We had the pleasure of enjoying a traditional fish and chips here, and it was absolutely delicious! The fish was perfectly crispy and the chips were just like home-made. When you come to London, I definitely recommend you to try it. It tastes like a 5-star restaurant. We ordered three different dishes and all of them were delicious. He is one of the best people in London. We would like to thank Ali Abi for his interest and attention. We will come again.

I came here on recommendation and was very pleased. I have eaten Cod fish many times in America but none of them were as delicious as this. The home-made potatoes were also delicious. I would like to thank the owner, Mr. Ali, he was a very friendly person and offered us tea. I will stop by again when I go to London.

We went for fish and chips for dinner. We tried cod fish. The plate was huge and the portion was large. Both fish and potatoes were crispy and delicious. We had the opportunity to meet the owner, Ali. He was very conversational and hospitable. If I come to London again, it is definitely a place I will visit again.

I go here occasionally when in London. The old owner recently died, which is sad. He was lovely. His cousin is running the shop now and was super sweet when my partner and I were there a few weeks ago. The food is good -- they will make the fish extra crispy if you ask and the service is friendly. Well located too.

Would recommend the Fish and Chips anytime. We had the battered Cod, nice and thin, crips and very fresh and flakey fish. The tartare sauce was also a good.

First time to London. Of course we had to try fish n chips. It was great. Large filet and chips. Hard to find any place open on a Sunday evening.

Fish was light and fresh. The chips had a fishy flavor due to the oil. The service was good and the staff friendly.

I ordered a steak and onion pie for takeaway. They microwaved a pukka pie in a plastic bag and sold it to me £10.50…. Yes it was soggy yes it was terrible.

The fish, which is very fatty in pieces, gives the impression that these scraps are cooked in oil. After this meal, my stomach hurt a lot, I felt nauseous, I do not recommend this particular fish. Other fish were more or less.

One of the best Fish & Chips tasted. Ben’s is a simple restaurant, decorated on the theme of the old sea, it has its charm. Very decent portions and also fair prices. We feel that the fish is fresh and rich in flavor and the fries are homemade by the chef behind his counter. No need for gimmicks, the fish & chips are served right on a white plate. In addition, tartar sauces, mayo and ketchup are available at will at the table. We happened to be there while passing by and we would happily return there, more than to certain fish & chips recommended in popular “top” articles on the internet.

Small bistro with delicious fish n chips in the city centre. I was just looking for solid fish n chips in the city without having to sit in a loud pub. Large portion for such a good price (around 14 pounds).

A bit greasy for my taste. The fish by itself needed some seasoning but combined with the vinegar and tartar sauce hit the spot.

He's my favorite usta in London, Ali Usta, love from Turkey. You can order what you want from the menu but I recommend you order the traditional fish and chips, As I ordered. The fish and chips were served with lemon and on the plate. The taste is unbeatable, with fresh fish and perfectly fried chips, offering a special touch that makes every bite delicious with that atmosfer. I haven't tasted other meals but I am 100 percent sure they're perfect. Ali Usta makes this meal the most delightful fish in the world. The restaurant was very crowded, however they served my fish very fast. I ordered the meal I had in 5 minutes. Maybe Ali Usta catered me but he's trying his best in this restaurant. He's doing the best service and the meal. It's worth your money, I was waiting to have an expensive check. But the check shocked me because it was very cheap. Ali Usta tried to pay for my receipt . He was so heartwarming to me.In this atmosfer this service and this meal, it's totally worth the money. If you visit this place don't forget to meet with Ali Usta.

Fish and chips are a must-do experience in London. I relied on the reviews and I didn't regret it: the portions are really very generous and the fish is very good. I'm very confused about the service and honesty of the restaurateurs. The menus in the photos of the other reviews were not brought to us and we relied on the price written on the blackboard (£15 per portion) so I'm not very sure of the transparency of the place. A 500ml bottle of water on the other hand cost £2.40 Delicious food, deserves a good review

Excellent fish and chips shop. Very rare in central London as it cooks the fish in the traditional way. I live on the coast in Kent and I can say it is as good as our local fish & chips shops. Much better than you will get in a pub here (in case you are considering a pub lunch).

We found this place by chance cause it was lunch time and we were on our way looking for places to eat (we wanted to try the fish and chips dish) but it was delicious. It wasn't very expensive either comparing prices with other places we saw the other days so we're glad to have chosen this place. The establishment is small so it's a bit difficult to move there if there are more people standing up at the same time near you, also there isn't a lot of room for many tables but luckily we didn't have to wait. The problem is that right after we finished eating they rushed us a bit to collect our things and a person working there started cleaning our table before we picked up all our stuff.

Service was fast, portions were large and delicious. The owner of the restaurant, Ali Bey, is also a very good host, we thank him for his interest. It is a good alternative to eat fish and chips in this region.

A simple and beautiful restaurant. It serves a traditional British dish, which is fish and chips. The owner is Muslim and the food in the restaurant is halal. He gave tea as a gift when he learned that we are Arabs and Muslims.

DO NOT VISIT!!! Food and service were absolutely disgusting. How bad it was? We waited 15 minutes for the fish to be cooked. I was sitting in the corner so I could see how long they fried it for. The person who fried it was a teenager so I assume that she was new, then the owner/manager came to help and I clearly saw that our fish were all overcooked, the colour was brown, batter was thin and the fish was curved, so he put his hand on the fish to flatten it. I was like are you being serious in my mind. Later on, the scampi and calamari were served, both over fried. I have never ever tried fish and chips that bad. When it came to bills, we waited for literally 5 minutes standing in front of the counter because the staffs didn’t know how to process it because I requested a receipt. The owner took a nice cigarette outside while his staffs were waving and seeking help from him. He then entered the store took another 2 minutes to show his staffs step by step how to do the procedures. During that time at the till I was about to express how bad the food was but after seeing the way he works I totally gave up. We paid £88.40 as four and it was a totally waste of money in the bin. The two stars in service are for the girls who tried their best to serve.

This place feels like a proper chippy. It is cheap and has great portions. Unreal in central London really. It is not the most modern and sparkling of places but for a good, cheap meal that feels authentically British it's perfect

I'm there because of the positive review, yes, the portion of fish & chips is large, at a good price. It is also prepared fresh, but it is a bit tasteless, not salted, has a tough taste and is very fatty. Fries are pale and dry. I can't say whether it has to be traditional, but I've eaten much better versions of fish and chips. Ambiance is nothing special, tables with chairs set up in the basement next to the kitchen. Staff very friendly and helpful. Conclusion: You can go and try it, but I wasn't convinced, 3*

Appreciated the warm welcome and quick service, but the Heinz ketchup bottles definitely did not contain Heinz ketchup. Nitpicky, I know. Would still return for a quick bite as the fish was fresh, hot and very tasty.

Very central, delicious food and not pricey at all! This is a proper fish & chips bar and we could see the fish is battered the moment you place the order and it's served immediately after being cooked! Chips are also very good. Overall a great experience; the place is a bit small but there's an additional room in the basement, so more space than what you can see from the outside.

We got sick after eating here. You ask for fish and chips and they don't even mention the fish they cook..no 🧂 . Ketchup was not henz. They refill it with a cheaper one with poor quality. Not recommended
