Great variety of food but only one place for coffee. It often gets to you cold

Ordered a portion of fries from the burger place, came on a saucer about 15 fries for £4!! Daylight robbery, I really feel that a portion of chips needs to be a portion of chips in a bowl, and then £4 would be ok!!

Great place for a drink however not for food. Ate the meze and it was a little expensive and unfortunately quite bland. Will return but not to eat.

How on earth is this place 4.4stars. Last time I went the cake was dry. The ramen was vinegary and soggy. This time we went. The cheesy garlic bread was greasy. Like it was made with garlic oil. The shawarma was burnt. Was a sucky night this is. I feel sick.

I am not on Facebook, so I couldn’t visit the website. We’re only in Macclesfield for a short time so I guess this venue won’t be on the agenda.

Unfortunately quite disappointed. Food was overpriced, as was the coffee. Cold, so not very comfortable. And, the worst part was how rude some staff were to our friends.

Great food and drink perfect place to meet friends and family

Great place to get together - the pizzas and burgers are great. Nice wine selection, too!

Had a (tiny glass cup) latte from PD Coffee which was unceremoniously dumped on my table with no saucer or teaspoon all for the princely sum of £3.60! Rip Off!

Brilliant place. Everyone friendly with exception of the woman who works in the bar and the woman who works in baked by bean on a Sunday, both grumpy and rude. Shame because other than that it’s great

A good place to try for a mixed experience

Lots of food choices but don't go if conversation is your thing because it's very noisy and hot!

Something for everyone, great choice of organic wines and craft ales, excellent food, especially honest crust. Good for working in the day with coffee and pastries. Always a vibe no matter what time you go.

Too expensive, not worth it. Too dry. Trash atmosphere, not vibrant people. Wanna be hipsters. Lame vibes

Great concept with choice and different providers - something for everyone. Only downside is the chairs are the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on. Take yourself a cushion!

Great place to eat if you can get a seat

hamburger is a bit small £8.5. orange soda £3.5 hm….not enough for ordinary man…….😅

Sadly this Macclesfield gem is losing its shine. A reduced variety and quality of offering with only original vendors Reubens and Honest Crust reliable, and the burger place truly awful with spectacularly rude staff. The noodle place has its moments……but currently does not sell noodles! This trip was notably bad with my order simply not arriving and after nearly an hour had to chase to find it had been missed. I did get a grudging refund but only after I kicked off: no apology and the first response being ‘well I didn’t get a ticket’. General standards seem to be on the slide also - tables not get cleared and staff surly and generally unhelpful

The Picturedrome in Macclesfield is a lovely place for a coffee and a bite to eat. We came here on a Thursday morning and the place wasn't too busy. Finding a place to sit wasn't an issue as there is plenty of seating opportunities. You had several people in there who were working from there and were having meetings or the occasional meet up with a friend. Only 3 stands were open as we were there, so the food choice was somewhat limited, nonetheless there is something for everyone's liking. To order you must use your smartphone and pay via card/app. There is a sheet on each table which explains it quite well. Food was good. The avocado on toast with labneh (for 10£) was excellent, whereas the poached eggs on toast with bacon (for 10£ too) was slightly underwhelming and the presentation was loveless. Can't say the same for the avocado on toast from another stand as that was just 10/10, even the presentation and the portion size. Service was what you'd expect and friendly. They took good care of us and made sure everything was alright with our food. Atmosphere was OK. It was very loud, although few people were there. The kitchens are open so you hear all the clanking of the pots and dishes being put away. There is a little, wood fired pizza oven in there too, which I can only imagine, is a lovely idea, though the smoke and smell of the burning wood made us leave sooner than we had hoped. Definitely worth the visit and experience, but probably nothing for a frequent visit or a larger get together with friends and family.

Been here a few times now but recommended to some friends who hadn't! They loved the choice of food from all different outlets! Really nice quirky festival feel about the place! Great atmosphere! Enjoyed the sharing kebabs flat breads etc wooden board platter!

The venue is great but it’s a bit ‘fur coat and no knickers’ as the food isn’t great and massively overpriced. Nice beers from Black Jack but, again, massively overpriced. This is more a place for those type of people who see themselves as “foodies” but have little understanding as to what constitutes genuinely good food.

I like the Picturedrome. It's a street food style enterprise, so you order via app from different vendors. So it's hard to rate it overall on food as I can never remember where I ordered from. The coffee is great and the sandwiches too, also hear dgood things about the shawarma. Sometimes, the wait staff don't know what they're delivering though. Bit annoying if there are several of you ordering separately. I presume because Picturedrome employs wait staff to deliver to tables from various vendors so they are just jetting the goods Always clean and the toilets are clean too. There is also a small children's are with some toys, books and soft furnishings.

Lovely place very expensive food though

An excellent selection of beers. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The food was nice but slightly overpriced. You are asked to tip before service. Well worth a one-off visit. Dogs are welcome.

Visited Picturedrome with 2 dogs & a baby, plenty of room, big choice of food & excellent coffee, a bit noisy when trying to chat but otherwise what a great place!

Love the food and the service was fantastic!! Cannot fault it other than it was EXTREMELY expensive!! £6 for pitta bread YIKES 😟. I wasn’t hoping to spend as much as I did but in fairness it did feed 6 adults?! The meat platter which said was for two, was filled to the brim with tasty food and fed 3 of us. I will point out that we came on a Sunday and there didn’t seem to be many guests eating there 🤷🏼‍♀️ I can’t say if it’s like this all the time but it seemed fairly quiet? A sort of non atmospheric experience…

Great Foodmarket in Macc - Good Pizza and Burgers

Went in yesterday to get breakfast for the family. Ordered our food and was told at this point card only. No signs anywhere advising this and absolutely wouldn't budge to take my cash so we walked out. Shame as we've eaten there before with no issues and it was lovely. Won't be going back.

We went here with a group and I was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere and great food in this used-to-be cinema. The service was to the point and fast, but not very helpful in getting receits or adaptations to the menu

We had dishes from a few places. I would say it's close to London prices, but far off London quality. Distinctly average food, served in an unreal venue. I'd be happy to pay more, but I also expect more. This would be an awesome place for a beer or coffee, but for dinner I'd head somewhere else.

Really poor breakfast from the Ruben’s concession, over priced, served cold, and completely overdone in terms of sauces/spices.

Overpriced poor standard food. Thought to eat out for a treat, but it wasn't a treat by any stretch of the imagination.

Worst char siu I have ever eaten. The pathetic three pieces of fatty pork i was served with overcooked rice and an idly salted cabbage was an insult to any pallet and would have been a waste of money if it were free.

We visited here yesterday, we had to share a table with strangers here as there was nowhere else to sit. The service was atrocious, never again will I or my family visit here. I am concerned that I may have to drive past this place again and revisit the distress of this place. I ordered a Caesar salad and was treated by a plate of sauce, lettuce (not romaine) and ANCHOVIES. We also ordered a chicken burger which we had to order chips separately for, considering we paid extra for this basic extra to receive the dregs of the bag of a frozen bag of chips was VILE! The worst possible standard I have ever seen for a market hall/ food court. There was a projected screen in here which was blocked by wires and cobwebs, I am unsure if anything will be streamed here in future but I would not visit this place to watch anything on this awful projection. What a waste of money buying that was. I’m sure HMRC would question this screen as a tax write off as it literally adds nothing.

Went for first time with my Husband and Son, Sons birthday, loved it, lots of choice, food was amazing bit pricey but well worth it will defo go back again

Buzzing, informal atmosphere, full of people having a good (day) time. Works for us because I can have a lovely Reubens and the kids can have pizzas or fish and chips. Ordering via the App is efficient, the friendly staff bring everything over. Love the repurposed building.

Great quality food, great drinks particularly the wines and cocktails, lots of choice.

Market type food hall. Very quiet at lunchtime. Didn't fancy any of food options which looked very average and priced strongly. Beer quality in bar was not acceptable.

Send Noods :Trying to find and having to download yet another app to an overextended mobile really doesn't work for me.I ordered pizza instead from another concession which was a 5 second tap of a phone transaction! Asking customers to download and use third party apps all the time is business prevention not a savvy use of technology.

HONEST CRUST What an amazing pizza, caesars salad and olives. The staff at Honest Crust were so friendly and the food was amazing. The people at the next table saw our salad and olives and popped in to get some. Worth a visit to the Picturedrome just to get a pizza from here.

Not bad but they do server black potatoes, beer was good though Burger was great which made up for the potato wedges. XXXX

Had a lovely local beer in the sun , was waiting for the Mrs to get her hair done. Wish she was with me as the pizza was too big for just myself. Really nice though!

It should be standard that every town/city has a food hall like this. Why they got rid of food courts in shopping centres etc is beyond me but if we needed them to die for this to be born then I’m happy with that as I adore it. I’ve been to the Alty Market and the Mackie Mayor one so I’m big fan. Although a lot of the offering is the same as the others I don’t really mind, it’s almost somewhat more pleasing as it’s familiar. The place was spotless and the renovation to the building is insanely beautiful. We had Honest Crust Pizza. No complaints, delicious. Now how about one in Stoke-on-Trent?

The food here was excellent, highly reccomend anything from Send Noods 😋 proper yummy! And the coffee from PD coffee was so good after too. Lovely building!

Food was cold ...not a lover of the beers here

Looks like a great atmosphere but no choice for vegetarians except cake coffee or juice nothing substantial I was looking for a sandwich or something similar to take our but the man at one of the outlets said there wasn’t anywhere there for a sandwich (other than bacon egg sausage etc ) which I wasn’t interested in .. in the end went to Tesco for a sandwich … if you eat meat & like a drink then it’s great for you but non meat eaters don’t bother …. Pizza place was closed too

We have given the Picturedrome many chances to succeed and it just can’t seem to quite pull it off. Food & drink: almost everything we’ve tried has been really disappointing. Aside from the extortionate price (which we would forgive if it was half decent), we’ll start with the burgers, they constantly come out with a burnt bun and become inedible. Thought we got unlucky 3 times in a row but looking at the other review photos this seems a common thing. Kebab/wraps/gyros - inedible bread and chewy meat, cold. Coffee is the worst, smallest & costliest we’ve had in Macclesfield, don’t know why I keep trying to like it …! Ramen - not authentic, barely inspired - not ramen, just using the name - appears to have been made by someone without a tongue who just adds soy sauce to make it ‘Asian flavored’. Big probs to the cake shop which is lovely. Haven’t tried pizzas but have heard good things. The worst part is the service by the waiting staff who seem to all rather be unalived - fair enough in this economy on minimum wage but could you all just stop slamming the plates down on the tables? All miserable, haven’t got bare minimum politeness or even a thank you out of any of them and I think we’ve had them all now. The saving grace is the atmosphere as well as the small shop at the entrance. It’s a ‘cool’ place to go and the aesthetic almost makes you forget what you’re eating and who is serving it… Almost.

Visited here having visited the sister venue in Altrincham a lot. It’s another fantastic addition to a previously redundant building. The staff were extremely nice and helpful (at the two bars especially) albeit the table team was not as proactive and quick as they could have been. There’s an incredible selection of food, from pizza, to pasta, to burgers and steak, oh and cake! Plenty and tables inside as well as an outdoor area too. Dogs are welcome as well. I had the chicken Schwarma which was delicious. My daughters had the pizza. The latter is thin based, the freshest ingredients and they devoured them. From families (there was a couple with a six day old baby next to us!) to couples, it caters for everyone. My parents are frequent visitors too!

It's a great food marketplace, with a bubbly atmosphere and is usually busy. It's a great place to bring children, friends or a date. Very reliable, but can be a little on the pricier side.

Lots of different places to eat , family friendly . Really nice chilled and relaxed vibe . We had food from ruebens and had a chicken swarmma kebab. And little man had a burger an chips from tender cow . It’s busy place so sharing tables I would expect . But please do try

Disappointing. Food we had was mediocre and over priced for what it was. Perhaps we picked a bad time too. Many young children running around unsupervised as the parents focused on their booze. Cross between a playground and a MickieD's play party.

Service isn't the fastest and if you're just looking for a Sunday morning latte, prepare to pay £3.85 for a small glass cup, which about the priciest in Macc. Less costs more in this particular case.

Visited tonight with a party of 12. Food and drink was delicious and service was great! Wide selection to choose from. Everybody’s food and drink arrived at similar times.

I’m a regular at the Picturedrome, so may be a little biased, but quite frankly I never tire of this place. Admittedly I have my favourite outlets and some are more friendly than others, but you just can’t go wrong with it. I booked for a group of 16 of us, as a family get together. We can never all get together at the same time around Christmas so it was an ideal time and an ideal venue in early February for us to do exactly that. Booking the tables with Danielle, the General Manager, was an easy process. On the day we got there the tables were clean and reserved for us. We all ordered our food from the many different outlets. Most of us had the Sunday roast from Tender Cow which was fantastic. In fact, it was so busy that day the roasts sold out by early afternoon, so we were glad we booked for 1pm. The Picturedrome team were friendly and attentive and kept our tables tidy between drinks and courses. Totally recommend the Picturedrome for all occasions!

Lovely place, good atmosphere, efficient staff.

Our food from Rubén’s was really poor. We went at a very quiet time, the food was not great, tasted like reheated leftovers, stale and unappetising.

Really great venue for lunch. Plenty of choice and prices are pretty fair. It was really busy at lunchtime and we struggled to get a table, but is nice to see places busy.

Picture drome has approx 6 food outlets & a bar. Nice casual atmosphere just find yourself a table order your food & wait for it to be brought to your table 🙂 we had gourmet burgers £12 each & fries £3 each followed by some lovely cake mmmm from a different outlet ( about a tenner ) Personally I'd say it's a bit on the pricey side but for an occasional treat why not spoil yourself!!

We could not believe what a great place this was! The atmosphere was buzzing. So much choice, too. I had ramen and my husband had pizza and a couple of pints. Fantastic place. Delicious food. Great value

Stopped off for a delicious and festive schmore hot chocolate and couldnt help but get a pizza! lovely staff, beautiful architecture and perfect for kids to with the cute little play area 🍫

Good selection of food, and tasty. Order via an app and it arrived fairly quickly - although if you order from multiple kitchens then it can arrive at different times. It was very noisy today - hard to have a relaxed conversation, and they missed the chips off a kids burger order, but otherwise fine. Go here with your mates rather than your parents or grandparents.

Terrible - what a shame - so much potential. This place should be so good. We have been disappointed every time. More recently we ordered food that never arrived and despite being promised a refund it has not come through. I can’t believe they treat customers like that and the only option appears court proceedings but how ridiculous…

Great. Quirky bar/foodhall in a former cinema, built in the early 1911.

The place is beautifully lit and decorated, too bad it takes from the atmosphere that you're encouraged not to talk to people, but order on an app from the table. Went back to my table, ordered. Not much choice, especially in the morning. Almost nothing gluten free. Even the fries were too salty. Other than that, quite bland. I'm hoping they have more options for lunch/dinner but this is one of the more highly anticipated and sadly disappointing brunches I've had in the city.

All fab as usual. Love this place. Especially loved veggie options/sharing platter for my veggie daughter 😋

Something to suit everyone, The excellent food arrived quickly and the atmosphere was relaxing. Looking forward to trying outdoors on a warmer day.

18/11/23: very busy but we only waited a short while to get served. Just as creative and welcoming at Mackie Mayor in both Manchester City Centre and the one in Altrincham. Same format, same level of service, same great food. More beer choices here though!

Just popped in for food on way home, as usual the most friendly staff possible.

Went as a couple and baby on a Friday, plenty of space for us and the buggy. Ordered from a few of the vendors and all came in good timing. Each option was delicious and decent portions. Fair prices too. Beers from blackjack brewery. The local car park was cheap enough but also free after 15:00 which was a bonus. Within 2min walk. There was a lovely little shop at the entrance with local artsy items too if your in need of a gift or treat for yourself. There was a corner which looked like it had an area kids could play comfortably on the floor and a sofa. There was a film also projected on the wall above but no sound. Place had a lovely calm vibe to finish the week.

Something has gone very wrong with the Picturedrome recently. Where it used to be a packed and buzzing location where it was hard to get a table, it's now quite the opposite. The interior is still great to look at, the surroundings are pleasant, but these days that's as far as it stretches. I've visited three times in recent weeks for various reasons and the results have been the same each time - mardy, unhelpful, couldn't care less staff at most of the concessions (the pizza place was the exception). For example, my sister tried to order a burger a few minutes before noon - she was sent away with a flea in her ear, so she bought granola from a different stand at a lower price meaning lost revenue for them. My wife often has the lamb shwarma, but asked for no harissa - didn't go down well. The result was a dry selection of fried chicken with nothing on it. It felt like a FU by the cook. The coffee guy made no attempt to recognise I was waiting, no greeting at all. When he deigned to talk to me he was blunt and rude. Overall, the cook staff (not the wait staff, they're great) are surly, indignant, with a take it or leave it style. So, after many visits since the PD opened we've decided we'll leave it, thanks and go to where our business is valued. Given how it's quite easy to get a seat these days I suspect others have come to the same conclusion...

Food is all really good, but it can be hard to find veggie food at some of the stands

Overpriced and overrated, food really isn’t good and we tried a number of stalls, can get a high quality meal from a proper restaurant with good service for the price

Ordered the lamb shawarma from Reuben’s. It consisted of chunks of lamb fat with very little lamb meat. When brought to the attention of staff no refund was offered. Terrible service for a terrible meal. Would not recommend eating here

Great selection of food, we had katsu chicken with rice, Katsu prawns and duck ramen, all very tasty and came very quickly too!

We had an amazing evening celebrating the opening of CRATE Cheshire and will definitely be back

great idea but £12.50 for one slice of eggy bread in a bath of hendersons relish that took ages to arrive total rip off. at another stall nearly £10 for beans on toast.
