Piazza Express in South Gloucestershire

The service during our visit was good but the food was underwhelming. The Padana pizza base was incredibly thin and undercooked to the point of being chewy. The margarita pizza my partner ordered was tasteless and the base, dry. Considering the price of these pizzas you'd expect significantly better quality. I suggest Pizza Express review the quality of their produce. I'd recommend avoiding and visit Bella Italia instead.

Went into the restaurant and was greeted by a young girl who goes have you booked and when I said no she refused us entry and when I asked if I could book she said online. The restaurant was very quiet as it was 5 o’clock the girls tone of voice was rude and she didn’t even apologise, shocking customer service. Do not recommend.

They’ll injure your child and then give you a sarcastic response when you point it out. No warning that the starter plates were hot and a child burned their hand. No offer of first aid or anything. Technically the manager said sorry but it definitely wasn’t meant. Mains were only warm and they started clearing the table before 3 people had finished eating.

The food was bland and the service provided by our waiter Gabriel was poor and he wasn’t bothered about the fact that we weren’t happy with the food and the overall experience we had at Pizza Express Cribbs

We went to Pizza Express before a film for a nice relaxing meal. However this was the opposite of our experience. After being seated, we asked for water which was dumped on the table as if we had offended the waiter. When more people joined our party they were not greeted and asked if they wanted a drink. We had to wait 30 minutes before we placed our order and then tables who arrived after us all received their food. After another 30 minutes we had to find a waiter who wasn’t avoiding eye contact to ask what had happened to our order, as it was getting close to our film showing time so we were becoming rushed. We were told it would be 5 minutes as they were busy - we could see the other empty tables and people being served before us so it was obvious this was not entirely true and most likely we had been forgotten. After rushing to eat and risking indigestion we then had to ask for the bill and rush to pay. We were not offered any kind of compensation for the delay or poor service. While the food was nice, it was a very disappointing experience overall and we won’t be eating at this reataurant again.

We visited with our grandchildren on a rainy Saturday lunchtime and most of Bristol was there too. We had a very pleasant meal-a spicy calabrese pizza, spaghetti bolognaise and lasagna. Nice puds for the children. Our waiter was terrific despite being under real pressure. Does what it says on the tin.

This an example of where a small number of things are delicious and outstanding, whereas the rest are not. In this case, I love the dough balls and the padana (the padana is my ultimate favourite veggie pizza!) nothing else that I have tried really stands out for me though and the prices are fairly high for pizza (you get double the number of pizzas for the same place if you opt for a takeaway place, like dominoes, instead). I do like the ambient atmosphere though and if I base this restaurant purely on what I tend to order, then I love it!!

Really nice evening at Pizza Express. Good good, really good service, but I can’t get over the fact I spent £7.50 on a pint of beer. That is nothing short of outrageous. The same bottle of Peroni in Tesco is £2.65.

We booked a table as we hadn’t been here for a while & we know it can get busy. We waited for a few minutes to be acknowledged then waited to be seated. Our waitress was very nice, we both had slight difficultly understanding each other but she smiled a lot. Our food was fine, every dish we ordered was cooked well & tasted great. Nothing to complain about with the mains or the service. The only let down was their standard of dessert. The one dish that you remember as it is the last one. We ordered it as it was displayed on their menu with a picture. Sadly the reality doesn’t look like the picture. The Framenti picture advertised large pieces of marshmallows & chocolate brownie. Sadly, not the case. We were given the tiny marshmallows you get in their hot chocolate & the brownie piece was also tiny. Massive let down to the point we wouldn’t order it again. You can see the difference in the pictures I took.

I came here with my partner for valentines night, we ordered our two mains and chips as a side. 1. They brought food over to us, partner started to eat what he thought was lasagne and then the waitress came over and took the food of him and said that's not yours? The service is generally fairly basic in this particular branch and this visit was no different in that they got my partners order wrong...The food however is very nice and if you have the o2 App you can have a main for £5 making it very affordable too. This is a good chain restaurant but this is not a great branch.

Service can sometimes be a bit slow, but the food is always good. Especially like the Garlic Bread as a starter. The pizzas with the hole in the middle (filled with salad) are my wife's favourite, but personally I prefer the more traditional options.

We used our Tesco club card vouchers here as they have really good offers on. Service was really friendly and efficient despite it being a busy Saturday night. Didn’t have to wait too long for food and it was delicious. My only grumble is that the size of the classic pizza has shrunk considerably, had we paid full price for the meal I wouldn’t have been very pleased. Overall a great restaurant.

I really don't like giving negative reviews and always look for the positives in any visit. However, when we visited Pizza Express on Saturday there was a real issue and it was not satisfactorily addressed. The men's toilets were blocked, the two urinals covered over and the cubicles are soaked with misaimed urine, all over the seat and the floor. There was a lot of leakage and the floor was very wet. Everyone who uses the male toilets is traipsing dirty water and urine past the kitchen and through the restaurant. I dread to think what happens when male members of staff need to use the toilet - especially kitchen staff. We raised this with the manager, who wasn't particularly reassuring. She told us the disabled toilet is broken too - except it is the sink with the plumbing issue, not the toilet. It is an issue that predated our visit and essentially they are waiting for some higher authority to sign off on the cost required to fix it. I appreciate at times it is necessary to make the best of a bad situation, but the restaurant wasn't busy and those toilets had not seen any attention for hours. The manager said she'd send a male member of staff to deal with it, and before we left all male members of waiting staff were serving food in the same uniform they had been at the start of our visit - I don't like to think that my food would be served by someone who has just been getting up close and personal with a toilet in those very same clothes. It was bad. And we got the impression the management weren't that bothered. The stock response was issued and lots of nods and agreement noises as instilled by interpersonal skills training, but it didn't come across that they really cared at all. In fact, the opposite was true. To the food and service - our waitress was lovely and very friendly. My mozzarella garlic bread was pretty flavourless - I think they forgot to put the garlic on. Otherwise the food was ok. I've been to different branches of Pizza Express many times, and usually it is very reliable. I've reviewed previous visits on here and given four or five stars. I was so disappointed with this experience. It just isn't a good branch - the air con was set too cold (there were people with coats on), the shape of the building is such that a lot of the noise from other tables is amplified.I don't think I've ever given a one star review before, but in this case it's truly justified. I wouldn't go back and I'd actively persuade others to avoid it. As I've said above, the issues described relate to this branch only. Taking into account realistic expectations for a busy and relatively budget high street restaurant option, I've never had a problem with Pizza Express before. Such a shame. It completely ruined our evening.

We visited on a busy Saturday evening and received immediate attention. Upon ordering I expressed disappointment that there were no calzones on the menu. The waiter responded immediately with an offer to ask the chef if he had the ingredients to make one. He disappeared and came back saying that would be fine and would I like extra ingredients in it; all at the same price. The calzone was delicious, the service quick and enthusiastic and was altogether an enjoyable experience. I did not expect such service from a chain restaurant and I heartily congratulate them.

I explained this as I ordered our food and they scanned the voucher off my phone at that point.The food and drink arrived promptly. Visited for lunch and ordered soho 59, lovely base and great toppings but when it came to clearing the plates my mum was in the middle of a mouthful when the waitress placed my cutlery on her plate whilst she was still eating!After this she was very embarrassed about what had just happened and threw the dessert menus on the table. Spur of the moment dinner, able to walk in at 7 on a Friday. Our 'server' was great, alert to ordering, timings and despite being rushed off his feet had time for customary small talk. Pizzas were good, pretty quick and large, though I noticed I had one olive per slice of pizza which is probably just efficient, but felt a little stingy/calculated. Son had an ice cream which was good but overpriced. Maybe it's me, but scooped ice cream out of tub never feels like a £4 well spent in the dessert department That aside, you can't really fault it for the 'upgraded fast food' niche it pitches for. Yes we were initially seated by the loos in a half full restaurant, but before we sat they moved us without fuss or gripe and no, the pizzas aren't hipster grade artisanal, but it feels closer to Italian pizza than the other Cribbs offerings... So all in all, happy to spend £35 for 2 pizzas, dough balls, one ice cream and drinks. Bonus marks for the regionally tailored Banksy pastiche.

Comimos allí la última noche. Era sorprendentemente tranquilo. Grande, abierta pero bastante impersonal. Tenía la ensalada Cesar con pollo, que estaba bien a bastante pobre. No había suficiente vestir, algunas de las hojas eran de color marrón, el pollo estaba seco - bastones de masa estaban bien. El servicio era bueno y las bebidas eran buenas y bien presentado.

Nos preguntaron si queríamos pedir bebidas, lo cual hicimos, y cuando llegaban camarero dijo que sería volver a tomar el pedido. 10 minutos más tarde. Le dijeron que tenía un código de oferta y procedió a la orden. No tengo ninguna queja sobre la comida. Fue traído rápidamente y era caliente y sabrosa, pero la presentación era pobre. Sólo un empujón en la placa, sin guarnición o cualquier intento para hacerlo apetecible. Especialmente el 'coco' una delicia miserable par de bolas de helado un empujón en un vaso de vidrio. Incluso cuando se hizo un comentario en una de las fiesta, el camarero solo se rió. Pedimos la factura y el código de oferta de vino, pero no me preguntó ni la cantidad correcta. En general, disfrutamos de la comida, pero si el personal simplemente estaría más atento y los chefs creo que un poco acerca de la manera en que se presente la comida me sería mucho más probable que regrese. Como es probablemente otro par de años antes de ir de nuevo, especialmente porque hay varios restaurantes en las inmediaciones.

La comida era agradable todo el mundo estaba encantado con lo que pedimos, pero el servicio era muy lento. Sé que es la Pascua, pero no deberían acomodar y esperar más visitantes. Esperamos 25 minutos para que el los budines, tuve que pedir 3 veces a pagar la factura. Entonces ella trajo el recibo, pero tuvimos que esperar otros 10 minutos para la máquina de tarjeta.

Excellent service, was a bit sad we couldn't use the students discount. Service was prompt and extremely polite. Lovely environment. Will definitely stop there again.

Me encontré con amigos para uno de sus comidas de cumpleaños. Muy limpio y una mesa preparada de inmediato. Pedir bebidas y estaba bien. Opciones de comida eran buenas para comer pizza y pasta. Aunque quería ensalada y opciones limitadas pero decidido una Ensalada niçoise (extracción de vestidor y palitos de masa como no es bueno para un contenido en calorías ensalada). Uno de mesa ordenados sin gluten pizzas gratis sin ningún problema.La comida llegó parecía buena y estaba delicioso, pero me di cuenta de que no había huevos en mi ensalada pero estaba muy ocupado y no personal cuando me pilla lo He dejado. Hola atodos demás disfrutaron de su comida.Cuenta vino y afortunadamente tenia un 25% de descuento vale ya que la comida es un poco caro para lo que es especialmente como mi ensalada era piezas faltantes.Los baños son limpios.El aparcamiento era fácil y abundante.El personal se portó bien, no vi que muchas personas y no comprometerse con nosotros.No volvería corriendo, pero no evitar.Consejo: busque Códigos de cupón

Food and service was good, but far too expensive for what you get. Drinks prices are way over the top compared to elsewhere. Especially soda water which is free everywhere else!! Would not return unless had vouchers.

Friendly and attentive service, good selection of food options and excellent pizza. What's not to love!
