Great Italian restaurant , amazing and friendly people, excellent food. Starters were very delicious. Homemade and fresh made pasta was cooked perfectly with lots of flavour. Enjoyed a lot. Unfortunately, had bo space left for the desert. I bet they taste good. On Sunday restaurant offers Sunday Roast deals. Highly recommended to vist.

Lovely steak...great service. Negronis fantastic. Focaccia could have much more salt and rosemary to it.

Positives:- staff were accommodating and we managed to get a table without booking. Negatives:- food was ridiculously salty and was expensive, being tapas style. We left most of the food. We ordered Focaccia, which was almost inedible it was so salty. The lasagne (£10) was a small portion and was one solid lump which I couldn't cut through. The cubed potatoes (£5.50) were unbelievably salty and we sent back the beef ragu because it had cheese on (we hadn't seen the note on the menu that said ask if you don't want parmesan, however if we'd been given the option of adding it after it was served, we wouldn't have had the issue). Really disappointing as we've been looking forward to trying here. I don't think we'll chance another visit

We were out walking on Penny Lane from end to end (tourists from America) and came upon Piccola on Smithdown near the northeast end of Penny Lane. I asked a bystander what he thought, and he said we should go right in, so we did. It's always risky, when traveling, popping into a restaurant based upon geography rather than recommendations or online reviews, but you can trust this restaurant. It's also a risk ordering seafood in any restaurant, but everyone enjoyed their food a lot, including my spaghetti with crab. They do not do bland food, everything flavorful, even the grilled bread. Nice people, to say the least, and they're new, so if you're a local, check it out, and if you like Penny Lane by the Beatles and are around seeing the sights, a great stop for lunch, and I bet dinner too.

Arrived Sunday for a belated birthday feast. We walked in at the back end of a very busy service so some dishes were sold out. Not to worry...I'm coming back very soon. I knew it would be very good but every dish exceeded my expectations. Loved every minute of our night out. My favs on the night were the t-bone and nduja pasta. I'm coming back for the ravioli as soon as I can 😋 The service was magical and the staff are a credit to the owners of this little gem.

Great new Italian well worth a visit. Lovely menu with a good selection. Service perfect. Started with Negroni aperitif, lethal! Then had Grilled Seafood platter to share, followed by Salt Cod and King Prawn Ravioli, shared a delicious tiramisu. All food homemade and authentic. Interior all new, comfortable chairs, great music. Wine selection good, nice bottle of Italian Sauvignon Blanc.
