The food was really tasty and so filling! There were so many great sounding sides to pick from, I'm looking forward to visiting again to try some of the others Thanks Bron and Marta!

Amazing service and food! Full of flavour and worth every penny! Loved the idea of the Yorkshire puddings. Definitely will return! And well recommended to all pie lovers!

Ordered two gluten-free pie mash and peas meals with Deliveroo. Great comfort food with nice box stickers to reassure me that the contents are indeed gluten-free as ordered (I've gluten intolerance & not coeliac disease). Generally, it was a tasty, filling and very comforting meal with only a couple of niggles: the gravy needed to be a little thicker and richer-tasting - tasted a bit watered down which detracted from its quality. Also, the mash was over-blitzed, too thin and wet, lacking a nice home-made texture. However, I did enjoy it and will reorder again, and it's worth mentioning that their delicious pies are also orderable COLD - great for on the move or a picnic. Finally, Martin, the general manager, was very helpful on the phone and it's nice to know that this restaurant boasts a top council hygiene rating. If they addressed the couple of little quibbles above then it's an easy five star.

Visited here for lunch with family. Service was good. The food however was very average - all of our pies needed to be hotter as they were warm. I did enjoy the minted peas that went with the free range pie but only 2 pieces of chicken inside, no ham and couldn't really taste the leeks. If not for the peas I found mine to be very bland. Unfortunately the rest of the family felt the same about theirs too. Halloumi fries and pork scratchings went down well. Would any of us go back, sadly probably not as didn't wow enough for the price paid.

Overall okay experience. We had the sunday meal. The pie was very good but the yorkshire pudding and the potatoes were clearly reheated.

I recently visited this Pieminster in Cardiff on recommendation from a friend. The gentleman serving me was very polite and service was overall good. I ordered a Steak & Ale Pie with a side of mash and peas which was served quickly. However, the pie was rather bland and lacked seasoning. The mash was tasty and very buttery.

Cold mash ambient wasn't that appealing

The fries looked great but were a little soggy still-weirdly no rosemary on it although the menu mention its was rosemary fries. The gravy was sweet and kind of tastes like really thick tomato soup rather than a nice rich gravy. The pie crust was soft and not crumbly or buttery. The fillings tasted okay, not particularly bad but nothing good either. For a place that mainly serves pies, serves mid pies at best

First time trying Pieminister and I loved it! Thought it was great value for money, and the staff were really friendly and personable which was lovely. Will definitely return.

Just decided to pop in somewhere in town to eat for lunch and went here; I'm glad I did, very good pie, and didn't have to wait a long time for food, plus the service was good, polite, would definitely go again!

Nunca más. La comida estaba bien, pero el servicio era terrible. No hay contacto visual del personal. Uno de los miembros del personal tenía que ir a cambiarse de ropa porque su camiseta estaba muy sucia y parecía desatendido (acaba de levantarse de la cama). Mis amigos terminaron su comida antes que yo y la jovencita vinieron y me preguntaron si había terminado dos veces a pesar de que todavía estaba sosteniendo mi cuchillo y tenedor. El proyecto de ley nos fue presentado incluso sin que pidiéramos. Sentimos que solo querían que nos fuéramos muy apresurado experiencia desagradable no volvería a ir. Había mesas libres, pero cuando la gente entraba, les decían que no había espacio, que eran mentiras, sentíamos que no les importaba.

After struggling to find a good looking gluten free menu in Cardiff, I googled and after reading the great reviews turned up in pieminister. It certainly didn’t disappoint .. will be back 😊

We visited on a weekday, it was quiet and we was served quickly. It looks like the food is premade and just needed warming up so did not take long for our orders to arrive (saying that I probably wouldn't want to wait 20+ mins for them to bake a fresh pie) The pies were tasty and as you can see, it's thin crust with lots of filling.

En primer lugar, llegamos y nos dijeron que teníamos que irnos en una hora debido a las reservas. La comida era agradable pero pequeña, sin embargo, desafortunadamente el personal nos cobró por nuestra comida 3 veces por accidente y luego no pudo ordenar la máquina para reembolsarnos el dinero, y luego nos cobró otras dos veces pensando que no había pasado cuando pasó la primera vez. Decía Aprobado. No solo esto, cobraron una tarifa de servicio obligatorio cuando nuestro camarero tuvo una mala actitud durante toda la comida, ella no sonrió una vez hasta que todos los problemas con el pago surgieron. Y lo que es más, nos apresuramos a irnos en una hora, para cuando todo estaba arreglado ya había terminado y nadie más había venido, así que no había necesidad de apresurarnos a salir. Mencionamos sobre la tarifa de servicio ya que teníamos un servicio deficiente y no se hicieron ofertas para reembolsar la tarifa de servicio. No es una gran experiencia en absoluto

¡Otro restaurante que añade un cargo por servicio a la factura! La propina es para un servicio excelente no cualquier servicio. No es trabajo del cliente compensar los bajos salarios del personal. ¡No somos EE.UU.! Pero saben que la gente se sentirá incómoda al pedir que se elimine de la factura. No regresaremos por la política de cargos por servicio.

I have bought these pies from the supermarket so was interested to see what the restaurant was like. Really tasty; I had a festive pie with mushy peas and 2 Yorkshire puds and my daughter had a steak pie. The young man serving us was really friendly and attentive. Excellent

Apareció a las 3 de la tarde en un domingo mojado para que les dijeran que solo aceptaban reservas y que no había mesas libres. Mirando alrededor del restaurante era muy tranquilo, con solo 2 o 3 mesas en uso y un montón de mesas vacías. No nos ofrecieron una reserva posterior y nos fuimos. Comprobé la reserva en línea en su sitio web 5 minutos después y habría sido posible reservar una mesa para las 4 pm. Muy decepcionante que no nos ofrecieron esta opción y no volveremos. Muy mal servicio al cliente.

Visited today a s served by Chloe i believe. Ordered 2 pies and there was an error where the wrong food was sent out. However the way this was handled showed excellent customer service. Mistakes can happen but the attitude and desire to deal with them and provide great service was excellent. Will definitely visit again

We have just enjoyed our first meal here. As lovely as it was, the cheese and crispy onions were left off one and the other was the complete wrong pie.....however, the lovely waitress only charged us for our drinks as a way to make it right. (Didn't catch her name) we really appreciated this and we will definitely be back!

For a party of around 17 people, sitting downstairs, the waitress did a fabulous job. Pre-ordering meant she could just call out names as the food was brought. Given 5 stars for food however some of my chips were hard, and parts of the pie crust/pastry was a little too crusty for me. I would still highly recommend as the pie was delicious. Good value, and would happily return!

The pies, mash and gravy are always amazing. Iy's hard to find good pie, but not here. Service is quite quick.

Was really quick service and a nice place to go for a quick bite. Was serviced by the amazing Chloe F who was happy to help with anything and had really amazing customer service and came back to check regularly everything was okay even though it was busy in the restaurant. Chloe made the trip to piemonister

Stopped off at Pieminister some time ago - had a delightful experiance! The pie was very delicious and the mushy peas were the highlight of the show for me! TOP TIP: Get the mothership option. Can’t go wrong with this place. Great service as well (thank you Abbie!)

Great selection of pies, especially for vegetarians and vegans. Stopped by for lunch when I travelled to cardiff for work and was great being so close to the station. Service was excellent and the waitress Abbie was great - food was brought out quickly and was hot.

Muy decepcionado con nuestra primera visita a este lugar. Llegamos a tiempo y fuimos recibidos por un restaurante medio vacío, sin embargo, los cinco de nosotros fuimos conducidos a 2 mesas separadas por una esquina y me ofrecieron reorganizar las mesas de cualquier manera que quisiera? Nos sentamos y después de 20 minutos tuve que ir y preguntar si al menos podíamos pedir bebidas, obviamente para ese momento estábamos listos para pedir comida de todos modos. La comida llegó y una larga espera y estaba bien, sin embargo la mayoría de nuestros pasteles eran tibios. Las bebidas también eran horribles. El Prosecco tenía cero burbujas y la Coca - Cola que se servía primero era completamente plana, así que cambiaron eso por una lata de Coca-Cola cero que terminó siendo una Coca-Cola regular pero no iba a intentar cambiar eso. No se dieron disculpas por el mal servicio hasta el final cuando vinieron a traer la factura. Después de pagar me di cuenta de que habían puesto un cargo de servicio de £ 8 en el que ciertamente no habría pagado. ¡Nunca más!

Had pretty good pies served with tasty gravy. Not quite as flavourful as we'd hoped, and the cheezy mash was a bit lacking. Good, not great.

Great little place with friendly staff

Pleasantly surprised. Visited lunchtime on a Saturday. Wife and I both had the steak n ale, chips and minted mushy peas. Pie filled and cooked to perfection. More than enough chips and peas were great. Will visit again.

Really pleased with our visit to “The Pieminister” in Cardiff! The two girls working that bank holiday weekend were friendly and efficient. Drinks arrived super fast and the food was served just as quickly! The food was hot and presented perfectly! Well done girls!! You smashed it!!!

At the end of our last full day in Cardiff, we decided to have dinner at Pieminister. Big mistake, we should have checked it our on our first night and then maybe had a couple of lunches as WELL as our final dinner. I had the Moo & Blu pie, the granddaughter had "just" the Moo, and Grandma had "the Heidi", sweet-potatoe, spinach & goat cheese (I'm sure many other ingredients) and we ALL loved our dishes (& each others'). Service was prompt, friendly and NOT disruptive -- I hate when you're bothered every 5 minutes. We were well attended and had a wonderful time. They offer a drink special, I'm not a heavy drinker, but I should've taken advantage of it as I ended up ordering a second drink. I figure it was worth a GBP 1.00 to have the drink served up cold with unmelted ice rather than ordering 2 and having the 2nd one melt while I drank the first one. Waitstaff was friendly, efficient and effective. The atmosphere was fun, surprisingly quiet for the number of people. We had a great meal as well as a great time. I'm not a desert kinda guy, unless it's Banana's Foster but we went for the Pecan Pie Sunday and it was VERY good -- I'd do it again unless the Toffee was available...

Service was super nice and food was so fast. The taste was just like I imagined and very delicious. I can recommend!

Booked a table for 7.45pm to be told on arrival they close at 8.30-8.45pm. This made us feel rushed and unwelcome from the start. It was too late for us to find anywhere else. I ordered a mother earth meal as was keen to try the fritters. When food was served I was told they didn't have fritters so had replaced them with peppers. A generally disappointing experience for what was a one off family trip. The food was good and pies were very tasty but we didn't have time for dessert.

Just eaten in there. Chips rock hard, pie where was the beef and mushy peas, so sweet was unbelievable! Would not recommend. Been here before but gone right down hill. They used excuse were busy in day. That is no excuse, only about 4 people there when we were there!

Chloe C is a legend of a server, anytime we're in Cardiff we stop at pieminister to see her and have a fantastic pie and cocktails!

Bottomless brunch is lovely, lovely selection of cocktails something for everyone Chloe C is an exceptional server and reason we always try and visit when in Cardiff.

Food was ok. Standard pies & sides. Wanted to enjoy the meal outside in libel 27 degrees. But the outdoor seating is for decoration purposes only. It’s a pity.

Really disappointing unfortunately. We had two different vegan pies with mash, gravy, peas, and fritter. The pies themselves were great, you can buy them in the supermarkets and they’re always delicious. Gravy and fritter were nice. Portions and presentation were also good. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was fine (music a little loud), but that’s where the good parts end. The mash and peas were horrible. The mash was completely tasteless, weird texture, lumpy, and cold. The peas were not nice ones if you know what I mean, they were hard inside, tasteless, and barely warm. The tea cups my friends were given were visibly dirty with stains and tea that we could scratch off with a fingernail. Cutlery also didn’t look very clean and my glass was all scratched up so not sure what all of that was about. I’m really sorry to say that we were really looking forward to our visit but we’re super let down and won’t be returning unless things improved massively.

Very solid chain with 4 vegan pie options on the menu and 3 taps--one of which is cider. Pies can be shared if you're not too hungry or get your own if you are.

It was nice to visit a restaurant where when you order a pie you get a pie, rather than getting some stew with pastry on top. It would have been better if it was a bit warmer though.

Gravy was so flavourless I thought I had covid. Pies were profoundly mid. No taste and not warm enough. Didn't taste like it was made in-house. The food just tasted defeated. Parsnip and kale fritters were okay.

Bottomless Brunch. Lovely food but small portion. Drinks were lovely but had to keep asking and waiting for top ups.

Great food, good service, and quick turnaround. Menu has limited choice available, but does cater to vegans/vegetarians as well as meat lovers. Portions aren't big, but the food is tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad meal here, and I've visited a number of times. Not amazingly accessible for wheelchair users, though there is level access. The booths are quite narrow, so a little tight for those of us that are a little bigger than average.

Thought the food sounded nice so me and the wife went in for pie and mash. Her pie was flavourless, mash is like baby food and add the gravy in the mix, it's just slop. Chef also ate bits as he was cooking, never washed his hands and plated pies with his bare hand. Pretty gross. Have added more stars than I was going to as the lady at the front of house did her best to keep it all together. Won't be returning.

We had a great lunch here, Bron and Martyn were welcoming and helpful. Atmosphere was great, not busy but music at a good level. Pies were fantastic and just what we wanted.

The pies are ok- relatively sure cooked from frozen Veg and mash may have been microwaved? None of the food tastes home made or fresh 'roasties' are just overcooked diced potatoes and taste quite salty The fizzy elderflower was tasteless It was all edible- but not quite the experience I was hoping for

I'm one happy women just had pie & chips being GF (celiacs) terrible job normally finding anywhere for celiacs. Bronwen , service excellent 👌 and that Beth done amazing recommend it.

An amazing place with really good pies. As someone with celiac as well I was very happy to find out they have a gluten free menu available (+ gluten free beer). The service we got from Bron was fantastic, and she was very helpful. Great value for your money and absolutely a place to recommend!

WOW. 🤩 We are here from the U.S. and I will surely dream about the pot pie I had here for years to come. The (vegetarian) wild shroom pot pie was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! So savory & delicious. It’s such a wonderful treat to have so many vegetarian options on the menu as well. 10 out of 10, would recommend this amazing spot!

A friendly place with very good food. I am celiac and I was able to order a gluten free pie.. it was super yummy and it tasted like it had gluten (of course it was gluten free because I didn't get sick). The pie was given with a meat sauce.. so so yummy. I don't know if it was correct, but I put the sauce all over the pie and the result was spectacular. They had gluten free beer, so I was able to drink it. Absolutely recommended and I'd love to come here again, if I ever get the chance.

Absolutely amazing place to visit, the food is so tasty and delicious. The service is outstanding staff are so welcoming, polite and friendly. The cocktails go down a lovely treat with the meal. Overall I would recommend this place 100% I will definately be returning for future planned evening out with friends and family

Met up for lunch and had the Moolin Rouge Pie with mash and peas - really good would definitely recommend. Service was great and our server was very friendly. I will definitely come back again!
