah dan baik. Sayangnya waiter nya kurang ramah, sudah 2 kali saya dan teman saya sewaktu berkunjung diminta untuk pergi dengan kalimat yang kurang mengenakkan. Hanya itu keluhannya. Akan tetapi, makanan di sini enak, bersih, dan lingkungannya juga Malaysia banget😍😍. Hari ini saya datang lagi ke sana bersama teman saya, saya makan Nasi Ayam Rasa. Meskipun agak sedikit lama menunggu karena lunch time, chefnya dengan sopan dan humble mengantar langsung pesanan saya dan meminta maaf karena telah membuat saya menunggu. I do appreciate it. Jarang sekali chef mengantar pesanan ke meja customers. Sewaktu saya makan, rasanya.. beuuuh mantapp!! Nasinya lembut, ayamnya enak, soupnya pas sekali bumbunya. Terobati semua penat dan lelah saya. Sebelum saya pulang, saya langsung memberi pujian ke chefnya✨ Overall, ini recommended banget buat naikin mood dan menghilangkan rasa capek sehabis shopping di Westfield 😁🥰

The food was extremely flavourful and delicious. Served at the right kind of hot temperature and just so aromatic. Ginger, onion, peanut, meat favours were amazing! I won't be going to the food court in Westfield again.. Just this dine in Malaysian place! And chrysanthemum tea was the best ending after a lovely meal!

Johan was a very friendly and helpful staff member who took my order. Chef Johan cooked a very delicious and authentic Chicken Kari Mee Laksa.

It is the first time I came across a self-service place where you needed to order by the counter and get charged 12.5% at the till, without being told or no sign which says it - that is quite a cheek! As for the food, the vegan curry was flavorful and a generous portion, but way too spicy for a medium spice level - we struggled to eat it. I have asked for mild heat, but I have been told it is either No spicy/Medium or Hot - which is also quite odd . The so-called "salad" was a tiny piece of a cucumber and a lettuce leaf. The vegan Roti was spongy and. completely flavourless together with the dal.

CKT tasted more like kway teow goreng (stronger tomato taste). Beef Rendang Nasi Lemak is not bad

Amazing Malaysian Food in a small part of Westfield Stratford. Genuinely enjoyed authentic Malaysian food here at the spiciness level you can only get back home. Had the Nasi Goreng and Kari Laksa and genuinely we enjoyed both. The pricing is very fair for London standards and will definitely be a place to visit again.
