Never been into the pub before. Met friends of ours there as it’s half way between our homes That was the best decision of all Lovely old building with low ceilings and loads of caricature The food was some of the best we’ve all had. I had a burger. Cooked perfectly with just the right amount of sauce and cheese etc My wife had the chicken and said it’s tastes amazing Our friends had the fish pie and the pasta. They both said it was really delicious We all had the bread and butter pudding and custard for dessert. Stunning. What made the place even better was the lady who was running it. Very bubbly, friendly and great to chat too. It was so refreshing to see someone who loved their job. The chef came out and said hello too. Was a nice touch. We will definitely be returning and would recommend it very highly

We were in town for a few days and met with friends at the Pied Bull. We were fortunate to have awesome weather allowing us to enjoy the courtyard.

We have been twice for a meal with friends as there was a singer/guitarist we like playing and we knew the new owners other pub served good food . The first time I had seafood pasta which was absolutely jam packed with seafood and a good sized portion, my husband had steak. Second time I had wild mushroom risotto which was very well cooked and my husband a huge fish and chips. Dessert he had bread and butter pudding and custard and I had Eton Mess. It looked very different to others I’d had but was absolutely delicious and creamy but not too sweet. Service was friendly good and although a bit pricier than we would sometimes pay we felt the quality of the food arrested it.

It is over 50 years since we went to The Pied Bull but we were nearby and decided to make the short detour. It was a great decision. Lovely friendly staff. Able to get proper “full fat” Coke and the food was really excellent. My Fish Pie was the best I have ever tasted-except my own! My husband’s salad was large and freshly prepared with an interesting mix of ingredients. He was unable to finish it but they readily offered a “doggy bag” which he accepted with alacrity.

We just popped in for a pint at midday last Sunday and cheekily asked if we could use the carpark as we were visiting a car show over the road whose carpark was full As a courtessy we booked to have lunch later that afternoon where were met by lovely staff who were able to give great service as well as a super tasty meal The food seemed to be home cooked and was super fresh , delicious and reasonably priced too I'm guessing this is a family run place as all the staff were so wecoming and checked back to ensure the food was to our liking after every dish was served My wife had a huge Greek Salad with Grilled Hallumi while I went for two starters , a delicious Chicken + Chorizzo Croquet and a Prawn + Smoked Salmon Roulade which was teaming with delicious prawns . Add to that we shared a plate of Hand Cooked Chips meaning there was not much room left for desert That said , when asked for reccomendation , the manager suggested the Lemon Possett (seemingly a glorious mix of clotted cream , sugar and fresh lemons) , a top notch desert which thankfully we shared , as was a big hit to the arteries for sure We'll definately be returning to this fine eatery which , the signs outside seemed to indicate , has only been under the present management since the spring . The new people deserve every success as they have made the dining experience delightful

Returned after a visit last year (out of area so visit rarely). I'm not 'getting' the 5* reviews. Sorry. Last year you couldn't walk through the pub, it was so busy. This time, it was us and 1 other table. Decidedly average, in my experience in the food industry, it's absolutely not gastro! I had carbonara and although nice with loads of lardons, it seemed like a cheese sauce was used and not the traditional egg/parmesan/pecorino, making it 'gloopy'. Gastro? Great staff and service. First impressions - menu. A really easy fix - print new pieces of paper! Being presented with crumpled up and obviously been wet at some point, all of them! Pulled chairs out - sticky. Another simple fix. Not trying to find holes, just wanted to give honest feedback. Would I go back - no.

Fish and chips and the steak and onion ceibater was fantastic, plus the Abbot Ale was good. Etam mess was a little bit small for the price . But very enjoyable, will be back

What a find!! We arrived around 5pm for an early dinner on a Saturday. It wasn't busy but there was a great feel about this pub. Very quaint and we felt like we were in a quitessential English pub. Waitress served us a gorgeously chilled bottle of white wine in a decent glass!! A decent wine glass at a pub, thank you. We ordered the sirloin steak, beautifully cooked, medium rare with the best fries, peppercorn sauce, mushroom and grilled tomato. A chicken and bacon salad came exactly as we asked, dressing on the side.. and tge bacon in this salad was really, well, different really divine. Finished with a Eton mess, I'm really fussy so asked for all ingredients to come separate, chef was amazing, super accommodating... I'll be back for sure, I live in Winchmore hill, and found this pub a gasto delight! Well done guys.. super effort all around..

Last time at the Pied Bull, a couple of years ago, we were extremely unimpressed. As we were visiting Forty Hall nearby we checked out the website and saw it was under new management. What a change! The food, staff and service we all superb. It is a beautiful pub so we are delighted it is now back up where it should be.

What a wonderful restaurant/pub we had a very enjoyable meal the lamb roast was delicious and the service was brilliant especially as there was 14 of us. I loved my dessert - lemon posset

My friend and I purposely chose to have lunch at The Pied Bull, as we used to live locally. What a complete disaster. We ordered a prawn & avocado ciabatta with salad & slaw, costing £9.95. It was disgusting. The ciabatta was a panini and very dry. There was no avocado visible, apparently mashed into the prawn mix, and no more avocado in the kitchen. The sauce was ghastly, with few prawns. The place was dirty, sticky, greasy and in need of a deep clean.

Under new management, Lovely pub for Sunday lunch. Very friendly and great service. Reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

We stopped by for Sunday lunch but hoped we hadn’t. The roast pork did not seem freshly done but like something heated in a bag. There was so much stuffing but hardly much pork. At £16 it was not worth the money. The lamb halloumi burger was not much better. They also had terrible music on and the atmosphere was so dull, quiet and morbid it made you feel depressed. Didn’t particularly find the staff very welcoming or friendly either. I would suggest avoid this place

I didn't want to even give this place 1 out of 5 it's worse!!!! The food is awful, microwaved paket ribs that looked positively anaemic and we're completely tasteless dumped in top of some chips and a southern fried burger that was cheap and nasty. Having covered the crap food we move onto the rude, ignorant manager / barmaid. She was truly miserable and made our visit in this tired little establishment even worse. To top it off it was so expensive. 8.95 for glass of wine!! 16.00 for ribs I wouldn't feed to my dogs!! Avoid this place.

We had our wedding reception at The Pied Bull and couldn't fault the staff. Not only did they help with creating bespoke menus for our wedding, the staff also decorated the pub for us. The food served was fantastic, as was the general service throughout the day. Many of guests were very impressed with the quality of food and service. Thank you again for making our wedding run smoothly.

I normally only save reviews to sing praises but I am so shocked and disgusted by this visit, I felt compelled to warn others. I encountered the most rude barmaid/potentially manager. I was actually taken back at how rude and put out she was when asked a simple question. If I had ever treated anyone like that when I worked in a bar I would have been sacked. My food was vile I couldn't eat it. The only redeeming quality was the lovely young barmaid who was totally opposite of the woman who greeted us with an attitude. Maybe that older lady should take tips from her. Avoid.

Saturday night and the clearly not suited to a customer service role barmaid provided the full Fawlty Towers experience. Rude, impatient and made the customer feel like an inconvenience. Not what you would call a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The service was less than poor and our waitress although polite was lacking any customer skills. Had to repeat the order again as she forgot what we had requested. The leak and potato sour was under seasoned and had the consistency of setting cement. Out of fairness the calamari was not bad. As for the roast chicken the meat fine however plate dreadfully presented and the vegetables were swimming in litres of stodgy gravy. The steak I ordered as medium rare was unseasoned, cooked to death and so inedible that I left 99 percentage on the plate. The worst steak I have ever ordered in this so called gastro pub. The waitress was unapologetic for the disgusting meat presented. The sticky toffee pudding was ok for my wife yet the mixed cheese for me was ice cold and therefore lacked flavour. The restaurant needs a manager who cares and staff training an urgent priority. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day there!

A belated review of Mother’s Day. Truly though it’s really an overall review as we’ve had numerous family occasions here. So you could say a long overdue review! We often use this pub/restaurant as an easy meeting point for the family. Very pleasant and a comfortable choice. Staff attentive and menu good. Well done team. Thanks for the hospitality!

Pretty average pub though it looks very attractive from outside. The service was handles by one person so there was a delay in being served at the bar.

As a large group they copied really well including with a couple late additions. Good served quickly and really good quality. Portions were generous and a good atmosphere.

I visited the pub this evening with my cousin. We went in and sat down. There was a bunch of old men drinking and chatting loudly. A crowd of a party was about to leave. I visited this pub many times before and it was fine. This evening, before we ordered our drinks I asked the obnoxious blonde woman with big glasses, pony tail and white and red t-shirt, if we could have the password of the WiFi. She moved to the other side of the bar ignoring me. I thought she went to 'get something' and she would be back, but she didn't. She was waiting for me other side. My cousin said to me she is this side so I moved. Then the woman with attitude said " First, tell me what you are going to drink and I give you the password" As we just arrived, we didn't have the chance to think what we would like to have but obviously you do not go to a pub at 7pm to get WiFi and leave. I said we hadn't decided yet. Then she seemed annoyed and said with even more attitude " Well, when you decide, let me know" and left. We waited a bit but I felt appalled by the treatment so I asked my cousin to leave and go somewhere else. We went to the door that leads to the car park but it was locked. She called behind " This side ladies" with annoyance. Asked if the door was locked or jammed. She said it was locked. we were literally thrown out. I guess we did not have the right 'race' for her to worth being served. I was appalled by the lack or respect and service. will certainly not go back there or recommend.

Went in today for a drink and sat at the bar for approximately 25 minutes being totally ignored. I appreciate that the lady behind the bar was very busy but she didn’t even offer eye contact to acknowledge that we were there. When I brought this up to her she was very rude didn’t care and brushed me off! Absolutely disgusting attitude!!!

Despite the reviews on here I thought I’d book for dinner. Reserved a table over the phone 8 days before coming. They phoned to cancel the night before saying they couldn’t fit us in (3 people!!) Completely dumbfounded at such terrible customer care

This place is a joke… started serving food at 5pm on Christmas Eve and never had 3/4 of things on the dinner menu or dessert menu and never even had any Irish coffee either on Xmas Eve in a pub!!!!!! Why are you even bothering to open?!? Literally couldn’t arrange a piss up in their own brewery! Gave them another chance after Covid as their new staff at the time were slow and incompetent but it appears the management are too, 2 years on! Avoid and go to a proper pub… can’t imagine this place lasting much longer with these amateurs running it!

My family and I have been to the restaurant on five occasions with only one good experience and that was a wake. They get your booking wrongs even though we always call to confirm everything is in order . The manager Jasper has no customer care skills, to the point of coming across rude , on one occasion when we asked to see the menu he said we can’t see it until midday, it was 5 minutes to 12! Tonight we thought we would give it one last chance and booked the restaurant area for the special rib night for 5 people. When we arrived they put us in the conservatory with low ceilings not the restaurant area . This is where my uncle cannot stand up properly as he is 6foot 3. We started to order our ribs when he said they were all gone it was 6.30 . Jasper told us they were pre ordered by a table of eight and that’s all they had for the whole evening. My salad was bad my friends pint of beer was shocking and only one person at the table had a good meal. We will not go back again and felt it fair to have given them so many chances to get it right . Faulty towers springs to mind .

Used the venue for a family gathering after a funeral, the service and set up was perfect , ticked all the boxes ,would recommend this for this type of set up Thanks

Visited for a Saturday lunch. Quaint old pub, as previously pointed out, watch your head, low beams. Pleasant greeting, ordered drinks and given the menu, found a seat and placed order when drinks arrived. I opted for the Lamb & Haloumi burger, and my daughter opted for the grilled bagel with salmon. Food was a slight let down, the lamb burger, haloumi and onion rings were slightly overcooked, making them just about acceptable and the fries were good. The toasted bagel was cold, and did not look as though it had been toasted. Salmon was nice. Given the good level of service, and reasonable prices, would go again to try some other things on the menu.

While the food was lively it didn’t match the price. Neither did the prices of drinks or speed of server. A few more staff when bookings have been made might make a difference

Cosy, warm welcome, delicious food and good prices. Set in great surroundings and we'll worth a detour to get there for quality time and a great meal.

We held a family event in the Pied Bull in November and the care and attention from the staff was faultless and the food and venue were excellent. Many thanks, I would highly recomend a visit.

Very cosy pub atmosphere serving excellent and plentiful dishes. Real good varied menu to suit everybody. Service is spot on with a young crew showing experience beyond their years. All that was missing was a glorious open fire. A great place to go for a Xmas lunch or dinner. Roasts were very good and the Lasagne ,very authentic. Very good.

Went to visit twice in the last month, with my family and with my friends. The roasts selections all got the thumbs up. The beef and pork belly with stuffing in particular is very good. Sticky toffee pudding and salted caramel ice cream was also on the money. Our waitress was very polite and friendly and the ambience is nice. A couple of good ales on tap too.

Cosy pub, friendly staff, lovely beef, not great vegetables and the rolled stuffed pork belly is not good. Had a homemade brownie which was bone dry and not chocolatey. Wouldn't have Sunday lunch there again.

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday, the welcome was warm and friendly and we were asked if we a lunch menu. The choice was pretty good and I ordered the steak and onion ciabatta, while my wife had the chicken caesar salad. Both looked good and tasted excellent. The place itself looked clean and tidy and very inviting. We only had a quick bite but will certainly be going back, especially as since friends have told me of their experiences.

El pan de chapata utilizado para el sándwich de carne era duro. Los aros de cebolla no tenían sabor, el filete de solomillo estaba lleno de grasa. Cada bocado que mi esposa puso en su boca tuvo que escupir ya que todo era espeluznante. Me quejé y dije que realmente no quería pagar el bistec, pero me dijeron que era política de la compañía no reembolsar los alimentos, pero nos dieron una bebida gratis. El bistec vino con lo que se suponía que era una salsa de pimienta, pero solo parecía mantequilla derretida y sabía como ninguna otra salsa de pimienta que he probado en mi vida. No licor de maracuyá para hacer un martini de maracuyá que estaba en la lista de bebidas. En general, muy decepcionante. No volveremos

Fui junto con amigos, uno había pedido especialmente que fuéramos como lo habían disfrutado antes. Sin embargo, 2 miembros del grupo ordenaron atún que pidieron que se cocinara de diferentes maneras, ¡fue más o menos lo mismo! Un miembro de nuestro grupo tuvo que esperar su cena ya que la orden no había llegado a la cocina. He estado en otro lugar gastado menos dinero y tuve una mejor comida y servicio. Es una pena, tal vez solo una tarde libre.

Visited over the weekend with friends as we were camping nearby. Booked in advance for a group of 7 (hardly an unmanageable number) but when we arrived and wanted to order and pay for our meals separately we received a pretty frosty reception. It felt like we were an imposition almost, even though we thought it was a pretty simple request.

From our very first contact with Amanda, all the staff at the Pied Bull could not have been more helpful - and the buffet they provided was excellent (especially the potatoes!). The pub is a lovely old building, with a nice outdoors area - and conveniently located for the Enfield Crematorium. Everyone was very pleased with the service.

Been coming here for years and have always praised this pub. But on 11/05/19 we received terrible service for my Uncle’s 80th Birthday.

Having driven down from Yorkshire that day we decided to call into the Pied Bull for dinner as it is within walking distance of where we were staying. The pub was welcoming and we had a pleasant greeting from the young man behind the bar. It was an hour before they began serving food so we ordered drinks and browsed the menu while we waited. It was a surprise to find the pub served Timothy Taylor Landlord and Black Sheep beer - I settled for a lovely pint of Black Sheep as the 'Landlord' was off. The young man kindly took our order early and passed it through so it was in the kitchen when it opened at 6:00pm. We didn't have to wait too long before our meals came and my partner's burger and chips was excellent. I had beef bolognaise and tagliatelle from the specials board, which was quite nice but a little on the dry side and lacked the expected rich tomato taste & seasoning. The portion was not large but enough for me. Service was good but not overly attentive. The pub was not full but it had a nice atmosphere and felt cosy. We will visit here again when staying in the area.

After busy days my wife and I ate here on two consecutive nights each night we arrived before 18:00, when the kitchen opens. The atmosphere, and welcome could not be faulted. The food was excellent, not huge portions but enough for us.

Last wednesday the 20th February, we took our Aunt Rene to Enfield Pied Bull as she was 96 we had a great lunch, very friendly and helpful service, and the lady who looked after us and went out of her way to supply a beautiful birthday cake. We really cannot express how much of a great day it made.

Used to be a lovely pub and fantastic food. Really gone downhill and the manager is very rude. The food isnt anything I would return for and neither the atmosphere anymore. Such a shame! Would give 0 if I could.

We stayed here for one night and were surprised how lovey the room was. The building is very old so the corridors are a bit like a rabbit warren. The room was very spacious with a roll top bath in the main room as well as a shower en-suite.

Very friendly greeting, served straight away. We ordered the roast dinner, my daughter had the chicken which was lovely. I had the nut roast, these two brown patties of mush appeared, tasted awful, I think I found a nut in there somewhere. The sting was the 2 large (250ml) glasses of rose wine at £15.90! We will go again but won’t order the nut roast!

Mi esposa y yo a menudo venimos aquí a tomar unas copas después de una visita a Cineworld en Enfield y ocasionalmente también a cenar.

Llegamos al pub diez minutos antes del mediodía, ya que el sitio web dice que se abre a las 11 am. Todavía estábamos esperando afuera junto con otros a las 12. 08 pm para que el dueño llegue con una llave. No hubo ninguna disculpa ofrecida.

Visité este lugar el 25 de enero después de un servicio de cremación para mi papá. 10 miembros de la familia y yo fuimos al bar y de inmediato nos dijeron que solo podíamos sentarnos en una mesa.

This is an excellent place for good straightforward pub food. Friendly service. Would recommend for a casual dinner.

Yo y un compañero almorzamos hoy en The Pied Bull y tuvimos una muy mala experiencia allí. Los dos pedimos verduras a la brasa con hummus en pan ciabatta tostado. El contenido del pan era totalmente inaceptable. En lugar de las verduras a la brasa que habíamos pedido, nuestro rollo contenía solo cebollas fritas en aceite pesado, posiblemente muy usado: las cebollas eran oscuras, suaves, viscosas y de olor fuerte.

I bought a coffee at around 1.30 and sat to work on my laptop whilst I charged my tablet by the table. At around 3pm the manageress came to collect my glass and asked me if she could get me something else with such a face and a tone that I wondered if she was implying I was doing something wrong (and my face went red) but I thought I must have been being sensitive, and she always has a face like a slapped cat anyway. She returned between 5-10 minutes later and asked me the same again in the same way. I asked if she was telling me I should leave and she then said I was sitting there without buying anything, and using the electricity without asking and repeated 'manners make the man' with a smug look as if she had said something very intelligent. I'm a regular at this pub, I often sit and work for a couple of hours on a coffee and then order food, and other times I buy lunch/dinner and don't hang around because it's busy and I wouldn't take up table space. Today there was no one sat in the section I was in. I told her this, to which she replied 'well I've never seen you' so I told her that she served my food the other day when she had a meeting about a funeral buffet. At no point did she accept or acknowledge any of that, she just repeated her insults about my supposed lack of manners at using the electricity. Needless to say I won't be returning and will warn folk about the terrible atmosphere this lady creates in her public house.

Loads of parking, clean and tidy front, nice welcome at the bar, warm and cosy ambiance in this quaint pub venue, so far so good, all looking fine. There is a small doable menu which I also took as a good sign of honest pub grub!

Have eaten here several times and had good food and service but I wouldn’t recommend it if you want to have a chilled out evening and stay till closing to chat.

Good food and nice location but as it was a sunny day we chose to sat outside. None of the umbrellas were open so we put one up. When the food came out from the two guys the new fella was lovely but the one named Jasper was quite abrupt and told us off for opening an umbrella because they previously had one of these ‘£2k’ brollies broken by punters. Right Jasper, think I’m able to open up an umbrella without needing assistance but I’ll be sure to ask in future *eye roll* but word of advice, if it’s sunny why not open them yourself OR put a sign up to tell people not to open them without asking staff rather than giving your punters a telling off. Other than that odd experience was nice!

We had rung and booked a table we arrived at our table time to be told sorry we would have to wait ! We asked how long and were told erm not sure sit down on the sofa and we will call you . As we went to sit we noticed a spillage that had been mopped with toilet paper rather unsightly it was picked up when we notified them .we sat at our table half an hour late table was sticky we cleaned it ourselves with hand wipes . Waited half hour for some starters to arrive we had already asked what the delay was and was told very busy however we had noticed 3 other tables sat after us and were all served before us again we questioned this . 3 main meals came 5 mins before others then 2 more arrived 10 mins later 1 was still waiting again told very busy spoke to assistant manager who didn’t seem overly concerned just kept saying busy ! it then transpired my order had not been put through but it would been served as soon as possible I declined the offer my patience had worn thin . On saying we would not be paying the full amount and after countless times of hearing we are busy the bill was reduced . Very disappointing and as a family member pointed out to the assistant manger we came out as a family to eat as a family and 1 ended up not eating . The assistant manager did not seem concerned by this or when he was told we would be writing a review , highly unacceptable and extremely unprofessional we will not be returning to this pub ever . We did not pay the full amount but still ended up paying over£50 .

Made the booking over the phone, the young lady didn’t no if my time was free so she called acrosd to someone and asked. Eventually she said yes then didn’t have a pen to take my name and number. Arrived in time table not ready so was seated in the sofas, drinks split in the floor and torn up paper everywhere. Asked for this to be cleared as it looked sticky, young man came across with tissue and no spray. Table ready 25 minutes later, arrived at a sticky dirty table with no cutlery etc on. Starters and mains ordered, waited 30 minutes for them to arrive but only after we asked for them and had to help ourselves to cutlery. Waited another 30 minutes for mains, then 3 arrived with the wrong items on, 2 more came leaving one person with no food. Got the coleslaw swopped for beans which we had ordered, asked about the last meal and was told they had forgotten about it, called for the duty manger who tried to argue with us, even tilled his eyes and said it would be coming, what was the point we just wanted a family meal together. Said we would not be paying for all the bill, where we was told ‘you can’t do that’. I again explained we had wrong meals bought and one meal not at all. The manager went off to see what he could do for us, he returned to say he would not charge us for 3 starters and fot the meal we didn’t receive. Eventually we agreed on a deal, didn’t order desserts or coffee. No one came back to us to clear the plates so we paid and left. Will not be going back not even for a drink

Booked a table for the Friday night lobster/steak special. Whilst I was waiting on my own, I say the Asst Manager reprimanding the younger bar staff in front of customers - never a good sign! I asked for a alcohol-free lager - they just gave me the bottle with no offer of a glass.
