The food at pickles is amazing, i’ve never been disappointed by my usual order. However the customer service is absolutely shocking, I was disappointed to hear that they were huffing and puffing at the order made. Unfortunately I will not be buying my lunch from Pickles again, despite the fantastic food, the customer service is just awful. Going into the sandwich cafe makes me feel extremely uncomfortably due to the stern rude attitude. The atmosphere is enough to put you off the food as it is.

I bumped into the owner of this amazing place out on a dog walk and have never been anywhere else for my sarnies and salads since! Such a massive selection on the menu from all over the world - quite literally! Great for sarnies, wraps, salads, naughty and healthy treats, homemade cakes plus drinks. Very reasonably priced and orders can be phoned through for collection. Highly recommended!

I was pleasantly surprised having had lunch from Pickles earlier. Having worked on Portland Road for over a year and driving past it everyday it took my partner to suggest going there before giving it a try, purely because I'd never seen it before. Having read some reviews I went in with high expectations and boy was I impressed. First off the prices are very reasonable especially when you consider the value for money and quality of ingredients. Secondly, the range on offer is vast and shop was busy when I was there. I opted for a piece of coffee and walnut cake which again was fantastic in taste and value. I definitely won't be driving past here again without stopping.

This small little sandwich bar can pack a mighty punch in lunch time hunger. I had the Montego wrap " spicy jerk chicken in a sour cream sauce lime mango chutney" omg it was to die for, I must add I like a hot one and this was just right for the lunch time hunger monster. The staff are polite and friendly and you will be persuaded into getting one of there fantastic cakes. The price was about right for lunch and what we got. I would highly recommend it for anyone. Don't be frightened to give one of the unusual wraps ago.

The baguettes that the lasses at Pickles serve up are the stuff of legends! I can honestly say that the actual baguettes themselves are amazing, light and crusty...and then you have the fillings...wow! They have an amazing array of different fillings from around the globe and their prices are so cheap! You pay about £3+ for a baguette about 15" long and all made up in a minute. Very quick and friendly service, worth a detour if you are anywhere within 5 miles! Fully recommend them!

The wraps here are always really tasty and made with high quality ingredients. If you're not a regular customer you can expect to wait a long time at busy times before being served, and I've quite often been served after people who've arrived after I did because they seem to know the staff.

You won't get much better than this place for a spot of lunch in Portslade, its even worth traveling from Hove for! The selection on offer is vast, with wraps, baguettes and sandwiches, but it's all about the fillings. Choose from Kentucky, El Grande, The Burrito and many more sandwiches put together using ingredients famous from the country they're named on. Personally the Kentucky wrap can't be beaten but there are a few close contenders.

Just had a takeaway Pickles for the first time and it was hands down the best wrap I've ever had, for such a small price. SO impressed. Will be coming back regularly.

Friday Lunchtime is more often than not Take away day! If you're in Hove (close to Portslade Station) and want a quality sandwich look no further than Pickles Sandwich Bar. The customer service from the girls is always excellent; they're friendly and welcoming even when the queue is out of the door because their busy again! Today I went for the Reuben Sandwich (Pastrami, Cheese, Tomato, Dill Pickles & American Mustard) on Granary Bread which is always a winner. Other favourites are the Kentucky (Hot & Spicy Chicken) and The Memphis (Pulled Pork). Everything is made fresh and they load the sandwiches and baguettes up so you're never left hungry. If you're ordering on a lunchtime be prepared to wait or phone in advance. Apologies for the poor quality of the picture but thought i'd post one so you get an idea on the generous filling!

eaten from this store on a couple of occasions and recently got told that they delivered for orders of 5 or more sandwiches. today i ordered 5 sandwiches to be delivered in Fishersgate and got told that you can only place orders between 10.30 and 11am ( the time was 10.27am) staff told me then that i had to hang up and call back in 5 minutes because they needed the card machine. i rang back up trying to be as polite as possible as the staff as i know they are renowned for having a terrible attitude to customers. She then announced to me that it would be easier for both of us that it would just be easier for me to come to the store as the manager only delivers to Shoreham. i explained that Fishersgate is on route to Shoreham which they replied she only drives on the top road. she told me to ring back at 11am to speak to manager who would be back by this time. At 11am i called back and asked to speak to the manager about a delivery who screamed in the background i'm not going bloody anywhere i have someone to see at 11am. i said i will be 10 minutes as i was already late as shop said the sandwiches would be ready at 11. when i got to the store the sandwiches hadn't be made and the manager approached me and started screaming calling me a jumped up boy. i kept my calm and explained please don't speak to me like that i was only asking for a delivery( if they had told me that they would not deliver i wouldn't be in the position) why would a store offer a service and change their mind?) the manager then explained that her handbrake had gone and i asked why she would go delivering before my call if she had a issue with her car(putting her own and other road users safety at risk) her assistant then decided to start shouting and i explained that their customer services were poor. The assistant replied to me the way you speaking to us is terrible and that we are lucky we didn't (excuse my language) s**t in your sandwiches. I asked her if that was a threat which she raised her knife from the back of the shop and said i wouldn't threaten you now while i'm in the shop and then pointed outside. the manager realizing her colleagues mistake told her to not say another word. i asked the three girls who were all taking it in turns to shout at me as i was on my own and if speaking the way they were shouting and swearing was very lady like which they all started accusing me of being sexist which i certainly am not. the manager then told me never to come in the shop again and as i was walking out with my 30 pounds worth of sandwiches they muttered something which i couldn't quite hear but sounded awfully like the c word. i was utterly shocked by the way they were as they seem to boast about their family friendly shop and i think we all know with words like that i wouldn't be taking my son there anytime soon.

Soooo much choice, this is about my 100th visit even though on a detox, I had the detox smoothy which is just not the same as a Memphis baguette which could feed my whole family!!! Whatever your choice of sandwich, salad, wrap, bun or baguette the portions are immense. Highly recommend you try unless you don't want to get addicted.

Love this place. The staff are always so friendly and the owner always has a smile on her face even when they're absolutely manic (which they do get at times!). My favourite is the Kentucky wrap, or the festive feast (at Christmas and Easter), but I do have to resist unless I'm having a treat. Good selection of fillings and the breads are always so fresh. The girls work really hard and I have never been disappointed with a sandwich, or the occasional slice of cake, yet! They have a number of healthy options as well, so would suit even if you're watching what you eat.

What to say about this place? Friendly staff and an AMAZING selection of sandwiches!I work nearby and I actually have to ration myself or else I wouldn't fit through the door any more! The sandwiches are extremely substantial and all of them are delicious, the menu is themed based on the cuisines of countries from around the world, or you can make up your own combo, but to be honest it's hard enough just to pick from the menu without going "off piste".My personal favourites are the Kentucky (chunks of breaded spicy chicken in a delicious Sweet Chilli Sauce with salad) and the El Grande (Mediterranean themed sandwich with Chicken breast, Chorizo, Olives, Cheese etc). If you order a baguette then you had better be seriously hungry as they are huge. I tend to stick to wraps now for that reason! The loyalty scheme is also a nice touch, every 10th sandwich is free, and the girls in the shop keep track of your card for you, so no need to remember to bring some fiddly thing that you end up forgetting. If you're ordering a few sandwiches then you'd be well advised to order by phone in advance as it can get quite busy!Keep up the good work guys!

You know when you find somewhere new that's so amazing your now going to have to blow the diet and go every day for lunch? Well "Pickles" is that place. Only thank goodness I live a good 20 mins away or I'd literally be there all the time. This will be my new guilty pleasure as my lunch was so yummy and HUGE I couldn't even finish my wrap! Thanks guys, and so reasonable to boot! ❤️

The menu is based on different cuisines from different countries around the world. There is something for everyone. If nothing takes your fancy, you can customize your own fillings in either a wrap, baguette, roll or sandwich. Alternatively, treat yourself to a jacket potato, nacho box, chicken strips with a dip, crisps, sweets, chocolate, fruit and even toast! The list is endless. Sue and her team are fantastic. They're friendly, helpful and will remember you by name. If you're a regular, they even run a loyalty card scheme. Great value fresh food made to order. What more can you want

I love this place - the staff are a joy, the options from around the glove are plentiful (though I pretty much always have the roast baguette) and the prices are very reasonable. Best of all though, they taste lovely and they're very filling. Well worth a lunchtime visit! They also have a selection of vegetarian options.

I've bought lunch from here twice now and sadly never again. The first time I had the New York Deli white baguette with pastrami, pickles and american mustard etc. The problem was.. plenty of nice soft bread but virtually no filling. I think there was one wafer thin slice of pastrami, 3 slices of pickle and if there was any swiss cheese it was so small it was hiding, I think there was supposed to be fresh tomatoes on this as well but again there was zero evidence of this. However, there was plenty of American mustard, in fact there was oceans of this, so much that when I unwrapped my lunch all of the paper and the outside of the baguette were liberally covered in mustard where there was son much of it and it had leaked out and gone everywhere. In short, this was basically like eating a vinegar soaked baguette, I had 2 bites and threw it away.A couple of weeks later I thought i'd try again as maybe I just went there on a bad day (hey we all have them) and I opted for something simple: ham, cheese and coleslaw sandwich on white bread. Again there was little of the main filling (Sherlock Holmes and the missing ham and cheese) and I ended up with an overpriced coleslaw sandwich. Luckily I was on my way home so put some extra cheese in it on my return.I do know many people who have been to Pickles and say its the best place around, my son adores the warm pulled pork baguette, but for me i'll go to Greggs round the corner.

The Classic Breakfast was really good. The food was cooked fresh, hot, and very well presented. Fresh orange juice and lovely coffee & tea. The staff were very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The rest of the menu looks very interesting with a long list of available sandwiches and baguettes. Would very much recommend this cafe and will definitely return when visiting Brighton again. Thanks very much !!
