Picnic Cafe, Coffee Lounge & Deli in Worthing

Whilst touring around we stopped here for lunch and so glad we did. A very pleasant cafe, lovely people running it , great food. The first thing you notice is how well kept and clean this place is. Secondly it’s difficult to choose from the varied menu, so many favourites.! So pleased I chose the sausage and mash. Never thought I’d rave about sausage & mash but it was lovely. Everything is cooked to perfection with high quality ingredients. Well worth a visit. If I lived nearby I’d be eating there regularly

What a great place. A real gem. James and Martin are most welcoming and the service is second to none. The food is well prepared and tasty and the surroundings are vibrant, clean and comfortable. I read in a previous review that being disabled would be a problem here. Not so at all. Everyone is made to feel most welcome, even our dog. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful little cafe where you always feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Not my first visit and won’t be my last. Food is always excellent and the menu is good and portions large. Have visited in the past with my elderly parents and friend and the owners always go out of their way to accommodate their needs. Oh, and the dog loves it too! Would highly recommend.

Completely ableist staff who do not accommodate for disabilities. I have an autistic daughter and their loud music constantly caused meltdowns for her which they refused to do anything about

Foods good , run by two men one cooks lovely food the other is front of house . The front of house guy is slightly rude on occasions . Recommend booking . Would of given 5 stars apart from the front of house guy .

First time visit and so very impressed! My wife and I enjoyed an excellent brunch which had clearly been made using first class ingredients and cooked to a very high standard. The staff were very warm and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit will come again.

we were there as a group so took up all of the cafe. it was on thanksgiving. the food was yummy! the service was outstanding. There wasnt anything that was too much for James and Martin and the lovely woman who helped with service. check out the keylime pie!!!!! Thankyou, Look forward to the next visit.

Visit here once a week owners are friendly always welcoming and happy to see you Food selection is good plenty to choose from and changes regularly so always a fresh variety to choose from Portions are large and the pricing is fantastic Atmosphere is not what you would expect it’s like walking into a Spanish bar which always makes me smile. Great selection of sprites as well as they have a alcohol licence which is an added bonus If your in Worthing book a table and give it a try you will not be disappointed

We popped in for breakfast and immediately felt the cosy friendly atmosphere. We were seated at an extremely nice table and comfortable chairs and very quickly served with our coffees. We ordered breakfast which came promptly and was delicious, the staff are very friendly and there is a community feel and we enjoyed our food and the whole experience of this lovely cafe. We would definitely go again for the food and chat with the staff and highly recommend. Debra

We only chose to stop here because there was a parking space available directly outside.We were so lucky!The staff are friendly and welcoming. My friend and I take day trips to Worthing from time to time. This was our first trip since February and we were keen to find a cafe which would be serving a sit in meal safely. We called Picnic Cafe in advance as it recommends you reserve a table. The cafe is very clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. There were other diners in the cafe, but everything was well distanced and organised. We both ordered set breakfasts, which came with tea/coffee and toast. There are lots of other choices, but part of our day trip ritual is to eat a decent breakfast/brunch. Everything was cooked freshly and the portions were generous and not at all greasy. Even though the cafe is on a very busy road, it's tranquil inside and well worth a visit.

Came here for the first (but not last) time today; 3 adults & a toddler for breakfast. Lucky enough to get the last table & they accommodated us ordering at separate times to make sure Mummy & Daddy could both get to eat! Fantastic breakfast, great quality sausages, lovely hash browns and the extra black pudding we ordered was HUGE! Managed to polish it all off.. Thanks again, we will return.

Feast fit for a king....... Sunday lunch at its best. Great food as always, plentiful. Great atmosphere and of course the owners are as friendly as ever. Can’t recommend it enough, but you must book to avoid disappointment.

We visited for lunch on Saturday with our nervous dog. All the staff were so friendly and helpful especially as our dog can get very worried in new surroundings. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food delicious and generous portions. They even gave our dog a sausage and some water which was so thoughtful. We would highly recommend eating here and would definitely visit again.

I have eaten here on a number of occasions,yesterday I went for the all day breakfast generous portion of bacon and perfectly cooked black pudding along with egg and grilled tomatoes,toast butter and marmalade all for £7 outstanding value to my mind.Last week I took a friend for lunch ,scampi chips and peas he complained there was so much he couldn’t eat it all,there were over fifteen pieces of scampi!!If you eat at Picnic you won’t leave hungry!

I booked a party of 8 to go here for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. First off, if you want to go on a Sunday at a certain time its worth booking in advance. Especially for a larger group.8 different breakfasts ordered, all were excellent. Here its all fresh and cooked to order so does take a little longer than other places nearby, but it is worth the wait. Quality of food, service and cafe itself is a long way ahead of competition. Great place, go and enjoy!

Called in as we were passing by on our way home and what a fantastic find! Lovely decor, exceptionally clean and the food was excellent. The staff are super friendly and efficient too. I just wish it was nearer to home, as we would definitely be regulars!!

This is a gem of a place. Have been a regular customer for the last 3 years. The Restuarant is run By a lovely couple Martin and James for whom nothing is too much trouble. Food is freshly cooked and very generous portions. Big bonus is its dog friendly There is always sausage and cold bowl of water for my fur babies. Cant fault Picnic. Love itx

Yet another excellent breakfast. Eggs just how I like them, and nothing is too much trouble. No rush to clear out like some places. Perfect way to start a Sunday. Always friendly and accommodating. All booked in for next weekend and taking family. Never concerned about taking friends or family there as it’s always excellent. Nice addition to the regular are the theme nights, if you can get it as they are do popular. Great place, great food.....totally recommended.

I’m normally there for a brilliant breakfast, but just went in for lunch. Quite simply, probably the best, tastiest burger you will ever have! Chocolate milkshake also the best. Thanks!!

We are regular visitors to this cafe as the food is cooked beautifully and delicious and the owners are great. They have changed their menu recently and now offer vegan breakfast, dairy free alternatives and gluten free bread. They also serve lovely gluten and dairy free sauté potatoes.

Quite simply the best breakfast on the south coast, really good quality food, well cooked and extremely reasonable pricing, it is so good that I would recommend booking ahead to ensure you dont miss out.

All fur coat and no knickers Mediocre food not worth spending the time writing a review, I ordered burger chips and beans and although the menus states this comes with a bun and salad these were nowhere to be seen.

Booked a table for breakfast. Had no expectations just wanted somwhere to meet and take our pooch along too. What a find this place is. A warm welcome greeted us and our schnauzer. Big bowl of clean water for dogs and a little bowl of treats too.

We love this cafe as it is consistently good food, well cooked. Breakfast was top of our priority on Friday morning and Picnic did not disappoint.

we stopped at the picnic cafe located on the A27 on our way back home to weymouth for a cooked breakfast and it was brilliant what we did find suprising was you also got toast marmalade and jam as well as a cup of tea or coffee all included in the price of the breakfast and for £6.40 you could not fault that. But another point was the service provided and the hospitality was fantastic as well as the place being spotlessly clean, and next time we are passing through we will certainly be stopping there again.

I used to go to this café regularly but the other week, on a Sunday, we were unceremoniously told to leave because they had a booking. I don't mind that because it is obviously good for business but it was the way we were told. The stuck up owner just said we had to leave and ushered us to the door with very little explanation. It was more or less Get out. Won't be going back there again. The food takes too long to deliver anyway and is nothing special at all.

Find ourselves going every Sunday for breakfast and even booking ahead. Great breakfast, good value for money, great atmosphere. Going to try out the curry night this month. If it’s like the breakfasts, it will be great. Really looking forward to it.

From the moment you arrive you are looked after like a member of the family. It seems to be an oasis of calm. The food is individually prepared and so not hurried. The quality is excellent and always arrives piping hot. A good variety of choice both for breakfast and lunch. It is apparent that the chaps running this place really care.

It was our first time for breakfast there and we found the food good quality, with a varied selection and spoilt for choice. Brilliant. We chose the large set breakfast but for us personally we're not keen on tinned tomato's, would have preferred grilled.

This is literally the best breakfast in Worthing. My other half and I love going out for breakfast and when we found Picnic we were more than satisfied. Top quality food with friendly owners and well priced. We just keep going back and definitely will in the future!

I went into Picnic cafe with my friends the other day. For my friends husbands bday meal we went for a roast dinner and it’s honestly the best roast dinner I’ve ever had. Fresh and homemade and very tasty! They are also dog friendly which I didn’t realise and will be taking my dog @teddy_poochon on instagram there. Thanks and will be coming a lot! Staff there are so so friendly and lovely.

We popped in here after searching for a dog friendly pub in the area. What a lovely place, they greeted our puppy and us very kindly, our puppy even got some sausage as a treat which she loved. Food was delicious, coffee was yummy and staff were all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Food is always excellent and freshly prepared. There can be a bit of a delay but remember good food is worth waiting for. Particularly recommend the fish finger sandwich!

Seriously cannot rate this place high enough. I’m fortunate to live nearby and visit regularly - place always clean and tidy, nice atmosphere, the owners are passionate about good service and creating great food. Currently I’m hooked on the scrambled eggs, just simply the best you will ever taste.

Met a friend for breakfast and had the best Eggs Benedict I've had in a very long time. It's my treat breakfast if choice as I wouldn't usually make it at home. Had an early Ferry to Newhaven and saw dog friendly sign outside so stopped for late breakfast/early lunch. Very friendly, clean and great food (chicken pieces for the dog). Will definitely stop again

Visited the café for lunch with a friend and we were really pleased with the good, friendly and accommodating service and the quality of the food. I had a delicious scrambled egg and smoked salmon on toast and my friend had cheese on toast.

This area has needed to be smartened up for years, thank you Picnic for upping the shabby image of this parade. Once inside the standard continues. Fresh, smart and clean. A brilliant Sunday brunch venue, we took all of our children and even the dog, who was as equally spoilt. I have popped back for coffee on a few occasions, its a great meeting point and the coffee is excellent.

We wanted a nice spot for lunch with my mum and grandmother and I saw the reviews for picnic on trip advisor and thought we should try it. So glad we did. All food made fresh to order, beautiful cafe with sofas for a chat and coffee and tables for a full lunch. The food was exceptional as well, so much more than we were expecting. Mum and I had the bun-less steak burger, topped with cheese and delicious sautéed mushrooms, cooked to perfection, crispy chips, home made chutney was to die for (I asked for the recipe but was told it's a secret), my grandma had the scampi and again cooked perfectly, crispy batter, not greasy at all. The chef was fabulous coming out to chat with us and the other owner of the business was personable and efficient. I cannot rate this cafe highly enough. It's in an area that is sorely lacking in quality cafe friendly areas to meet for a coffee or meal or a simple (but fantastic) sandwich. You would be silly not to try this place, and it's child and dog friendly to boot. Next time I'm visiting my grandmother I will know I can bring my children and family pooch along for the ride and not have to worry about where to go for lunch. Finally, it is very reasonably priced for such amazing quality and service. I wish them every success for the future (they've only been open since march) because I would love to have such a cafe near where I live (bristol).

We visited this cafe today on a day trip to Worthing after reading positive reviews. What a brilliant place! On entering the cafe we were immediately offered chicken or sausages for our dogs. We chose chicken and a huge bowl came out straight away - all free! Dog water supplied at front door. We ourselves ordered chicken and bacon bagettes and a latte each. The bagettes were huge and full of a delicious filling and served with garnish. The coffees were served hot and with a biscuit. The price was £14 which was well worth it for what we got. The cafe is very smart, modern and clean. Seating very comfortable. The toilets were super clean, spacious and smelt wonderful! The owners are great, really friendly and chatty and polite. Very dog friendly which we loved. We would highly recommend this cafe and will be returning. It really is worth the trip. Thank you.

An excellent breakfast, quality ingredients well prepared and presented in a very pleasant setting, a shame that the hey allow dogs inside, not everyone is a fan.

Was just passing by an popped in for a coffee. I was so impressed with the decor, music, the food and general ambience that I returned later with my husband. He had a light breakfast and I had mushrooms on toast with a poached egg. As previously mentioned the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and generous. Everything about the breakfasts were delicious.

For years I have been looking for somewhere that my vegetarian wife and I can both enjoy, and from the start the owners (James and Martin) made us feel welcome and treated us like old friends. The food cooked by Martin (Tall guy) and James is absolutely excellent and he will go out of his way to accommodate your tastes ie: chips golden crispy, but fluffy inside. I cannot rate this place highly enough. I would give this place 7 stars if it had them.

I had the veggie breakfast and husband had full english. Both absolutely lovely. Our little dog loved his sausage and all the attention he got. Lovely friendly owners. We will definitely be regulars.

Dropped in on a Sunday morning as I was visiting Worthing and had left home without breakfast. Picnic has parking outside and is bright, clean and comfortable.

Every time we've been the food has been as perfect as the service. We regularly drive from home in East Preston to Worthing for breakfast and it's more than worth the journey. Although it hasn't been open long The Picnic Cafe has already established itself as one of the best cafes in the local area. Everything about it is first class, from the deliciously tasting freshly prepared food, to the service, to the friendly atmosphere resonating from the proprietors and the relaxing cafe interior within. It is evident how much effort is put into maintaining such a high standard across the board. It's now our regular Saturday morning breakfast stop! It is a credit to the local area and hopefully they will receive the support and business that they deserve. I throughly recommend this as a place to try. You will not be disappointed.

We have visited Picnic a few times over the past couple of months. Every time we have received a warm & friendly welcome and received excellent service. The owners have gone out of their way to create a lovely environment, including the fish tank scene which is popular with our kids.
