A hidden gem! Delicious Nepalese/Chinese fusion food. We loved it!

The food was devine. And if you go, you must try the coconut rice pudding.

Had fixed menu pre theatre dinner. Food was nice overall, but some portions were more generous than others. 12% service charge was a surprise

Absolutely stunning food - freshly prepared, gorgeous intricate flavours, old favourites done well and fabulous new dishes. The team went above and beyond to welcome our large group and we had the loveliest Lunar New Year celebration here. Would absolutely love to return to try other dishes on the menu. As a large group we ordered from the Pre-Theatre menu, and added sharing plates. Everything was beautiful - from the set menu, our group ordered the vegetarian dishes, belly pork, chicken soup, and prawn. Very well presented and tasty. The stand out dish was the rice pudding! Surprisingly filling and great value for money.

I've now visited this restaurant on 2 occasions. The first time we ate from the pre theatre menu, the food was delicious and superbly cooked. The second we ate from the a la carte menu. We had the mixed starter followed by a lamb dish and Singapore noodle dish. Both were delicate and full of flavour, dishes at a level you'd expect from a high end place. I was surprised the place wasn't full but that maybe because it's a little hidden away down a side street. I highly recommend this place and we'll worth discovering, almost literally, hidden gem.

Three course pre-theatre supper for two and drinks for under £70 and the food was excellent: well presented and an interesting mix of flavours. And a shout out for the Nepali rice pudding, which had a caramel glaze top and interesting additions to the usual rice pud.

Exceptional! This restaurant offers an incredible culinary journey that defies the typical Asian dining experience. The owners showcase remarkable creativity, reflected in both the stunning presentation and exquisite taste of their dishes. The staff, consistently friendly and courteous, further enhance the overall dining experience.

Fast service. Nice looking but needs painting. Looked dirty in the fireplace room. Menu is confusing, set menu is very small portions. You'll have to add rice to some mains. Service charge high. Food made me vomit a few hours after. Not sure what it was maybe the sea food or chicken but I didn't eat prior. Over priced for the sizes.

Such a shame that one dish ruined the evening. Our first course of crispy duck was very nice, but the second dish which was supposed to be a hot fish meal was served after the fish swam away. What fish? Where? We complained and they apologised, but still charged for it! We complained about again and they gave us a. Complimentary ice cream instead . Will we go again ? No !

Tucked down a little side street close to Chichester theatre, this is a gem. Fantastic food! The best I have eaten out for ages and the best Chinese/Nepalese food ever. Freshly cooked and full of flavour. We were pre theatre diners and it was very quiet so hard to rate on atmosphere. A pre- theatre menu is available. Cannot recommend highly enough. Do (Make sure to try one of their crepes - yes crepes! - divine !!!) We will be back for sure - do give it a try and you should not be disappointed.

Service was a little slow but food was wonderful, it was very uncrowned, food excellent.

Picked this venue as I've passed it numerous times and was curious. My girlfriend and I were not disappointed and absolutely loved the food. We both struggled to make a decision regarding our meal choices as it all sounded great. Will 100% be back and will definitely recommend to friends. Thank you all at Phoenix Dining for allowing us to finish 2023 on a high.

This is the second time I have eaten here on a set menu, this one was set theatre menu, it was superb from all four diners remarks, although mid week quiet it was a fantastic meal. It's my new favourite restaurant in the area. It makes a change from Chinese, Thai, curry or pub grub, three courses for £22.

Absolutely brilliant meal. We had three starters and shared a main. Each dish was presented beautifully and woowed the taste buds. Very fresh and light, we didn't leave feeling we'd had a typical takeaway style over indulgence. Very attentive service also

The food here really is exquisite and quite unlike any normal orientally based restaurant. It was our first visit and we decided to test the water with the set theatre menu, every course was a delight, chicken dumplings, king prawns in a light and crispy batter to start with, followed by honey glazed pork belly that was oh so succulent but crispy at the same time and a confit chicken leg… Oh and for desert we both made the perfect choice with the rice pudding with a coconutty twist and a topping much like a crème brûlée…. We can’t wait to go back to start our journey through the rest of the menu!

We've been wanting to go there for ages. Tucked down a side street - great food, good value and excellent service. Can't wait to got back to have the Peking or the Aromatic Duck - sound great. PS - the chocolate brownies were going like hot cakes - get in there fast!!!

This was a first for us. We arrived early to have a good look at the menu. We all, three couples, chose the pre theater menu which was slim on choices but quite delicious and generous size dishes. The dumplings were very tasty, two fillings. The king prawn super tasty. Could have done with some dipping sauce for both of these starters. The main courses were definitely fusion style, three chose chicken and three slow cooked pork belly. Both came with asian spiced sauces. The chocolate dessert was v.good but the rice pudding was to die for - yummm. The service was friendly, timely and we had a very relaxed dinner without worrying about being rushed for the performance The prices were not exorbitant for the menu and the wine, everything was just as it should be. Now that's unusual these days!

This tucked-away Restaurant, easily found it's two streets up on the left hand side from North Street, just keeps their standards so high, each time we eat there it is very impressive, food of quality and taste. My Partner is a Veggioe and has said that the Kitchen does really know how to make impressive dishes for her. Mei and her front of house staff work really hard to make sure we enjoy ourselves. We have only experienced positive and pleasant meals each time we visit. Well done.

Lovely helpful staff but the menu, for a Chinese, was strange and very limited and expensive. We ate in the conservatory. The decorative fabric suspended from the roof, presumably to provide shade during the day, was full of dead insects. It was revolting. The while area needed a proper clean. I finally chose something I thought I could eat on the understanding that there would be no chilli in it. Hmm! Lack of comunication I fear. It was 'hot'. Fortunately my husband & I swapped food so I did get something to eat.

My favourite restaurant in Chichester. It really is a hidden gem, right next to Priory Park and The Harbour Hotel. Delicious Asian food (Chinese and Nepalese) run by a charming husband and wife team. A lot of love goes into the food, always jazz music playing to create a warm ambience and they offer a good pre-theatre set menu, the perfect place to come before a performance at Chichester Festival Thestre, which is a walk away. Highly recommended.

Went here for a birthday lunch out. Food was delicious, great service and reasonable price. We're retuning for lunch again. Highly recommend

Pleasantly impressed by the size of the restaurant as we went in - we thought it was a lot smaller - but all went downhill from there. The menu listed an interesting-sounding spritzer, with the option of adding alcohol, so we both ordered the spritzer to include some Chardonnay - the waitress appeared to have no idea what we were asking for, even though we showed her where it was on the menu and, sure enough, they came as 4 separate drinks!! The starters were ok, but the Hotpot main course was a joke. A small amount of broth in a fancy shallow pot filled to the brim, literally boiling over a flame, with ingredients to cook in it - a very interesting idea, but no bowl or spoon/ladle to get the broth out, and the timing suggestions arrived after most of the food had been put in the pot. When I asked for a spoon and a bowl to eat from, a suitable bowl arrived with a dessert spoon - useless and dangerous for serving the boiling broth. Having peeled 4 shell-on prawns, there was no finger bowl or wipe so I used my serviette, which I put on the table because it was then obviously dirty, but it was not cleared away until the end of the meal, although my drink was whisked away before the glass was empty. On going to the toilet to wash my hands I was surprised to see the rubbish bin over half full of used paper towels, even though it was only about 7.00 pm and there was a general look of grubbiness. We were amazed to be charged 12% service for such incompetent service, having booked after looking at the menus online, where none of the menus bear any reference to a service charge. No doubt we’ll get a similarly rude response to this review as some previous reviewers have received, but we can understand now why it was pretty well empty on a Friday night and we were able to get in with less than an hour’s notice. So disappointing as we were hoping we were about to discover exciting as the menu looked original for once.

Orderd beef noodles. But it was covered in a spicy covering. Was not what I expected. And spoiled my dinner . My wife's dinner was OK and nice wine

Just home from a wonderful anniversary meal. Staff so friendly and young waitresses so lovely. Food exceptional. Best dumplings/monos and I've e ever had. The hot pots are so unique , beautifully presented and delicious. Thank you, we'll be back A hidden gem!

A hidden gem in Chichester, about five minutes from the theatre. We ate from the two course fixed menu and it was delicious. A viable alternative to the theatre. Lovely family run business, very friendly and courteous.

Went for lunch and chose the set menu, extremely well priced (£14 for two courses/ £16 for three) and delicious. Had the tempura vegetables to start followed by the Seafood Udon noodles and homemade rice pudding. Very cosy setting and the staff were attentive without being pushy. Would highly recommend and will visit again

As an Asian I’m quite picky with asian food, so glad that I found this place. Lovely and tasty food, you can tell the prawns 🍤 and 🦑 squids are fresh, crunchy and sweet. Definitely coming back. Can’t wait to try their hot-pot.

Coziest chinese restaurant ever! And probably the best I’ve had in the UK. Staff are so lovely and the food was great. Really nice atmosphere, kept us warm and we really loved it :)

I’ve lived in Chichester for two years now and I’ve never found a better restaurant here. Hands-down the best meal I’ve ever had for £20 (I’d absolutely be willing to pay more, but the value is brilliant.) As far as I can tell, every single thing on the menu is good. The atmosphere is so relaxed, and the last few times I’ve been the staff have managed to get our food to us just a few minutes after we ordered. I have absolutely no criticisms for this place - I can’t recommend it highly enough.

My wife and I came across this restaurant by chance after a matinee performance at the Theatre. We were reassured by the Trip Advisor sign in the window and the menu looked interesting. It did not disappoint. This is a little gem in Chichester which serves wonderful food which is obviously prepared with great skill, passion and pride. We knew nothing about the food of Nepal but our experience was so good we will be returning to learn some more. There are clearly Chinese and Indian influences but the flavors are subtlety different and I think more refined, but it could just be the high standard of cooking. I strongly recommend you try it out!

Delightful and Delicious! This was the most delightful dining experience I have had for a long time. Food was authentic and absolutely delicious. We had dim sum to start, nutty chicken and rice pudding. Dim sum were full of flavour, chicken was yummy and able to pick out spices within the flavours. The rice pudding was gorgeous. I started with a lychee mojito which was wonderfully fresh, sweet without being sugary and refreshing. Service was personable, friendly, professional and not obtrusive. I’m coming back very soon for a pile of those dim sum, as well as introducing some friends to it!

Lovely night with my wife, excellent food and service. The owner/chef took a few minutes to chat with us, all very enjoyable, our second visit. A must try.

Had a fabulous lunch at Phoenix Dining today. It's owned and run by a young husband and wife team, who bring a wonderful blend of Nepali and Chinese food cultures together to create interesting and flavour-packed dishes. A short, but well-judged menu is on offer, and this place must be the best value in Chichester. Dishes are beautifully presented, and we learned today that they opened in 2021. How brave, considering the economic climate of the time. I think they could produce a range of house sauces and seasoning blends to take away. The flavours are so interesting. They really deserve to do well. I won't hesitate to return when back in Chi. Wishing them every success for the future.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is fabulous, authentic, and delicious! Do you yourself a favour and go here. This would be a perfect date night spot or for a larger party.

We booked dinner for my brother's birthday which I had told them in advance. I only asked for them to write happy birthday on his pudding but when we arrived, they had a banner and a card for him. Honestly, it was so touching. Such impeccable service. It was our first time there too. Sofia who served us was so sweet! They made my brothers birthday really special, thank you so so much. The food was incredible. My mum talked about it hours later saying how delicious it was - and she is hard to please! Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully. Respect to the chefs and all the staff there. Such a gem of a restaurant. Definitely worth visiting and will come back again. Thank you so much.

Absolutely the best resturant in Chichester! Superb wine and cocktail selection with a wide range for every price. The dim sum was steamed and flavoursome and the chicken wings were juicy and delicious with the garlic mayo. The main was gorgeous to look at and tasted superb.

Cold room in the conservatory. Very slow service. Food luke warm. Very poor Service as we were the only ones dinning. Would not recommend . Will not return.

Excellent food and very attentive staff. The food is a fusion of Asian mixed with a western feel. We had the spinach stuffed chicken which was out of this world. The seafood and tomato soup was also a taste sensation. This independent restaurant in Chi deserves a visit from everyone.

Alas the food was pretty dull and served cool if not actually cold. We'd hoped for something a bit special and different but with the exception of some small spring rolls (ironically the only mouth burningly hot part of the meal) everything else was bland. Taste bombs are needed.

The food here is consistently excellent and is now our go to place in Chichester. The dim sum special on weekdays is particularly good value. There's a good selection of dishes which are very reasonably priced. The flavours are fantastic and the menu is more interesting than most restaurants. The owners are a lovely couple and always provide a warm welcome. Very highly recommended.

Lovely place off of main street, Amazing food. Is been so hard to find a nice place to eat in chichester with good quality food and services but on the Phoenix Dining the lady who served us was VERY friendly and the food had a good portion, and TASTE AMAZING 👏 😋

My daughter recommended this little gem. Set in a lovely cosy atmosphere, greeted with a lovely warm welcoming. Food was delicious and piping hot. Great flavors going on. Will definitely be going back to this fabulous restaurant.

Great addition to Chichester’s pretty limited dining options. The team running the place are really welcoming and professional. The food is great. Really liked that the menu was relatively brief - you know this way they gave a focus on doing what they do best rather than trying to be all things to all people. Give it a go, it’s great.

Very average. Booked 8th April based on the reviews and we were let down. Over rated. Food average and generally not piping not piping hot. Very limited menu based on web site saying vast array of dishes. Only 4 main courses and three of those had an Indian take with curry sauce. Not a real fusion menu. My sea bass was actually very hot (oven) and spicy and actually quite good. But the rest was underwhelming. Very surprised that at 7.30pm pm a Friday they were not very busy, far from it, just us two and one other! And at £87 very poor value. We have eaten in many of the good Asian restaurants in London and this is a far cry from them. Disappointed.

We went here last night for the third time. Each time was amazing. When in Chichester give this lovely restaurant a go. Cannot be faulted in any way. Awesome

Fantastic food & really friendly staff

Tried their Dim Sum offering. Sadly disappointing, the range on offer is limited and the Dim Sum itself lack lustre. On the positive the server was very pleasant. We will be back to try their A L Carte menu.

Impressive food. Looked great and tastes great. Chilli prawn and squid starter was spicy and soft. Nepalise veggy curry main was fresh tasting and substantial. We ate from the pre-theatre menu and found it reasonable value too. Drops a star because a bit slow on service for such an early sitting, we were very close to missing start of show, but did make it.

Absolutely delicious! An amazing selection of dishes. Everything tasted fresh and had great varied flavours. The restaurant has a lovely peaceful atmosphere. I would highly recommend the passionfruit yakult to drink. The duck breast main was cooked to perfection. I wish I had known about this restaurant sooner. Will be returning again. I am looking forward to trying the lunch set menu. If you want food to the standard of excellent fine dining restaurants without paying an expensive bill. This is the best place to go and the value for money is excellent.

Don't think of this as your typical Chinese restaurant. It really isn't. Fusion East meets West. Silver service staff. Relaxing ambiance and widely spaced tables in different rooms. We were 6 adults for the lunch. With the set lunch being only £16.50 our expectations were not high. But we all really enjoyed our choices. Super high quality and service. Excellent value. We will be back ... often.

What a delightful find this place is! Was looking for something special, and probably should have eaten in in their lovely restaurant but already ordered to takeout. The food is unique with incredibly balanced flavours! The lamb was exceptional! Will definitely return and dine in next time!

Such varied and authentic flavours! My favourite of all was my duck salad starter but we'd never had anything like the cumin beef (his favourite) and among the seafood dishes we couldn't choose.. Service was both friendly and professional, wine list avoided the standard options and was reasonably priced, we thought. Thankyou, can't wait to come back!

Had a nice meal, the cumin beef was lovely, I took the merlot for wine it was great too. Place is nice, and service was perfect. Overall a really good experience, I enjoyed the moment.

We had a pre-theatre dinner here and it was really excellent - fusion Asian served in a western style (two or three courses) with interesting ingredients and combinations. It was not busy and it deserved to be more so.

Well the menu speak for itself wasabi prawns, beef I say more? Service is excellent too, the restaurant is in a great setting perfect for any dining occasion, can’t recommend enough!
