Lovely place and great food. Friendly staff too, you can eat inside at this place a lot of the time too.

First time we have been as a family tonight, and the service was so friendly and kind, the food was cooked fresh and absolutely delicious. I had to ring when we got home to tell them how nice it was and that we will definitely be returning customers. Highly recommend

Best kebab in south shields better quality

I am pretty impressed with this takeaway. Only just recently opened. The place is extremely clean and tidy. Ordered 2 pizza's and a chicken kebab. My pizza was a kebab pizza with stuffed crust and OMG, the stuff crust cheese was really delicious! They used a different kind of cheese on the stuff crust and it was extremely tasty. Kebab and Onions were fresh and the Pizza dough was perfectly cooked. The other pizza was a pepperoni with Ham and Mushrooms. It also tasted fresh and delicious. The Chicken from the Kebab was absolutely great! The gentleman that served us was polite, genuine and was very clear with taking the order. He tripled checked everything and that the order was correct. Would I order from here again? Absolutely!

Always a favourite of ours. Will happily change pizza toppings and accommodate my desire for a near burnt chicken kebab!! Oh and of course the food is delicious!

So where to start, ordered 2 stuffed crust 10" pizzas for £28 delivery which correct me if I'm wrong is absolutely extortionate! Ordered at half 7 and didn't receive until quarter to 10, now i understand places get busy on fridays and saturdays but 2hrs 15mins is unacceptable and it was only luke warm, if it wasn't for my partner who was so hungry after a 12hr shift I would of sent the delivery driver packing because by that point i was ready to go to bed. This was delivered 45mins after the latest 9pm it was promised, I think in future I'll stick to 2 asda stuffed crust pizza's for a fiver. This isn't the 1st time I've had issues with piccolo, standard of pizza drops when they are busy and I've been sent wrong items on multiple occasions. At least 3 times having ordered a cheesy chip wrap for a vegetarian it's turned up as a kebab wrap. Now the owner did apologise when i phoned but as a regular customer that just didn't cut it, not even a couple cans of pop or a discount on next order offered. If you can't meet the demand don't take the order, sheer greed!

For a guy who only drinks water, Piccolo sure is a good cook! I rate his food 7 Dragon Balls for sure! I could eat this all day, it'll help me fight better! It's a shame I had to travel all the way to new Namek to get there though, haha. I'll use instant transmission next time! I'll have to tell Lord Beerus too. I'm sure he'd love it!

Just had the picolo 1/2 lb house burger with melted stilton with salad ,nice burger cooked well and super tasty ,top burger 🍔

I visited Piccolo after reading the reviews and decided to give it a go. I was unsure what to order so I spoke with the man who was front of house and have gave me some suggestions. I was very grateful to him as the food was delicious. The staff really seem to care about what they are serving and they seem to care about you as a customer too. The food was hot and really tasty. I was even shown the food before I left to make sure that I was happy with it...a nice touch that I've never experienced before. Well done guys, you have a new loyal customer here now...I cant wait to try the rest of the menu.

Been here a couple of times and food is ok , but i phoned for a pizza tonight and the man on the phone was very abrupt and rude so wont be getting my money , i phoned back and cancelled my order i wouldn't dare talk to customers like that in my restaurant where i work and we are a really busy seafood restaurant in south shields!!!!!!! TERRIBLE

For the price you expect a lot better. £13.50 for a bang average 10 inch pizza

I ask for Garlic and chips so he put both chill and garlic on with it need to get the order right what I ask for

My wife and I have gone here for the first time tonight and the Pizzas are up there with the the best I've had. We will 100% be visiting here again, nice one!! 👍

Fantastic Pizza. I have been here many times and the quality is always exceptional. Never disappoints.

Really nice owner. He really takes pride in his business and the food he serves. Asked if I could have the garlic sauce seperate. He replied saying every thing comes packaged separately. For someone who tracks their macros and likes to eat well this was perfect. Able to track my meal and feel confident with the quality of food I was eating. And best of all I didn't have to cook it. The owner even dropped it out to the car when ready. Service and food 10/10. I will be back. The owner recommended the kebab and the pizza as both made fresh on premises every day. I had the chicken kebab and it was yummy.

Can’t fault the food, the only issue is the gentleman on the phone who is rather arrogant. Remember your customers keep you open. Learn to be a bit more respectful when speaking to people

If only I can give less than 0.this was my 1st and last time I make an order from them. When I ordered I said chicken donner wrap, I received lamb donner wrap. When I phone them the very chatty man that doesn’t let anyone to speak said its common sense donner wrap to be from lamb. Well no. Donner wrap can be made from any meat. he said they don’t have chicken donner wrap. Mr chatty man when i said chicken you supposed to let me know whether you do or you don’t have. Mr chatty man are you aware that people suffer from allergies, crohns ,collitis and other conditions that prevent people to eat your "common" food. One of those people is member of my family. yea, you said you record the call and you will pass to police. Consider yourself lucky that on this occasion my family member didn’t end up in hospital and only had minor flare up. Mr chatty man review your policy and make an updates accordingly with trading standards and with the law before its not too late. At the end i cannot complain for drivers.

Best takeaway I've ever ordered from! Friendly staff, 5* hygiene rating and the quality, taste and freshness of the food is award winning. Wont be using any other takeaways from now on.

Went in and ordered cheesy chips and bolognese thinking it would be something quick for tea, waited for 25 minutes for microwaved hard chips, very small portion for £6.70. The owner / managers attitude was just as bad as the food. Never again. There’s many better takeaways in shields, Gills would have been my first choice but was closed due to Corona.

Just ordered a pizza from here best pizza I've tasted attention to detail and taste I'll be back next week keep up good work 10/10

One of THE best pizza places in South Shields. Consistently high quality food, served by friendly helpful staff. Priced on a par with your average pizzeria, they sometimes do good value specials too. Definitely worth a visit

Food always nice but delivery takes over a hour

Fantastic service with friendly staff , quick delivery. By far the best Chicken kebabs I've ever eaten!! Finally a takeaway that values its customers and strives to keep them coming back 10/10 :)

Just had mixed chicken salad and garlic bread with garlic dip..It was by far the best I've had ..full of flavour 11.90 defo recommend 😍And Lovely customer service

The food was lovely as usual I had a Piccolo de Garden Pizza very tasty. My daughter had chicken & doner kebab which was cooked to perfection totally recommend you give it a try ☺

Amazing service!!! I placed a order in just eat and added a note that I had a nut allergy. Within five minutes I had a phone call asking about the allergy and just confirming that there were no nuts in what I ordered. He made extra sure that I was ok with this and if I had any problems to ring them. The food was delicious as well. Very impressed 😊

Kebabs here were non greasy and delicious, opted for chicken and dinner mix. We only ordered one but it fed two of us.

Phoned up to make a order only to get told if I want the belly buster I have to have it with the donner all over the garlic bread! All I asked was to have the meat put separately as we have vegetarian in the house. He was very rude, he was talking 100 miles per hour and started raising his voice! We always order from him and his food is really good.... It's a shame he's not learnt how to speak with respect. Don t think it would have been hard to put the meat in a container...

Food is okay - bit expensive for pizzas - but when I paid by debit card the guy on the front counter said he “had to charge a 50p administration charge because he has to pay the card people”. This was made illegal in the UK from January 2018. So beware this rip off.

Lovely fresh pizzas and excellent customer service.

Again the price is shocking and don't get my started on the minuture tubs of sauce , get your self to gillls down the road for a gallon of garlic or chilli with your meal at no extra cost. Food is tasty ......but probs not as tasty as the owners bank account , whom always bangs on about overheads ...... he works out a 6ft square unit at the nook and does everything himself ,the guy is a secret millionaire with these prices

Food is nice and very well presented although pizzas do limit the toppings. Personly I think the price is quite high in comparison to all other take always and the owner moans if you want to change something slightly on the menu or add extra cheese etc. The staff can be quite rude on the phone also and the time is terrible for an order, especially for a collection. We got told 30minutes but ended up sitting in the shop for a further 20minutes! No discount offered or even an apology, this shop need to rethink the way they treat customers as their attitude is pretty appalling

Me and me mate super kev, rang the shop to place an order, the food came and it was freezing cold and yana after a few beers u clam for a kebab and a sloppy pizza, well me mate superrrr kev rang the shop to complain and was told it was not cold when it left the shop, and it wasnt his fault,(this is the manager a 2ft angry italian guy) he then told me to get off the phone as i was blocking other orders coming through, so all in all hes happy to take your money but doesnt want to provide a good service, such a shame, back to Gills me and super kev shall go south shields,

The owner is an absolute bell end he only will let you have the meal deal of the menu if he's in a good mood and speaks to you like crap, does and says what he wants to him the customer is never right.

I used to order from this shop, however the last few times I have ordered I have asked for the special deal they do on the pizzas, which they have advertised on the menu,but management refuse to give u this offer unless they aren't busy, this is false advertising,will not be returning

The food is actually ok but that little italian guy needs to give his head a wobble. Ordered a little while back and asked for 1 of the specials to which he replied we dont do them any more even though they were on a menu that had been picked up the prev day. He said its changed so thought ok yet when the order came with a new menu still advertised. Phoned up on Friday asking for the two 12inchers for £13.50. He said although it's advertised he can do what he wants because it's a Friday and they were busy. Said he would do a special for £23. No customer service skills whatsoever and no more custom from me. I know of others who ordered from just eat and apparently it was £5 cheaper so he phones them up begging them to cancel their order. Says and does what he wants the little fkturd

We ordered 2 x 10" pizzas to feed a rare thing, a fussy eating, University student son home for the Summer. The delivery was made online and arrived in a reasonable time and still hot. Mine and my sons pepperoni, peppers and onion pizza was lovely whilst my partners Pancetta with Mozzarella, bacon and chilli oil was different to his hot pizzas but was very tasty. The fussy one managed to eat some of both pizzas and admitted that he'd liked them both. My partners pizza didnt look inspiring but again the tastes and soft dough made up for this.

Have been using piccolos for many years ... sadly no more . Been going down hill over the last year . Delivery taking longer and then lie about it . Food portions getting smaller , chicken dry and hard , salad half full and that's if they actually manage to get your order right . Never again , been stung to many times now .

Delivery was fast but short changed me , when I called to inform the shop I got told that it wasn't their problem and he didn't really care and to take it up with driver . Also the burger I ordered was like eating burnt rubber , thought I would try a chicken kebab on my next order they sent me a donner kebab wich I got straight on the phone so I could get my order changed to be met by hostility on the phone refusing to admit it was his misunderstanding and refusing to send me a new kebab out . Will never ever order from here again used to be nice but has went very down hill , wounder if this has anything to do with such a terrible attitude ?

After being away all weekend, tired and hungry we decided to use a food app and for a change order online for a takeaway, the estimated arrival time was over an hour but the food was delivered within 45 minutes. Hot, tasty and exactly what we ordered. The base which can sometimes be too crispy or too doughy was excellent. A lovely change to our normal.

We've used Piccolo on occasion for a few years. As pizza takeaway goes, the food has always been of good quality. The owner is friendly, courteous and professional. The service is a cut above the norm for a takeaway, and that has appealed. He always makes a fuss of the kids too - which is always a nice touch. We perhaps order from here once every other month and in my opinion the food standards are sadly slipping. Pizza's seem over greasy, kebab has been dry and the last salad tray consisted of white cabbage, red cabbage and a handful of pickled onions. No lettuce, tomato, cucumber or lemon slice. Time for this menu to go in the recycle bin I think.

Every time i order never get the right stuff

I thought the kebabs were very dry and were lacking in garlic source. I wouldn't order them again as they were a waste of my money

Ordered a delivery take away from Just eat. The order arrived 45 minutes earlier than requested and part of it was wrong. The food was ok, nothing special. Wont be ordering again.

Ordered pizza and chips. It came in good time and was tasty. Way cheaper than Dominoes or Pizza Hut, not quite as good but the price differential more than makes up for it.

ordered 2 pizzas and portion of mozzarella dippers food was ready after about 20minutes piping hot . doe is freshly made in store which you can taste difference pizzas were well loaded with topping and Delicious as always

I had a fabulous chicken kebab with an excellent fresh salad and fresh chilli and garlic sauces unlike any previous menus of similar ingredients. I'm not in the habit of reviewing takeaway food, but this was so good I've decided to recommend it.

I order from piccolos regularly through the just eat app as I find this the easiest way to order. On arriving to pick up my food the manager is often very rude and angry at the fact I have used just eat and insists I will get a cheaper prices if I ring to order even though there the same. The pizzas however are the best in town and if it were not for the fact the food is so good I would not bother going back

My partner thinks this place do the best mixed kebabs ever! Its not my favourite take away but not the worst. Chilli sauce is very peppery but garlic is lovely. Chips are lovely though.

I LOVE this place - could eat here every night if I wasn't bothered about getting fat! - only thing this sometime the chips are a bit of a miss!

Having reviewed here before am afraid this review isn't as generous . We order from here most weekends but when the owner/manager isn't there the service isn't great . Ordered food and after waiting an hour half the order arrived .Had to wait another half hour for the wrong order to arrive then waited another half hour for the original order which by now was cold as it had been sitting in the shop waiting to be delivered . The delivery staff were very apologetic and embarrassed . Wasn't happy with the guy in the shops attitude and they have lost my custom now !

This is not the first time I have been very disappointed by this takeaway and the time delays and now no food tonight , ordered food at 7pm turned up at 745 to pick it up and this time they had lost the order when phoning the manager about this he told me I lied and that we never placed the order!!! He was disgusting this used to be a great place to get food and it's gone down hill big time , greedy manager trying to make max money with minimum staff = poor service don't go there

My other half had been looking for somewhere in South Shields that did kofta and finally decided to give this place a try. He had the mixed kebab and thoroughly enjoyed it I myself had a small taste and would recommend if you like to give places a try when you have a usual take out place.

This is a takeaway we often use now, so I thought it was about time to give it a review.As we have tried several other Italian takeaways in the past trying this one was one of our better decisions. I cannot fault the freshness, flavour and value of their pizza's and kebabs. Once you try here you won't go anywhere else.

We have tried several places for chicken kebabs but this is by far the best . A full tray of chicken with cooked onions and peppers, two pitta breads and a sauce of choice and a full carton of salad . A very tasty chicken kebab .
