Xmas dinner planned for my team. Deposit taken and not been reimbursed No table service, no one told us kitchen was closed, after half ordering food at bar to inexperienced staff was told kitchen was closed. Still waiting for my refund of my deposit and no one answers phones or replies to emails! Shocking experience

Had a fab meal at the George, the pie was awesome. I definately reccomend.

La elección es tan buena; quiero elegir al menos 3 opciones: desde el tostado de queso esponjoso de primera calidad hasta el suculento filete de sarnie o las alitas de karage de pollo embaladas en kappow. Podría cenar todos los días muy fácilmente. Luego está la cena!! El pastel de carne o fish & chips son tan sabrosos y suculentos.

Gran gestión y equipo. Visitamos dos veces el domingo para el almuerzo y deportes y el lunes para una cena de amigos y familiares. La comida era excelente, especialmente los pasteles de carne y cerveza y los platos pequeños. El gerente no puede hacer lo suficiente por usted, un excelente anfitrión, junto con su personal

Been into the george quite a few times and I'm never disappointed with the service off all the bar staff and always get a lovely warm welcome from summer or helen on the host lovely ladies always polite and smiling definitely reccomend coming in to enjoy a drink with mates or just a cosy meal I will be coming back 100%!!!

Spacious inside and is much bigger than you think. Has a garden out the back too. Effectively their are numerous different zones to choose from. Enjoyed their take on 'light bite' dishes.

Disappointing service, food was tasteless and plain! Waiter came out of the kitchen coughing into her hands. EHO wouldn't allow someone who has flu symptoms in the kitchen. Lovely looking pub but terrible atmosphere.

I had fish and chips, overall, it was tasty. However, I would have added a bit more salt to the fish. The service was friendly and patient.

Had drinks only but the place lacked atmosphere and personality, just another pub with wooden floor and taps. Could do so much better

Had above & beyond service here. The barman Stuart was very friendly & professional. Running the whole pub on his own. My sandwich came up with white bread ( forgot to specify wholemeal) He apologised as they only had white however swiftly changed to a wrap. If only all pubs/ staff could be so accommodating. Lovely atmosphere & will definitely return.

My wife and I met out two friends at the George last night. They just had travelled 150 miles by NHS transport for an appointment about a serious ongoing condition at the Royal Free Hospital the next day. With a frame and assistance our friend could get to the George to meet us and get something to eat and have a relaxing chat. We ordered a drink each and four meals 18.25. We had a lot to catch up on. Although the pub was fairly empty (it got much fuller later), after about 35 minutes or so, I asked where our food was. “Ah it’s just coming”. And there and then they went through the kitchen door and brought it out immediately for us. Was that just coincidence? Why so long? And only after I asked for it. The food was absolutely dreadful! All four meals were tasteless and leathery. On reflection we suspect it had been left on the side. We were not really in the mood for complaining – we had more important things to think about and we didn’t want to turn this into an unpleasant time together.

Visited here a few weeks back and forgot to leave a review after my visit, my memory of the George is a very pleasant one indeed. Great pints and great food all topped off by absolutely lovely service by Sarah, she went out of her way, above and beyond, to accommodate us and therefore I cannot recommend this pub enough to anyone in the Hampstead area.

A really lovely pub & the staff were fabulous 👌. They also do a good range of non alcoholic drinks. Cider 0.0, and they even do Guinness 0.0 & according to some Guinness drinkers in our group, it taste exactly the same. Apart from not getting pissed & a hangover the next day Lol.

Service was great and atmosphere was nice but my friend did get food poisoning from the hamburger at this place and was down bad for a couple of days

Quality pub with a good selection of real ales and friendly service. Spent several evening here in 2016 during a visit and just came back for another visit. Even better than before.

Great beer and cider selection, I enjoyed the choices for the IPA’s . Great burger with fresh made fries. The ambiance was great and the staff very friendly. I recommend for a lovely meal and evening!

Absolutely brilliant place to come to chill and relax whether on your own or with friends and family. Stu the manager is fantastic. He is very professional and friendly too. All the staff are hospitable and very efficient. That's why I come here regularly. Well worth the money.

The Sunday roast is delicious and such good value for money. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Relaxing atmosphere.

I had a great lunch and had a chance to chat with the manager, Stuart, who clearly genuinely cares about the people who visit! This is a great pub that I’ve been coming to for over 20 years. Lovely venue and also close enough to Camden and Hampstead Heath and other places of interest to make it an excellent place to end an enjoyable day. Thank you!!!

Sarah was absolutely lovely, one of the best bar tenders I’ve ever met! Recommend the perfect red wine and had a brilliant night at the pub. Would highly recommend visiting!

Food was alright. Server was a right misery - when I was away from the table she delivered a pint to the table that was about 10% off the measure - then when I took it to the bar to be topped up she had the cheek to ask if I had drunk from it...

Quick service even when super busy. Kids meals simple but tasty. Staff were very kind and helpful.

2 front of house working c. 60 guests; big queues at bar as result (fault with owner/management). Don't even think about ordering food from floor staff (they'll send you to bar). Drinks list from the 80s (team don't know what Campari is, let alone stock it). Unfortunately it's the only place showing the football in central Hampstead, so take it or leave it.

Kitchen has much improved so if you ate here before and were disappointed don’t worry it’s all much better now . I haven’t tried that many things but steak sandwich is really good value at lunch with a pint . Soft bread soft steak very yummy and nice and salsa is also dressed well :/) Stuart the bar dude was particularly lovely and whilst it’s not the most cute atmospheric pub in the area it is by far and away the best if you’re after down to earth normal people and pub as apposed to superficial nonsense :-) that’s my review . I lived here my whole life and like the George the best .

A very warm and friendly welcome, and great food and beer. Small plates were very tasty and good value. We had an unpleasant experience at a nearby pub who had every table reserved, so we arrived feeling a bit frustrated!! Calm was soon restored here. Lovely, relaxing environment, very nice staff.

Great spot for drinks and a pub meal. Fish and chips were top notch and staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Highly recommend before or after a walk on the heath.

Really excellent fish and chips, especially with mushy peas!! The local publican was an absolute champ- great vibes all round, do yourself a favor and pop in for a pint.

Bar service was slow, i ordered my drink and the lady just kept talking to me and had to remind her to actually pour my drink, got it in the end, the drink was flat. For whatever reason the pubs lost its identity, food was not the best but at least the starters was nice, wouldnt recommend on a dummers day to go there

Fantastic pub, great service, food, drinks and so nice to be able to watch live sports in the heart of Belsize Park. Dogs love it because they get a waterbowl with ice and lemon upon arrival and delicious dog treats by the door.

Slow service .one person serving. Pint was also flat I gave this pub another go and yet again the pint of Amstel was flat. You really need to renovate the glasses as they are terrible .Puts me off coming here for a pint

If I could leave less than a one star to get my point across I would but I have to give the unworthy 1 star, the manager of this business doesn’t care about the premises he’s in charge of! Rather than dealing with problems he would rather sit and get pissed with his friends and probably provide free drinks and cover up his stock takes, so he can enjoy his own times and not care about his staff or produce, if your looking for a good night with amazing atmosphere avoid this place, if you want clean in date products then also avoid, glasses are never clean to standard, glass wash is always covered is limescale which is shown on the glasses if you pay attention and if the attitude from the management isn’t tolerated you will be bared instead of rectified… clearly the problem isn’t the pub it’s the person running it… there are better pubs in the area considering the lack of costumers since management has changed… Belsize is a small community and regular customers now no longer attended so something is wrong….
