Phoenix Artist Club in Camden

My wife and I had a fantastic 25th wedding anniversary at the Phoenix Arts Club on Nov 11th. Peter and the team organised food, drink and DJ. The staff were attentive throughout the night. We were also able to have a great band play for us. The club is Bohemian Chic and just the right size for our 100 or guests. Looking forward to going back - perhaps even as a member for the cabarets!

Don’t miss the the opportunity to go to the Saturday Supershow Cabaret with Michael Twaits & Sarah Rose on piano. Great duo able to reel off a number of songs at the audience’s request. Very clever and very entertaining. Their sets interspaced by other artistes, each giving their all and a couple of surprises as to the quality and range of voice coming from an unassuming person. Great alternative night out. P.s. Pizza’s were good too!

This is a great night out for cabaret! the pizzas are tasty, the staff are lovely and most of all the entertainment is great!

The food was really good and I enjoyed the show, it was a really good evening. I would recommend it again (special thanks to the waiter Paddy).

On a trip to London with my best friend and we decided to give this a go. Boy were we glad we did. We had a deal which inc the show, pizza and a cocktail each which was outstanding value. The venue itself is gorgeous very quirky and intimate. The food and drinks were fab the bar staff absolutely delightful. The show itself was the highlight of our trip. The compare Carla bear was hilarious followed by a wonderful singer from New Zealand called Steph who had an amazing voice. The lady doing burlesque from Norway was stunning, the guy from Colombia doing acrobatics was truly gifted and the comedian Josh had us both crying with laughter. I cannot praise this venue highly enough. A massive thank you to all the talented performers who thoroughly entertained us for two hours and to the staff for just being so welcoming and lovely. I am already looking to return as soon as I can with my husband. Just wonderful.

Myself, my mam & two older sisters attended a Friday Night in Soho show and were absolutely amazed at how good it was!!! We enjoyed the drinks, atmosphere, the host, the team, we literally laughed from start to finish! Would definitely visit again next time in London!

It was a phenomenal night. Ignore old reviews, they’re definitely out of date. The cabaret was a real showcase of amazingly talented people between singers, a circus act, comedian and burlesque dancers this place has it all. Staff were lovely throughout the night; they sat us down and it’s table service during the show so the cocktails flowed all night. The place turned into a members club after the show but we were allowed to stick around until late. Fabulous place, definitely would recommend.

I visited the Phoenix Arts Club on a visit the London last weekend. It had been highly recommended to me and I was told that I must not miss it. I went along with friend and my friend recommendation was spot on. We had a wonderful night. The caberat perfomances were a mix of the extremely funny and also the increadibly skillful acts. My cheeks were literally aching from laughing so much. I am very grateful that I too my friends advice. It was certainly the most enjoyable part of our weekend. I would recommended it to anyone visiting London- but be prepared for also having sore cheeks from laughing so much! But also be open mouthed at the unbelievable acrobatic skill of some of the acts. you will not be disappointed!

Would have added half a star but wasn’t an option. Good, fun experience. Some of the singing did travel a bit off-key but excusable. Great variety of different performers and the passion was evident. Unfortunately did take them 20 minutes to make our drinks, and I did just watch them on sitting on the bar before I got up to collect them myself. Saw many tables being served drinks before ours and these table were seated after we had orders ours!

A little hidden gem my favourite place to unwind have a drink a bite to eat listen to music and sometimes even dance the night away - now proud winner of the best in London

Had an absolutely incredible night!! The new generation burlesque show is 1000/10 - hilarious, fun, sexy and totally entertaining. Would highly recommend. Staff were amazing and the venue is gorgeous

I've been coming to the Phoenix for a few years but this weekend, the Anti Valentine's Brunch, was the first time I've had food there Their pizzas (had mushroom & the Margherita) are brilliant & will definitely have again! Genuinely friendly and welcoming staff, it's the sort of place I'd even be comfortable going to alone as everyone is so attentive! Quick to clean, good at the bar, never had an issue with the toilets, pats on backs all round The entertainment, considering it was Saturday afternoon, was as top tier as their evening weekend shows! Karla Bear was the talented & hilarious host, we had burlesque, fire eating, sword swallowing and an incredible person who did all sorts of wonderful handstands The crowd was a mix, as always, of young and old, couples and groups of friends. It's always LGBTQ+ positive and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Phoenix Arts Club as one of the most welcoming West End venues with a lot of heart

I paid for two courses with the cabaret show. When I got there, the rude door man tried to stop me entering, then the waiter said that despite paying for pizza and dessert, they had no desserts. I got no refund or replacement. This is theft.

First time in this iconic club for nearly two years, surprised by the changes made. We held our wedding reception here 11yrs ago and yesterday returned for our 11th anniversary. We were well looked after.

The best night . The stuff was extremely nice . Waiter Paddy was very polite and friendly. The show was extremely funny and entertaining. I always come back and never disappointed.

Booked a cabaret night...even received an email asking me to confirm my attendance. We arrive at the location they said on my email but nothing was open....no one answered the phone. Wasted trip to London and the took my money! So disappointed!

We had a large group (12 people). We booked a table on a Saturday for 6pm to eat. The food was great but a limited menu for those a bit fussy. We then enjoyed drinks before The Saturday Supershow began. This was excellent! Great host, singing, burlesque and jokes. Lovely environment for quality entertainment.

The service was pretty slow to get us seated when we first arrived, which was disappointing as we were a larger group and had booked ahead. We were then also asked to order our own drinks at the bar which was a bit annoying. However, it was a very busy Saturday night and, initial slow start notwithstanding, we had a great night - the food was lovely, the atmosphere great and the entertainment fantastic. Myra Dubois had us literally crying with laughter at our table. We cannot wait to return (maybe in a smaller group though, so the self-service on drinks is less of a pain)!

Booked 3 VIP tickets (£30 each) with half a bottle of prosecco per person included for ‘A night in Soho: The Stars of London Cabaret’ via Design My Night online.Booking process was clear and easy. Received email with electronic tickets attached.Arrived at 8.10pm (20 mins before show starts) and directed downstairs to the bar by security. It was initially less than half full but by the time the show started it was packed. The bar itself has friendly, fun and efficient staff. The drinks were all reasonably priced, so much so my wife was ordering doubles :)We weren’t sure what to expect from the entertainment but once it started...Wow, just wow!!! The compare, Ivy Paige, is a beautiful red headed diva with a wonderful voice, her singing was amazing and her comedy was superb. She controlled the audience, literally on one occasion, with a wonderful flow of songs and one liners.She handed over to Issie Hart, another stunning redhead but this time an opera singer with a cheeky sense of humour...stunning voice and great comedy.Tim Hill was next up, another comedian with great delivery.And then the icing on the cake, 86 year old Lynn Ruth Miller. She had everyone in stitches with her take on life and ‘SPANDEX’..she was amazing.There was a real friendly fun atmosphere throughout the show which continued for hours after. This has been one of our best nights out in London and we can’t wait to return. Thank you Phoenix Arts Club, you your staff and the acts were incredible!!!

I've been visiting this gem of a venue at least once a month for the past 2 years. By day it's my makeshift office and by night I have entertained overseas visitors, celebrated birthdays, commiserated breakups, made great friends and had memorable nights out. The entertainment is world class and can be anything from from duelling pianos, cabaret, burlesque, magic, song, dance, open mic nights.The food and drink are great value for money, scene is relaxed and casual and decor feels underground jazz club. I am always welcome with a smile by patrons and staff alike. Special thanks to Paddy and Dash for always making sure I have an amazing evening and taking the time to chat.

What a totally different, fantastic night ! Atmosphere was electric.Only down side was we bought tickets which included a cocktail, however this only included one cocktail which wasn’t on the menu .The burlesque was amazing , wish it had been longer ! Will go again

Came here for a meal after a afternoon at the theatre with 12 other people. Very impressed with their food I had the tomato soup and chicken Kiev which was really tasty would recommend and come back!

Booked a ticket and got told they weren't letting anyone else in as they had overbooked. No prior notice or apology. Female bouncer rude and aggressive.

He visto varios espectáculos en Phoenix, Myra Dubois, Charlie Hides y Adam All. El lugar es muy acogedor y nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos a pesar de que no somos miembros. Las bebidas ginebra tenían un precio promedio y el personal era muy educado. Cenamos en nuestra primera visita y la comida era excelente. Volveremos pronto.

The room at the Phoenix is full of character. We watched the open mike show which was fun. The food was tasty and made for a pleasant meal.

The location is good for the theatre next door. The room is interesting and quite comfortable. However, our evening was spoiled by the very late arrival of our main courses, which meant that we very nearly missed the start of the show. The food was just OK, but the chicken Kiev was burnt. The service was not very attentive, apart from being asked four times if we'd like more (very expensive) drinks!

The staff was pleasant and attentive- the food was very good. Great location for a pre-theater dinner, particularly if you’re going to Come From Away. Would be good for any other nearby theatres as well. The real test – we will eat there again.

We arrived early and were welcomed and made to feel very comfortable. Food was excellent and the service was very good. On a very hot summers day the club was cool and very inviting.

The place is super campy and fun. The decor, music and everything is a musical Queen’s dream. The service in the other hand is almost non existence. The waitress was super friendly but not attentive. We always had to track her down or go to the bar.

We chose here having read the reviews and we loved it. We were going to the show in Phoenix Theatre that evening so booked for dinner prior to the show. Food was lovely I had the set menu which was really good value and hubby chose from the à la carte. Food was served beautifully hot and was all very tasty. The staff were very friendly and one of them told us that if we wanted to come in for a nightcap after the show we just needed to show our theatre tickets for free entry in the evening. After a fabulous show (come from away) we went back to the artist club for a nightcap and it was buzzing. Fantastic atmosphere and we didn’t leave there till nearly midnight!

The Phoenix Artist club is right next door to the Phoenix theatre. Down stairs there's a cosy bar area with a restaurant area to the back. The bar staff were friendly and we set a tab up to combine with our dinner later. The menu choices are wide and what you would expect from this type of venue I had homemade tomato soup as a starter followed by wild mushroom tagliatelle with chicken and bacon which was tasty and hot.

Visited the Phoenix Artists Club last week with a work group and we were simply blown away by the venue, the staff, the food and the atmosphere. By far, one of the best nights out I had in London in a long time. We were well looked after and the night's entertainment was incredible. Very talented people took to the stage after 8:30PM. It is an amazing night out and cannot wait to return soon!

Amazing vibe. Very chilled. Great prompt service. It's very artsy and trendy place with great photos and etc on the walls. The lighting was very subtle and romantic. I went there for a date and was very pleased with it. The food was so good and the food very tasty and well presented. The wine was excellent.

We chose Phoenix Artist Club from online recommendations for pre-theatre dining before seeing the fabulous Come From Away at the Phoenix Theatre. We arrived at 6pm, in good time so we thought as the show starts at 19:30. However, service - although very pleasant - was super slow, we didn't get our main course until 19:05 so had to rush to eat and pay bill to get to our seats in time. The food itself was OK - starters of smoked sheep's cheese and chunky vegetable soup were tasty. My friend's main course chicken kiev was enjoyed, however I ordered cod goujons and chips and was disappointed that there were only two thin goujons of fish which were mostly batter. Given the short time left before the show didn't have time to complain and asked for/paid the bill at the same time the meals came. It's a quirky place and nice ambience but would not return.

Great pre theatre dinner and location is just steps from the Phoenix theatre entrance. Service was so kind and efficient and appetizers and entrees were very good. Only downside is its downstairs and feels like youre in an old dark dressing room with no windows.

Best night out in London. Food amazing value and Vegetarian option We will be back in October

Not a great experience as they only really had the set menu and not all of that was available. Agree with a previous review about the glitter ball lighting. Sure it’s great late night when it’s more of a cabaret/drinks venue but not at 6.30. Avoid the ‘apple crumble’ completely!

Went along for a singalong a musical evening and it was great fun. We didn't eat but plenty of others did. Drinks at West End pub prices. Good friendly atmosphere. Must learn the words to some more songs!

A hidden Gem in the heart of the WestEnd. Really good value. Freshly cooked food good menus, nice people, a good bar and great entertainment. You'd have to be a real misery not to enjoy this place.

We grabbed a quick bite to eat between shows and was not disappointed quick service and tasty food tables quite close together but made for a buzzing atmosphere

We hired the venue for a private party. The staff we worked with Tomm, Peter and Gabby were terrific and couldn't have been more helpful. The venue is of course wonderfully unique and the bowl food was complimented by many of the guests for the quality and quantity. It was a very happy experience all round.

The Phoenix is back! The last menu was a bit disappointing, but the new one is outstanding - loads of veggie and vegan options, but some amazing finger food too - the truffled arancini would make Locanda Locatelli jealous. Obviously, the venue is superb and the list of awards is rightly growing all the time - best enertainment club was won last week..... Service was spot on - even on a busy Saturday evening approaching Christmas. Great range of beers and ciders as well as wines, spirits and a few cocktails.

My girlfriend's birthday was coming up and we both love theatre as much as we love each other. So I had decided that it was time to show this girl how much she means to me. That's right I planned a proposal with The Phoenix Artist Club!

This club is a little piece of Heaven, but can be easily missed. Situated on the corner next to the Phoenix Theatre, folk walk past without really noticing it.

Went for the pre-theatre 2 course meal and it was fantastic value. The fish and chips was huge and I had the lamb rump which was cooked to perfections and was well worth the extra 5 pounds. Drinks were cheap enough for the centre of the theatre hub. The atmosphere was good even early in the evening. I imagine it was pretty good after the theatre as well. I will definitely be going here again as it is a hidden gem. BZ

My daughter described this restaurant as a ‘speak easy’. This is a very old school setting which makes it quite unique. I came her for pre-theatre dinner and food was lovely. I would definitely come back again.

Visited yesterday for Tom Carradine's Music Hall by Candlelight - fab show in a great venue. Small and cosy with a quirky décor - will have to go again!

A friend had recommended this place a few times being in the area we thought we would try it and so glad we did!

My friends and I go every week after work, for two reasons. It’s open till late and has a great atmosphere. The first person to greet us is usually the security guard at the door. Shay or Shae (not sure how her name is spelt) she greets us with a smile asks us if she could check our bags if we have any and then gives most us a kiss on the cheek as we go in and also when we leave the bar. If we make too much noise outside she quickly and kindly asks us to keep it down while we smoke and chat. She does this with a smile, always! And we obey. It always feels like we are greeted by a friend. I’m surprised she remembers us every time. I’ve never met any other security guard who does this. She makes us feel safe and welcomed every time. She makes the experience more enjoyable. I’ve often seen her do this for many people, not just my friends and I. And that is massive reason for why we go there most nights. Knowing she is there makes it so great. Thanks Phoenix Artist Club for hiring such lovely staff.

The place was amazing, went with my partner and her family. They loved it and the live music was fantastic! We didn't see from our seats (because I wanted the table away from the stage ) but it's great value for money, food and drinks were excellent. Thank you so much guys, it was a great night.

Came here for a friend's birthday on a Friday evening - good food, ambience and great service. We were sat in the quieter room when the music was on and could still have a conversation.

The only negative I can comment on is that at certain tables the coloured moving lights are a bit irritating when you're eating your meal. They hurt my eyes, so we moved tables twice. Otherwise, it was amazing and we will most likely return when we're in London.
