Awful food. Dry rolls, side salad smothered in oil and very very salty. Fillings were not generous. Husbands pasty had no side salad or coleslaw. Cafe needs a serious shake up. Would not recommend at all.

Ann's Pasties are famous. And this place here serves them. Naturally we've had to try them. Located on the busy Church street it's impossible to miss. Very friendly staff, a nice setting with some tables outside to watch the world go by. Fair prices as well and dogfriendly. A sunny day, so we took a table outside. Ordered the classic cornish pasty with steak filling. And it was a fine pasty. But not the best we've ever had. The pasty could have been crispier, the filling a bit more spiced up. Did taste a bit bland. But recipes are different, tastes are different. It was good - but not great. Nice was the size, a really big pasty with lots of stuffing. It's really a whole meal for itself. All in all still a fine visit. The location was great, we enjoyed sitting down and to watch all the action.

Ordered a crab sandwich to go.. Got it home and have to say very disappointing. White ciabatta roll was dry and the crab was a little on the lean side. Even with the small amount of crab I managed a piece of shell with every bite! Simply not good enough..

Waited 20+ minutes for order to be served, at a table that had not been cleared. The 'Ann's Steak Pasty' had precisely 5 small pieces of meat in it, plus 1 piece of gristle. The Americano coffees were like dishwater - undrinkable. And they were served in takeaway cups - they had run out of cups because they hadn't cleared tables. Complained to staff, got a very half-hearted apology.

Visited for lunch whilst in the area, dog friendly we liked the food but it was very expensive for what we had & the type of place. It cost £7-95 for onion soup which was very average and actually the most expensive soup we had in Cornwall. We would expect to pay this in a restaurant or pub If it was good soup. It came with a large amount of bread. We also had a Anne’s pasty which was good. Staff were friendly, nice to allow dogs.

I have to confess, I do like this place. The service isn't speedy (it's Cornish "dreckly" style), but if you're not in a rush you'll do well. It's always clean and well stocked, and the food is good, as is the coffee. We popped in for a light brekkie: sausage bap & black americano, bacon bap & latte. Yum. Thought I'd give this place another go - big mistake, it was worse than last time although the two guys serving tried hard. Coffee wrong, complained, wrong a second time. American was alright. Sausage roll looked a bit pink on the inside and was burnt on the outside. Cheese pasty had no cheese and the watercrust pastry was overcooked and very hard/tough on the outside. Got a refund. Will not go again. I would suggest from looking at the pasty tray that if these are bought in, you should change your supplier. If you make them yourself, sack the cook (couldn't have been a chef). I also saw several others complain so something is not right here.

We had the best cup of Coffee here, during our stay in Cornwall. This is a small place, that you could just walk by. It has a couple of small tables and chairs outside on the street and you get a chance, not only to take a breather and watch the world go by, but also to see Trevor the Seagull, who appears to have made it, his territory, where he pops down for an occasional wander, checking out the Subway tables a few doors down, when untidy guests have departed. All round a very nice, little place, to take the weight off your feet.

We have been coming for years. There was no crab, bacon or pasties as the waiter loudly informed us. He then served us cold soup which we overheard was frozen! We asked for it to be reheated which took 10 minutes. After ordering 3 'toasted sandwiches' and waiting 20 minutes for them I ended up taking mine back! Bearing in mind they are £5.25 each, they aren't sandwiches they are rolls, they also aren't actually toasted the roll was, and boy was it toasted! They certainly had a feeling of winter to them, like the open fire logs chard feel. They basically toast a roll and shove a bit of filling in there (goats cheese and rocket) but the filling is cold..... toasted sandwich... yet not a sandwich or toasted!! I took mine back and the guy serving was so rude I asked for a refund and he said 'why what's wrong with it?' Not 'sorry madam was there a problem?' And when I explained to him he laughed and said 'that's what we call a toasted sandwich' well I don't! And even if I was happy with the cold filling £5.25 is a rip off for what they gave us!!! Just Check out baker toms down the road that all!

Stopped at this cafe for a midday light snack. My friend ordered the 'steak' pasty. I had a coffee. The coffee was cold, I had to ask for a small jug of hot water. When I mentioned the water was because the coffee was cold there was no response, mainly I think because the young man at the counter had struck up a conversation with a friend who had popped in behind me. When I went back to the outside seating my friend had started tucking into her pasty. It was awful. The steak was non existent...the rest of the filling was tepid, at best, so she left it, which believe me she does not normally do. Again I really wished I'd read reviews on TripAdvisor BEFORE going into this cafe. I will say, the only saving grace is that the 2 young men serving were very cheerful, although whilst they were chatting they could have been clearing tables. It's a shame really, it just needs a bit more care about the food/products being served to the customer and this little cafe could be the place to go.

While being a bit hipster, this place is still worthy of praise. Now, I don't like eating off a roof tile any more than the next person, but they do some great baked goods, salads and other stuff that takes your mind off wondering if it comes free with the meal and where it would best look attached to my roof. On our day out in Falmouth we decided to stop for a late lunch, we spotted PICNIC and decided to give it a try.. What a mistake that was! The interior was really lovely! We went to the till and ordered our food and drink , he told me to take the bottle of elderflower from the fridge behind me, but did not offer a glass or cutlery which I later had to ask for after. My friend ordered a latte which came half full in the cup and a goats cheese toastie. 20 mins later he brought the food over (how long does it take to make a sandwich, there were two other people in the whole place!) my friend realised her sandwich wasn't toasted as she had ordered, so he took it back to toast... Another 10 minutes later (by this time our drinks were gone) he returned with what we thought was my friends toasted goats cheese sandwich.. However when biting into it she soon discovered this was not goats cheese as ordered it was halloumi! So again was sent back (by this time my sandwich was gone) after another 5 mins the other table next to us complained she also had the wrong sandwich. We had been there nearly 45 mins before my friend received the toasted sandwich.. This time with no coleslaw which was on the plate previously and stated on the menu! She decided to make do..During this time we were not offered another drink or a refund! Working in hospitality I am usually very understanding and don't like to complain but the customer service was appalling, they didn't seem apologetic about the situation and the two servers were swearing across the seated area. Overall we waited about an hour for a toasted sandwich which to be honest wasn't worth the £7.00 and we certainly will not be returning!

The 6 of us ordered in pairs one after the other and yet there was a 15 min break between the first pair of dishes arriving and the rest.

We always buy your sandwiches at Picnic Cornwall. They are using local Cornish produce and everything is freshly made. Super quality and delicious!

Having read previous reviews, and always wanting to support local businesses, we recently called in for crab sandwiches at this venue. It was mid afternoon and the cafe was relatively quite, the staff were friendly and helpful. We received our order but were surprised to find that the cutlery supplied was wet, greasy and had residues of food on it.

Wanted this to be great and the boys did enjoy their sausage sandwich without the tomato chutney. The sandwich came in a very dry teacake as no butter or anything was added and two tiny slices of streaky bacon which occupied about a third of the teacake.

My family popped in for a cake, coffee and milkshakes. Picnic was very cool, clean and nicely presented with a lovely section of cakes, pasties and local produce. I feel the staff went out of their way to make sure my family were catered for. When one of my children accidentally knocked a glass off the table and consequently got upset the lady who dealt with us was very kind and didn't make us feel unwelcome or awkward which was much appreciated. My husband and I thought the coffee was AMAZING and my kids loved the chocolate milkshake. I highly recommend Picnic.

Stumbled across this delightful little coffee shop whilst on a day trip to Falmouth. Couldn't fault the place. Great service from friendly attentive staff, delicious hot coffee and yummy cakes. I had the carrot cake which was to die for and big enough for two! Coffee was served in funky modern cups and cake came on enamelled white and blue camping plates. Tables are made from scaffolding topped with rustic planks, there are cool matching steel chairs and stools. Loved this place.

Really nice afternoon snack! Came with a friend and was a nice place to sit! Cakes were really moist and the milkshakes hit the spot! The surprise of the marshmallows when you get to the bottoms were a added bouns! Will be back again soon!

Popped in here for much needed refreshment & enjoyed a very nice milk shake (slightly pricey but nice) & cake. Sat outside enjoying the sunshine & relaxing very nice salted caramel flapjack & good portion size. Very nice place not cheap but good quality, you get what you pay for.

Potentially a great little cafe let down by terribly slow service. We also noticed that tables were left uncleared and overall a little scruffy. We noticed a French family turn their noses up at the lack of cleanliness and walk away...not a good advert!

We visited three years ago and being back in Falmouth decided to pay a return visit and see if this cafe was still a good place to go. The good news is yes, in fact it's better. Although a little pricey it is excellent value as the food is copious and great quality. If all you are looking for is a coffee, I can recommend a stop here, the coffee is smooth and flavoursome. We will definitely return when next in Falmouth.

Ordered a sandwich and 2 coffees, 1 skinny and 1 normal. Took them nearly 5 minutes to serve us and then a further 20 mins to get the coffees out. What a shame that they were both skinny. So back inside for another 10 minute wait for it to be re done. We finally asked for it in a takeaway cup as everybody else has finished their food and drink.

What a great little find. We sat outside, the family had tea and scones with jam & cream. I had delicious vanilla ice cream, with a cappuccino. Very generous portions, excellent service and friendly staff. The shop inside was also a lovely surprise with lots of lovely food based goods to buy as a momento of Falmouth.

A lovely little cafe. Busy but welcoming. And all day breakfast that really is all day. Right up until they stop doing food.

Came here yesterday and ordered a hot chocolate, cappuccino, tiffin and a brownie. It took 5minutes for the girl to put it in the till and another 10 mins to make it - we were the only customers! When it finally arrived I had more hot chocolate, cream and marshmallows on the saucer than I did in the cup! It was was warm not hot. My husbands cappuccino turned up as a latte and again was warm. Brownie was inedible.

Came here with my friend recently - we ordered two teas which were pretty darn expensive, and I asked why I was overcharged for the both of them...because they charge extra for soya milk! I cannot stand places who charge extra for this, people shouldn't be penalized if they cannot have dairy! I would slightly understand if they charged extra for hot chocolates or something with more quantity of milk, as I get that its used less and more expensive to buy than cows milk.. but for a tiny drop in a cup of tea it was 30p more (and was not advertised anywhere as being extra money). I feel I should have been advised of this as a customer who was expecting to pay for what it said on the board. I reluctantly sat down anyway but the tea was extremely spicy tasting and not up my street at all (not their fault for what the tea tastes like of course, just my opinion). I wouldn't say I would not come again but I'll be ordering a different drink next time and probably suffer with the consequences of dairy rather than pay extra! (I'm stubborn and stingy like that..).

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.

Had a lovely meal,Rump Steak& Croft Burger, then sweets to finish. Great food and service. Shame the weather wasn't a little better as we would have sat outside after our meal.

We were on holiday and ended up eating here 3 times. We had our dog who typically was nervous in eating places so we never bothered eating out, we were given a table in the corner and asked for the same one every time which they obliged as she was settled, it helped that the staff were all so helpful and the food was so nice, would highly recommend the Pityme Inn and we will visit again, it made our holiday
