Lovely community centre with a fabulous cafe and helpful staff. Wheelchair access to grounds although it would be helpful if the entrance doors were automatic.

Great place! Food choice and quality very good. Prices very good. Staff very helpful. Customers will share tables if its busy, plus you make new friends.

We entertained 60 guests in the Shakespeare Room yesterday 4th Feb, for our Golden Wedding and Joanna provided a delicious buffet which everyone clearly enjoyed and remarked how tasty it all was. Visited the cafe for the first time today. It’s nice and clean. Very friendly and polite staff and a good selection of food. I had a slice of fruit cake and there were many biscuits to choose from. I saw a lady eating tasty looking soup with granary bread. The prices are very reasonable. Thank you.

Living locally, I have often enjoyed eating and drinking at the café on numerous occasions. Always excellent service and good food well presented. Yesterday was no exception and the baked potato, filling and amazing strawberry jam and coconut cake was a super meal. Not only that, my granddaughter was treated really well with special child friendly salad specially made for her and an individual special ice cream to cheer her up when she hurt her arm, Excellent service that goes that extra step. Many, many thanks.

Popped in today with the intention of just having a coffee (excellent by the way) but ended up having a slice of lemon drizzle cake as all the cakes look so yum. It was certainly one of the best lemon drizzle cakes I've had. Made you wince slightly from lemon but then sugar kicked in to balance it out, which is perfect. All the other cakes looked great and judging by the one I had I am sure they would taste good. Nice atmosphere in the cafe and friendly staff. I think the main man is called Kevin. His baking is second to none. Probably about my 20th visit and have never been disappointed by the food or service.

We have eaten at Cafe One 22 twice now - we found it quite by accident. We were amazed at the quality (and quantity) of the food. The chef is incredibly flexible and made us salads for our dietary requirements. The staff are super-friendly and everything is spotlessly clean and tidy. This is a true gem, almost hidden in plain sight! Seek it out - you won't be disappointed.

I took my son for breakfast here. The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious- all cooked to order and nicely presented. Will definitely come back to try some other options in the future.

My wife and I moved to West Worthing in West Sussex one year ago and one of my plans when living here is to spend time relaxing in a cafe within walking distance from where we live with a cup of tea and have a cooked breakfast. I've now eaten in lots of cafes; Cafe Montague, Black Cat, Flowers, Gildbourne Cafe, Sea View Cafe, Lido Cafe, and Istanbul cafe. Cafe One22 on Heene Road will by far give you the best cooked breakfast using quality products and presented to a high standard. I've been in the cafe during the afternoon and judging by what I've seen other customers ordered I can't wait to try other meals. And the home cooked cakes have to be seen, and eaten, to be believed. The staff and customers are very friendly. You wont be disapointed

Visited Kevin and his team at Cafe One 22 on a trip to Worthing with a friend. Not only does this place make you feel extremely welcome, it really feels like the heart of the community and the food is fantastic. I will definitely be coming back. I’ve had afternoon tea in so many places and I can honestly say this is by far better than any expensive hotel I’ve ever been to. The cakes, scones and sandwiches were all homemade and delicious and very reasonably priced for the generous portions. The customer service by the staff was fantastic and Kevin’s brilliant personality really makes this place stand out from the rest. So good we’ve been in twice in two days, once for lunch as well as the afternoon tea. Highly recommend both! Thank you for making our trip :) Becky & Lynn

I say it is the best cafe in Worthing because the food is wonderful. The presentation is fab and the quality of food is fab. Generous portions for the price as well. The friendly service you receive from the staff particularly from Kevin who runs the cafe. He is so passionate about what he does and it really comes across. He gets up early every day and makes his own cakes and scones, coleslaw etc . The coffee is lovely too. I have had various lunches all of which have been fab but I thought I had to mention the best breakfast ever out of all of the ones we have tried in Worthing is here 👍👍

I can not praise Kevin and his staff enough. I travel the world in my job and yet nowhere matches the food quality and delivery of cafe one22. His homemade cakes, scones and food are exceptional.....and his friendly banter, humoured and personal touch just add to the overall atmosphere.

Love this place but today it was shocking, waited forever for our food to discover Kevin had popped out to pick up a member of staff while we waited for our food! Taxi anyone???? Then when it came it was wrong and quality was shocking! Let’s hope it’s a one off.

My wife took us out for a light lunch and we tried Cafe one 22. We both had sandwiches, the presentation and quality was absolutely outstanding, staff were really great. You would not get this quality of food at their prices in a Michelin starred restaurant.Thank You

Kevin, Louise and the wonderful staff did the catering for my Dads 90th. The attention to detail and care they put in to making it a great event were second to none. Beautifully presented and really wholesome hot food with homemade apple pie and more for after. Everyone loved it. I can't thank them enough. I could totally relax knowing they really care about what they do.

Really great cakes and service. Loss of stars as now closed earlier despite the place being full of parents waiting for ballet lessons etc. Hope a change of mind will extend hours back to how they were before.

What a perfect way to start your Birthday! The most wonderful food and friendly staff. My husband cooks and we eat healthy, nutritious food so we're fussy about what w eat. This is the only place we go...the food is just WONDERFUL! I went to this cafe with my 88 year old mother, my niece and her baby daughter. We ordered our food at 1.10pm, by 1.40 we were getting hungry and wondering why other peoples food was coming out before ours even though they ordered after us. We asked the uninterested waitress when we could expect our food and were told it was the next order to come out. Two more tables were given their food, we asked again saying that we had been waiting nearly an hour. The waitress came over with our money saying the 'chef' had said he would not be making it! We were absolutely appalled, we had not been rude or angry, we just wanted our order. My niece couldn't believe what had happened, went to ask why and was shouted at by the chef telling her to get out! That he was rushed off his feet!! I've have never experienced such unnecessary rude behaviour, ever. My 88 year old mother was so hungry and by how it was 2pm. I would definitely NOT recommend this appalling place.

Appalling service. Had to wait 55mins for 3 sandwiches. No apology. Another table of diners asked where there sandwiches were and they refused to make them because they queried the length of time it taking to make them. Will never go there again or recommend to anyone.

50 people arrived for a dinner and dance 15th December. Amazing Food served on the night, hot plates dishes. The quality of the food was 5*** you would not for one moment believe you was in a community centre. I got off the plane at Gatwick after being away from UK for 5 months and drove straight to Cafe 22 for breakfast before going home! I knew I would be welcomed home by Kevin the owner who served me the most amazing hot porridge. He made a simple breakfast dish look and taste an exotic, first class experience, with its taste and presentation. Fresh Berry's, nuts, honey, accompanied the dish in little pots, and all served on a flint plate.Absoluty stunning,and a lovely warm welcome home

Have been many times to this wonderful Cafe One22. This Cafe is the best Cafe that I have ever been to. Attractive decor, great garden in the summer, really good Coffee/Tea, huge tasty lunches and the cakes are out of this world! Kevin is a great host and makes you feel very special and very welcome.

I went on valentines day for coffee and cake with a couple of my friends. I'd never been before and when my friend said we were going to the Heene community centre for coffee I just thought it would be cheap and cheerful and basic. How wrong I was..the place is amazing! It's like a bistro style cafe with comfy chairs and modern decor to rival any high street cafe.The food is something else. We just had cake(chocolate cup cakes with strawberries and glittery topping and lemon tart!) but the array of food you could have was amazing. All cooked fresh and served looking incredible.The community hub itself is such a thriving, vibrant place with loads of activities going on, by the time we left the cafe (just before noon) the tables were filling up fast.Try it, you won't be disappointed.

A favourite treat for me is breakfast a la CafeOne22! Home made grenola with fruit puree and yoghurt in a glass, topped by fresh fruit. Fabulous.

Best Cafe in Worthing FULL STOP!!!

...as I want this place to be my secret and no one else knowing about it! By far the best place for coffee, cake and lunch for miles. Quality and presentation of food is beautiful and excellent value for money.

My partner and I love going for lunch here, the quality and standard of the food is by far the best you will find locally, and at a very reasonable price. The love and care that is put into the food really shows. Kevin and all the staff and very friendly and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I have told all my friends and family to pay the cafe a visit as they will not be dissapointed! Only downside is... I cant stick to my diet as the cakes are so good!!!

My late brother in law loved Cafe One 22. When he passed away there was just one place to go to celebrate his life. The buffet was fabulous and all the staff were attentive yet caring and discrete. Would highly recommend this gem of a cafe.

This lovely cafe is quite a find!It is at the based at the back of Heene Community Centre.I attended a course here and came across it then.What a find-it really is a lovely cafe offering a great choice of food from soup to jacket potatoes to sandwiches and cakes to die for!The food is so tasty and beautifully presented and portions very generous.Prices are very reasonable.The cafe is really tastefully done out-pardon the pun!In the summer,there are tables outside on the patio and garden area where you can sit out and eat.The proprietor Kevin is a great host.One of my favourite cafes to come to in Worthing!

A friend invited me to meet her for lunch here, I didn't even know it existed! I chose a jacket potato with brie and bacon, which came with the most fabulous salad containing strawberries and pomegranate seeds! The attention to detail was a breath of fresh air and I struggled to eat it all! There was such a friendly, warm atmosphere at this cafe, that I have now been back many times, and feel very comfortable even if I'm on my own. Hat's off to Kevin and the staff for the most amazing service and food I have ever had at a cafe. And the cakes and pastries and just a whole another story.....

The best place to eat in Worthing. The cafe is just incredible. I couldn’t rate the service highly enough, after only a couple of visits me and my grandad are treated like family, it’s so welcoming. The cafe food is of the highest standard, even if you just have a jacket potato it’s served with lashings of topping and a salad full of seasonal produce. The cakes are to die for and you can feel virtuous with a healthy smoothie afterwards. It is obvious that the people that run the place are dedicated professionals who have created a lovely community space and filled it with delicious food.

Who would expect a cafe at Heene Community Centre to impress me so much that I needed to write a review. Well it did , and I am. This place is a hidden gem and I just had to share it with you. The Cafe is run by Kevin who has an absolute passion for food and those little extra finishing touches make all the difference. All his food is home made and his cakes are amazing. Lunch times can get busy so it’s best to go early but you won’t be disappointed. The portions are huge and the quality is superb. The menu isn’t vast, but it doesn’t need to be any bigger. As you would expect from a cafe it sells paninis, jackets, sandwiches, soup etc but they also produce the most yummy milk shakes and smoothies. None of this sugary milk syrup, it’s all made with fresh fruit. The prices are very reasonable and you definitely won’t be disappointed. Well done to Kevin and his team you’re doing a great job

Im a regular to Cafe One22 and have been coming here for the past couple of years, I can highly recommend the food Kevin and his team prepare. I often grab a bite to eat whilst passing the cafe in between jobs, it’s in a perfect location with lots of free parking and for a freshly prepared meal it’s ready in no time. Here are a few snaps from some of my many visits and the food tastes as good as it looks .

Kevin and his team supplied wonderful food and lots of it for my mother’s 90th birthday tea. Attention to detail was superb and we couldn’t have asked for better service. This special occasion was made even more special, even providing ‘special’ afternoon tea for the children.

Couldn’t fault any area of the service we received. The room was elegantly laid out with tables of 10 for our 90th Birthday afternoon tea. The sandwiches were delicious and the children were catered for with their own sandwiches. There was a wide variety of fillings and there was no skimping on the amount of filling! The sweet offerings were vast and all so fresh and beautifully presented. We were looked after by the team with refills of water and extra plates as we needed them and were super friendly and welcoming. I’d book another event here! Thank you Kevin and team.

Can’t rate high enough everything was perfect for my mums birthday. Table was laid beautifully and such attention to detail. Gorgeous fresh flowers on the table. The food was amazing! Sandwiches bursting with filling, warm scones, such beautiful cakes and attentive friendly staff. Felt like nothing was too much trouble. Best afternoon tea we have ever had!!

Kevin and his team catered with such style. The food was delicious and the attention to detail with flowers, lighting and display was exceptional. Our guests were looked after with every attention. As a family we were cared for with such kindness and love and the whole event became a joyous celebration thanks to the professionalism of this wonderful place.

My daughter attends her tap dancing class every Saturday at the Heene Community Centre where Cafe One22 is located, when it was Cafeheene it was good,now it is even better and it obviously strives to keep improving. While my daughter is dancing instead of just twiddling my thumbs I like to treat myself to a light brunch and among other things I'm partial to a toasted Bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese, if you're like me this is definitely the best of its kind in Worthing (trust me I've had a few) It arrives on a platter, the Bagel is always hot a separate bowl contains a very generous portion of good quality cream cheese and there is always a little side decoration, today it was caper berries and strawberries with black pepper (seriously) the salmon is lovely and also served in a generous portion well presented. The problem I always find with this dish is that when you bite into it the cream cheese oozes out everywhere, to overcome this they serve it as a DIY combo so you have two halves with more than enough ingredients to make it truly sumptuous, by eating it this way the problem is solved. The staff are great and the only criticism I have is that because it is so popular it is sometimes difficult to find seating, especially in the winter, in summer there is good outside seating for when the weather is good. It is obvious that they are constantly trying to improve and I couldn't recommend it any higher, it is not a restaurant it is a cafe but you'd be hard pressed to find a better one in Worthing.

First of all it is a very clean, beautifully presented cafe with a great atmosphere. The food is to die for with scrummy amazing looking cakes/desserts. Sandwiches packed with filling, soups home made and delicious. Coffee good too! All reasonably priced. Like others have said nothing is too much trouble. Kevin and his team work really really hard. Highly recommend it.

My friend and I visited today with our 3 children. The staff were so helpful and the food... amazing is an understatement. We had jacket potatoes, the portions were fabulous. The accompanying salad was glorious, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, pomegranate seeds, pine nuts... such an array of beautiful colours. Now the cakes were on another level, banana and white chocolate 4 layer extravaganza, rocky road with pink and white mice and chocolate muffins with white and dark chocolate shards. Wonderful experience and one will repeat and tell everyone about. Thank you and looking forward to coming back.

Come here at 4pm some days and relax deeply with a coffee to the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald. Come Saturday morning with what seems like hundreds of little dancers attending classes and grab a toastie. Come midday when loads of community people attending classes will be there for lunch.

We have only just moved into the area and being a little cash strapped have been trying out some of the well reviewed low cost eateries. This one simply blew us away. The quality of the food and low price tag make it difficult to beat, the ambience of a well kept vintage setting adding to the pleasure. We don't eat cake but could see that those on offer looked phenomenal. The party had sandwiches and jacket potatos and the potato choices were declared to be simply the best ever eaten. Generous portion sizes, beautifully presented and imaginitively put together. Well done all, even if we weren't 5 minutes round the corner we would make this our regular!

I cannot recommend this place enough! Kevin and his team work so hard to ensure that everything which you buy whether just a coffee or a full fabulous lunch is served and presented in a beautiful way in a place full of fresh flowers and spotlessly clean. The food which comes out is worthy of a hotel restaurant - better most of the time! If you order a jacket potato or sandwich it comes with a side salad - not just a couple of leaves and a tomato but a beautiful salad full of all sorts of wonderful things - just try it! Whenever we need to eat or get a coffee and cake (the cakes are all home made and amazing and huge) we always get in the car, get out of town and come here.

I regularly come to cafe one 22 as i feel that Kev and his team are outstanding providing fresh quality ingredients with a clean and welcoming surroundings. Kev always has humour and nothing is too much trouble. I bring my clients here and it's a real treat for them and a real hub in the community. As far as I'm concerned there is no where else that I would choose to go for coffee lunch or cake and ample free parking

My last visit here was two years ago. Say no more...old management.

Popped in the other day for a sandwich and a coffee - both were fantastic. I went with the bacon and brie sandwich and it was absolutely packed! The side salad and coleslaw were also very tasty.

The last time I wrote about this place it was called Cafe Heene, things have moved on since then, I take my daughter to the community centre for dance lessons, and usually have a bite to eat. It was good before but it has become better still since it changed its name. The service is quicker and there is no skimping on quality, it is obviously popular as you sometimes have to wait for a table, whereas before that was not usually the case, what they serve is carefully and professionally prepared, obvious care goes into what they do here, it's a bit more than just a cafe and well worth a visit.

If you haven't visited here - then do! The jacket spuds, salads, amazing cakes are superbly tasty. We have visited quite a few times now and find it every time to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience, a great place to meet friends.
